STAY AWAY from these movers. Do your research on companies like this one and note the several very negative reviews on this site. I wish I had. Instead, as a 65+ single woman I feel taken advantage of and have been told by Chris, the operations manager who is very good at twisting words, that in fact I must be the reason for the difficulties with my move, not them. * Move was local, North Portland to Clark County, only furniture/heavy items. * 2 movers who came were pleasant but came without any tools, seemed inexperienced (I’ve moved several times, mostly cross country) and were slow. Using my few manual tools instead of the usual power tools slowed progress even more. * The movers disassembled 1 platform bed and reassembled it incorrectly but couldn’t figure out what was wrong. When I showed them what was wrong and that it had to be disassembled again and redone they seemed angry, but throughout the move did not want my input and did not ask questions ahead of time. * A second platform bed could only be partially disassembled and then not fully reassembled due to lack of a necessary tool but they took a long time trying then said it would be stable as is(??) and left me with the extra pieces. * The movers were not honest to Chris about the extra time I ended up paying for due to rework and lack of tools but instead blamed me for I’m not sure what. Guess who Chris listened to. * When I first described the contents to be moved to one of the owners, I specifically mentioned a very floppy latex mattress (no brand name) that was difficult to work with and needed support, as I knew from a previous move. At that point, questions and perhaps a reference to a moving company better able to deal with this issue would have been great but there was no follow up. The movers were totally unprepared to work with the mattress, despite my trying to preempt the issue in advance. The mattress was quite damaged.

Master Movers in Portland, OR, provided an excellent experience in moving us from just outside of Portland, OR, to just short of the Canadian border in Washington (August 2021). From start to finish this was a quality experience. It began with a couple of phone calls to explore our options. The lady on the phone was superb -- very friendly and helpful. It was because of the encounter with her that I was biased in favor of working with Master Movers. Subsequently, Brent came to our home to make an estimate. He was very helpful in giving advice on what we should do to prepare for the move. The price seemed fair and he was able to get a moving date that was just right for us. Moving day brought Dwayne (Sonny) and Greg with a crew of 3 more. Sonny (driver and "boss" for the move) was very friendly, efficient, and no-nonsense. He made the day much easier on all with his great humor interesting conversation. He kept the schedule on time drove off almost to the minute of what he suggested would be the time of departure. Sonny and Greg arrived promptly at our new home the next morning around 8 a.m. The unloading process was as painless as the loading back in Oregon. Greg and Sonny were the only workers at the unloading end of the project. They worked hard and steadily and were a pleasure to be around. The job was completed appropriately. The final bill was significantly less than the estimate. Unfortunately, there was some damage suffered in the move, but Sonny and Brent gave us very good information on filing claims. The insurance company was excellent and did make an appropriate settlement in a timely fashion. We were very pleased with our experience with Master Movers and the team we worked with. We highly recommend them.

Save yourself the time and just call Master Movers. DO NOT fill out those generic “I’m moving” things and have your info blasted out and your time wasted. From the initial phone call Brent was professional and scheduled a home visit a day or so later. He came over, was professional, friendly, and was on the nose with his weight estimate. He knows what he is doing. His communication was top notch and was always on stand by with any questions I had. When it came to loading I had Duane(sonny), Keith, and Diego load. Duane(sonny) was surgical in inventory and tracking everything while Keith and Diego packed my belongings with care and precision. Beyond their excellent service they were great guys and made the process of moving as enjoyable as it could be, even with having two dogs, a cat, and a 2 month old at home. When it came to unloading Duane(sonny) was on time and got right to work . Him and Antonio unloaded at my destination with the same care they took loading. They were quick, efficient, and again made the moving experience the easiest it could have been. Master Movers is honest, transparent, and will be there the whole way through regardless of the size and distance of your move. Hats off to the entire crew. I don’t plan on moving again any time soon but when I do I know who I am calling, Master Movers. Couldn’t be happier.

