I had a really bad customer experience at this store. The items and store set up was really nice, the products are high quality. But unfortunately I had really bad customer service experience. I had a few items and wanted to get out fast, so I used the self checkout lane. I started inserting cash and by the third bill it was not counting the money! Ana came and tried to help, she was very polite and helpful. However, she was unable to fix it, and called the manager. The manager counted the money and somehow she couldn't "find it". After waiting for about an hour in the so called "fast self checkout" they took me back to check the footage. They saw that I inserted the amount alleged. However, they started asking what Anna did to the money, and if had gave it to me. They have cameras and footage and they were trying to explain the money that they had counted! I felt very disrespected and got mad that they were accusing the only helpful person. They can clearly see the footage and make the right judgement, rather than accusing people for this lack of professionalism!

My favorite grocery store in Houston! It’s H‑E‑B owned so the quality is the same but half the price. Especially the meat and vegetable selection! So fresh & so abundant. The chain does have a strong Latino lean to it so expect lots of Latin American products & patrons! The bolillos are baked on site with love & always 8 for $1, there’s enough of a product & brand selection on the shelves so that it’s not as overwhelming as a regular H‑E‑B location, and the cashiers are bilingual & speedy. There’s also a self checkout section for light shoppers that moves super quickly. You have to both find your own basket outside & bag your own groceries inside but it keeps the costs super low. You can find all the H‑E‑B brands here from Economax to Central Market. 5/5 easily!

Joe V’s is a warehouse type store , meaning you bag your own groceries etc. their fresh produce is fantastic - that’s why I come here. I’ve only found jalapeños at other stores lately, but Joe V’s had a huge pile of poblanos. Decent pricing (For these days) on the produce too. I’m vegetarian, so I can’t speak to the quality of their meats but they had an abundance of meats both fresh and frozen. Seafood seems to change. Sometimes they have a lot, and sometimes not so much. Other items are kind of hit and miss, but I find it’s worth coming here for fresh fruits and vegetables. One star knocked off because the place seems always quite busy and it’s stressful. I usually have to go home and partake of an adult beverage after shopping here. ;)

I LOVE this store. The prices are pretty good. It is an HEB run off store, so not everything is available at a certain time, but ilI can life with that. They need morencheckers during peak hours though. If you have more than a few items you can't do self checkout, and everybody in this neighborhood and others goes here purchasing full carts of items, if not 2! So bring your patience if you're getting a bunch, or come on an off peak hour if you want to get through quickly. The people are helpful if you can catch them not busy. I wish they had an electric scooter/cart or 2 to shop in as I am handicapped, but overall a great place to shop.

They are always crowded when I go here but yesterday (Sunday) was worse. It took me 10min to even get a cart and I only got one because I had to wait for someone to unload their groceries. Also, I wasn't able to get a few things on my list due to some empty shelves, so that upset me a bit. Then, I had to wait in line for quite some time because the lines were wrapped around. From now on I'll try to go before (2p) because I guess that's when the majority of the people on this side of town decide to shop.

I def Buy the products from Mexico I would definitely go there to check out face creams and hair products and medications, etc other stuff is expensive and they get a lot of their products from HEB....its different, inexpensive... I like it....they also have a phone kiosk in there if your cell phone is dead or you no longer need it and the kiosk shoots you back some cash for your dead(ish) phone.... nachos and hot dogs Stand is outside a jewelry store inside maybe something else I can't remember

If I could give 0 stars I would. Horrible experience. You can’t even shop right. We came to this location because it was closer to home never again. You couldn’t even walk. People were bumping into to each other. Just horrible. Like never again. It’s like one of those times you doing Black Friday shopping. Hell no. I prefer to drive the 30 min drive we usually drive every Sunday. rather than come to this location again. Ugh. Im si annoyed and I usually enjoy food shopping.

The only reason I go is for the prices and ability to get larger quantities for the same price as the big grocery stores, but their parking lot needs improvement. As a disabled person, I’m appalled at the lack of enforcement for illegal use of handicapped spots. People park behind you to get your spot even though there are plenty further out the parking lot (laziness ). Very few carts and crowd control needs attention.

Amazing and Even during this time of people panic buying they still have more than people think. Each time I return they have upgraded the store to be almost like HEB but better in the pricing and even offer the best combo box of meat towards the back near the Bakery. If you've never heard of Joe V's do give them a try with your grocery needs I saved $60/week on just my necessities for cooking.

Hundreds are still Parking in the Designate Handicap Parking Spaces ♿️ and the Handicap Access Aisles ... and I'm still..issuing $500-$600...and I'm still calling the police on those who curse and threatened me... I still press charges of assault... Stop and Don't Park in the Designate Handicap Parking Spaces ♿️... You need a Valid Blue or Red Placard or Designate Tags...

Here we go again--shopping for bargains and enjoying it too. Maybe you're a little hungry too? There's an Asian food stand inside the store. All business deserve at least one checkout. This is one of them. Although some prices have gone up, you can still find bargains here. It's a good idea to browse through the produce.Sometimes the original has a pretty good substitute.

