Please use any other moving company. I've moved many times with movers and regret using this company so so much... this was the worst experience I've ever had. after being over an hour late they took what should have been a 2hr job and went as painfully slow as they could to make it almost a 5hr job...I moved from a STUDIO apartment to another apartment literally down the street(7 blocks) from the old one. They had easy access parking right in front to both buildings. I tried to make everything as easy as possible. I only had a around 30 boxes and some shelves/desk/dresser. I even tried to get them an additional dolly from my apartment(s) because they only had one small one between them which they declined. I asked them to wrap some of my glass items in plastic which they did not-even though they are trying to charge me for it and say that they did, and watched one of them proceed to drop my glass table in front of me TWICE, thankfully it didn't break. Sadly, my dresser was not so lucky and no longer has a back to it so it's almost unusable at this point. My vanity desk is also chipped. Thankfully after seeing how my things were being handled I opted to not let them move my TV or my vintage ornate mirror otherwise I'm sure those things would have been damaged as well. While they were very nice gentlemen they were purposefully slow moving my stuff(they'd bring out/in maybe one or two small boxes at a time. I'm 5'1 and am positive I could have carried more as I did so when I was packing) and we're extremely careless with my things. The also threw in an extra mover without clearing it with me (I reserved 2 movers) who pretty much didn't do anything but stand in the truck that they are now charging me for... I was quoted $338-which I prepaid and was about what I have paid other movers any other time I've used them(I moved two years ago with even more belongings a much further distance and two movers were able to get the job done in less than 2hrs) and am being charged a few dollars short of $1,000....which I cannot afford. They also disappeared for close to an hour with no communication. I am now having to go through a claims process that I'm sure they will find a way to get out of as the person I spoke with made it seem like this was all my fault and that he would need to "talk to the movers" so I doubt I'll be getting anywhere with this claim and will be having to take further action. Please please DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. It would have been much easier to just do it yourself or look for one of the much better companies around town like the ones I've used in the past.

PLEASE READ THIS AND THE OTHER NEGATIVE REVIEWS BEFORE DECIDING TO WORK WITH MOVING FELLOWS. I just completed a move with Moving Fellows and it was an absolute nightmare for many reasons. Firstly, the quoted $650 for the move and when it was over they charged over $1300 WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING TO ME. The move was a disaster because the movers were absolutely unqualified/not fit for the move. They were slow, unprofessional, and complained the entire time. One of the movers was completely wreckless and badly injured himself on our property. We tried to press him to seek medical attention but he declined as he other employees stated he likely didn't have insurance coverage. These "movers" were all probably between the ages of 20-25. MY WIFE AND I ENDED UP DOING 15%-20% OF THE MOVE OURSELVES BECAUSE IT WAS CLEAR THEY WERE UNABLE TO DO THE MOVE TIMELY THEMSELVES. They brought out a so called "manager" to finish the move when it was obviously taking too long and that man was absolutely rude and refused to talk to us or apologize for the poor service. Just ridiculous. Further, they destroyed a TV stand worth $700 while ignoring safety protocols and refused to replace it. They hauled it off, promising to submit a clam on our behalf which was a lie because we never heard from them again. I had to call repeatedly to have a claim filed. Then, they refused to respond to ANY of the issues they were clearly negligent for. Their response was a measly $120 refund with a lame letter stating they would not be responding to any further inquiries. Moving Fellows is a complete scam. They're liars, fraudsters, will overcharge you without saying anything to you. I'll be reporting my experience to the Better Business Bureau as well and directing anyone I know away from using them. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH MOVING FELLOWS. I only wish I'd read the other negative reviews before working with them. They do not deserve your business and will only make things more difficult and more expensive for you.

