"First impressions"
"I was actually abit shocked with the service we received"
"The Wife & i had a great experience here! The food’s amazing"
"My partner and I have been to this place couple of times and I can confidently say that I am utterly satisfied with not only their food quality but also their top notch customer service"
"Today I was served by an absolutely wonderful human, who I believe deserved some credit"
First impressions. Business had a great ambience and a welcoming feeling. The greetings upon walking in were brief but welcoming. A quick hello. Was all that was needed so it was good. They gave us time to check over the menu without pestering us. The ordering process was quick and simple, we knew what we wanted and they were happy to put it in, with not to many questions. One odd part that happened was the lady that served us did seem a little stand offish when we asked if we could just have the burger without the chips, the response was "you will still be paying for them" like yes we understand and that's fine. But. There are other ways around saying it. Maybe "We can do that, however we can change the price" The Food and Drinks Pastry - Crossiant, the Crossiant was not buttery enough, had a very chewy texture and did not come across as soft as a Crossiant should be, still lovely to have with coffee. Wagyu Burger - Flavour was very well balanced within the mixture of tomato and mustard mayo, pattie was cooked well, I prefer a little red but, still had it's juices flowing, the mixture of lettuce cheese and tomato was very refreshing, all ingredients complimented each other well. The Chips were crunchy and delicious, well seasonsed and perfectly golden. Very well done on this one, recommend trying it Chikn Burger - Our experience on this one was a little under average, while the slaw and kimchi mix was delicious, there was perhaps too much and resulted in a bit of a soggy mix on the bun. However, the flavour wasn't tied in with the chicken, as if they were 2 separate dishes. The chicken was not too crunchy and lacked the punch you expect from a fried chicken burger. I would recommend having an open mind and trying this one, just be ready for a bit of a mess on your plate. Chips were as above with the wagyu burger _________________________________________________________ Drinks Choices today: Biscoff Milkshake - Great Choice for lovers of Caramel and Biscoff combined. The flavour was not overpowering, Biscoff flavour was very refreshing. Frozen Hot chocolate - This shake was perfect. It had the right amount of chocolate. Not too much. But not too little, which made it perfectly refreshing. Chocolate flakes on top was a nice touch

I was actually abit shocked with the service we received. This cafe was on our “to visit list” for awhile now. Initial vibes were great. Great atmosphere. Waitresses were friendly. The prices were abit high looking at the menu especially for the area the cafe is located in, so I assumed the food would be served in generous portions. We were then let down by long wait times. Waiting around 40 minutes for our food. We also ordered 2 drinks but never received them. We were asked by a waitress about the drinks abit after we got our food. Abit of miscommunication there but still a very long time to not be asked or receive our drinks or food. When we did receive our food.. I thought the portion sizes didn’t match the pricing. The Caesar salad is around $19 on its own. To add chicken & halloumi is an extra $4-$5 fee for each. It did taste good. Chicken was seasoned well. Unfortunately dirt was found in the lettuce of the salad. Not much chicken, crutons, or bacon. For the big breaky it was around $23 + $5 extra for halloumi. Personally for the price of everything I think the extra’s should be included but that’s my personal opinion.
The Wife & i had a great experience here! The food’s amazing. I had more of a lunch item for breakfast but that doesn’t matter when it tastes amazing! Right?! I got the loaded fries and they were full of flavour, the chilli beef was delicious! The wife got a bacon and egg toasty and she loved it. The way the bread is made was her favourite part! Theres a great guy that works there! I think his the owner? Definitely knows that his doing within the establishment and is a vital roll in the success of the business! We will be back eventually, a little pricey but like I’ve always said in my reviews. If you can get full from one serving and it tastes amazing price doesn’t matter! Finally the thiccc shake & the ice coffee was amazing!

My partner and I have been to this place couple of times and I can confidently say that I am utterly satisfied with not only their food quality but also their top notch customer service. Everyone is polite and friendly. This is probably one of their finest quality as a restaurant. Prices are not too exorbitant either. Serving size of the burger and the fritter pancakes were massive. Eden served us and he was very helpful in making selection from their vast menu and their amazing looking dessert selection. We took away slice of carrot cake and brownie. It was baked perfectly and had great flavour. Burgers were juice and tasted really good with thick cut chips and garlic aioli. My partner order the home made ice tea they had on special and it did not disappoint. Definitely worth going to this place for a nice brunch on Sunday arvo. Thanks guys for the awesome service and the quality food. Cheers !
Today I was served by an absolutely wonderful human, who I believe deserved some credit. I’ve visited Jock and Mack previously, and it’s never disappointed. Before venturing up for my coffee today, I had a rough day and wanted to call it a day before 11am. I was struggling and on the verge of a Menty-B. That was until I was served by a beautiful soul at Jock and Mack. I can’t remember their name, but we joked and bonded over shared experiences. They wrote a little uplifting and funny message for me on the side of my coffee cup, which really was the icing on the cake for the whole experience. Thank you to this beautiful person, oh and the coffee was bussin’. Cheers to our inside jokes between two strangers xx

