0 stars. I can’t explain my frustration with this company and will never step foot in another store again. I entered the Scarborough location in early September 2020. I located a sectional I was interested in within 15 minutes of being there. I was assisted by a sales associate on the purchase of the sectional. (I will leave his name out of this because maybe he was just having an off day). Myron explained that he just needs to do the bill of sale and will be delivered in a month or so. Myron explained that he could not give an exact date for delivery because they are having trouble from the manufacture getting materials. (worldwide pandemic, very reasonable). To get the bill ready took hours. My girlfriend and I sat around waiting and waiting. Hours later it was finally ready, I went to the counter to pay and was surprised by the $150 delivery charge. I asked Myron if there was anything he could do, Myron contacted his manager by phone. 15 minutes later Myron walked over to let us know that the material we requested has been discontinued and they can’t make the sectional. Frustrated because we had been waiting around for hours we left the store. A week later I wrote an email to the store explaining my frustration. The manger contacted me two days later and was very polite. He explained that Lazy Boy does have the material and they can indeed make the sectional. Great! I headed to the store again, met with the manager and purchased the sectional. The manager told me to be safe expect the sectional to be delivered in late November. As November passed by and we entered into December I had heard nothing so I decided to contact Lazy Boy. I spoke with a very nice receptionist who explained that some of the sectional is in but not all of the pieces. She explained that is expected in early December and they will contact me as soon as it’s ready. A couple weeks went by and again I contacted Lazy Boy. There was no update and they were hoping early in the New Year. I asked to speak to a manager and was put in contact with one the next day. I told him I understand that the situation with COVID and would just like some communication to let me know what is going on. The manager agreed and said someone would email me weekly to let me know if there are any updates. The manager said he understands and said “even bad news is better than no news”. I’m thinking to myself at least I won’t have to contact them every week and chase them. I’m thinking we are making progress. Several weeks go by and guess how many emails I received for updates? ZERO. In the middle of January I finally get an email to say the order is in. Perfect! I set up the delivery for the next weekend and January 23, 2021 almost 5 months later it’s here. But wait just when I thought it was over. I look over the sectional and of course it is damaged. I haven’t even sat down yet and there are two large tears to the fabric, two of the legs are damaged and several of the clips that connect the pieces are damaged or broken. I’m on the phone, writing emails within an hour of the sectional being delivered. It’s the weekend so clearly the people who deal with repairs are not in. I speak to someone who lets me know that Monday someone will be getting in contact with me. On Monday I receive an email asking for pictures of the damage which I send the same day. I’m told that they have to special order the parts and it will be another 6-8 weeks before I can have my brand new sectional repaired. My battle is still on going and I’m sure it will continue to be a lengthy one filled with terrible customer service. If I could explain my experience with lazy boy in one sentence it would go like this. “If lazy boy was the last company on earth that sold furniture I would choose to sit on the floor” 0 stars.

We purchased a recliner on June 11th to be delivered on July 21st. We had to pay $100 for delivery. The delivery was on time, however the chair delivered was beige, not the gray we purchased. After 3 days of speaking to the store we were told that we would have to wait until late Sept-early Oct in order to receive the chair we bought. The other options we were given were to return the chair, choose a different colour to be delivered in mid-Sept or get a $119.99 refund (since the chair was "only" $1000) for the error. We chose getting the money back as my husband did not want to go without a chair until October as we already waited 5 weeks for it. I am disappointed and unsatisfied with the whole situation. An agreeable solution would have been for us to keep the mistake chair until the product that we purchased is delivered in late-Sept, early-oct. I was told this isnt possible by the associate. I don't know if the mistake was made by the store or the warehouse but we bought furniture at a cheaper store (Structube) that was delivered correctly and on the agreed upon date, with no extra delivery fee. We chose to go to a more premium store and ended up with a chair that does not match the rest of our furniture and 3 days of stress. I don't think we will shop at Lazyboy again and I do not recommend it. It should not be too much to ask of a store and company to have the product we purchased delivered on the agreed upon date.

My husband and I recently bought a new home and with that comes the task of furnishing it. We went to other furniture stores before going to La-Z-Boy and the service we received at La-Z-Boy was second to none. We specifically worked with Jamil and Laura. With every purchase we made, Jamil and Laura went out of their way to ensure we were satisfied and they did so by being helpful, patient and accommodating to our wants and needs. We were always greeted with a smile and made to feel like we were their only customers. Jamil and Laura's people skills surpassed anything my husband and I have ever experienced from furniture store representatives. We have gone back to Laz-Z-Boy several times and the service is exceptional each time. Jamil and Laura are not only knowledgeable about every piece of furniture in the store, they were committed to ensuring that the customer experience is positive from start to finish. This store took my money in July 2021 with a promise that my couch will be delivered in 180 days at the very latest. It is day 276 today. Every time I call the store, the staff say my couch will be ready in 2-4 weeks. This has been going on for months. Every month they say it is 2-4 weeks away. Plus, they refuse to adjust my bill! They took my money, violated the terms of the signed contract (delivery timeline), and refuse to accept responsibility for that contract. I am dismayed by this total lack of business ethics and professionalism, and have no choice but to go to the Better Business Bureau. You can’t just take peoples’ money and then not deliver a product!!!! I am stunned that staff at a well known store like this would behave in such an unprofessional fashion. Their products are expensive, and so please be careful before you spend money here. You could spend thousands and still have an empty house for almost a year… with no recourse. Be careful!

