I have been taking my 2 dogs and recently deceased cat there since they opened and have always had a good experience. My English Bulldog has had 2 dental procedures done there and a mass removed off his leg. My 14 yr old kitty got septic in May and they did everything they could to save him and console me during this process. I will forever be grateful for the times the other doctors did take good care of my babies. Fast forward to Saturday 8/26. I called to make an appt with a doctor that Winston had seen before and loved. I was told she moved to the other Capital Hill location. I didn't feel comfortable taking him to Amanda Smith as she had given both my dogs vaccines in June and we got a bad vibe from her at that time. I reluctantly made the appointment for Sunday. We arrive to the appt, Winston still in extreme pain from his ear infections and bad tooth. She walks in, arms crossed and leans up against the sink the WHOLE entire time. She never examined my dog or came near him, did not touch him except towards the end, she gave him a scratch on his back to say good bye. I asked her several times to look in his ears and his mouth. Her reply, "I will if you lift up his lips for me?" I was shocked at her response and my eyes immediately filled up with tears. We are there for her professional opinion on my best friend and she won't even touch him. By the way, he has never been aggressive to anyone or a vet and wasn't doing anything that would make her NOT feel comfortable touching my sick dog. I asked her to please look in his ears, she said she didn't feel she needed to because they were too swollen to see anything anyways! We ended up with a $262 bill for 45 minutes of nothing, just meds, but how do you know what medication to prescribe when you won't examine your patient? I find this infuriating that my dog was never touched or examined and she stood at the sink arms crossed the whole time. I will never go back to this location until she is gone. She has given us such a bad taste in our mouth, I'm having a hard time because I've always loved the doctors and staff there. My recommendation would be to go to any of the other docs, but do let your animals see Dr Smith. She has no compassion for pets or the owners. I started crying half way through and didn't stop until I was home. Unless Mercer St vet makes this experience right for me and my dog, I will be taking this a step further and writing to the owner as well. I am not one to write reviews online, but when it comes to my animals doctor and their well being, and everyone else's pets out there-I will do whatever it takes to make sure they are loved and not in pain.
I’ve been coming here since I got my first cat last year, and my experience has gone very downhill since then. I’ve noticed that the staff I interact with is completely different from a year ago, which may be a part of or a symptom of the problem. In June my cat had an eye issue (conjunctivitis) so I took him here, paid for the visit and medication ($175), and gave the medication as instructed. His eye got WORSE over the next few days so I took him back, paid for another visit and medication ($150) and luckily this time the medication helped. The vet said that sometimes cats can have a bad reaction to the first medication, so I gave her the benefit of the doubt. However I came back a few weeks ago with my first cat and new kitten and I had an even worse experience. I waited in the exam room for over 45 minutes because they seemed to have forgotten I was there. Then when a staff member did finally come and we got to discussing my new kitten, I specifically told the staff that she had her first vaccination a week prior to this visit. The staff member said that my kitten was due for another shot, which I thought was strange, but I assumed she as the expert knew better than me. I waited for a while then the vet came in (different vet than the one I mentioned earlier) and while discussing my cats I mentioned my kitten’s vaccination date again and she was confused, saying that my kitten was NOT due for another vaccination. She went to stop her staff but they had already given my kitten the shot. The vet said it wasn’t a huge issue health wise for my kitten, but I ended up paying for a completely unnecessary vaccination. The only reason I am giving 2 stars and not 1 is because the vet I interacted with at my last visit was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and it’s unfortunate that my experience was marred by other factors. Regardless, I will no longer be coming to this veterinary hospital.
The team at MSVH is the best. In a freak accident Friday night, my cat Daphne got stuck in a tiny corner behind my water heater in my closet (I believe she jumped up to explore and slipped down). She ended up being stuck there for nearly 17 hours since my new property management's emergency maintenance never showed up, despite repeated calling. Also, nearly every "emergency service" plumber in the Puget Sound area didn’t consider a live animal at risk of dying from lack of water and food isn't a true "emergency". I didn’t sleep at all that night, and my cat cried for hours. After a plumber drained the water heater to move it and free Daphne, I dropped her off at MSVH for urgent care. Dr. Kimmel made sure to cover all the bases with Daphne: she administered gabapentin for anxiety relief, an antibiotic to prevent a UTI, an anti-inflammatory for sore hind legs, and an IV for dehydration; ran a blood panel to ensure Daphne’s kidney and liver function weren’t impacted by stress; and even cleaned her up since Daphne soiled herself during the incident. Dr. Kimmel called throughout the day to communicate Daphne’s status and care — I so appreciate how thorough and transparent she was! I was actually supposed to move to San Francisco the same day, so Dr. Kimmel also made sure Daphne was okay to fly and move into a new home that night. She administered an additional dosage of gabapentin before I picked Daphne up, setting her up for success for her first flight! Thanks to Dr. Kimmel, Daphne fully recovered from the traumatic incident in 2 days. Daphne also saw Dr. Love for her primary care the past two years. Dr. Love is just as kind and knowledgeable as Dr. Kimmel! I can't say more wonderful things about this business, and am sad that I’ll need to find a new vet in my new city. Hopefully, the new vet will treat Daphne like a queen like MSVH always has.
