Beautiful spot! My partner and I stopped here after a big morning walk, had the best veggie pie with a side of relish.. plus a donut yum would highly recommend! Also bought a few lavender products (which they sell from near by lavender farm) for gifts which was an added bonus. Huge car park with good facilities, good for families.

Delicious poached egg with Avo for late lunch but bit of a wait. Self service with cutlery. Order, pay & wait patiently. Also had lovely almond friand with frothy cappuccino. Surcharge is quite hefty on weekends. Either sit in or alfresco. Pretty busy on Sat 6 Oct - I had to park in the Lavender farm car park at the back. More

This is always our go to bakery every time we head down to Redhill. Given the easy, delicious pie options, tasty desserts, and cozy ambiance, there is plenty of space for picnics or tables to dine at. When it was lavender season, it was beautiful there. The only downside is that their pies often run out quickly. More

We went to have breakfast. The place is beautiful and the staff is super friendly. The coffee was great, too. The only thing is that the kitchen was closed and we couldn't get any fresh food so we had a croissant and a salad. The croissant was good, but the salad was too oily and didn't sit well on us. More

This place had some of the best pastry that I have ever had. We got the croissant and chocolate cookie and they were both to die for. The scenery and location of this cafe make it an amazing and beautiful experience to eat here. A must see if you are a foody and want to see the wonders of the peninsula.

It was a rainy afternoon and we couldn’t get a covered seat outside #COVID but the bakery absolutely lovely! Long time fan of the chicken & tarragon pie! Also got a lemon cruffin for later on. Parked near the lavender fields, had our cosy pie in the car and couldn’t be more content!

Something's happened, and they're not supplied by Johnny Ripe anymore. Pies, pasties and sausage rolls are no better than a common bakery now, and certainly not worth the trip up or the price. The kitchen wasn't open either, the relish is still great though. More

Very nice pie. Surprisingly. The car park is plenty so no worries. The place is cosy, worth to travel a bit to do a pit stop here if u passing by. The staff is friendly. I had a chicken and vegetable pie, it was served with some vegetables and sauce. Really good.

Absolutely beautiful surroundings! The food was delicious - there were a range of fresh gourmet salads, pastries, pies and drinks. There were lots of outdoor tables for picnics. The staff were friendly and eager to please. The croissants were incredible!! More

First time visiting Johnny Ripe and I can say that I’m definitely satisfied overall. The prices weren’t too wild and the food was tasty and served in well sized portions. Well worth a stop in if you find yourself in the area for breakfast or brunch.

I’ve come here for many years; it’s always a stop in when I’m near red hill. The apple pies are delicious. This visit however, the service was really lacking. There were staff standing around, it took a long while to get someone to take our

The menu is small and not much choice for vegetarian and vegan. Coffee was good and more of a bakery style Cafe, where they have lots of pies selling for $9.50 each and pastries. 4 salads to choose from for $9 small and $16 large. I ordered

Incredible bakery with the finest selction of baked goods in Victoria, easily. The chunky beef pie (topped with their homemade relish) is succulent yet crisp, and absolutely delish. Pictured also is their salad and their gingernut cream. On

Honestly, I was quite disappointed this visit. I've always been a big fan of Johnny Ripe and I've recommended it to many people. We were looking forward to the pastries this morning but was a little let down by the quality of the food. We

Wondering if they have change management? Purchased the stock standard sausage roll and vanilla slice. Both were different! The old sausage rolls were a lot bigger. The filling was a lot more in the old one and would be a good lunch meal

had the Harvest Bowl, love the combination of beet roots, purple carrots, pumpkin seeds, chick peas, black sesame etc. Feels healthier eating this already. Prana chai latte on the other way was not good, lacks spices, tastes more like a

Setting and staff were pleasant enough, however when we had driven an hour for afternoon tea I at 3pm was very disappointed to be told they were not serving coffee, tea or any hot drinks and kitchen was closed even though it was an hour

Good coffee, food was good but serving size is a bit on smaller side. Service was ok, the indoor and outdoor seating areas were nice. Order at the counter with your table number and they bring it out to your table.

  • Brando The Pig

A must visit bakery if you are in the area. The pies here are pretty sensational with amazing pastry and flavour. My second favourite was the creme brulee tart followed by the signature apple pie and donut. So good

Beautiful place and friendly staff! My family and I enjoyed ourselves very much. The meat pies were delicious, fillings were tender, crust was superb, and portions were very generous. Would definitely visit again.

  • Phil Malone

Great pies and pastries, especially the small apple pies. Homely atmosphere with plenty of seating inside and outside and fast and friendly service. We'll be back on next visit to the Peninsula.

  • Jo Hatcliffe

Very atmospheric & lovely scrumptious light meals. Very busy between 12pm til 2pm. So try going outside of those times. Also has a takeaway section for their wonderful homemade pies...etc.

  • Sophie Liang

We enjoyed some delicious homemade chunky pies next to a cosy fire. We had beef & rosemary, chicken & tetragon, and fish pies, with a heavenly apple pie to finish. Great coffee, too!

  • Kerry T

Loved the toasties and pastries here at Johnny Ripe. Would definitely come back for the pulled pork toastie. Beautiful outdoor seating with plenty of room for kids to run around.

  • Ewen Stewart

Nice hidden away spot . Great place to have a picnic especially when the lavender is out. They do a range of meals from pies to salads. Used to be a bakery before moving here.

  • Danielle H

Great service, food was amazing. Warm and Smokey wood fired atmosphere. Pancakes were unreal and the avocado egg toast was so flavourful! Oh and GREAT coffee! More

  • Lisa Moodley

Excellent cafe. Delicious pies and treats. Really great place to stop by with kids. There's lots of space to run around and there's toys out. Highly recommend!

  • Emily O'Connell

My husband and I held our wedding reception in late April 2019 at Johnny Ripe (formerly Main Ridge Harvest) and it was the perfect regional venue.

  • Fern Murphy

Coffee great but food overpriced for quality and amount you get. Nothing special. $18 for 1 slice of dry sourdough with sides at extra cost. More

  • Echo Ye Fullerton

Best apple pie! Best fish pie! Get there early on the weekend. The avo on toast and chilli scramble on toast were tasty too. Friendly staffs.

  • MRH

OMG...perhaps the best Eggs Benedict I've ever had. This is a lovely place to visit. Great food and some lovely gifts to buy as well. More

  • Aidan Kendrick

Just my own opinion. Feel free to come up with your own. Considering the price for a sausage roll and salad I expect to be more impressed

  • Two Sheds

4.6. If this isn’t the best cafe on the peninsula, it’d be mighty close. It’s not perfect but there is certainly plenty to admire here.

  • Daniel Tan

IMHO, the best chunky beef pie in the whole of Victoria. The crust is buttery and crispy and the beef is tender and succulent.

  • Ajit Taggarse

Drove an hour to taste the fish pie. Wow Nice and warm with full of mild flavours of celery, zucchini, cheese, salmon, barramundi.

  • Ateli Miorin

Our first time eating here. We absolutely enjoyed everything. We will definitely be back. Thankyou again for your service. More