Overall shopping experience with la z boy furnitures is tedious, irritating and left with doubt. Didn't feel good about buying from them at all. So much back and forth over the phone with multiple personnel to get the right information. Sales agents are a luck of the draw so you could get someone nice or regrets speaking to. I felt played by the sales agent. Having your piece to be delivered to store for pick up required additional fees which sounds absurd. In the end I was disappointed and had severe buyer's remorse with my recliner. The recliner was built with average quality floorboard plywoods, not even the good ones. Post purchase, I shopped around at Leon's and found superior chairs for 3/4 the price I paid at la z boy. Chair is comfortable but from the quality of the build, loose hinges and shaky rocking, 3/5 ⭐️. Service and purchase experience 2/5 ⭐️.

Being in my 60’s with back problems I needed a comfortable sofa and recliner. To have the good one you have to try it so had to go to the nearest large La-Z-Boy furniture Galleries store which was a 10 hour drive. On our arrival we where greeted by Todd Armstrong, we explained to him our situation and that we needed time to try everything in the store. Todd was an excellent sales representative. Told us the history of LazyBoy, gave us space and time to do what we had to do while coming often to give us informations on the products we were trying. Thanks to Todd we found what we needed and ended up with comfortable and beautiful seatings. Ended up buying the Paxton Sofa, the Lennon recliner for me and the Trouper recliner for my husband all in leather. We are very happy customers with great and high quality products. It was worth the drive.

Sherry was an excellent sales person and I would recommend her to anyone. When I first arrived with my family she introduced herself and then gave us our space to take a look around and talk amongst ourselves. We didnt feel pressured or stalked at all but when we needed a question answered she was right there. This is a very different experience than what I've had in other La-Z-Boy locations. She provided detailed information and great support in helping me decide on the furniture for my new place. I also had the pleasure of working with their designer Wendy to help me finish off the look for my place, she was knowledgeable and great to work with I would highly suggest her to anyone who is looking for help with color selection and layouts. Overall very impressed with the service, quality, and value I received.

We have purchased furniture from lazy boy twice in the past 4 months. Our experience has been awesome with Sherri. She Is very professional in the way she deals with her customers. Very knowledgeable, calm and does not push you to get a sale. She answered any questions we had and gave us time to decide. We loved dealing with her. We purchased a dexter leather sofa, very comfy. And the entertainment console and cocktail tables and lamps and our living room looks beautiful! You pay for you buy! Lazy boy is the way to go!! Not forgetting the delivery side of the furniture. The twins Marlow and Milton came on time, assembled the furniture put the pieces where we wanted. And all was done in no time making us happy even going the extra mile to help us. We decided to drive to the La-Z-Boy in Scarborough after visiting the Whitby store the weekend prior and not feeling good about the salesman there. When we arrived, Sherry greeted us, and left us to test out chairs without hovering. When we were ready, she was available and was willing to negotiate and find the best possible deal on the chairs we had chosen. She explained our options and looked for ways to save us money, something the guy in Whitby refused to do. Sherry didn't try to oversell us and put all the paperwork together while we relaxed in a recliner. The best news was that the chairs will be delivered in less than a week, and we live outside Peterborough. I usually prefer to shop online, but Sherry made this trip to a store easy, painless and quick.

The furniture quality is extremely poor. We bought a recliner, a rug, a side table, a bench and three chairs there, the wood started to peel off after a while for all furniture, and the fabric of the recliner cannot be cleaned completely. We bought the full warranty (over $700) with the purchase and have contacted the insurance provider of Lazyboy, which is called Zucora. Currently no solution is offered, we only received a commercial spray by mail to ask us wipe the sofa by ourselves. Is this what we should get after getting furniture with such poor quality??? A full coverage of the insurance is just useless, customer service is extremely frustrating.

On my first visit to LaZboy store I was, after a conversation with the sale consultnt as was type of furniture I was looking to purchase I was directed to the website. I gained invaluable insight into what is possible. I enjoyed the variety of options when it comes to customizing my furniture. My shopping experience was interactive and enjoyable. The sales consultant and the interior designer was professional and knowledgeable. Both o them were helpful with suggestions which made my choices much easier. We visited your store near Scarborough Town Centre last week and Bob Stewart greeted us at the door. He was warm and not pushy at all, which we greatly appreciated. It set the scene for our visit. When we were ready with our questions, he appeared magically and told us everything we needed to know. We purchased a couch, chair and a cabinet. All good prices and the entire transaction was handled with care and professionalism. A great experience from end to end. An overall terrific experience! I was looking for new furniture for our family room. Jamil greeted me when I entered and then let me look around on my own for a bit before coming to see if I needed help. He was very knowledgeable about the products and I liked his easy approach. He suggested the help of a LaZ Boy designer, Laura. They both came to our home that same day, measured and discussed preferences and options. A few days later we met again to go over the design. We made some minor changes, but Laura pretty much hit a home run with both colour & style. This was a comfortable, stress free experience! Even my husband enjoyed it!