I’m not a client of Mercer Street Vet and never will be after my interaction with them today. I have a dog who has severe food allergies and has to be fed a specific dog food. Unfortunately, thanks to Covid, even dog food seems to have run into production issues and the food my dog eats ran out of stock. So I’ve been calling all the places around town listed on the manufacturer’s website in an attempt to find some of this special food as we are completely out. I was thankful to find Mercer Street had some in stock, but was quite taken aback when the vet refused to sell it to me as I’m not a current client. I asked if I could have my vet send over her prescription and he just flatly refused, even after I explained my dog is out of food and can’t eat anything else due to her insane allergies. In a calm voice I expressed my distress and told him I don’t understand the policy given the situation and he accused me of haranguing him and hung up on me. I had not raised my voice, swore, or done anything to deserve that. However, I did tell him this: “My takeaway from this interaction is that you don’t truly care about animal’s health.” Because I truly believe that. If he did care about animals it would have been a simple thing to sell me the food that will prevent my dog from starvation or the bad health effects caused by her food allergies, that she will surely suffer from am I not able to find this food somewhere. Have some compassion, she’s a dog! Crazy that in this day and age with all the supply chain issues the pandemic is causing that we can’t all stick together and help one another out.
I recently brought my cat to the Mercer Street Veterinary Hospital. It was my first visit. I had called two veterinary hospitals closer to me, but was directed by both to voicemail and sending me on-line to get appointment information. My cat’s condition needed more immediate attention. Fate intervened for I called The Mercer Street Vet and was answered directly by a real person who was able to help me and even had an appointment available that morning. The whole experience at the hospital was excellent; from the front desk to the vet tech to the doctor. The receptionist at the front desk was polite, articulate, and helpful with making the appointment and in assisting me in securing records from previous out of state Veterinarian. In the consultation room, the vet tech and Doctor Love both expressed genuine care and concern for my cat’s issue (and my anxiety) and patiently listened to me as I recounted the symptoms for why I brought my cat in. Dr. Love clearly explained the options in going further and what she felt was going on with my cat’s condition. Dr. Love even took the time to follow up a few days later to see how my cat was doing, which I very much appreciated, and which is also something that I have not experienced with any other veterinarian or hospital. I am thankful to have found Mercer Street Vet and very grateful to Dr. Love and her team for all of their help, support, and kindness. I could not have asked for a better experience. I fully recommend this hospital for your pet’s health needs.
Took my senior cat in to check his eyes (going blind) and get his nails trimmed. I had called days before hand to make an appointment. The front desk told me they had no openings and just do a walk in Friday morning at 7am. I confirmed this with her 3 times on the phone, that a walk in at 7am was ok and just call before you arrive. I arrived Friday morning and the front desk told me there was no doctors at the office yet and told me to come back. They fit me in at a later time appointment which I had to take time off to drive home and return again later twice. They ended up doing blood work, said we need urine test (after he got so stressed and freaked out and his urine had a little blood), totaling $900. When I brought my cat back home, he completely stopped eating and was wobbling. He did not recover and he was never in this state before the appointment. He couldn't stand anymore, stopped drinking, though we tried syringe with liquid, his pills for Thyroid (they prescribed) crushed up, chicken broth, also tried puree chicken. Nothing worked, he died 4 days later. He may of been a senior cat with issues, but he was eating and walking just fine before his appointment. I am utterly crushed and angry with them.