Our moving process began with a phone call and the a meeting was set up with Brent Barnes, who is the moving coordinator. I liked Brent right away and really felt that he truly was invested in providing me with the best experience possible. He is extremely knowledgable and explains things clearly and concisely and is a pro at calming nerves!! He made himself available by phone to answer any questions and concerns I had right up until (and including!) the day of our move. So, bright and early in the AM Josh came over to get a jump on inventorying all our stuff....furniture, appliances, boxes (lots of boxes!!!) etc. Shortly thereafter the rest of the crew showed up with the truck. Over the next several hours, Sonny, Luna, Bucky and Josh consolidated, wrapped, protected and hauled everything out to the truck where everything was stowed in such a manner that our three bedroom house and garage along with items in a storage unit all fit securely in a 26 ft truck. It was quite the endeavor and amazing to watch. They were constantly communicating with me to insure that no mistakes were made. These guys worked so hard with only a couple of breaks, were friendly, helpful and unfailingly polite. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone planning a move. They lowered my stress level a hundred fold and saved our backs. Thanks guys!!!

Really happy with Master Movers. I reached out to them online on a Saturday. Promptly Monday morning, Brent followed up via email and a phone call Tuesday for more details. After figuring out a date, Sarah contacted me the day before moving to finalize details. On the day of moving, Tommy and Greg arrived promptly. I did a short walkthrough with Tommy as to what needs to be moved (which included breaking down and assembling two beds). After the walkthrough, Tommy and Greg started moving stuff right away. Additionally, Master Movers provided wardrobe boxes, which meant we did not have to remove anything from its hangers. Tommy and Greg continued to move everything through the morning. After driving to our new home, they unloaded promptly and moved everything to the labeled (or directed rooms). They navigated both homes (new home with stairs) well and there was no damage to furniture or the homes. For larger furniture, they wrapped it up to ensure that everything stays clean and in shape. I'd be happy to use them again.

My Family hired Master Movers. We saw their Moving Van helping our neighbor move out of their home. We took their number and hired them to move stuff out of a rental property for a tenant in June. Then we hired them to move a month later. Both times we had Johnnie and Jake. These two gentlemen were very professional, friendly, hardworking and sincere. They went above and beyond to make the move go smoothly. I never seen such hardworking individuals like these two gentlemen. They always had smile and readily available to help in any way possible without hesitation. These two take pride in what they do. I highly recommend Master Movers, but specifically Johnnie and Jake. I still can’t fathom how they had enough energy to do what they do! I’m a Realtor so when my clients need movers I will definitely recommend Master Mover, but specifically Johnnie and Jake!

I called several different movers, and this one had some of the soonest availability and best rates (be careful of hidden fees with others--Master Movers had a higher "rate" than some, but others assessed very high mileage and fuel surcharges that put their quotes $100+ more than Master Movers). To top it off, Chris (who I scheduled with on the phone) was polite and helpful, and the movers (Tommy and another man whose name I didn't catch) were professional, nice, and FAST--which I appreciated since they charge an hourly rate! Highly recommend this company. Side note - I noticed a nasty review of this company that specifically called to attention the race/ethnicity of the movers. If you treat your movers like second-class citizens because of their race, you should move your own damn furniture.

I had a 995lb gun safe I needed moved from the garage of my old house (steep driveway) to the garage of my new house. I called them on Saturday needing the safe moved by Friday the next week. They got back to me on Monday letting me know they could move the safe Tuesday. Four guys showed up on time with a truck that had a lift gate. The whole crew was professional, and fast. They took care to make sur they didn't damage the safe, without wasting any time.. They quickly formulated a plan, got the safe down my driveway and onto the truck. They charge for there time to get to my house from their location in Vancouver. Total time was 2 hours.

We have nothing but positive comments to say about our experience. Chris was very responsive in providing a quote and setting up our move. Adrian and Johnnie were there when scheduled and did an amazing and careful job loading, moving, and unloading our possessions. They were professional and hardworking, taking care of our property in a timely and thoughtful manner. I had occasion to speak with one of the owners (Karen) and was not surprised to find the interaction pleasant, responsive, and professional. We would not hesitate to use this crew again, and highly recommend them to anyone else for their moving needs.