I wish it could be Zero Stars. This company seems, to me at least, to operate their jobs, at every level, to work inefficiently and sloppily in order to cost you more money. I have a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath house with a pretty full basement. I told them this. They under bid my job, then when the crew showed up (late) spent half an hour counting boxes to update the estimate. Instead of working, they were counting and telling me I lied to the estimator. They ignored several large pieces until the truck was too full to hold them ( due to sloppy truck loading, see the photos ) and then offered a second trip to get the items left behind. I refused. I had to rent a truck and finish my move because their 3 movers couldn’t finish my job in 5 hours. They don’t provide power tools to take part bedrames and other furniture, and if it seems complicated, they stop trying. They took half a bed frame apart then handed me the screws and said they won’t finish and it won’t move it. They broke a door on my basement cabinet then took pictures of it to say it was already broken. They used my plastic wrap since they said the company provided wrap is terrible, then charged me for a whole roll of wrap. They have you sign and initial a paper saying they are going to use wrap, then they fill in how much they used after the job with your initials already there. About a half hour into the move they sent a link to fill in this review, don’t fall for that. They’re counting on a good review before you see all the sloppy work and hidden charges. I left a similar review on Yelp. Since then, they sent me a “refund “ contract to reimburse me for “20 minutes of getting gas” and “‘plastic wrap” both of which should never have been charged to begin with. In order to get the refund, I have to agree to take down any negative reviews. I told them to keep their $125. Do yourself a favor and hire another company.

Horribly loaded our belongings and we are still finding items damaged. Claims have been filed but we cannot get the company to even email us back to discus the way the truck was loaded. Nothing was wrapped even though we had provided packing material. Practically everything not in a box has some form of damage. The movers were tired to begin with, after being 4.5 hours late. They had to call a third mover and did not disclose the extra cost to me, since my wife was the contact person I was unaware of an additional charge for this. We voiced concerns several times to the guy on the phone who was condescending and patronized my wife. It was and continues to be an utter disaster. Disputed charges on my card and their legal team was prompt to reply that we were being fraudulent. We’ve asked for someone to contact us and nobody has. We are over 1,000$ in damages now, and awaiting ANY response from the owner or an actual human within the company. The single handed most terrible experience of our lives. We are saddened about all of our items being broken or scuffed/marred due to poor loading. Our bed is messed up, our bookshelf is broken, our dresser is smashed, the list goes on. We want someone to email us back... it’s been 3 days now and no word from them, aside from their legal team. Shocked and appalled. Do not use this company!! I wish I could add photos, it’s clear to anybody who sees them how terrible the work performed was. If they read this review, they’ll know who we are. Please email us so we can resolve this!

WILL QUOTE YOU AT A LOWER RATE THEN BILL YOU ALMOST DOUBLE WHAT YOU AGREED TO The movers were mostly fine. The process of the move went pretty smoothly. I did help to move things along, but that’s mostly on my own free will. However, afterwards is where it gets messy. I was quoted at about 500$ for 2 movers. We had a sofa, a bed, some kitchen stuff and boxes of clothes to move. The movers clocked me at 3.1 hours and said I would get charged for 3 hours which would have actually been UNDER the quote. Got charged for 4. But here’s the kicker. 3 movers showed up. 2 that moved boxes, one in the truck. I didn’t say anything because I thought maybe somehow that was part of the quote. So then I get billed for a 3 mover rate for more time then it took and a bunch if supplies that I purposely declined because I supplied my own. A quote of 500$ came to a bill close to 900$. I of course called and asked what’s up. They were way too routine about the whole thing as if this happens pretty frequently, almost like they get these calls a lot. So after an “investigation” I get told that I will be compensated 135$ for their error and that would be the end of our correspondence. Looking at their reviews it seems like this happens pretty frequently I’ll never ever ever ever use them again and will tell anyone I know to avoid them at all costs. It is 100% a scam and is absolutely illegal. I wanted to wait until I received a check in case they tried to withhold it for a bad review, but I’m also hitting up the better business bureau.

I Hired Moving Fellows in Portland to move 6 items of furniture 5 blocks. Quoted estimate of $380 (2 hours) after giving exacting details on scope. Charged $980 ( 6 hours-with no explicit authorization or invoicing) before I finally ended the fiasco with unassembled furniture, unmoved items, items in wrong rooms, etc. Four calls to “Support” (Kayl) as this fiasco unfolds. Many chances to fix/address. Worst customer experience ever. When she refuted my claim that I had been told 3 movers for the hourly price quoted, she said she had gone back and ‘listened to the call’. She agreed to email that audio file. She has not. Multiple requests to speak to owner/manager deferred and told ‘they’ are not in until Tuesday ( this was a Saturday). Subsequently learn that Kayl is the registered owner in the state of OR. I am now going to have to hire help to clean up this mess after being charged almost a thousand dollars to move 6 pieces of furniture 5 blocks. Disastrous. Stay far away.