We love travelling locally trying different brekky menus, and we have seen Jock and Mack pop up many times as one of the 10 best places in West Victoria. We are a part of the Grindstone Barbers franchise, and the only time we head out to your side is to our brother Grindstone Barbers Hoppers Crossing and dine at the Grindstone Barista cafe. This week we decided to try somewhere different. Walked in, the environment was very warm and welcoming. Food was well presented and absolutely delicious. Wonderful 80s and 90s music playing with a singing barista We enjoyed ourselves so much that we actually came back the next morning for brekky again. Hats off to the chef Filipe. Thank you for your service Jock and Mack. Another happy customer Grindstone Barbers Tarneit

Absolutely love everything about Jock + Mack! While it’s not really ‘local’ to us, it certainly has become our adopted local. I’ve been to Jock + Mack a few times before with friends, but came with my husband for the first time on Sunday morning. We came at the busiest time, but we were quickly seated and had our drink orders taken. Our food came out quickly and was just perfect! I can’t say no to the Good Old Hash, and my husbands Breakfast Gnocchi - to die for! We had to get some of the tasty desserts to take away too The staff are always so happy! Everyone is smiling and happy to help, even when you can see it’s getting pretty full inside and out. They are just such a kind and lovely bunch Can’t wait to come back soon!

Some places can appear to be a bit daunting at first. That’s how we felt the first time we went to Jock + Mack. The staff was overwhelmed and trying to keep up. After testing our patience, eventually the food arrived. We were smitten and speechless, as everything was presented so very well and tasted heavenly. Some places are visited for experience and some to enjoy the food. I’d definitely recommend this place for their food. Our second experience since has got us hooked to this place. They offer irresistible, yummilicous brunch. The staff is constantly on their toes, and yet some of them manage to keep the kindness intact. Overall, the food is so delish that just like us, you’ll want to keep returning. Thank you, Jock + Mack

*****HAIRS IN ALL FOOD****** Omg so disgusting ate here the other day was excited as a friend told me. My man & I ordered 2 meals & there was a light brown/blonde hair in my bread & ANOTHER on the breakfast!! Can u believe? So UNSANITARY!! The fact there was hair in both meals is shocking. I looked in the kitchen & there was a lady there same coloured hair. Never coming back again I almost threw up. Also I didn’t mention anything to the staff because I didn’t want to ruin my date & kill the buzz / put my man off his food. so I just put the food into a plastic bag & binned it!!! think the lady needs a hair net or something so grosss!!! Sickening

Stopped off at this place after a night on the spirit of Tasmania and before heading into Melbourne CBD. We wanted a nice cafe for an easy breakfast. This was one of the weirdest cafes I’ve been to. The staff were extremely ditsy and slow. We ordered some takeaway food and takeaway coffees to our table so we could eat and then go when we wanted to. Thank god we did get takeaway cups because the coffees took forever to come out. Seems like other tables were also having the same issues. The food was good but not when you finish it and are still waiting on coffee. Staff didn’t even bother checking when we asked. Very disappointed.

Very good food, drinks and service. This cafe used AXIL coffee, quality coffee. The breaky tower is extremely rare and special. Worth for 2 person 2-course meals. Eggs cooked to perfection, without any vinager flavors. Baked beans taste like homemade. Hash browns are huge, extremely crunchy and yummy. Very special. The dessert is chocolate pancake. Very fluffy and soft. Taste like egg cake. Self construct this pancake before eaten. The size of this pancake definitely enough to share. Service is very good, they are happy to gave us the missing bacon in the middle of the meal. This café is huge, but very busy. Located just next to train station and bus stop. Very convenient. Plenty of car parks nearby.
Food fantastic the cakes the coffee yum the bacon and eggs really yummy. But the service was not good we asked for a extra piece of toast for my bacon eggs. It took a very long time for me to get it so long my breakfast had gone cold and after asking 2 servers where is was they said they would check but never came back to tell us. My husband went to counter to see where it was and was told it would be out shortly another 10 mins later one cold piece of toast came out with no butter l even had to ask for the butter. Such a shame really great food when you can get it.