We needed a rocking chair for the nursery and we were strongly encouraged to get a lazyboy. As soon as we walked in, Jamil was there to warmly greet us, asked us what we were looking for, showed us the various models and features. Then he left us to explore different models without him hovering!! He said if we need him to just wave our hand. And it worked! He was never far and was very knowledgeable of the features and benefits of each product. It was the most relaxing and least pressure shopping experience ever! We got a great deal on a labour day sale rocker!! HIGHLY recommend visiting the progress ave location!

Our Sales Consultant Bob Stewart from the time we entered the showroom to two and a half hours (and two 3-seaters) later, he was knowledgeable ,patient , accommodating, kind and humorous. Initially, the sales person did not allow us to look around but once we asked that we be given space she accommodated our wishes and was quite helpful during our question period, so much so that we made a large purchase and she was able to answer all of our questions. She was able to sense when we had questions and provided her expertise in mixing and matching pillows and colours. She was very professional in suggesting spray protection for the furniture and went over the warranty and what was covered by the warranty and what wasn't. It was a very positive experience. We love La-Z-Boy. The service (Sat 23 Mar 2019) at the 530 Progress Ave location is excellent. We bought our dream leather recliner sofa. All staff were very friendly and spent the time to make sure we got the best deal and what we were looking for. We are totally pleased with our purchase and look forward to the sofa delivery. We are further pleased with the 'full service' delivery fee. Myron and Jessica were amazing. I saw the perfect sofa the moment I walked in, and the net result after a home visit from Jessica was a beautifully designed living dining room, each separated by space and arrangement of the furniture. The presentation at the store was practical and showed the both the chosen and the well selected additional items in my space. I could visualize it easily. I received my recliner on Saturday and I am thrilled. It is very comfortable. Some of the most solidly built, softest comfiest couches around for a reasonable price (esp compared to Restoration Hardware). My girlfriend and I visited many many stores (IKEA, Leon's, the Brick, Structube, Costco, Resto, etc.) before concluding that Lazyboy's comfort and build quality is unbeatable. Our sales associate Janet was incredible - not pushy, but patient and knowledgeable (we came back 3 times before deciding on a sectional). Go and have a sit on the Lazyboy couches, nothing else in this price range even close to compares (seriously).

Myriam and Lulu were very respectful, patient and helpful allowing me time to select the pieces of living room furniture I was interested in as well as making suggestions on pieces to consider. The home designer consultation is efficient and ensures your furniture will fit in your space and colours can work right down to the floor! It really saves time and reduces stress if you aren’t interested is going through the multiple samples to select fabrics and coordinate colours and furniture pieces as well. Looking forward to see our new space!

Visited this show room today. Delt with Janet. She was very helpful and was not pushy at all. She explained the furniture to us and we felt comfortable dealing with her. We did not buy today but are returning to purchase two reclining sofas. Price is a bit high but lazy boy is made in the USA and quality is excellent. Furniture can easily be made to your taste in fabrics and reclining options. Power vs manual. Custom furniture takes 6 weeks. They have an outlet on Keele street in Vaughn. My sister has got some great deals here.

We are very happy with the quality of the service we received and the quality of the furniture. We were warned at the beginning that delivery would be slow. Our only complaint was that we finally received a call from the warehouse saying our furniture had arrived and to call to arrange delivery. Then, when we did, we were told that it would be another 6 weeks before the furniture could be delivered. If they hadn't called us to say that our furniture had arrived, we wouldn't have been so frustrated.

Worst post sales customer service. Purchased a $4,000 sofa bed. Was told at the time of the sale that the sofa would be delivered with home assembly. Was delivered fully assembled and would not fit through our doors. When I called the store, they informed me that there would be an additional $500 assembly fee. Would not wave the fee, given it was clearly their mistake... horrible, returned sofa did receive a prompt refund

Friendly staff. Large selection of quality merchandise Issue #1: some furniture items that are la-z-boy company owned manufacturers (ie: Hammary) are more expensive here than other dealers. Issue #2: I get waiting months for items especially during covid times. But you need to provide customers realistic and updated timelines not over promising -- as now I am just disappointed.

I bought a leather reclining sofa in 2011. It is GARBAGE! Paid about $2500. I replaced it this year but I should have replaced it before it was 5 years old. The leather fell apart and the cushions compressed very quickly. It was SO uncomfortable and causing me back pain. Sitting in an $50 lawn chair is more comfortable than that sofa. DO NOT BUY from this company!!!!
