Context: Location shuts at 10pm and arriving at 9.50pm is not the best idea. But all I wanted was a hot chocolate in the hug mug with crunchy chocolate balls. I specifically asked for EXTRA hot, hot chocolate. The customer service individual gave me a tepid one. I did not want to be a Karen but I felt that I drove 15 mins for this but it wasn't max brenner quality so I asked to her give me an extra hot one. What did she do? Instead of remaking it,She microwaved it, resulting in the chocolate balls to turn into paste, mug super hot and hot chocolate tasting average(plus she looked at me as though I gave her a HUGE task with 30s to go) Very disappointed with this as they ruined my drink. I understand closing shifts is hard(worked in hospi myself) but deny the service if you can't give decent quality products nevermind the harsh tone and looks. The staff(especially the lady closing on Sun 2 weeks back) is not very welcoming at this store. Try some other branch if you're *slightly* picky.

Really delicious coffee. Soy latte and flat white. Great selection of sweet treats and nice looking place to sit and enjoy what they have to offer. Would definitely go back. 7.4 had 2 coffees (flat white and soy latte) after 1st movie and another 2 after 2nd movie! Coffee is very very good. Have tried many Coffee places at Southland and Max Brenner's never disappoints. Also have a loyalty card so get free Coffee after buying 10. And Southland installed great coffee cup recycling spot opposite too. 6.6 a must visit straight after movies! 15.12 ordered takeaway decaf soy latte but had to make call so sat down and just as I was about to drink the staff member came rushing over and said that's not decaf! So she made me another. Phew close call But seriously you ask for decaf, they enter it on system and you can see on screen order says decaf then you confirm decaf and they say yes and guess what you don't get decaf!

For spending over $50 in store and to have the ‘girls’ that were working there be the rudest people I’ve ever met. While my food was ready and waiting to be taken out the staff were too busy talking while my food was being hovered over by all the customers. When I said something she slammed the food down on the table with so much attitude. The girls at max Brenner Southland then also walked back to their side of the counter and looked straight at my table laughed at me and my friends for saying something about our food that was PAID for. My friend then ordered extra, with all the smart was attitude my friend was unable to eat her food as she was scared that they might have spat in it or put something in it on purpose. Absolutely disgusting service!

i am DISGUSTED, this place was appalling.OMG i waited 30 minutes for my food when there were no customers. Kiana is a weak team member with poor customer service. The cutlery and tables were sticky and my mouth was numb from eating the chocolate it tasted like it had been sitting there for weeks!. They couldn’t even make us brownies like seriously and don’t even get me started on the cakes they looked so old and i swear i saw a bug somewhere. Kiana was as quite as a mouse and we had to ask her to speak up, we felt like zombies. We had to ask for table water and the cups had STAINS ON THEM FROM PREVIOUS CUSTOMERS. This place is also extremely overpriced i do not recommend. If i could give this place 0 stars i would! SO UNHYGIENIC WOW

Terrible service. Understand that they were busy but come on. Our pancakes and one tea came out after 20mins but the hot chocolate we waited for 50 mins. When we informed the staff at the 40 min mark they said it was coming seemed annoyed, we went up to ask again and was ignored by worker making drinks. At 50 min mark went to ask for our money back for the drink and the hot chocolate turned up on the counter and was asked if we wanted a takeaway cup. A big group came in after us and had their food and drinks before we got our hot chocolate. Another customer was waiting to have their order taken at the counter for 10 min before they gave up and left. Sad because went their frequently, won't be going again.

Used to go to Max Brenner often when i was un Uni in city, and thought its waffle was the best I town. Recently tried again in southland as I was exited to see there is one. Firstly shocked by price, but still had hope that it could be worth the $$. Unfortunately was totally disappointed. The waffle tasted just like supermarket range. Densed with sugar clumps, no sign of freshness or caramelised crisp of outlays. I suspect they just used stored bought waffles as my order were ready in no time. Was going to give 1 star, but their hot chocolate was still quite nice. Some of the cakes looked good.

