Yeah, so my property backs up to the shopping center and every single day, we have to deal with the homeless people loitering, camping, littering, doing drugs, and everything else under the sun. Supposedly, the property management company was supposed to have hired security specifically to deal with that issue on a daily basis but it has severely been lacking for about the past month or longer. It's getting to the point where it's affecting businesses there too. The neighborhood I live in also has children that we are trying to keep safe as well as safeguard our property. I actually give this place less than a one star for less than satisfactory safety concerns for tenants, consumers, and the immediate neighborhood.
We became broke down , & we needed a spot to set ,& try to panhandel some quick cash for a mechanic and parts, well that didn't as planned. So we were and STILL AM BROKE DOWN , SO NOW WHAT. ?? WE 've got two dogs and it looks like were homeless, Well we are .amongst millions , we colkect ssi no tramp stamps and alot of homeless do stop by for a cig. Or chit cgat a bit. Pet our dogs. And sometimes they try to help ,& Alot of respect goes out to each one. This should be the most dangerous job on earth,( BEING HOMELESS), SO TO LET YOU KNOW THIS, WE DONT DO DRUGS OR BOIZE, WE LOVE OUR BREW,& MY BABY HAS COPD& PUSHING 61 ,& ON 06/07 COME BY AND SAY HAPPY BDAY , SHEs gonna be , VERY SHOCKED !!!
Better now that the bottle drop has moved. The parking is safer, but there's not much there. I hope having the parking lot have less drug deals going down will allow the business to get more customers. I've gone to Gresham Harbor Freight, way out of my way, as I was afraid to park at this one. Today the lot had only a fee homeless and they were on the outskirts not bothering anyone. Harbor freight was clean. Had security guard and had 3 different people offer assistance. It was a very pleasant experience. I'm glad I checked out the area and decided to give it a try again.
I usually shop at autozone. Harbor freight just opened up a store there. Which is great because I like shopping there as well. However the parking lot is littered with garbage. I would like to see the parking lot maintained On a regular basis. Otherwise customers are not going to want to shop here. There is also a bottle drop center in the back corner. It tends to have a lot of shady people wandering around. Make sure to lock & alarm your vehicle. I hope the owners or management company will do more to maintain a clean parking lot.
I thought it was just a bottle return. Exactly, it's going to be sticky and gooey just like the machines that once were outside the stores. I loaded up the 1st time got in line it didn't take as long as the line looked. Cashed out, loaded up back inline cashed out it was as easy as that. The outdoors man were at the store machines too. Hey in both areas they were always helpful. One thing this return station allows you to return more at one time than the ones in fairview area.
In the past the company has not done a very good job with ice and snow control. 2 years ago I slipped on melting ice. I broke my hip and lost three or four months out of my life. I drove past today and I see that their answer is just to put a sign up that said it might be slippery when it snows. It irritates me that $0. 05 worth of sand or ice melter could have give me those 3 months
A nice convenient little shopping area that don't have very much exterior security so it's kind of hard to get rid of all of the bums that are trying to get your money out of your pocket before you even make it into the store, and even after you get out of the store they still ask you again. if this problem could be taken care of this would be an excellent little Mall in area
A lot of business at the bottledrop but fairly clean despite all the homeless. Good to see the camp that was there has been moved. That batch were simply Pigs. I'm not anti homeless as I used to be one. But there's absolutely no reason not to clean up after themselves. Shameful. Glad Oregon Helping Hands is doing the cleaning now. They'll do a great job.
As usual, I went to Walgreens at Menlo Park Plaza. There are clearly marked areas for parking and I was able, easily, to find parking nearby Walgreens. Walgreens was able to take care of my prescription very timely, and had in stock other items I looked for. THANKS Walgreens for serving your customers and your community so well!
It is really sad to see what has become of this area. We just went to pick up an RX from Walgreens and were approached by 2 separate aggressive panhandlers just driving slowly through the parking lot. I used to work at this complex 20 years ago. Now it doesn't feel safe or comfortable to drive through the parking lot.
Pretty much what you'd expect. The Walgreens and Bottledrop center dominate the Plaza with a few smaller businesses. The homeless clean up after themselves. If their very presence bothers you, move to Beverly Hills. If you complain about the situation, offer a solution. Otherwise you're just spewing verbal pollution.
It is pretty inconvenient now due to crazy long lines outside the building any day you go. Also a lot of homeless people hang out there. I suggest getting the green bottle redemption bags and just dropping them off and they count them and put it on your bottle redemption card. (Which is like a debit card.)
