I would give this a solid 4 stars but on this day there were a few things that just didn’t warrant it. Customer Service 3 Stars - Friendly greeting on arrival. Got coffee order wrong - we asked for cream on the side and received milk. After getting breakfast we were completely forgotten, no clearing table, no would you like another coffee. (We were in outside area but first thing in the morning Sun so hardly anyone there). To get a second coffee we had to go inside and order ourselves even though people by this time were be seated around us. So a little disappointing on the day. Coffee 3 Stars - Ordered the large long black with cream on the side. Ok as already stated we got milk instead of cream but the COFFEE was fantastic. Strong, hot and smooth. Very nice. After breakfast ordered a Macchiato, this was not great, not hot, not in a clear glass and bitter - pictured is a large, umm no. Food 4 Stars - Ordered Wagyu rump steak and eggs and Miso pork belly. The presentation was fantastic as was taste. Really delicious! We also ordered Crumpets by Merna. Really nice. Honey though seemed to be watered down or blended with Maple Syrup maybe? Ordered muffins - these were ok but a bit dry, tasted nice though. Value for money 3 1/2 Stars - I felt the portion sizes were adequate but for the price they were top end. (Now its not about a full plate as the breakfasts were delicious). The wording i felt a little deceived: Wagyu rump steak and eggs but it only comes with 1 egg. Read on in the description and it does say fried egg. So a little confusing. Devore 4 1/2 stars - really nice place. Clean and inviting. Toilets were spotless. This feels a little harsh at 3 stars, so will come back in a couple of months and update our review.

Tasty & delicious it was. Filling & fulfilling it was. Fulfilling my inner most desire to be lifted by a digestive dance with the perfect soul lifting food. Deviantly deliciously, the kitchen crew created & plated perfection.✨️ Served with a smile & right on time⏳️, all staff I encountered today were great. All diligently working together, taking pride in their agenda, they all come together to give A +++ service & digestive pleasure.✨️ So the highest of praise I give to you all. I would like to express our gratitude to Locavore Catering for Catering our wedding in Yarra Glen, January 2022. The amazing food, catering, and service to us on our wedding day was exceptional! We can hardly find the words to express how deliciously mouth-watering the food was, the aesthetically pleasing presentation, tantalising smell and how memorable the taste was. All of our guests were raving about the food, how it was one of the best wedding meals they have ever had; no one was left hungry that’s for sure. One of our vegan guests was overwhelmed (in the best way) with the selection of food that she was almost full with the main course by the time her dietary specific meal reached her, though with no hesitation it was devoured. Everyone had their food requirements met and loved the food so much. The food and service by Locavore staff was absolutely superb and we are so satisfied with our choice in having this wonderful team cater for our guests. The menu selection is phenomenal and I cannot speak highly enough for all of their time, email correspondence and planning that went into our day. We are so thankful and grateful that Locavore also provided us with a wedding cake, which was absolutely amazing and exceeded our expectations (given we weren’t able to do a tasting due to covid). We loved the food so much and cannot speak more highly of Locavore.

Locavore Nights There aren’t enough stars to match my experience at Locavore's new night eatery in the heart of Lilydale. This spectacular venue has set a new benchmark for fine dining in the outer eastern suburbs. They proudly incorporate the freshest local ingredients into every well thought out detail of the dish and the smallest of touches don’t go unnoticed. The food experience is equally matched with a cleverly designed cocktail menu which is paired perfectly to the menu. I have no doubt that in due course, the secret will be out and everyone will want to experience this new shining star. Highly reccomend for small groups and special date nights when wanting to impress. Must try - Lamb Ribs, melt in your mouth, so tender! Well done to the team behind Locavore nights. It's obvious there's been serious thought and care behind the whole dining experience Will be back soon ❤️

Have to call few times to order our foods and the waitress just keep walking passed casually. Ordered bowl of chips with aoli on the menu but served with nothing and when I asked she come back with tomato sauce instead so I asked again she said will get it but never comeback. My son ordered scrambled eggs on toast an the waitress asked if he needs the cutlery and she only give 1 set of cutlery for us so me and hubby has to use hand to eat our food as we just don’t bother asking again. I saw few tables getting frustrated as well as they didn’t get attention from the wait staff to order and didn’t get what they needed. They keep saying that they are very busy but from what i have seen they have more than enough staffs (6-7 on the floor) to get the job done just need some more effort and efficiency

After a pleasant stay in Lilydale our group of 4 wanted a good cafe experience to leave on. We got it. It was already popular at 10am on this Sunday - plenty of seats (in and out) meant no wait. The peak hour was 10.30 to 11.30 We stayed long enough to see the numbers ease off by noon. Food was colourful and tasty. Coffee (long black) was excellent. Staff were smiley and friendly and efficient. This place has a 4.5 rating currently. This would be my rating if you could give half marks. Adjoining the cafe is a providore offering all sorts of fun stuff like cheese, pastries, jams and other tasty looking treats made locally. They are not cheap. What they are is good quality and worth paying extra for.

