I feel terrible leaving a one star review on a small family business and a business that I have been a strong advocate for and loved for years and have raved about it to hundreds of people in regards to the mind blowing pasta . Let me set this straight - the pasta , the food , the taste is second to none you won’t find a better pasta anywhere in Melbourne and I say that with strong confidence and will continue to say that because it is the truth . I have recommended this business to more people then I can count. My review today brings me to the experience I had encountered today 12/12 which has nothing to do with the food but the hospitality and values of the owner and the uncomfortably I encountered today and the second hand embarrassed I experienced on behalf of the waitress and the business... I decided to come in and have a nice lunch with a friend we both ordered two pastas that came out fantastic and the waitress’s were nothing short of lovely we ordered Parmesan cheese on the side as one does when they order pasta .. however I saw the owner literally send over a waitress to come and move the cheese somewhere else ( I’m not sure why maybe because we were consuming more cheese then he was comfortable with ? ) the waitress was flustered and embarrassed . I genuinely felt sorry for her because she was embarrassed and she came and said “I need to take the cheese for the other table “ without asking if we would like more cheese before it goes ( despite the other table not requesting cheese ) no fault of hers she was uncomfortable as the owner gave the orders I was okay with that and felt sorry for the her . We finished eating .. I then requested to take the food take away and if we can have some cheese in a container to take away to then the boss sending over a young waitress who was very uncomfortable to ask us that the take away cheese will be $5 . Which he provided small container with 1:4 filled up I was genuinely embarrassed on behalf of the waitress because she was very embarrassed that the boss was that stingy and ridiculous orders. I don’t care about money , I always tip when I order food from here I care about supporting small business I am frustrated at how bloody uncomfortable I felt , I was made to feel like I was exploiting this business . I am a paying customer everything I asked for was not unreasonable I literally couldn’t enjoy my lunch because of how uncomfortable the owner / chef made me feel by how price conscious ( stingy) he is I feel bad for his employees who he puts in UNCOMFORTABLE situations and also the customer who experience what I experience . I would be more emphatic if he was charging ridiculously low prices but we paid 75 for two people with drinks etc which and should be enough profit margin to not literally get triggered over some cheese. Please change your business practise , stop making everyone including your employees uncomfortable. You have beautiful food but your mindset is backwards. Take this as constructive feedback - because your food is great and it’s a real bummer that the whole show isn’t pleasant because of one person.

Mayflour is a beautiful cafê with a family feel. Its staff are extremely friendly and approachable, constantly checking in. Food and coffee were brought out promptly. There are several options of tempting food on display in the cabinets in the front of the café, including myriad cupcakes (as our old friend and staff member Kristen generously treated us to a box of), hot pastries and more flavours of gelato than you can imagine! There was a corridor to the back which was lined with different green plants and paintings, most with meanings behind them, giving the café a unique feel. The menu is extensive and it was the best the best granola I’ve ever had!!! Great coffee too!

Wheelchair accessibility
No one had a wheelchair at the time I was in the café but it was spacious and I believe there would have been room for one. Additionally, from staff and customers’ I saw nothing but kindness so I would be under the impression if they were to also require assistance, they would receive it.

Congratulations on your move and reopening! I offer the following as constructive criticism because i really want to love this place as its my local and they've only just opened their new cafe with expanded food offerings, but I think they've got some improving to do. I've visited a couple of times now and I feel it's only doing well because it's the only cafe out here. The staff are lovely and the decor is nice but they need more soft furnishings to absorb sound as it gets quite loud in there. The cafe is located within the local shopping strip next to beautiful trees and park land. Beautiful to grab your morning coffee and go for a walk. Their coffee is good, cupcakes are AMAZING and food is ok but overpriced for what you get. I ordered extra chorizo with my avo smash and only got 3 slices - if I'm paying $5 extra I want the whole sausage. The avo smash tasted good though. I've also tried their fried chicken burger which was dry (needed more sauce with the slaw) and the chicken patty was very thin. There are so many great cafes in Melbourne and Mayflour Cafe has the beginnings to be a great institution in Westmeadows but a few things need to be refined (such as some of the food items and food presentation) for them to justify how much they are charging.

