It was early in the afternoon, and I needed a boost, and needed to ask for the bathroom key, so I got a cappuccino to go, and I'm glad I did. I always forget how good an average cafe in Seattle is, and I'm impressed when one is a little above average, especially when it's as unexpected as a bookstore cafe.
After waiting in line for 20 minutes for an overpriced 12 ounce mocha “to go”, they gave it to me in a “for here” cup. I asked politely if they could put it in a to go cup, and she spilled half of it and handed me the cup half empty without apology. Worst service I’ve ever received at a coffee shop!
Try the pastries here. These are bakery-quality pastries, not cafe-quality. They have an excellent biscuit with butter and jam, and there's a different cake each day of the week, all of them good. The real standout is the almond and fruit teacake, which has a wonderful, marzipan-y texture.
Very cute cafe and a great space to read or study inside Elliot Bay Bookstore. There are many seats in the space, but keep in mind it can quickly get crowed on weekends. It’s a great spot to come by on a weekend morning for a cup of coffee, then walk around the store for new reads. More
If there are seats available, it's a really nice place to get some work done, or meet a friend for coffee. I read in some reviews that the wifi wasn't the best, and although it wasn't as bad as some of the other reviews made it sound, it was definitely slow at times.
Very welcoming and warm environment, tasty coffee, tea and pastries. But the Tuna sandwich was a huge disappointment. Despite of the tase Wich was good, Stale bread, old salad leaves, huge plastic wrap, I don’t recommend it at all and not going to buy any More
For somewhere that caters to people doing work on their laptops you'd think they could invest a little bit extra money in a quality router/internet connection. Both my girl friend and I were unable to access the internet in any form via their wifi.
Could be a really great place to work, but the wifi is a big limiting factor. At best its slow but majority of the time it doesn’t work. Nice cafe, good vibes and great hours but can’t really take advantage of that if you can’t use your computer!
The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was relaxed, warm and inviting. If you go on the weekends, expect a wait. I stood in line for about 15 minutes and another 5 minutes for my coffee. I have been there during the week and it wasn't busy.
Gotta be honest.. I ordered a ham sandwich and some coffee. The ham sandwich was the worst sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. Just like 10 slices of slimy ham on top of each other. And they charged $10 for it. I felt like I was robbed.
Very aesthetically pleasing. A group moved me from my seat because they had the large table reserved, even though they ended up only filling half the seats and left my original spot alone. Once moved, I lost all internet connection and had
Spacious, and fun cafe inside Elliott Bay Bookstore. The drinks and food are tasty, and there's a lot of seating. I only gave 4 stars because it's super busy all the time, so it's loud in the cafe. I recommend bringing headphones if you're
Great space to read or get some work done over a nice cup of chai. Good amount of seating but I only dare come on week days, if I hope to find a nice spot, to set up shop and work for a bit. There's also a good amount of outlets throughout!
Came here on a Friday with a friend to study! We arrived around 4:30pm and all the seats were filled. We managed to nab a table within a few minutes of arrival (thankfully) because someone was just leaving! I didn't order any coffee as it
Perfect spot to get some work done! There are many tables scattered around, many of them with power outlets. The place is quiet, it has great atmosphere, really fun retro classics playing in the background, delicious coffee and to-die-for
Fun find, but not much space and $3.50 for a short shot of espresso. You might get lucky with a table and very lucky if you find one near an outlet. Closed early at 7:30pm and removed everyone from the seating area. That was unfortunate.
I went to this cafe on Friday and it was so cute, and most of the baristas were really sweet but there was one girl with black hair and bangs who was extremely rude to me after I asked about my cold brew. I was a barista for years so Im
The poppyseed muffin was delicious! Not too dry or moist. The latte was good. Spent the day working from here. My main issue was with the WiFi. After lunch, it basically was too slow to do even simple online document editing. I had to
They have a good drink selection, and it's inside a great bookstore, but you should know what you're getting into - they don't want you to stay. The music is loud and the seating is uncomfortable. The food has flies on it. They're not
The food we had was good, the overall customer experience, not so much. The prices for what we ordered ranged from reasonable to you're-kidding-me. TL;DR version: We arrived around 12:30. They were busy, but didn't look slammed.
Very nice new little are inside Elliot Bay Books. Nice coffee. Nice pastries. The new spot is definitely encouraging more people to stay maki it tricker to snag a spot to sit and enjoy your snack. But a nice improvement for sure!
Delicious food and coffee in a wonderful, open and bright Capitol Hill bookstore. The atmosphere here is quiet and relaxed-perfect for waiting on a table at oddfellows or any of the outstanding neighboring brunch spots.
While usually the coffee is alright, I've not ever had great service here. While also working in the coffee field I have a fair expectation of what food service should be and have never had it met here.
Great baked goods, tea and coffee. They also have glutten free friendly items like delicious biscuits and jam. It is a little noisy, but still a good space for a book club meeting or a study group.
I love studying here- such a gem of a place. Their cappuccinos are great, and sometimes they have vegan baked goods as well. I enjoyed a vegan chocolate banana bread my most recent visit. More
Located inside the book store, this is a nice nook to grab a java or small snack. They have free WiFi and bathrooms, but you can't bring in unpurchased books into the cafe.
Nice little cafe in the book store! Perfect ambience for you to buy a book and drink and sit down and relax. Friendly staff and great selection that'll satisfy anybody! More
One of the more expensive cafes on Capitol Hill, the atmosphere is cute and can be worth while if you love books! The blueberry muffin are dank but the coffee is average
Terrific coffee shop, the seats are in a great location in the store and the drinks are great. The staff is friendly too and know how to create a great atmosphere. More
Lovely atmosphere to sip my kombucha while I read my newest book from Elliot Bay. Great selection and the Kombucha On-Tap was super delicious and refreshing.
Hands down my favorite coffee shop! Nestled in the back of Elliot Bay Bookstore, Little Oddfellows feels like an escape from the busyness of Capitol Hill.
Decent cup of tea but they give you additude right off the bat. Guy with long curly hair barely makes eye contact and didn't call out my drink. More
Matcha latte was way too hot and not very flavorful, tasted more like hot coconut milk. Ambiance is nice and good seating options More
Great coffee shop to sit and work or read in Elliot Bay Book Company. Coffee is great. I love the chai and the seattle fog too. More
Whats better than a cute coffee shop with sweet baristas? A cute coffee shop with sweet baristas INSIDE the best bookshop in town.
Cute little coffee shop tucked away in the back of the bookstore. Wonderful coffee and tea, perfect to sip while you shop. More
