Light Years has been judged the best cafe in Melbourne giving us a reason to travel to Hawthorn. A very modern cafe that churns out decent food but anything splendid about it? Naah! Ordered Pork Belly Benedict, Crispy (Almond and Cornflakes) Chicken Burger and Chilli Scrambled Eggs with Grilled Chicken to go with our usual order of Coffee and Hot Chocolate. Flavors = Pretty average, Quality = Good, Pork = Chewy, Coffee = Very Good, Hot Chocolate = Good. Except the freshness of ingredients there's not much to offer as far as innovation is concerned... Something that we wouldn't miss!! Staff are very efficient and smiling. Pricing, based on the taste (and taste only) was a bit too expensive Overrated!!

It was an overall okay experience, but not a great cafe. The server seemed confused and lacked hospitality. It was surprising to see the place empty on a Friday. The food was underwhelming and bland. We ordered the pork Benny and potato croquet which had no flavor and half of the dish was stone cold. The plating was good at deceiving the customer into thinking they were getting good food, but in reality, it was a really disappointing experience. It was not worth a penny.

Lwe were totally satisfied when we visited @lightyearscafe and enjoyed an amazing Brunch spread.. . Starting with the interiors and vibe of the place - it was electric and was so good to see people returning to normality. . Then out of a good menu spread we picked the following: • Tropical And Peanut butter chocolate smoothies • Lightyears Big Breakkie (it is our all time fav) • Pork belly eggs Benedict (never disappoints) • Belgian waffle (satisfaction level top notch) . We had a great time here and would love to return and try other items on their menu. . We would definitely recommend this place.

I tried the Eggs Benny which has a very interesting flavour profile. A smart combination between sweet apple and frozen grapes & creamy rich poached eggs w/ delicious pulled porks The staff was very friendly & hospitable Only note is that the portion is quite small compared to other places

Pork Belly Eggs Benedict

Great spacious cafe with a few outdoor seating around the side. The staff are friendly and lovely. The food, amazing. The bircher muesli is full of fresh fruits making it full of flavour. The pixel avo is so instaworthy, the crispy air dried bits and edamame hummus was to die for. Add a soft shell crab and it's out of this world. I can see why it won Timeout cafe of 2018 Can't wait to come back.

Rating: 10/10 Short Review: Great service, nice belgian waffle. Long Review: Came here at around 10:30 for a late breakfast, and was very pleasantly suprised. Great atmosphere, not too busy, staff were fast and helpful. Food came out in a timely manner, and was delicious. Would recommend.

A decent local cafe with friendly staff, good food and great coffee. We had chilly Scrambled eggs Which was alright. But Avocado Hummus toast was incredible. A must-try item on the menu at this place, a good choice of dish for people who prefer to eat vegetarian.

Nice mid-sized cafe with decent coffee and helpful, friendly staff. Ambience is industrial with exposed concrete, steel, and ducting which is okay if you like that kind of thing. It is quite cold with the cooler weather and the concrete and steel. Food looked good but didn't have anything. Prices were reasonable.

Light years is an awesome cafe in Camberwell. Its stylish concrete floored venue with great food and service to go with it. I recommend the candied bacon.

This place was very good very aesthetic and calm look and the food was very exquisite i got the waffles, and it was very fruity and had a good balance and wasn’t to sweet definitely recommend getting the waffles, the staff was very nice. I've visited Light Years quite a few times. The coffee is always excellent and service is good. I've tried a few things on the menu and enjoyed most of them, although some items are a little bland. I like that you can always get a table, however, as others have mentioned, it's a little cold inside.

Absolutely LOVED this place, I can see why it has so many great reviews and articles! Really recommend booking ahead as it’s quite popular. Staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. Coffee was great and the dishes on offer were exquisite! Definitely coming back again to sample the whole menu!

Always a lovely brunch with very good quality meals. Would like to see the menu change seasonally or diversify a little with more sweet and lunch options. There are mostly egg based meals, 1 fruit, 1 sweet and 1 burger which may not suit everyone's tastes.

Really enjoyed my breakfast at Light Years. Food was delicious and coffee was good. Good options for vegans, vegos and ceoliacs. They took ages for the to get our food to us as they didn't enter it in there system correctly that's the reason it's not 5/5

Surprised to find this gem at Hawthorn East. Great interior design. We have ordered pork belly dish for lunch. It’s okay. I would like to see a really crispy pork belly skin at the other places I tried before. BTW, coffee is good.

Delicious brunch, good service and a nice atmosphere. A great Hawthorn brunch spot. I had the croquettes and the eggs benedict. Both were yum! It was a shame that they had run out of the waffles as it was only 12:30.

If you’re an foodie instagramer, this cafe will be perfect for you. The food presentation is all IG worthy especially the way the avocado is presented. Service and coffee is great, the food is okay.

We only had black coffee here, but I really enjoyed the batch brew. Long black was also decent

Good coffee, efficient service and we got our meals quickly, meals were delicious, fresh and generous. I loved the Bircher muesli in particular. Nice and relaxed atmosphere.