I LOVE the Mercer Street Vet team so much. I moved to the neighborhood two years ago, right when I got my first ever dog (never even had dogs growing up). They have been undeniably patient and helpful while I am learning to care for my dog. Over the years, we’ve met with multiple doctors for different things and each of them are kind, thorough, compassionate experts who make me feel so confident in there ability to care for my dog. All of the Vet Techs and employees are kind and clearly animal-loving. I truly love how at-home they make me feel. Plus, the new facility is well decorated and super clean/modern - & more parking. I loved going to them even before the new facility but it’s definitely an upgrade! Something else I love about their care is I can call, email or text depending on what’s best for me. Their appointment follow-ups to check in on my dog are always so kind, too. Even I move out of the neighborhood, I will definitely keep coming to Mercer Street Vet. They’re the best! (For context- I have a 5yo Golden Retriever male. They did his neutering surgery, all vaccines, skin rash help, nail trimming, X-rays when I thought he swallowed a bone, care when he was bit by another dog and more.)
I am very grateful for Mercer Street Vet and everyone who works there. Quite a few months ago, our old dog was suffering and the vets at Mercer Street were able to catch what was wrong with him and give him proper medication after a previous vet gave us the runaround for over a year and never caught what seemed to be a very easy catch. The vet took time to not only explain everything in depth to my husband, but took the time to repeat everything in depth to me when I arrived because she knew that previous vets had such a blasé attitude towards our dogs health. It was such a breath of fresh air. We knew our dog Rico Suave was in the best hands when we had to leave him at the vet due to Covid-19. We never worried. They directed us the best they could with compassion when we were at the point of considering end of life. When we put Rico Suave down at home, Mercer Street sent us a card filled with condolences. It was such a kind gesture. They have been so gracious and compassionate during our short time knowing them and I can say without a single doubt, when our hearts are ready to adopt another dog, Mercer Street Vet will be the ones we will trust with the care of that family member.
There are not enough good things I could say about Mercer Street Veterinary Hospital. I have been bringing my pets here for over 5 years and despite moving away from the city I still make the trek over because I know I am going to always have a great experience with them. They are affordable, thorough and have an amazing bedside manner. Even when they are delivering harder news they stay positive and supportive. My furbabies always feel comfortable and happy while they are in their facility which puts me at ease. Today I had yet another great interaction with their staff when I called for information on my last visit. Maddy was incredibly helpful! She talked me through all my questions and even looked up extra information on supplements I was thinking about buying so she could more accurately help me select the correct one for our needs! I am continually impressed with their service! I also learned I can order all of my meds and supplements through them and they will ship them to me! I am happy to support such a wonderful place especially when things are so rough for small businesses. Thank you again Mercer St Vet Hospital! Definitely would recommend them!
We use Mercer Street Vet regularly because they are close to the house, but they really stood out to us when it mattered recently. Our younger pup was feeling unwell, he had been to the emergency vet (not Mercer St Vet) already a week before with really no resolve, we went back to the same emergency vet a week later and they were packed full. We were desperate to get him in somewhere, we called Mercer Street and they took him in for the day on short notice, and worked around other appointments to run testing. We had an answer by the end of day, for a fraction of the cost of the emergency vet. It was the perfect balance for his situation as well, he didn't need to be stabilized but obviously something wasn't quite right, we needed urgent but not emergency care. Our pup is pretty active, but he is calm there. They have taken the time to work with him every time so he in more comfortable there in the long term. He was a nervous wreck at the emergency vet, and it made us all just a bit more stressed. I already really liked this place, from the front desk people to the vets, but I am so sold after this last interaction with them.
I had such a wonderful experience at Mercer street vet hospital. My poor kitty Draco was acting sickly the night before and I hadn’t had an established vet since I just moved to the Seattle area. In a panic, I called a bunch of vets and all were not accepting new clients. I called Mercer Street Vet and the receptionist was so so kind and found a way to get me into the schedule under urgent care to get little Draco seen. At the visit, they did a full examination of Draco and walked me though their findings and gave me a plan to continue on with treatments for him to get better. I’m also very pleasantly surprised with the pricing here and the quality of care. We want out animals to be treated with the utmost care and I absolutely saw that at this vet hospital. This will be my permanent vet for as long as I live in Seattle. The staff are kind, sweet, and very very informative. Dr. Ashley Pacheco and her team are amazing with their care of animals. I am thoroughly impressed.
I am definitely someone who resembles their pet a lot. My husky is anxious, fussy, temperamental, and an all around princess with a plethora of random health issues that I swear she causes for herself on a whim! Because of this I have always been very particular about where she goes and who she sees, especially when it comes to her vet. Pepper has been going to Dr. Marzullo for over two years now, and every time she is greeted with the friendliest staff, and even though the visits can be stressful for her, I can tell she is comfortable with everyone there. Well, as comfortable as a husky can get, right? I'm eternally grateful for everything Mercer Street has done for us, and highly recommend going here if you are looking for a very attentive office! My Pepper has recently moved away to live in a country home for her old years, but I will definitely be bringing any future fur family here. Thank you for everything, team!