Joe V's does not carry the Naked juices, nor the Applegate sausages, nor the laundry detergent that I have to use. I still have to go to heb or kroger to utilize bill payment services, because Joe V's Smart shop does not have a courtesy booth. JOE V's is a good store to shop at just be prepared to go to another store where you can get the goods they do not carry.

Using this grocery store always has everything fresh and nice but today!!! Lemme tell you guys. Everything was rotten, mushy, trash everywhere and nothing fresh. Even some of the meat you can tell went bad. It’s crazy how there still selling these to the consumers. Very disappointed. The check out lines where fast though! I will give a star on that.

I like Joe V's but not really much this one. Don't get me wrong. The cashiers are as nice as can be and the grocery is very cheap. The only problem I have here is the way people park. It seems like they just don't care how they park. That's why I like to park far away...lol. It's still a great store. Thanks for keeping the prices low Joe V's.

Discounts and savings. Expect to be there awhile. Lots of customers. Hard to find a parking spot. Long wait at registrar. But best prices on groceries. Deals, Deals. , and more good Deals. Update July 2023. Best place to beat the inflated grocery prices. The parking sucks. The lines are long, but $8.90 for 2 t-bone steaks. Worth the trouble.

This is my 1st time going to the store I heard a lot of good things about it but never try to. Up until today I no today I really love the variety of food that is there. I love that the line wasn't as long because there are multiple registers open as well as self check out. The prices are good and I'm a single mom of 3 so Very helpful

Value store for HEB. Items are in big boxes and not taken and stacked like HEB. Prices are much cheaper but it's variety. If you like to bulk up then go here but if you are getting a few items remember to go to the left side for self checkout because the lines are super long and slow. No parking on weekends

Wasn't bad but I'd recommend going right as soon as they open. The aisles are small or not well spaced out. Just be aware that you'll either be walking through the lanes especially in the vegetable,meat department without your cart. Other than that prices aren't bad and they do have a lot to choose from.

I've shopped here a couple of times and each time the prices were great, the employees didn't hesitate to stop and help. The long lines with carts overloaded at first gave me feelings of Walmart even with six lines open. But thankfully I was wrong the cashiers were fast and friendly. I'll be coming back.

Very busy location due to having the best prices in the area. It can be overcrowded at times to the point u may have to make a line to enter the store. Once inside the store tends to be neat and well maintained. You will more likely find better pricing here than you would at say food Town or Kroger

I've shopped here for years and it's saved me at least 50 dollars a week. If you're looking for produce, meat, dairy, and other staples, this place will save you a lot of money. It can be VERY crowded on Saturdays and Sundays (Like, no more shopping carts kind of busy) but that's life sometimes.

I am a disabled person and recently went to this Joe v’s location and a male cashier by the name of Elieser Romero was so kind to me, he helped me bag all of my groceries despite them not being obligated to. Loved that guy. Hopefully he gets promote so he can spread this positivity among others.

I love going to joe v’s good budget on everything. The only thing is this time the girl Diana (pale, short) at the register threw my tostadas down the belt breaking most of them. Didn’t apologize or anything. I would get it if we had a long line behind us but we were the only ones in her line.

The produce here is very reasonable. Today, it looked like a hurricane came by. There are so many people at the store. Don't go to the store after 730p. There wasn't much meat or milk. They just started putting out more produce. The lines were packed. Lesson learned.

Joe V's is affiliated with HEB My opinion is that the produce is better and 20 to 30% less. They have weekly ads on line and you can get some really good deals. Just shopping in the store everything is cheaper than the major grocery stores. Try it u will like it....

It's in the HEB family of stores but there meat prices cannot be beat. This store is full of great prices on things you would normally get from HEB. COME TO JOE V'S when you need to get meat to grill for a party or get-together, or if you have a family of over 4.

Busy location sells a large amount of HEB brand products for a cheap price. Warehouse looking interior. The clientele reflects the neighborhood it's in. Large parking lot. Several cashiers makes the lines go down faster than the automatic self checkout.

Cheap and good but too small for the large amount of people trying to move around. It gets hectic but if you want cheap you gotta sacrifice somehow. They do have a decent amount of registers open and have self checkout too that it's sometimes faster.

Best to go in mornings during the week, lots of traffic otherwise. Prices are good on most items. Some things (specialty) just can't be found. Adriana (not sure of spelling) at checkout is excellent, efficient and thoughtful. Easy on the eyes too.

Good prices but Wife won't buy meat here or anything that we will not eat in a few days. She says the meat always goes bad in 3 days even though refrigerated because of this she will jot buy anything fresh from here only canned and boxed items.

I have loved Joe Vs since I started shopping there. They always have great deals and some things can be surprisingly on sale super cheap. They are a sister company of HEB so all of their products are HEB brand products as well.

Clean nice variety and quality foods at a reasonable price! The lines were long but my stand in line time was more than 15 minutes. Cashier's are knowledgeable about products, moderately fast when it comes to checking you out!

The prices are very low compared to other grocery stores. The selection isn't as wide, but you will find most things there. The staff are very nice and friendly. Go early to avoid crowds!
