Our family of five all are clients of John's and everyone is extremely happy with his professionalism, communication, care and on a personal level his positive, friendly manner. I have gone through a treatment with John's dentistry called "ClearCorrect" - a similar product to "Invisalign" - and the result to correct my teeth alignment has been high above expectation. At the time l signed up to go ahead with ClearCorrect l found there was not much information or reviews available from local sources. I have now completed the treatment and the result is outstanding. Not only can l highly recommended ClearCorrect, but to do this through John. You pay a lump sum and he could easily have finished the treatment earlier. But John went the extra mile, going and achieving the best possible outcome. Sensitive teeth and having them cleaned at the dentist was always a bit of a nightmare. John gets them clean without the pain! Not quite sure how but it must be the latest technologies he uses and his skill and care. I have been to many dentists over the years for myself and my three now adult children and also in other high standard countries like Switzerland and Singapore. John is simply the best!

I made an appointment here 2 weeks in advance with no mention of a deposit or booking fee. The morning before my appointment, I received SEVERAL calls, starting at 8:59am which woke me up. This was followed by a text message from the clinic asking me to pay $50 as a "holding fee" to confirm my appointment, threatening that it will be cancelled unless it is paid by today. This was the first I heard of it. I responded refusing to pay the deposit and received a reply from the dentist Yasmin. Yasmin told me that new customer often don't show up and so the business had adopted this as a new policy. A business telling a new customer that they immediately don't trust them and are suspicious of them and insist on a policy like this is extremely disrespectful and distasteful. A clear demonstration of your lack of goodwill to your new customers, those you would welcome paying money at your establishment. I'll be taking my business to one of your many competitors in mentone.

I’ve had many bad experiences at the dentist over time which made me a fearful and reluctant patient. I’m so pleased I bravely contacted the team at Mentone Smiles and made an appointment! After speaking to the reassuring and very understanding receptionist I was hopeful I’d finally found a dentist who would be a good listener and explain everything clearly - I like to know the details! I’ve certainly found that in spades with John and the Mentone Smiles team. It honestly is the BEST dental experience you could ever hope for from a caring and supportive practice who strive to provide outstanding, wholistic dental care. If you’ve been scarred by previous dental experiences, this is the place to get your dental health back on track. I wish I’d called Mentone Smiles sooner.

I have been going to this clinic for a couple of years, however I won’t be returning ever again. They’re more focused on charging a $50 booking fee and maximising their profits than having good relationships with their clients. I had two appointments cancelled by them, both short noticed due to Covid lockdowns which I was very understanding. However, they did not give me the same respect when I was unable to attend due to being a Covid close contact (This only happened once and I never actually confirmed the appointment). Recently, when I called to make an appointment, the receptionist said that I need to make a $50 upfront payment because there was a note on my account.

I’ve been to a few dentists but nothing compares to Mentone Smiles, staff are amazing and friendly. My dentist Dr Gornall was highly outstanding, he goes through absolutely everything and provides options to best suit your financial status, it’s very affordable. Dr Gornall and the nurse do their work with passion which is terrific. It is always hard to find a great dentist, it is always daunting going to a dentist too but I have 100% found mine for life. We first started coming to this dentist because my partner has anxiety. Our dentist really understands and empathises with people who have anxiety and has a range of strategies for making patients feel more relaxed. Our dentist believes very strongly in informed consent. He explains dental care very carefully and keeps patients informed about what he is doing and why during all procedures. I have never met a dentist that displays best practice and a passion for his job more than our dentist.

I was delighted to find this practice situated so conveniently within the Mentone area having recently moved here with my young family. And I was even more delighted with the service - staff are warm and friendly, the filling was unexpectedly pain-free and Dr Yasmin was professional throughout which assured me that I was in good hands. Claiming the benefit from my private healthcare fund was hassle free. I highly recommend a visit to this practice; I know I'll be returning.

She seems very competent technically, the examination equipment was well advanced on previous clinics, I was given options for further work with costs, and a good conversation! I dislike the dentist as much as anyone and at my previous dentist I was charged for things that I didn't know about until it was time to pay. The team here explained clearly what I needed, made helpful suggestions about ongoing care, didn't push treatments and the bill was much less than I expected. Best thing of course is that it was pain free. I will never visit any other dentist - they are excellent.

John is worth his weight in gold. I have severe phobia combined with anxiety and he took the time to explain everything, help me work through my fear and provided me with the treatment I desperately needed. I've seen many dentists in my time, John is by far my favourite and will now have me as his client for life. I deliberately changed my insurance provider so I could see him without penalty.

John is one of the best dentists I’ve ever been to. Got started when I had a lot of pain near Christmas holidays and luckily got a emergency appointment. Since then he has become my and my wife’s Regular dentist. He is just so calming and does any process with great diligence and care all the while making sure the patient is comfortable. Can't recommend this place highly enough. Crown finished yesterday to perfection. Couldn't be happier. Dr Gornall more than happy to discuss comfort (lets face it, the biggest worry!) and treatment. Staff always friendly and helpful. Pricing completely reasonable. As a Registered Nurse l'm extremely picky but l do believe l have finally found my dentist!

The Only reason I gave them a 3 ⭐ rating was I left when they told me the prices, apparently affordable turns into charge for everything they can. Needed or not. I found the staff very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, like most "affordable" surgeries, management and complicit staff (+bonuses). Not affordable ever.

I had an amazing experience at Mentone Smiles. Dr. John made the whole recovery from severe trauma very easy. The procedure was literally pain free and he is so gentle. He provides clear and concise explanation of what is wrong and how he is fixing it. The whole team is super friendly and I highly recommend Mentone Smiles.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Yasmin for over a year now and she is hands down the best dentist I’ve ever gone to.
