Decided to check this place out. I'm new to this side of town, so I'm trying to find new places to hike. From what I saw on a short visit, I was impressed. The main trail is paved and connects to other trailhead parking throughout the neighborhoods over here. You can take off from this point and reach O.P. Schnabel in 1.5 miles to make it 3 miles round trip for a good little workout. Great for walking, running, and biking. Trail is plenty wide to accommodate all without feeling like you are going to get run over. I personally like to go off the paved path wherever I go, and there are lots of little trails that shoot off of the paved path. There is lots of wildlife that doesn't seem to spook too easily, so you can take good pictures (birds, squirrels, and deer mostly). This will be a great place for a quick hike and to connect with nature that's close to home when I have limited time.
Restrooms
They have a portable restroom at the beginning of the trail.

We found this gem near our apartment and have made it a routine to walk the trails in the evening. Even during summer, this portion of the greenway isn’t bad because it’s mostly shaded. There is a low water crossing at the trailhead, so I imagine that it would be difficult to cross after a heavy rain. There are always lots of deer grazing at this spot as well. There is a Park Police station adjacent to the newly expanded parking lot. There is always plenty of parking and a port-a-potty in case you gotta go!

Dear Leon Vista Park and Trailhead, Calling you a “great running trail” alone would be an insult..Oh how I long for your twisting roads and endless dirt trails, I could get lost in you. Come to think of it, I did and almost died of thirst! I’ve spent many years getting to know you. You brought me tranquility in a mad world. I hope to come back to you someday and see how much you’ve grown… Sincerely, Michaela

There's a ton more parking here than I originally realized. I saw a lot of people walking, running, and riding their bikes. The cement paths are well maintained. There's plenty of rocky and fun-looking dirt bike paths winding through the trees. This is a great spot to walk the Leon Vista trailhead.

It's a very beautiful place to visit and se deers. Safe place, there's always trail steward's riding around.Stay hydrated because some of the fountains don't work.if you decide to walk be careful of the bikers they can come by very quickly and unnoticed.

Very beautiful A LOT of deer. It has some steep hills so be careful bikers. A lot of trees & i didnt walk the entire thing but it is a decent size! Can be a bit creepy alone so i would say bring a friend. You can go like 10-20 mins without seeing anyone else

This is our favorite walking area. you can go north or south. Both offer nature walking. The walking path is wide and accommodates easy walking. It also offers off-trail walking paths.

I didn't do the length of the trail but intent to go back cuz the off road bike trails seem pretty fun. It rained that weekend which made it fun as well.if like muddy trails .

Great biking and walking trails. Very pet and kid friendly. Don't let the deer scare you! It's a flat trail but it has up to a 7 mile trail. Definitely good for running!

Terrific place to walk, run and ride you bike. There are cement trails and dirt trails. On the dirt trails you feel like you are in a forest.