Seems like a high crime area pretty run down definitely not the Menlo park I grew up with homeless dude asked me to watch his stuff while he goes into a business to use their bathroom I was just wondering who's going to steal a shopping cart filled with who knows what needless to say I didnt stick around.
Walgreens. The bottle drop should be open 24-7 or at least 24-6. They need more of them as they are used by the Bums a lot. Very dirty so watch out for germs. Use mask and stay away from people. TO AVOID THE VIRUS, STAY AWAY FROM ANIMALS, DOGS, CATS, BATS AND ALL MAMMALS INCLUDING HUMANS!!
This is the local bottle drop. Lines of people with huge volumes of cans and bottles from opening to closure. Machines that are meant to help with tags, money, etc. often do not work. Take your green bags, with tags, and can open the holding room door with your card. No reason to wait!
There is a McDonald's and Walgreen's and others. Not real developed. There is a Oregon bottle return I used. Across the way is Safeway and a Human Services Office. Some smaller shops. Not advanced, though can be handy. I do not use it much. Also small restaurants, food and alcohol.
I grew up in the parkose area and this area has never been the cleanest but holy hell this area like much of portland has become a dump homeless everywhere trash everywhere gotta keep an eye on who's behind you very depressing area I hope one day that things will turn around
This is a great place to go if your hungry or need to exchange some needles the CDC has an office there and they are one of the only location's left that's Still able to give you a clean needle for every dirty one you bring in it's very convenient right by the max line
There is not much to it unless your looking for a is bank with an ATM outside in a sketchie part of the area 2 dive bars which one closes early a bottle return place and it not very clean lots of trash on the ground and lots of homeless hang around!
Mainly go here for bottle drop, had station at corner, and the county clinic. Drop is ok though I wish they'd update the machines and stop shorting people on hand counts, and I really wish they would at least put some tape over that broken
It's a pretty nice, somewhat compact strip mall area. It contains pretty much everything you might be looking for. I do miss Roses restaurant though. Anykind of restaurant or food establishment in the mall area would be a nice addition.
I go here for the restaurant that's opened at the corner. I enjoyed their foods. There are other stores too but I have visit all of them. I'll let you decide when you swing by to visit the location. Thank you for reading …
I was at Walgreens to pick toothbrushes. The store was very clean and organized. The security guard and the cashier were both very pleasant. I noticed they were low on toothbrushes but was still able to find something I like.
It's got a few stores I like and I shop at Fred Meyer often because its very close and has a great selection. My reason for only 3 stars is how busy it is and the problems that come with that, especially since its on the max.
Filthy area mostly due to the adjacent bottle drop. Not comfortable leaving the car in the parking lot unattended. Most of the undesirable person's from SE Portland frequent the area. Don't go unless you absolutely have to.
Full of homeless people returning bottles and cans. I was hassled by a over aggressive rent a cop who obviously hated his life, and accused me of trying to hit him after he walked out in front of me while trying to park
The only reason its 2 stars for me.is because of some of the businesses, but the plaza needs serious help. People openly using drugs all over this place. I definitely don't feel safe anywhere on this property.
This is a toughie. Lots of transient folk near the bottle drop, but they are us, and typically perfectly sociable. Oddly, it's the bottle drop itself that's often unfriendly and unaccommodating. ♀️ …
Bar has over priced drinks not very friendly there. Place is always trash n gross with lots of homeless people. Even witnessed with my kids some the homeless people shooting up . Doesn't give of a good vibes
It's ok. A Walgreens and not too much else. There is the deposit bottle drop in the back corner. The security guards at the bottle drop are a tad, shall we say, a touch over enthusiastic about their jobs.
I remember that place where my friend Paige spent her girlhood there. It's also where I used to go to Menlo Park Elementary School when I got diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder at age 10.
They are finally starting to clean up this plaza it's not all full of homeless and full of needles on the ground that's why I gave it above medium rating AutoZone and a couple of places in here
The recycling can drop off is a bit busy & smelly... A plus is you get cash on the spot. But you can opt to buy "Green bags" & create an account the down side, funds are not readily available.
We need to continue to monitor these facilities for people who are unreally. Don't ruin what could be a great little plaza and shopping area for us in the vicinity Of this shopping joint
There is so many homeless and dirty every where. No grocery stores (a nice store like Trader's Joes. There is nothing good anymore. We had a wonderful shopping plaza, but not any more
Careful here. I had my car broken into, window busted out, and belongings stolen. The parking lot has cameras. It was well lit, and people were around. But not a safe neighborhood!