**SCAM COMPANY** They offered me $100 to take down my negative review after overcharging me by $300 due to their negligence and unexperienced workers. they will inaccurately quote you and charge you more as you go from the beginning all the way to the end due to hidden "steps" fees. The paperwork upon arrival has hidden charges as well. two men showed up- one young and professional, one older who had no hustle and was on his phone to his girlfriend in Florida. It was clear when I left them to it that one man would be doing most of the work. 2.5 hours into the move for a studio apartment I received yet another call stating they would need to charge me more because it was taking longer. I had told the movers to stop at 1 hour and to load large items like the mattress and shelves because I had a friend helping with his car the following day. when the truck arrived, I had to stop moving and help because it was getting expensive. They had loaded a lot of the soft goods in bags I had asked them to not worry about if it hit an hour. As I suspected it was one guy doing all the work, with my help it took 20 mins to unload into my hallway- not even my apartment. very disappointed, just not a great experience, would not recommend. It seems like they know moving is stressful and people are on a timeline when moving and take advantage of that pressure.

I booked them 10 days prior to my move. At that time, I spoke with Andre, and after a detailed discussion of our needs, I reserved, paid the fee, and he sent me the confirmation. 24 hours before our move day I received an email stating, “We’re pleased to inform you…” your new estimate is much more costly and is completely different than what you agreed to! I spoke with the manager and again with Andre. They defended their position and basically stated the manager has oversight of the bookings and their estimates aren’t guaranteed. They originally quoted me $140/hour with 2 movers and the new quote was for $202/hour with 3 movers. Their truck was in the shop so I needed to have 3 movers to manage 2 smaller trucks. This was a bait-and-switch. It was unprofessional, unethical, added unnecessary stress to my move, and I’m not even sure what they’ve done is legal. Moving companies are regulated by the state and I intend to share my experience with them. To his credit, Andre attempted to smooth things over via email but at that point I didn’t trust them and it was in my best interest to work with a business that is more professional, ethical, and reliable. Naturally, I requested a refund of the fee I paid upfront but of course, they didn’t bother to respond, so I will be taking this up with my credit card company.

DO NOT HIRE MOVING FELLOWS!!! I had the unfortunate experience of hiring moving fellows and I truly wish I would have gone with any other moving company. First of all I was quoted $450 for my move which included 1 moving truck and 2 movers. I was only moving .5 mile down the street and from a small apartment. The estimate accounted for the movers and 3 hours of move time. Without any notice or explanation 3 movers showed up with the truck causing the price of my move to jump to $730. Thanks for the heads-up Moving fellows. The movers hired for the job were highschool age and extremely unprofessional and inconsiderate with my belongings and time management. One of the movers actually dropped my furniture and broke it. After being reassured that Moving Fellows would make it right and pay for the cost of the repair they wrapped up the job and asked to be tipped at the end. 2 weeks later after not getting responses from moving fellows they offered me $90 to make up for the broken furniture. For reference this piece cost me $5000.00, and was custom made for me. Wow thanks for absolutely nothing Moving Fellows!!

Portland Student Movers saved my bacon. I purchased a used piece of furniture on the far edge of SW Portland and needed it transported to NE Portland. I also needed furniture in my house rearranged (moving an upstairs bedroom downstairs). I booked 3 movers in the last week and every single one of them cancelled at the last minute. I didn't expect to find a last minute mover on a Friday morning for 2-3 hours of work, but Lace made it happen. Two people, Justin and his assistant, picked up the large piece of furniture and delivered it to my house. They moved around several other pieces of large and heavy furniture plus a few boxes. Everything was done within the 2 hours. It was a little more expensive because it was last minute (but not hugely so given many places have a 2-3 hour minimum). Justin kept me informed through the whole process letting me know how far out he was from the pickup and when I should expect them. Thank you so much! You really saved my day and weekend!