On the Main Street with plenty of parking out the front. It was quite busy for a Monday with a steady stream of people. However, there was no issue getting a seat; plenty of seating inside and out. Service was okay but some things missed. Staff were really friendly though. There were plenty of menu items to choose from. Our meals were a little disappointing though and lacked a little flavour, although they looked amazing. Coffee was good. Menus desperately need to be replaced as they’re hard to read and look really shabby. We sat in the window seat and on this cooler Melbourne Spring day, it was quite hot. I could imagine in the summer it would be worse.

After waiting for somewhere to have dinner in lilydale, these guys delivered, showcasing the locavore catering menu , we where told the catering team don’t have many weddings at the moment so wanted to share there wedding fare with us all, far out if that’s what they deliver at weddings, then tell you guys get in on these guys for all your catering needs. You will not be disappointed, the catering team are filling the gaps before they open for dinner, can’t wait to see what is to come, Locavore catering dinner was amazing, food, service and cocktails Food high light barramundi with sweet and sour walnuts, they did have a name for it. Fantastic little cafe with some amazing bakery items, their sourdough bread is the best I have had, the cakes I have tried are always superb. After buying their bread for a couple of years I finally tried their meals last week and they were both very good, creative ingredients, good size and most importantly delicious taste. Menu is quite small, more towards breakfast dishes but usually some tasty lunch type dishes too. Coffee was good as was the service, Yet another excellent cafe for Lilydale keep up the good work Locavore. Photo is their pressed pork, eggs Benedict made with burnt butter and topped with pork floss, fantastic combo.

Friendly service, warm and inviting new fit out and delicious food. We had the feed me option which was well priced, especially since we walked away full! It was apparent that a lot of love and thought went into creating the menu. You wouldn't know they have only been open a few weeks for dinner as the food came out at a perfect pace and the presentation and flavours were exceptional.

GREATEST CAFE ON THE STRIP In my humble opinion this is the best of a very good bunch of cafes along this stretch of the high street. They just have the best eye for detail in the produce and the service. The barista quality is top notch and as good as any in the city. The food has always got an interesting twist in the flavours that is novel but not weird. In the autumn or spring there is a very spacious dining area out the back/side.

On Main St in Lilydale, we visited Locavore for the first time this morning with our one year old. My batch brew was phenomenal (v60 pour over)and my wife's chai was great. My eggs benny was a little too rich in the meat sauce and so I left a third on the plate, but the smashed avo with extra egg was delightful. Limited seating inside, but outdoor seating in the open and under a marquee is available with some heating. We'll visit again for coffee if nothing else.

Disappointed with this cafe. Great presentation, very interesting menu. Staff friendly....waited 30 mins for our food. Asked how much longer and potentially another 15 or so minutes. No apologies, just that there was a lot of orders. I think we were overcharged for 2 non alcoholic drinks (on me cos I didn't check). Anyway the place was busy and they probably do a great meal. We'll have another go I guess

Ever since being refurbished this cafe has gone downhill. Used to be my local go-to. Now you stand at their window with staff staring at you but no service for 5 minutes. Pathetic and no longer convenient for take away. No outdoor undercover area any more also a huge disappointment. Overall service is rude too. Will not return

Staff lovely however disappointing serving size of cake. Priced at $8 per slice and coming in at the end of the brunch period I would’ve expected the cafe to give a decent sized piece of cake. The cake was also not pre-sliced so that’s not the problem here. Either poor cutting skills or very expensive cheesecake. Not sure I’d return too soon as I can get better value elsewhere. Slice roughly 5cm at thickest point.

The new fittout looks amazing, the staff are all very welcoming and provide great service. We had Jessie & Locavore cater our wedding recently and it was incredible. The food was spectacular & the staff were so helpful and friendly. Every guest was blown away by the flavour and couldn't stop raving about each dish. The grazing station set up for arrival was a true marvel also. Thanks so much for your help guys. Got a scroll to take away. Tasted stale, dough was dry and not much flavour. Has bueberry and pistachios filling but for some reason a few small chunks of olives got mixed in as well... They were really good previously but very disappointed this time and probability will not go back again.