There is nothing masterful about this company. Their avoidance tactics run deep and unflappably. Through poor packing and incompetence they destroyed irreplaceable art and framed family photos. Broken furniture was poorly repaired on the spot with sheet rock screws that later failed. Today I finally unpacked a photograph of my Great-grandmother that made its way from Norway in the 1890’s to Eugene OR then on to Portland, OR. It’s last move by this company found it framed in with other art and severely damaged. Please see photos below. More to come from computer. Buyer beware!!

First Karen at the office was so sweet and kind, i had to reschedule twice and they were so understanding just made me feel so blessed. My time was set no later than 9:30am the two men arrived at 9:25 just great. Sonny (old man) he said i could call him that (smile) he and Keith Beckner were the BEST!! they took there time with my stuff always watching out to not ding or hit anything very kind and fun to be around. From start to finish, our experience was fantastic. Karen, who I initially set up with was super nice and helpful. Appt setting process was easy. The movers, Johnnie and Chris, were awesome. My partner and I had the most wonderful experience with Master Movers. From Portland to Bend, Sonny and Mike took great care of our belongings. They packed their truck so efficiently and effectively that nothing had shifted during the 3.5 hour trip over the mountain, and nothing was damaged or broken in the process. These hard working guys are amazing! They moved all of our large, heavy furniture like it was nothing (even with clothing kept in drawers!). Jake and Johnnie were at our house in Portland right on time. Handled everything carefully and swiftly. Delivered our furniture to Netarts in a timely manner and put everything in the house right where I instructed them. They were polite and courteous the whole time, and thanked me for the business. We used this company to move to our new home, 10 miles from the old one. Every person in the company was a delight to work with! Both Johnnie and Raphael were great with the actual move day, which was on New Year's Eve. The professionalism, care, and courtesy those guys possessed was fantastic! Both those guys deserve tons of credit, as their skills were completely recognized here. Not that I want to ever move again, but if that were to happen, I'd 100% use these folks again. I have used these guys four times now and recommend them to all of my friends. They are hard working, efficient, and considerate of details. Furniture is wrapped in Saran Wrap- like plastic, blankets and other do-das so all is protected from finger prints and dings. They will patiently make sure belongings go not only in the correct room but will position furniture just the way you like it. They do all of this with a positive attitude! I don’t know how they do it- I’m blown away every time!

We (my work) had Master Movers move a 700lb commercial oven from the driveway into our kitchen. They came out a week earlier to move it, but none of the doors were wide enough to fit the oven. Sonny pointed out that we needed to get a contractor to remove the door jams. We had them removed, and Master Movers came out and got that big monster into the kitchen with a quickness. Super pleased with the job they did and the friendly service. Thank you.

I hired Master Movers to take delivery of several large pieces of machinery and move them into my workshop. They weren't cheap, but in the end they were worth every penny. Communication was great, and the crew was top notch. All of my machines made it into the shop without a single scratch, and they took great care in positioning the machines precisely where I wanted them. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend Master Movers.

Scheduled an appointment for a move, after multiple confirmation calls/emails/documents over the course of a week. Notified by phone an hour before my movers were suppose to show up, the employee called out from work. The company canceled my move with an hour notice, and wanted to schedule a week later! I’m still in disbelief. Schedule with Moda Moving for a reliable company. I wanted sooner and I should have trusted my instinct.

From start to finish Johnnie & Jake made my move as pleasurable of an experience possible. I was under a lot of stress and they seemed to have been doing it for a long time because they didn't hesitate to take charge and got all my items out from the third floor before I knew it.. all my furniture was flawless at my new home.. these guys are strong, polite, fast, and great full for the business. I’ve hired Master Movers a few times for various projects at my house. This time they were relocating an office so that we could replace the flooring. Johnnie and Jake showed up on time, hustled to move desks and (HEAVY) filing cabinets, and got us moved in under two hours. They were professional, friendly, and fast. I used master movers today to move my furniture. They were very careful and even made sure to tape padded blankets to the wood banister before moving furniture up stairs. There was no damage to either the house or furniture. The two movers even tried to make friends with my shy and anxious dog. Definitely would recommend using their services.