Kindly Avoid them. The guys that were here are tired by the time they came (afternoon 2:30 PM). Their Team lead and I had the push guys to get stuff done. One guy just stood around and I just paid him for no reason. They just want to throw stuff in the container instead of logically stacking. Everything was falling apart and down when I opened the door. They said it is not possible to fit a treadmill and computer chair. I reshuffled the boxes after they left and I had a lot of space left in the cubes with a lot of stability. I have proof of pictures that I took after fitting the treadmill and computer chair and 6 more boxes. It was painful to have these guys and costly. Two guys were ok. I just paid 3rd guy for not doing any work. He was the most complaining guy. Above all I reserved for 2 guys for 2 hours and 3 guys showed up (so I guess the last guy was just a trick) to grab more money. I got completely cheated.

Our experience with this company was very good! They worked hard with all details in the process and this made us feel confident with our move. This was important to us! Their website was very informative and transparent. The two-man moving team arrived on time, even a bit early. They were kind and worked hard to please us and take good care of our belongings. The quote they provided was very close to the final bill. We understood that it was up to us to be ready so that they could do their job efficiently. So we were ready! We chose to box up everything ourselves but left it to the movers to add padding and wrap to my furniture. Everything was loaded and unloaded without a scratch! When they finished, I gave each of the workers a tip. (a check each), totaling about 20% of the expected total. I felt they deserved it! Thank you Moving Fellows/ Portland Student Movers

Editing my review as part of what made them so fast appears to have been that a few items never made it into my truck, including full pieces of furniture and drawers from a dresser and desk. The company is asking for proof these items ever made it onto the truck, and states they never found them. I don’t think it was purposeful, but these were family heirlooms and I’m devastated. The lack of care in having items go missing and the lack of concern in their response has me honestly devastated. Do not trust this company with things that are important to you. I wish I’d moved on my own. Worked with these guys today and wow! They were super fast, professional, and kind to me and my things. Moving alone can be really challenging and these guys made all the difference. Moved all of my big items from my home to my storage unit in less than 2 hours. Fantastic.

****ABSOLUTE SCAM**** FAKE REVIEWS Do NOT trust this company. They will quote you at an extra low rate so that you book with them. The day of the move they'll nickle and dime you for equipment they don't even use even if you decline it. Then the movers will do anything and everything to prolong the actual move. Then you get billed about double what you were quoted at with a couple mysterious hours tacked on. After an "investigation" they will then offer a measley 100$ refund but they still got you for about 300$ and then tell you their communication is finished. Talking with other people they've scammed, they apparently threaten you if you leave a bad review. Love to see them try it. It's also quite telling that a lot of their 5 star reviews have ONLY reviewed them. Pathetic scammers. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

They OVERCHARGE, they don't have the proper equipment, their movers are inexperienced, once I had hired them, I found them IMPOSSIBLE to reach for further inquiries, they have a standard practice of squeezing extra movers in, claiming they are in training, but charging you for the extra labor, they will nickle and dime you. In our case, after being charged an obscene amount of money, we had to hire a different company to actually finish my very basic move.They have multiple claims against them through the BBB. Find a more ethical company! They are out there! We went with " We Move You". They were amazing.

Morgan and Gerardo were my movers and they were rock stars! They arrived on time, went straight to work and moved me completely from one house to the next and all within 2.5 hours. They wrapped my tv's, fireplace and anything that they felt needed the extra protection, all for within the quoted price and were very professional and friendly. I'm definitely going to hire them again when I move my storage unit. I can't say enough about how thorough and careful they were with all my belongs and how quickly and steadily they worked. I highly recommend this company and personally, these two awesome guys! They were the best!

This company was recommend from a friend and I would recommend them to my other friends after working with them. The woman on the phone who I booked with was kind and guided me through the process and all the questions with a large amount of patience (this was my first time hiring movers). The two man team who come to move us were prompt and hard working! They followed direction very well and took great care of my belongings. They were mindful of time and kept us on schedule so that the move stayed within the quoted price. I will definitely use them again when moving.

I moved from Portland to Hood River, these guys are fantastic from start to finish! They give you a callback right away, and are able to give you a quote and let you know if they can move you on the date you prefer. I appreciated their fast online system, and, the phone conversations. I'm 69 and did the packing myself, so I was amazed how fast they moved things that I thought were heavy. The movers were competent, friendly and made the move go smoothly. I thought moving was going to be a lot harder. If I ever need to move again I will certainly call them!!