I love the food and the hot chocolate, but my god the service is painfully slow. There's no reason for it to be slow. Its like the staff are in slow motion. I waited 45 minutes for a hot chocolate and a coffee for take away. There was 4 tables of people in store and a lady from one of the tables had to walk up and collect her and her partners food off the counter after it sat on the counter ready for at least 15 minutes. You wait for ages just for your order to be taken, then an even bigger wait just to get your order. Its terrible service.

A chocolate café franchise spanning multiple locations; with a wide range of desserts such as waffles, crepes, sundaes, chocolate fondues and sweet pizzas as well as baked cakes and goods from the display cabinet. Dined here late at night and ordered the tutti frutti waffles with no banana. Waffles were generic and probably not house made, but it was still delicious with their signature melted milk chocolate which paired well with the vanilla ice cream. Strawberries were sweet and not sour which was a plus. Would come here just for the melted chocolate.

Most times we’ve come here the staff don’t acknowledge you’re there even after waiting 10+ minutes in line to order. Understand it can get busy, but it needs more staff or more people that can handle the pressure. We waiting at the front of the register for 10+ minutes watching the kids slowly deal with an influx of 10+ orders. There was no “sorry for keeping you” or “sorry just a moment” simply just ignored. This happens every time.

After a half-price midday movie across the 'Street' at Village cinemas, made a bee-line to Max Brenner's for a choc fix. Shared a choc hazelnut slice with my wife and we were suitably pleased. Staff were efficient Some interesting designs on the walls and a curious churning machine at the door perhaps suited to Willy Wonka's place.

Dessert was ok. Would’ve rated higher if the staff were more attentive to the needs of their customers. First time we came, the waffle was rock hard it was difficult to chew. Second time, we ordered a strawberry and cream crepe for takeaway and they sent it without a single spoon or fork to eat it with. How do they think we were going to enjoy the crepe softened with so much cream inside with our hands. Overall, more training for the staff would be helpful.

I was here with my son as a very special treat. The service was fabulous as was his dessert choice - the Rocky Road sundae. They went above and beyond after a little accident when he dropped some of his dessert. He was so worried but the staff made him feel so much better. Thank you! We will be back - it will be our number 1 place for special treats! (It's also great as it's open a bit later so great if you are out just for a dessert treat!)

Paid $7.45 for a large takeaway hot chocolate only to get to my car and take a sip of it and it taste like warm milk. Tipped it into a glass when I got home and it was virtually white .. for $7.45 some more chocolate could be added, especially being from a chocolate bar. Also foul language from co-workers having there own conversation at the coffee machine.

This was the third time we were visiting our local Max Brenner and as of the last two times the shop is suffering from lack of attention by staff. Dirty tables, long wait times, bad quality and cold coffee were just couple of issues to mention. It is unfortunate as we dont have a decent cafe in Southland which can service later in afternoon and Max can shine in this space but have to stop visiting.

Omg the service was amazing, they really know how to treat a women. One waiter kept giving me raw sugar, sooo trying to flirt and it was much appropriated. I got the hint with the sugar part of the sugar, like at that point just ask me out I’m so easy (and desperate). But anyways the tea was so delicious and the sizing was good for the price. I would recommend this place to a friend, truely 10/10.

Good service i came in today at around 6:30 and for a busy Saturday night the coffee service was pretty good. I didn’t find myself waiting too long before i was served. i wasn’t expecting too much out of my coffee from a major chain but it exceeded my expectations! kudos to the barista on today they really put their best effort into service tonight! :)

Every ubereats order comes missing items. When call the store to try to fix they try to blame us and then the drivers for tampering with a sealed bag... When we insist that it was never packed the manager simply said to lodge a complaint with the app. No apology and was overall rude over the phone. This store needs to take a good look at how the staff are trained in customer service.

When you prepare for Uber eats make sure you get the order right . A choc fudge brownie is not the same as a choc nut fudge .
