"I only found out about Skye lookout on Monday when trying to find a place to take my granddaughter to view the city lights"
Kensington Road Lookout is an absolute gem for anyone wanting a panoramic view of the entire Adelaide cityscape. During the day, the sight is already breathtaking, offering a sweeping vista of the city's skyline. But I believe it truly comes alive at night when the city lights up like a mesmerizing sea of stars. It's the perfect spot for a romantic evening, a serene solo contemplation, or just to marvel at the beauty of Adelaide. One thing to note is that it's a dead-end road, so be cautious when arriving by vehicle. The journey is absolutely worth it, but the road can be a bit tricky. However, that minor inconvenience is soon forgotten once you witness the city's grandeur from this vantage point. Parking might be a tad challenging as well, with only space for 4-5 vehicles. But don't let that deter you; the view is worth every bit of effort. Whether you're a local looking for a serene escape or a visitor seeking an unforgettable view of Adelaide, Kensington Road Lookout won't disappoint. So, grab your camera, come prepared, and enjoy this hidden treasure that offers a breathtaking perspective of this beautiful city.

Nice view, but there is a bit of obstruction (specifically 3 large trees which have always been here). Its just that only after returning for the first time in about 10+ years that I saw they are quite imposing now, and probably obscure more than 50% of the horizon these days. Still, it's a beautiful place and not entirely disappointing, there is still enough to see to enjoy it. Parking can be average, with very limited parks at about half a dozen bays. Sometimes remaining preoccupied for hours as cars inhabited with teenage couples busy exploring their romantic ventures, while taking in the ambience of the surrounding vantage point.
Great view point with about 5 car parks available. Very close to the city and a better view of the most of SA than Windy point. You can go off for a trail walk too and get some more great view points. There is a few small benches to sit on and you could probably have a small BBQ there though there is no facilities to do so, you also have to walk up the hill from the car parks as the gate to drive up is locked. This being the only real down fall.
If you like to see the 270 degree view of Adelaide come here. Fit enough to trek or walk take a challenge of walking on to the view point and grab a cake on the way home. It is a beautiful spot to view the city and beyond. But the council can do better to maintain its condition and value. Public to follow the rule respect others.
I only found out about Skye lookout on Monday when trying to find a place to take my granddaughter to view the city lights. It is a steep climb at the end of the drive with very limited parking, only four spaces really if everyone parked correctly. It was a good view of the city and would take visitors there again
Some nice partial views across Adelaide, especially at sunset and night time. This lookout is not what it used to be since the upper carpark was closed and the trees have grown to obscure parts of view. Still a nice spot but there is VERY limited car parking so good luck on evenings with a nice sunset.
The view is.. Or was fantastic, without the overgrown trees blocking the view and some idiot deciding to permanently close the carpark and leave only two spots down the hill and no accessibility for anyone that isnt fully mobile. Complete success in ruining one of the most beautiful spots in Adelaide
Great place to visit and have a drink at sunset or nighttime. The view is quite good even at night and it provides a view of all of Adelaide. The pictures I added weren’t great quality but you get the gist.

Absolutely stunning! Perfect for those sunsets where you don't want to walk far. Beautiful view toward the city/ocean. A short 100m walk gives you further views to the North. Only downside is parking - you may need to park on the road and walk up the hill a little.
The view is stunning, you will have a clear and wide view. Amazing Adelaide view I think but there’s no facility there, just a table if you would like an amazing view enjoying your meal :). Dont forget to take a walk up the nearby hill.
Really nice lookout point. You can see three sides of Adelaide metro area with a great view of the sea. Make sure to be there early if you want to see the sun set because parking spot is small, probably will fit five cars.
Such an amazing hidden gem to overlook the Adelaide skyline. I am yet to go for a walk along the tracks that are there. Whilst there isn't alot of parking here. This is a good thing as it means it usually isn't as crowded.
Great walk up to the lookout however trees cover most of the view. There is also no plants or flowers around the ANZAC plaque which would make it more aesthetically pleasing. No plants really anywhere at this place.
A very quiet place to go and reflect or relax. One of the only lookouts that aren't crazy to to visit during a sunrise or sunset. Limited parking space, However I find that helps to keeping the place quiet.
Beautiful spot near the city. Great views of Adelaide City and the northern suburbs. A place for a quiet morning with a coffee in hand or romantic spot for a date night - before hitting the town for dinner!
One of the Best sunset point Take your partner and some food if you like and enjoy sunset absolutely amazing

Too many trees obscuring view, can't see it all from one vantage point. View and benches, nothing else. Very steep road to get to lookout. Car parking for 3-4 cars at a time
A breath taking view of the Adelaide. The most exciting thing is that you don’t have to drive hours to reach this lookout area. There is a Nic trail for walking lovers.
It was a really nice lookout with great views of the city and ocean. Very close to the city. Be aware, limited car park space. In general, highly recommend …
It's a good advantage of the city, but soon it'll be blocked by the trees.

Awesome view of whole of Adelaide...peaceful,serene and beautiful...do recommend going at night to see the stars, & the view... it's magical !!!
There are four flat parking spots and the trees are growing into the view. Good for a sunset or watching planes land. Seating on slabs of rock.
Nice upgrade, clean tidy and accessible by all. No toilets available so go before you head up! Take the camera and binoculars. Great views.
Want to keep this place low-key... Best lookout place in Adelaide at night. Limited parking space but bring your car. Highly recommend

Great lookout. Nice place to sit and have some food or go up the hill for a gentle walk. Wonderful views. Gorgeous sunsets.
A good place to watch the scenery on the mountain. But there is not much to play. Very few parking spaces.
Absolutely stunning! Have a great view of Adelaide. Perfect place to sit and have the view of sunsets!
Kids thought it was scary to drive up the road leading to this look out, it was absolutely stunning
Nice n cool weather, The city view is awesome. The city view is 60% rest of 40% of hill view.
I literally love this placethe morning, evening and night view amazing and relaxing …