Christopher and Sebastian were energized, happy and strong-they were not professional! I needed to suggest (expected) them to wrap finished wood furniture throughout the loading. Several times to adjust loose packing. They planned placement well, still, somewhat shoving to fit, not an awareness of good protection. Truthfully, I’m afraid to open the POD and unpack. They wanted to do it right, 1 seemed to have had experience but… Haven’t received the billing yet… I suggest more training for your workers, please do it. Il

Our movers did a good job. However if you employ them pay particular attention to the time they arrive and the time they complete the move. You should also know they will charge you travel time for the movers to get to your job plus the time it takes them to return to their office. Also, they’ll charge you for any plastic wrap they use to wrap your furniture. If they give you a quote it is only a base amount. My quote for $286. wound up being a bill of $419 by the time they applied all their add-ons. So buyer be ware.

I want to highlight the customer service of Moving Fellows throughout the booking process. We are moving out of our current apartment due to untreated maintenance that has left our apartment uninhabitable and Moving Fellows was able to help book a last minute move and have been so very kind. In waiting for our current apartment to to provide payment for the move as they said they would, Moving Fellows have offered advice in what to do in this situation and have worked with us while we deal with our current situation.

Two of the three moving guys we had were great. The new guy on their team however made inappropriate comments, for example, upon seeing that we had cats - said he hated them and that he was more of a dog person. He also commented as to “how expensive” or “nice” our belongings were. Make sure you check the weather before you book them as they will not. There was a winter storm and they were unable to deliver our entire house. Also, they didn’t bring a large enough truck and not all of our belongings made it in.

This was my first time using this moving company. I’ll definitely use them again in the future and I’ll refer people I know. My experience was great from start to finish. The communication was exceptional and Lace did a great job working with me and helping me plan accordingly within my budget. The gentleman sent out to help with the move were punctual about time and extremely professional. I normally don’t do reviews but my move worked out perfectly. I highly recommend using Moving Fellows Portland.

This company will actively tell you one thing then surprise you with another. Customers get charged up to three times the original agreed upon price. They have zero ability to estimate the logistics of a job which ends up costing the customer time and money. Try to complain about it or resolve the issue and they gaslight you telling you that they never said that. Even when it's on record. This is not a professional company. Save your money AND your possessions and go through another moving company.

Literally parked this truck so people who live here can't get in. Then the two guys are super rude and refused to move the truck so people could pull in. There was a line of people and they were clearly done moving stuff instead of moving the truck he looked at us then went back to grab a clipboard and went back to the persons unit. After the were done they literally sat there not moving with the truck running for about 5 minutes while people were still waiting to pull in.

Called prior to arrival, were on time, and ready. Move to longer than anticipated, but they did not rush to finish at end, handled all but 1 box with. Furniture wrapped with cared. Update: so...found damage to table and discovered something was not delivered. I reached out to company but after 2 emails and a text there is no resolution after 2 weeks Update so.. 4 weeks after move, found more damage (velvet bed- not claiming) still no response. Seriously?

Booking was efficient, the moving team arrived promptly, and they did a perfect job carrying items with care. I was impressed by their friendliness, warmth, professionalism, and ability to get a big job done in so little time! Major appreciation to Orrin for communicating the day-of process clearly, and both Thinno and Jonathan for their attention to detail. I would recommend all three individuals with no reservations.

I was absolutely thrilled with my experience with Portland Student Movers, and will definitely use them again! The fee was very reasonable, the booking process was easy, every person I spoke with was informed and kind, they did an excellent job staying in contact prior to the move, and the movers were hard working and took care of our belongings as if they owned them. Truly an EXCEPTIONAL value!!

Efficient, kind movers who helped make our move SO MUCH easier! And a great value for the price, as it's a bit cheaper than other moving quotes I got for a local move in the Portland area. They handled everything with care and were adaptable when we had more items than we originally thought. They were communicative about their arrival time and respectful and great to work with. Both of my movers were very professional and extremely quick. My items arrived in the same condition they were loaded into the truck and both of the movers were very accommodating, even helping me take care of my brand new TV that needed extra care. My entire 1 bed room apartment was loaded, moved, and unloaded in about 2 hours. I couldn’t believe how fast! Will definitely use them again.