Dishes are done nicely, they have a very interesting combination, looks fancy and taste great! Highly recommend one of their winter special: --- BREAKFAST GNOCCHI House made saffron gnocchi, medley of wild mushrooms, cherry, tomatoes, fresh, chilli, baby cappers, and loads of, pecorino and a poached egg --- Very interesting combination and very tasty

Ambience is really great, however we ordered Shakshuka and Good Old Mash. Shakshuka needs a significant improvement in taste as we felt the canned tomato puree and canned cannolini beans are overbaked together with some cinnamon powder. Cinnamon flavour is dominating everything else in the dish with strong raw tomato flavour. Disappointed with this dish. Good old mash presentation is great but the flavour is bland and mild. Sorry guys. You can do better but coffees are great though

OMG!! What an absolute gem!! The food is to die for. Had breakfast and still full from this morning. Menu not very extensive but no need to be. The quality of the dishes is devine! And the flavours, wow!! Great setting. Awesome staff, very friendly. And very reasonable. If you are looking for a good place to eat in the area, this is IT!!! Attached dishes are the Smashed Avo and the Good Old Ash. Name comes from the owner's two dogs who passed away (as per photo). A great touch.
Menu was fantastic and I also loved the different choice in drinks eg Red Velvet milkshake. My Avo on toast was not your usual avo on toast but was garnished with a few extras. My 15 year old son said his wagyu beef burger was the best he has ever had. He also said, and I quote, “Not gunna lie, that was probably the best meal I’ve had at a cafe ever”. Thank you Jock and Mac for an awesome meal and service.

Wonderful place for family and friends. All of their foods are delicious. I had the Reuben on Rye special of the week. I tried other dishes before and can't find a bad one. I'm not a fan of cake/muffin so can't have reviews on that but my husband family won't leave the cafe without bringing some cake/muffin home. Staffs are super nice. This is the go-to cafe of me and my husband family.
The owners are actually my friends. At first I’d just go there to support them, but they always have delicious treats, so it’s safe to say I’m obsessed. Some of there treats are locally made which is why they taste so good! Not like that packaged stuff other business just buy from cosco’s in bulk. Cinnamon scrolls and chocolate tarts are my fav. Also Aimee and Helu are beautiful people.
Decent brunch place. The seoul sandwich was fluffy and flavorful, but felt a bit heavy as there wasn't any vegetables in it. The blackberry apple cake had a texture similar to that of banana bread, but a bit grittier because of the blackberries. The pistachio cheesecake was quite dense and not particularly rich or creamy.

Best cafe in the west. Excellent coffee, amazing food and good grief are the staff just so friendly and welcoming, especially Stella! Such a lovely, homely feel, and some of the best toasties and house baked goods you will ever have. Breakfast and lunch are both SO good. I can't be bothered going anywhere else anymore, no need!
My favourite cafe of all! The food, chefs and baristas are amazing but the customer service from every single staff is what makes us keep in coming back! Incredible people with a big heart and soul! I appreciate their food, their hard work and their vibe! I love this place. This one is a MUST have! Highly Recommended!
Fantastic food and lovely staff. Sat outside in a nice space and enjoyed our meals. Mine was so beautifully presented, poached eggs were perfect and the flavours of the dukha, avo, and vegetables worked so nicely together. Coffee was great. My partner really enjoyed the eggs Benny with salmon.Great job by you all!
I went there with 2 of my friends and it was a nice Vibe. The staff are definitely are nice and friendly. I asked for a table and surely Assisted us for one. Spacious, good for family. One table is good enough for 6 person. I had Mushroom omelette. I like it. Parking is just infront. They have table in and out.

Quality is great, customer service is good and professional. Great atmosphere and honestly just a great experience!

Really nice experience. Greeted by extremely friendly staff, serving size for the puppicino we got for our dog was excellent and such a good idea providing a bowl too!
We love coming here for morning coffee. Cheese toasties are great and the service is amazing. Would recommend 100%

Dine in: Honestly the food here is pretty damn good, along with the service. Our food was delicious, service was quick and the coffee is one of the best in the Western
They have good coffee and great food -- loooved their scones. Love the indoor space, very kid friendly. They do have outdoor seating too which is great. Lovely staff!
I’ve been past this place a number of time and had never given it a go. Wanting to try a new cafe, we thought we’d give it a go. Delicious food, and great service.
Awesome cafe food and worth the detour from the highway when passing Hoppers Crossing!

Really nice environment, good location just a bit away from the train station. Lovely staff and the coffee was really great man. I got a dirty chai latte.
What a gem of a find in the West. Food was excellent. And this is coming from someone who has brunch in Fitzroy or Collingwood nearly every weekend.
Went for brunch, ordered on the ap & food never arrived, 40 mins later went & asked & the reply was so u want a refund then

Amazing! Good coffee, big hearty meals and lovely staff. Love the qr code ordering, means we can go at our own pace even when it's crazy busy

If there is a better way to enjoy your Sunday, I don't want to know about it. Excellent food, friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere.