Pros: This place has really tasty sandwiches and panini, as well as some of the best cupcakes ever. The staff are super friendly and feel very welcoming. The food is also made fresh which is a huge plus. Cons: Some things are quite a bit pricey for what they are. For instance a chicken schnitzel panini and coke was $22 (330ml coke was $6 ) However, I suppose everywhere is nowadays

As always, great food, great service. My partner had the chicken and vegetable risotto and I had the papardell, both delicious, very nicely presented. Excellent coffee. 100% satisfied with everything. Highly recommended for both food, desserts, coffee and perfect, prompt service. Plenty of parking, wheelchair access. Child friendly.

I love this little place but they have gotten a bit pricey for lunch, perhaps look at making some smaller options, like the chicken and mushroom filo, make it smaller and say $8-9...makes it a bit more appealing. Coffee and cakes are delicious though.

Nice little boutique cupcake store and cafe, nice selection of cupcakes priced pretty well. Coffee was quite nice also. Would visit again. 07/02/2020 Did visit again in their new store. The menu is a full cafe brekky and lunch, lovely food and great service. We sat outside because inside was really busy and really noisy. Otherwise it was a nice brunch for us.

Great cupcake, not too sweet, just the right amount of sweetness. Oh, did I mention coffee. Just right for their cupcake. The shop doesn't look much from the outside, it's easy to miss, but look again, look inside, it's a lovely boutique shop. Would suggest to ease in the z shop or bring home to eat. You do need a plate and a fork for this to enjoy.

Visited the new site recently. The food is very good, the staff are lovely and the place looks very nice. However, as with most contemporary fitouts, the noise is almost unbearable. The harsh surfaces means sound bounces and echos all over the place and detracts from the overall experience. Some soundproofing is definitely needed.

Good coffee and friendly staff. Plenty of parking and proves to be well popular. The cake range is huge, something for every 'tooth - and clearly fresh. Perfect for a takeaway. Inside, despite being well decorated, feels a little too open - maybe its just COVID compliance and the cozyness will come back in time.

Great asset to Westmeadows. Everything I have tried here has been delicious. The staff are also very friendly and I keep coming back here time and time again. So lucky to have somewhere so good in this little suburb. It is my place of choice to take friends and family whenever they come to this side of town.

I went here for my mums birthday. Coffee was good and mum had a great time.

Recently visited their newly opened, larger cafe and it does not disappoint! Still the same fantastic service and delicious food with even more options to choose from. It’s great to see a local business doing such a good job provide great food and coffee to the local community. Highly recommend!

This is very close to the perfect cafe. The food is delicious, the coffee is as fantastic as you should expect in Victoria and the cupcakes are literal perfection. So many flavours and variety to choose from, but every single cupcake is so good. Plus the staff are all so friendly and so lovely.

I am pleasantly surprised how this place has transformed under new management. Great local atmosphere, great staff and great coffee and food. I'll be back

Bircher was just a bow of oats I could have made myself and coffee was burnt :( didn’t have enough servers had to wait in line for ages to pay after a disappointing breakfast plus not a lot of soft furnishings in the space really bounces around the noise of blenders and kids screaming.

I Work across the road at Tattoo Parlour, super super chirpy and lovely staff it always is a pleasure to waltz in for a quick lunch. Chicken schnitzel focaccia is delicious and get it almost every time. The place is always booming too so that’s a good way to gauge how great they are :)

My girls love going here, I must say I don't mind it either, their cupcakes are insanely good. The staff are nice people and helpful, I normally get myself a cupcake and coffee, they do hot chocolate for the girls. And the girls love picking their own cupcakes from the display.

I was so excited to try their cupcakes, I heard so much about them. I was very disappointed, they are so sweet, I brought different flavours and they all taste the same. I brought mocha, strawberry cream, red velvet, chocolate, chocmint, blue heaven and Oreo. Not happy at all

Now open Sunday's for all day breakfast. After moving across the road into the old Westmeadows brakey, the team has opened up a great new place. Friendly staff and great yummy food. Do yourself a favour and check them out.

Seriously some of the best coffee and sweets you'll find and the best pasta dishes you can find anywhere. The venue is beautifully matched to the superb service from the owners and staff alike.

Highly recommend. Of course their cupcakes are delicious, but I can also highly recommend the gnocchi, pasta dishes and burgers. The chips are awesome as well. One very happy customer.

I just love the place! It's a pretty place! The first cafe I went to since I came here in Australia Really good food, great staffs with excellent service.

The lemon meringue cupcake I had here was so good I shed a couple of tears of happiness. Coffee was great, the staff were lovely, and the shop had a nice ambience.
