Your Piccadilly Branch, Manchester!!!! Just over an hour ago, I spoke to a red headed chap who was at the one & only counter (!) that is not self service. He proceeded to tell me to use the self service tills. I told him I had problems with my eyes so he then pointed out an assistant to me. She did the transaction but as I was leaving I noticed that she had charged me for an extra madeira cake (£2.00). She then took the receipt to the red headed chap whom I presume was the manager & they sorted out the refund. However, I asked her VERY POLITELY why she had not apologised for her error. She looked at me blankly and I repeated my question again smiling very politely. I pointed out that had I walked out and realised the mistake later I would have had no proof of the mistake she had made. She tuen apologised & I smiled at her, accepted the apology and was about to walk out when said red headed chap decided to wade in to show, presumably, his manly support of his staff by saying it was a mistake!! Of course it was a mistake but she was grown up enough to have known to automatically apologise but didn't. Red headed male version of a 'Karen' then proceeded to tell me I was being aggressive. I asked him if I had raised my voice at her, he said I had not however it was in my TONE - apparently!! So the lesson of today is....... no matter how calm & pleasantly you point out a mistake, you, the customer, will be to blame. Is this the right way to train your Managers, Marks & Spencer

Never in my life have I been prompted to write a review for a supermarket before but oh my god??? I've never been treated so badly by a member of staff anywhere but here. The girl supervising the self checkouts was so rude and entitled I honestly just stood there half the time with my mouth open in shock. All it was was that the card machine wasn't working properly. First of all she very rudely insisted it was my card that was the problem. I tried it a couple more times and it didn't work. She rolled her eyes and SNATCHED MY CARD OUT OF MY HAND girl.... As predicted it didn't work and she had to admit it was the machine and take me to a different till where it worked right away but dear god this woman acted like I'd just stabbed her grandma. So so so rude and unprofessional.

We were trying some jaguar coats and left one coat on the shelf. There came a lady staff says the coats are very expensive and we need to go in the fitting room to try it on properly. We said well go right away. But the lady kept repeating for like 5 times exactly the same words although we keep saying we get it and we’ll do it right away… it really felt like the lady staff wasn’t happy and took it off on us.

As I'd expect from M&S, amazing food and choice, but unfortunately seems that clothes are getting more fuddy duddy as time goes on. I used to buy clothes there, but nothing of interest now

M&S MCR is full of wonderful product helpful staff. Brilliant for a quick shop.
