Stumbled across this Gem one early morning on my way to work. With the doors opening at 6:30am and the coffee machine dialed in ready to go seemed to be the perfect match for my timely travels to the CBD. As I walked in I heard one of the cyclists amongst a group of them departing telling the Barista "that was a good coffee" with such sincere conviction in his tone. Needless to say my radar went up causing me to think that I must be in the right place. With so many delicious coffee shops in Elwood (because I've tried a few) turning out great coffee I was confident these guys would meet the standard whilst on par with the departing customer's feedback. Bang-on they exceeded my expectations beyond anything I could imagine! That's huge because I know coffee and I know it well!! Ming and Kirin have found their niche and without question produce a consistent quality coffee on each of my daily visits. Definitely Elwood's best coffee indeed! Don't believe me ....... try them and rate them yourself!

Cute lil spot near the beach, staff are always very lovely. Menu has been the same for a while which is nice and reliable. My faves are the granola, the quinoa pancakes and charcoal bun vegan burger. I don't usually sit in as I find it too cramped/ but could also be a great cozy intimate lunch date if that's what you're into. tables aren't big enough to put a laptop on and food, but can fit a ☕ and a if needed!

My housemate and I live next door and it's the best thing in Elwood as we religiously visit this place for a latte. The barista is a craftsman and knows how to make the best coffees consistently. We have given all cafes in the area a go and nothing has ever beaten what he consistently delivers. If you want a great coffee, there's no better cafe than little sunflower. It's also very well price, we wont be going anywhere else!

YES, YES, YES! This little cafe in Elwood grinds beautiful coffee's, amazing food for anyone and everyone and the service is brilliant. There's often a short wait, but that speaks volume for the quality this cafe is putting out. A regular spot when I need my weekly shot of health, try their smoothies and your day will flourish! It's less pretentious than their Elwood neighbour, Combi, too so you can sit and take in the good vibes in a nice genuine atmosphere.

Being Elwood locals, my partner and I have been coming here for years now and it never fails to impress. The vegetarian options are superb. You must try the charcoal bun. You must also try the mushroom bun. Oh and the pancakes!!! Try them too! Actually, just try everything. It’s all amazing. Then wash it all down with a delicious chai latte!

Delicious, nutritious, well-priced meals, snacks and beverages. I come here often and and have tried many of the items on their menu. I've never been disappointed. Their pumpkin bread is amazing! They use very high quality, fresh ingredients and it shows. They also have a beautiful living green wall inside and a cute little courtyard outside. Overall a really nice place for a coffee or a bite.

Fantastic coffee! Great food that's almost homely in taste but fantastic in ingredient selection. Very friendly staff who make you feel welcome. While I was there, quite a few customers came around who the staff knew on first name terms, always a good indication of quality service. And I had two cups of coffee instead of only one, a rule I only break when the coffee is as good as this!

New owners in 2020 the food has gone down hill, it's such a shame. My Raw Granola came it was rock hard, I couldn't eat it, it was in square chunks, even the milk would soften it. The waitress asked if I wanted to change it but her managed stopped her and said its not possible. I went home hungry. Such a shame, in Melbourne cafe seen serving as food isn't going to last.

Easily the worst latte and service I have had in recent memory. Originally ordered an almond latte and it came burnt, acidic, watery, and curdled. Sent it back immediately and asked for a regular latte to be safe. It was extremely weak and bland at best. When I went to pay they tried to charge for both lattes. Upon paying and leaving, I realized they short changed me.

Lovely little cafe in Elwood - we came here for Saturday brunch. I had the sweet potato roesti and my boyfriend had the avacado and beetroot on sourdough. Both were delicious. Great variety for people with special dietary requirements. Loads of vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, dairy free etc. options on the menu. Looking forward to coming back next time I'm in Elwood!

  • Jackie Brown

Amazing food. Great Vegan and Vegetarian variety. They do also have meat if you can't go without. This is a cute little cafe, with yummy coffee, friendly staff and delicious food. The menu uses some unique ingredients, with lots of nutritional benefit. This is a great spot for brunch. They have limited outdoor dining.

