I ordered a large pozole and an order of chile cheese fries. It took them about 40 minutes to bring the food to my table. The menu says that the chile cheese fries could be red or green, I ordered Christmas (both). When they brought them, they were just generic foodservice fries with some sort of weird, gross brown gravy on top, which I guess was supposed to be the two chiles with queso or melted cheese. $7.99 for this?? Wienerschnitzel has much better looking and tasting chili jalapeño fries for half the price. The pozole is the worst I have ever had in my life (I am Mexican, born and raised in Mexico). The meat was ok even though having pozole with huge chunks of meat is new for me, the meat (pork, chicken) is supposed to be shredded. Also, no fixings. None. No oregano, no chili powder, no shredded lettuce, no radish, no chopped onion, no tostadas. The only thing I appreciated as a "fixing" were 2 lime wedges that came with the bowl of pozole. All the red broth contained was hominy (garbanzo) and the meat. $14.00 for this. Also, the servers kept walking past me and they never offered to refill my drink, I had to ask the person who brought my food to the table. When you pay, the cashier/hostess (you pay at the front) awkwardly asks you how much of a tip you want to leave, 15%, 20%, 25%, pointing at a screen she flipped to show me the options. I really felt like leaving $1.00 because the service was very questionable, but I told the cashier to tap on 15%. I am not in favor of these bullying tipping tactics. Food wasn't good, service was questionable at best, it took them too long to have the food ready, you are bullied to leave a significant tip even if the service wasn't good. I won't be back.

We have been waiting for years to go to this restaurant. We're never in the area and we've never gone to try it and we finally did. I just wish I took more pictures. I meant to take pictures of everyone's plates and I was so hungry that I forgot to take the pictures. The atmosphere is so heartwarming and rememberable. It's in an Old Village in that still looks the same from back in my childhood. All Village Inns have remodeled with all of the fancy-dancy lights and everything. This was what I grew up with when going too many Village Inns as a kid and as a teenager. To talk about the food. The salsa and chips were just wonderful. They're green chile is awesome. The red Chile it's good but it could be better. The taco was awesome with a very delicious meat called Desebrada. What is so nice is, the garnish is not bagged lettuce. Fresh lettuce and tomatoes cut by hand. The french fries are hand-cut just like you got back in the day at restaurants. They were cooked to perfection. We also had a chile relleno that everyone tasted and it was very good. The rice and beans were superb. The rice is Fluffy and perfectly cooked. Everyone was happy with their meal. One person got the papa taco and they weren't very pleased with it. The service was absolutely Pleasant and friendly. We will definitely go back and try there are other food items.

We love this place. The food is pricey but it's worth it. I love other Mexican restaurants but this one has become my new favorite one. Especially because of the servings. Just wish they would make the guacamole better. Less salt. Just tastes like mashed avocado with salt. Mom used to make it with jalapeno, tomato and onion all diced with a little bit of lettuce. I know it gets busy but they can make it taste better. Especially for how expensive the food is.

Best Mexican place in town! Idk why I even venture out to other places. Other places in town are more expensive and they are less quality. This place is ALWAYS on point. evey time I come. Chile Relleno is always crunchy. The food is always cooked fresh to order. I cant believe this place doesn't charge more for the quality you get. Absolute gem! You wont regret it. Plate shown in pic (my fav dish): #12 combo with Taco (I already ate the Taco) with Enchilada and Chile Relleno. Also try the stuffed Sopapilla with Carna Asada. You won't regret it. Everything on the menu is amazing. The sodas are even extra carbonated and taste better than other restaurants.

I wasn't the most impressed with this one. The food was, "ok". Our appetizer was, at best, warm. The food was pretty generic, not quite flavorful. Our waitress was far less than attentive, at least to us. She was right on top of it with everyone else around us. We had to ask for flatware twice. The fella they had attending to drinks and chips and salsa was pretty great, though. He was attentive to everyone and very polite. I don't see any reason I'll be going back. There are far too many really great places in Albuquerque.