Polite and professional! They arrived on time and ready to go. Although I only needed them for unloading, they did a great job and were careful with my items. They also offered to place things where I wanted. They had 2 dolley's good for moving a large amount of boxes and limit back and forth. The price also seemed reasonable when compared to other companies. I would use again.

We hired Moving Fellows at the recommendation of a friend and couldn’t have been more pleased. Scheduling was easy and they worked with us to get us appropriately set up for the amount of items we needed to move. Robert, T, and Eli were a professional crew and efficient and I appreciated that they were careful with our things. Overall great service.

The two guys that help me move were efficient, fast and got the job done in under two hours! They didn't waste any time and when they left my old apartment, they arrived at my new apartment about 3 minutes behind me. I have had bad luck with movers in the past, but this move was as smooth and stressless as could be. Happy to be in my new apartment.

Movers were attentive to needs and careful in handling my furniture and possessions. They worked hard and fast and communicated well. They placed items were they needed to be and even put boxes of kitchen items on the counter for easier access in unpacking. Stairs were involved and many large furniture items went upstairs without complaints.

Literally a dream during a really stressful time! They were not only on time, they called and asked if they could come early. They handled my belongings with extreme care, and after everything was moved into my new place they stayed the make sure I didn’t need any of the larger items moved to another room. These guys are worth every penny!!

I had Moving Fellows move a couch for me while I was out of town. They were helpful, easy to reach by text and phone, and careful with my item. I wanted to make sure I could send someone trustworthy to my vacant new home, who would be mindful of new paint and so forth. They did a great job and communicated with me throughout the process.

This is the second time we have used Moving Fellows. Their customer service during the set up and coordination process is very responsive and helpful. We love Andre! They are easy to reach by phone which we really appreciated. Once the move start, we the movers were professional, responsive and communicative. We would use them again.

Highly recommend moving fellows! From the reservation process to the final move, they made it easy and affordable. Andre was helpful with the reservation process and answered all my questions. My movers, Giovany and Robert were pleasant, fast, and took care of my stuff. If I ever move again, I will absolutely use Moving Fellows!

I have used Moving fellows twice in the past 6 months and they have been amazing both times. Sebastian was at the first and second move. I can't believe how helpful , compassionate and truly human he is. Moving is never easy but the team here made it as non-traumatic as they could. Couldn't have asked for a better group of guys.

I will never use this service again. 600$ to move a urban studio apartment. They will tack on extra driving time and tell you that if you want it fixed you'll have to first fully pay bill then submit a claim, and that claims take 7 days to process. Go else where... I could not imagine how much it would cost to move a 2 bedroom.

They caused damage to my new and old apartment and still had the audacity to ask for a tip. Response to Owner: False. They only asked me to initial the start time before they moved my stuff into the truck. They didn't have me sign anything until the move was all done. I allowed the two men to use materials needed for moving.

First time hiring movers. They all had a great attitude when dealing with my heavy furniture (it’s pretty tough to move). The only down side is it took a lot more time than planned but again I had tough furniture and they did assemble one piece for me. All in all, they did a good job. Would use them again.

Jay and Angelo were amazing! They had a great attitude and made my move so much easier. They were extremely hard working and super flexible and I really appreciate their hard work. Jay, Orrin and Randall were all over every detail of this move from start to finish. They were incredibly careful with some nice pieces of furniture and I’m happy to report everything made it in the same condition as when they started. This was my first time using movers and I have to say it was so worth it! Everything was done quickly and was handled with care by Moving Fellows. The movers were so nice and easily navigated everything that needed to be done. Will be reaching out to them again if I ever need movers in the future.

Very efficient guys! Gave me a call to let me know what time they were arriving. What took 10 mins to get a couch through my door 4 years ago when the furniture company delivered, took these guys a little under a minute. Apartment to apartment move took under 2 hours! Will definitely use again!

Booking with this moving company was easy from the start. Good website, excellent response time, easy forms and explanations. Lace is excellent in customer service and answering questions. T, Devin & Ryan were very professional and nice young men helping with all the moving and transportation.