There isn't anything bad, or exceptional about this strip mall. Unless you factor that it shares it's name with one of the malls in Red Bank, NJ that's mentioned in Chasing Any.
I go here for the bottle drop there's a couple of bars in the parking lot that have video poker there's a Walgreens an auto parts store so it works out for a lot of reasons
The plaza just like most things on this side of town is dying. A big box stores draw of Walgreens is about it besides Auto zone and the bottle return for cans and bottles.
Another druggie Portland area...like everywhere else in Portland. The homeless situation is far worse than I thought. Makes Seattle look sober and clean. Yeah, that bad!
Half empty strip mall filled with meth-heads, prostitutes, and homeless campers. Only reasons to go here are US Bank, AutoZone, Walgreen's, or to drop off deposit cans.
Parking lot was pretty dirty homeless hanging around and there staff and Walgreens where I went was clean as usual and friendly staff that's just the area around there
What is there to say? It's a strip shopping center. Lots of parking not covered 2 bars a bank bottledrop location Auto store a drug store and the Lumber Liquidators
We go here about once every two or three months to the Bottle Drop recycling center. They have a restriction that the containers must have been purchased in Oregon.
I think it could definitely use a clean up crew. Maybe more trash because of bottle drop not sure. Definitely do not go to this area unless running into Walgreens
lot of homeless after dark. Few weeks ago i stopped here at the auto zone any someone stole my hoodie, hat and some cds out of my car at 3pm in the afternoon....
Just be careful as this parking lot is not well designed and the bottle drop in the back creates a lot of foot traffic that don't care where they are walking.
No security that I could see. Parking lot is full of transients. Couldn't get into Walgreen's w/out being aggressively pushed for "spare change" or "a smoke"
My boyfriend left me pregnant in the parking lot, and the bar (not drinking) wouldn't give me their Wi-Fi password. However, I did make six bucks on cans.
This is a somewhat run down strip mall in an economically struggling neighborhood. We frequent the teriyaki restaurant and hawaiian foods grocery store.
Customer. Service. Was. A. Ten. Very. Competent. Sales. Lady . Need. More. People. Like. Her . Makes. Me. Want. To. Ask. For. Her ..Everytime. I. Go
There is a harm reduction clinic run by the city that is a great place to get clean needles. There is no sign, but its next to the teriyaki place.
I love their Mexican donuts here and their meat. Yummy , would definitely recommend shopping here for your ingredients for a bomb bbq. …
This plaza has a great teriyaki restaurant two bars paradise and cleary's wal greens and the bottle drop you pick the order. I choose paradise.
At Paradise Sports Bar...even though there were no NBA playoffs...I still had a great time. Teresa and Penny, are a great team of bartenders.
Walgreens drive thru is awesome. Pharmacy technicians are always courteous even under rush hour pressures. This is my regular drive through.
Absolutely loved the exchange. The employees were as hopeful as possible with great attitudes. I most definitely will return there again.
I've been to a lot of shops in the plaza. Its a little run down, but they are making a lot of improvements. I still like to come here.
Walgreens photo is or at least was having trouble with their printer But that's the only reason I'd be giving it a 4star right now
Place is very clean n the service is awesome, reasonable prices for a convenience store/gas station, hot coffee lots of goodies
Many businesses have left. Large empty spaces. Homeless shelter across the street. Bottle drop is a crime magnet. Creepy area.
Navigating through the parking lot can be a little precarious. I'm happy to see new businesses coming in where others left.
Been going here since 2000. Prices have gone up like evrything else BUT still worth it. Thanks to all the barbers here!
Went to pick up something at Walgreens. Not busy. Nudop the check out person was warm & had a friendly personality.
In to use Bottle Drop. Went quickly due to attentive staff enforcing rules and order in a busy location.
I had an issue with a product, went back and they replaced it without questions. That was great
Visited Harbor Freight Tools. Clean store and very helpful staff !! Great deals on tools etc..
I was at the new Harbor freight Tools store. Good to see some new businesses in empty spaces.
Poor services for minority and ethnic community. It seems a place for only white people
Love this spot i have the bottle drop a bar walgreens and autozone as well as us bank
The old Staples store is now a Harbor Freight. Welcome to the neighborhood.
Man that waited on us went above and beyond to help. Great experience.
Great customer service but didficult access in hight peak traffic.
Great job with all that u are trying to do keep up the good work.
Easy to get to but watch out for the traffic on Halsey
Great place they usually have what everything I need
As Eric Cartman would say, In the ghettooo...
I have no idea, i must of turned around
Great stores in this shopping center
Sketchy area these days