We have been to a lot of New Mexican restaurants in Albuquerque . Hands down this is our new favorite. This was our first visit. According to our taste the food is the most flavorful and delicious. I can't believe how perfect the Spanish rice is. If you haven't tried them you don't know what your missing. We found out what we were missing. Great meal!

Visited this place as a recommendation from a friend while at a conference in Albuquerque. The food and service were good. Not much more of a description needed as it's a Mexican restaurant. It's relatively authentic. Really enjoyed the service and friendly faces. Not too far off with a light walk from Old Town Albuquerque. If you are a tourist taking public transportation, I would recommend avoiding route 66. That bus route is out of control, or at least be prepared for a really interesting ride. This is coming from a person that uses Houston public transportation.

Ate here for a late lunch, around 2. Was not busy at all. Waited on right away, and thel food came out quickly. Waitress was very pleasant. They give you free chips & salsa to start. My husband had the small bowl of Posole, and it was huge! I got a combination plate with rice,beans,taco, enchilada, and a chili relleno. All were good.

It's been three long years since I've been here. Can't remember why I stopped but I did. This afternoon I returned. The menudo was insanely flavorful with just the right amount of tripe! A lot!! Serving was huge and of course, I thankfully brought the rest home. My son got the bountiful Tio Borracho breakfast and it looked amazing! He ate every last bit! The food was just ok. I got the combo fajitas(shrimp and chicken) and my husband had the burrito plate with beans as the protein. Not too much flavor with the fajitas to be honest. Would have loved if they were severed with corn tortillas instead of flour. I did enjoy the horchata. Server forgot to bring us our appetizer we ordered. Chips and salsa are just ok. I was hoping for a more authentic dining experience here.

Nice and clean restaurant, it was cold in there just like all the other places. The food was good, they carry a Senior menu which was perfect for me. The Service people were on it, they were always asking if we needed anything. As people would leave they were there cleaning up right away. Very nice restaurant.

Not do I love this place. the employees are so friendly we got the pleasure of dealing with one of the cuter ones there today he has an awesome smile and laugh and definitely can make your day much better. Ordered delivery through DoorDash and my only complain about that was we never received our drinks. Aside from that the food was very delicious. Im not used to smothered tamales but boy were they good. The green and red chile sauces are equally delicious. The pozole, was really good also. The meat was tender and the broth wasnt too spicy, it was perfect. I definitely want to try their menudo before I leave the area.

Once seated, took 25 minutes for someone to take our order. Wait staff spent most of that time chatting in the corner. Food is great, but also found a fingernail in a quesadilla. I normally get food pics but not this time. Wait time was way longer than I hoped so we are immediately. Definitely delicious food. Flavored well, good temp n all, decent quantity for very reasonable prices. But we were served after quite a few people that came in after us. And while they ALMOST got our orders right, I think they misheard my husband and gave him a CHICKEN burrito when he wanted chicharrones.

This a solid and affordable place. I had the huecos rancheros, which didn’t look or taste like it, but it was not bad. It was less than 7 bucks and the place was half full by 830, half an hour after opening time. A good sign. Seemed full with locals. The area they are in is a little rough looking, trailer park and all. Recommended for a local, affordable New Mexican style meal

This is a great local restaurant. With great flavor and zest to its food. Staff is very friendly. If you're looking for good New Mexican food and flavor this is the place to be. this restaurant is located in the new up-and-coming area of old Town. The restaurant can get very busy but your food will come out nice and fresh is what worth it. thank you for a good experience.

This restaurant is amazing! Local, family owned with great service. I ordered chicken and shrimp fajitas and they are delicious and sold at a fair price. We also got dessert the chimi cheesecake which is deep fried cheesecake and I crave it all the time now! Definitely recommend eating here!

I've been here twice now and they've screwed up my order both times. 1st time I was in the restaurant and they were out of steak so they just made me a fajita burrito instead. I said ok.

Very loud opera like music, French fries tasted old at least a day, enchiladas were tiny. And the "sauce" was apparently red chili. The chili had the consistency of hot sauce. Avoid.
