Very poor customer service and seemed really racist . Too bad i couldnt see her name but me and my girlfriend went to buy some good wine on Sep 18 around 12:15pm and she didnt ask ID for the guy in front of us and when it was our turn she asked IDS for both of us , my girlfriend wasnt holding any drinks and i was the one buying she was just accompanying me and she didnt have her ID on her , i did show my ID and she said we cannot serve you in like a very rude way . I do agree that she is in all her rights to ask the ID and we definitely dont look like teenagers but her whole mannerism with the other customer and the fact that she didn’t ask him his ID and the way she talked to us was very very rude , we are very sophisticated people who never behave rudely with cashiers or people who work in customer service You guys need to hire better people its 2022 and its high time you guys change your old way of thinking . She seemed really amateur and definitely doesn’t know how to read customers and BEHAVE with customers. Please train your people better .
Open discrimination in this store: my minor daughter touched a bottle that is different from what I was going to pay for. The clerk and the manager claimed that my daughter “handled” the drink so they can not sell it to me. They scolded me loudly and made a scene and humiliated me in front of a dozens of customers claiming I do not understand Canadian Rules. I went to Loblaws next door, and bought another alcoholic drink. All the drinks are on the open shelves. Any minor passing by could’ve “handled” them. In Loblaw manger took a look at me when I checked out, but that was it, no question asked. So LCBO and Loblaws are following different “Canadian rule”? Or there is open discrimination in LCBO? I admit I was not born in Canada and maybe not Canadian enough in someone eyes although I lived here over 10 years. But humiliating customers in any ethnicity is not cool and misinterpreting rules is not professional.
I live in the area and come here often. The staff are usually always great. Today I made a purchase with my friend, the teller greeted us and asked my friend for id, but not me. After I made the transaction he told me that if I make a transaction I have to show my ID, and that he knows more about the store and its processes than me. This information came off very arrogant and condescending, especially by saying he’s more knowledgeable. I felt these comments were unnecessary as he had many opportunities to ask me for my ID before the transaction was made, but did not - instead he made condescending remarks after the fact. I did not enjoy my exchange with this teller as he made the experience distasteful.
The service at this location is outstanding, going above and beyond what most retailers provide. Example - I was looking for a very specific wine in a small bottle for my mothers birthday. I needed multiple small bottles for a virtual party toast. Not knowing this was a seasonal wine, I went in and was quite surprised to not find it. Additionally, I knew what the bottle looked like but couldn't recall the name. An employee came up and offered to help. She knew from the description what I was talking about, helped me track it down at another nearby location, and even offered to call and confirm stock. Amazing service.
Rude, unprofessional women working at this location. I walked over from the Loblaws parking lot after getting my groceries to buy a bottle of rum today. Immediately after walking in the door a lady that works there walked directly in front of me cutting me off. She then looked at me as if I did something wrong. Then at the cash the woman decided to ask me for my ID, which I quickly realized I had left in my car. I am 35 years of age, there is no reason for these lazy women to ask me for ID. They need to be enrolled in customer service training ♂️
Wide variety, comparable prices to other liquor stores. Mostly lovely staff except one dude who excessively checks IDs... as in, if I'm buying beer & my husband is with me but not carrying or purchasing, he'll insist on seeing BOTH our IDs. Seasonal selections of craft beer keeps me coming back! Good free parking, try not to go too close to close on the weekends as there will be big student crowds from Algonquin.
This LCBO has a great selection of craft beer and it is well organized. It is easy to identify where the product your seeking is located due to the intelligent store layout. There's frequently someone performing music outside, which is always a nice addition. Only slight against this LCBO is sometimes the staff has some attitude.
The tall, fat lady denied my ID where I was of age (1988) So I laughed at her, and went to another location that was on Merrivale. I was not denied there, as they have the cognitive thought process to complete a legal purchase. Just an FYI if your looking for in and out quick service, this is not the location to try.
I need some wine for gifts this past holiday. A young lady was right there helping me figure out the best to give at the best price. I learned before I left that it was her first week working there. Wow. I was so impressed with the customer service. Professional and so helpful. Micheal The Designer's Wflowers
Good store. The selection isn't the biggest, but you'll find most of the major brands here. Once they know you well enough they'll only occasionally card you (bring ID anyway). Friendly, helpful staff and the location is great if you need groceries too!
Can I help you they ask? No that's why I came here lol. It's a liquor store. They sell alcohol. Staff are friendly and helpful. Nobody seems to follow the floor markings for Covid rules however, customers seem to go where they please.
Nice staff but stock tends to be more limited compared to other locations being so close to so many apartment complexes as well as Algonquin college dorms etc. It's also quite small compared to most other locations around Ottawa.
Smaller store. Less variety than other stores. Beer layout is confusing because it is split between two back corners plus spread out on different shelves. I had a hard time finding things. The layout could use a do over.
Used to go here a lot but unfortunately all the beers now our local craft beers. I wish they would have the Imports like they used to. You really can't get what you used to there and I'm tired of all the IPA beers
They always have great people working here! Always ready to help find what you need! Can get busy at times but a great store. I park further away and walk it can get congested with cars at the front.
The staff here was incredibly helpful and very, very patient with my whiskey questions and return. Don't think I've ever had better more considerate service. A little surprised really
Great staff! I always have a problem making a selection. That is why I like to go to this location because they have always managed to help me pick the right bottle for the occasion!
Staff here are amazing. They are helpful and knowledgeable. Really go out of the way to find what you need. There are always people stocking the floor and extra cashier's if needed.
My favorite place to buy alcohol. I enjoy how well lit and pleasant the interior is. I'm docking a star for less availability of quirky foreign spirits and liqueurs than I'd like.
So many selections makes it impossible to choose. XD Once you do though they are always a tasty selection. Employees are also very friendly and able to help when you need it.
Good location with friendly helpful staff and a nice selection of products. More variety in German and Eastern European beers and Japanese sake would be nice though.
It's a liquor commission they sell sprites and beers and everything in-between. Not much else to say the store is well kept and the staff is beyond friendly.
I LOVE ceasars and one of the employees gave me the BEST recommendation for them. For that alone 5 stars love them fr best one I’ve ever had❤️
Excellent. I had the Honour to meet Alex. He knows so much and helped me with very good picks. That guy can guide you to the finest wines!!!!
Regular liquor store. Busier than others due to dense residential and Algonquin in close proximity. Despite that service is usually quick.
It is a good winery store. I love the red wines made from Italy with ancient recipes. It gives me a good taste and also enhance my health.
Good selection of different products, the store is well organized and clean. Usually there is no big lineups at the checkout.
They have lots of booze! The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful… It’s usually pretty busy though
Good service. Depending on your location, you might get beggars right outfront the store or a block away.
Disappointing - many beers were out of stock, cider selection was limited. Good Ontario wine selection.
Good location, but the fridge and the tablettes were quite empty. They were missing a few selection!
This store has a better vintage section than the Hunt Club location, even though it’s smaller
Not a large location but you should have no trouble finding something of your liking.
Can't go wrong here lol Very clean Tons of selection Knowledgeable staff
It has a good selection of great liquors, beers, etc....
Better than a standard LCBO, staples and more.
Great selection, very nicely renovated
Beer selection was pretty poor.