Very good coffee. Best in Elwood. And l have tried them all. Husband and wife team doing a great job. Very attentive. I wish they served muffins. Perhaps l am lucky they don't. No longer have the news paper which for me is a disappointment. Go here twice a week on weekends and look forward to the coffee.

Excellent Chai! After a disappointing meal at Turtle Cafe, came here for tea. Stayed for 2 chais! Edited to add: I returned here today to try lunch. Was not disappointed! Soba noodle Buddha Bowl was tasty with lots of variety of flavours. Credit to the 2 staff (owners?). I love the plant wall!

It’s great to see more and more little places opening up to help cater for the vegan gluten free community! Please stop advertising on Instagram that you are plant based whole foods whilst you continue to use the flesh of dead pigs, and dead salmon. It’s misleading and disrespectful to the life of those poor souls! …

5 stars for the food, absolutely delicious healthy meals and well presented. But place itself looks so untidy, fabric chairs covered with stains, dirty walls and ceiling fan will thik layers of dust (luckily was off). Hopefully, the owner will refresh the place and will keep it clean, till then won't come back.

  • Aimelyne Romeu

Very disappointed...very expensive for the salad breakfast which isn’t a lot of food basically leaves...and just a fiew pieces of bacon...coffee is good but unfortunately would not recommend due to price and value for food...need more generous proportion...coffee was very good though.

  • Emma F

I wish I lived in Melbourne, this cafe is incredible. Fresh, healthy, diverse ingredients. A lot of things house made. Gorgeous bright yellow interior, happy staff. You should try their home made kimchi and baked breads. We had two salad bowls and they were packed with goodness!

  • kristian thomas

Great coffee and healthy, organic themed breakfast menu that is not pretentious with great decor and friendly and helpful staff. Although healthy themed cafes aren't really my thing I will happily eat here any time as this is my gf's favourite cafe in Elwood. Highly recommend.

  • Hazel Martin

Fantastic service, they always seem to remember your choice of food! They even remembered us from our last UK visit, 3 years ago. Has the best soy latte and food is absolutely amazing, fresh and served with love ❤

I was sold when I walked in to see the amazing green wall. I was even more please when I had a perfect coffee. When my food came I was blown away. This cafe is perfect in every way except it’s not closer to my house. What a little Gem. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Absolutely the BEST veg options I found while traveling in Melb! Tried a few other places, but came back here almost every day. It’s so cute and the food is healthy, delicious, and they serve up really well sized portions.

  • Clarissa Chia

Cute cafe and staff are friendly. The food is delicious as well. My favourite would be the warm bowl of Sri Lankan curry and their dessert (picture not included) something along the lines of black bean rice is delicious.

  • Blair B

Used to come here with previous owners, amazing location and atmosphere.. now… the staff appalling. I get that hospitality is tough and tiring, but no smiling, no warmth, no care.

One of my favourite locals for breakfast. Coffee is good, and adore the potato roesti w/ poached eggs (and a side of bacon doesn't hurt). The rear courtyard is small but a great hidden spot if you have a small group.

  • Yu Ronald

I am not that type of vegatarian. I love meat, gluten, and don't care about organic food. But this restarant is very good. It is an vege-theme cafe with good food, friendly staffs, and harmonic atmosphere. Love it.

  • Bree English

I am a granola fanatic and this beautiful cafe has the best granola I have ever seen and tasted in my life Highly recommend !! So happy this slice of heaven has opened up right across the road from my work ! …

  • Emma

We are here every Sunday morning! The two owners are so kind, the food is delicious (the pumpkin toast is amazing!), and the Buzz smoothie is my favourite! I will always support this beautiful family run cafe!

  • Andrew Hedge

Great coffee, friendly service, not your boring standard brekky menu but very well done options that will leave you satisfied. Gets busy around - 10.30 on the weekend - get in before that to avoid a short wait

  • CM

Great coffee and a team that try hard. Food is maybe lacking a professional execution or flair and presentation. Still good and tasty but in a world of clever cafes and brunches maybe not complying very well.