Mercer Street Vet is so awesome! My puppy wasn’t feeling well and they were my first choice to bring him to after doing a quick search of nearby vets. They didn’t have any time slots, but they did say that I could drop my puppy off and that the doctor would see him in between patients. I was so relieved I could bring him in! The staff was so nice and answered any questions I had. After examining Henry Dr. Love called me and explained what was going on and what she recommended. She gave a thorough explanation of what he had and what he needs. When I picked him up the staff was friendly and helpful again. I had a good amount of questions about Henry’s medication, but they took their time and explained everything. They even sent a text the next day to check up on Henry! We had such a great experience and will definitely continue to go to Mercer Street Vet for all of Henry’s needs!
Today I had my second bad experience with Mercer St vet. I would not recommend this vet unless you don't have other options. I will not be going back if I can help it... The first was when I took a cat for a weepy eye and they told me it was allergies and to try an allergy eye drops for humans. That cat was taken to another vet and diagnosed with a blocked tear duct and given antibiotics. Today I took a cat in for a URI and dandruff on her head and near her spine. They gave me antibiotics for the URI (yay!) but failed to look at the dandruff. When I asked about it, the vet assistant took her back into the vet and the vet said "it's just the way her fur parts"... She has white flakes through her fur and the patch on her head caused some fur to fall out in small chunks... My only comfort is that it doesn't seem to be bothering her so I'm hoping it will resolve on its own...
TL;DR this is a high quality vet clinic with responsive and compassionate staff. I would go here for any of the my pet health needs. About a month ago I discovered some sort of growth on my dogs behind. Of course, my initial reaction was to be mortified... Bella is 10 years old and I thought perhaps her final chapter was coming sooner than I had ever anticipated. Thankfully, I found Mercer Street Vet Clinic and they appeared to be one of the more reputable vet clinics in Seattle that wereopen on weekends. Boy am I glad I went to them. As soon as I contacted them they were very responsive and set up a plan to see my dog on the same day (a Sunday). Dr. Love and the vet team at this Clinic treated Bella very well. And thankfully they helped reassure me that the cyst would go away with a short course of antibiotics. And surely it did!
I used to take my two cats here and thought they were good, very professional and compassionate. The doctors always followed up with questions and concerns, even after hours and remembered my cats and their needs. However, there was a recent turn over of staff and I've had nothing but bad experiences since. Every time I go in I have a new doctor and new person at the reception, no one knows who I am. They don't keep files updated properly and they mess up on billing and other information, even if I repeat it multiple times. Most recently they charged me over $1,000 for dental and did not inform me of possible side effects an injection could have on my cat. They offered no reasonable solution, so now I will have to wait three whole days until the medicine wears off. I would not recommend you take your pets here!
I am very pleased with the experience at Mercer Street Veterinary Hospital. My wife and I took our 14-year-old cat ‘Honey’ in on a Sunday, after her foot became infected due to a chronic condition. Honey was being treated at a different clinic but they weren’t open on the weekend when her condition worsened. The team at Mercer Street got her in right away and Dr. Selmon was very caring and professional. Honey has a rare condition which not a lot is known about, so Dr. Selmon did quite a bit of research. As a result, we were given more treatment options and even though there is no cure, Honey has been doing much better since. I brought her back a couple of times for follow-up treatments and each time have received compassionate care. Thank you Dr. Selmon and the team at Mercer Street Veterinary Hospital!
Wow!!! Let me tell you this place is legit. Our dog Ernie can be a handful. We’ve had previous nail techs in the past have to stop because he’s either been too anxious or aggressive. He’s a rat terrier chihuahua mix and a bundle of anxiety. At Petco they could only cut half of his nails and charged us full price. Last week we took him in for a vet checkup and the doctor was so sweet and he loved both staff. Yesterday we took him in for a routine nail trim for the first time in honestly about 6 months. It literally took the nail trimmer 5 minutes! I’m not sure what magic she was working but he came out of the room happy and smiling; which previously I would not pair with a vet experience. Ernie clearly loves this spot and we will be a repeating customer! So happy I found this Mercer Street Vet.
I've had a good experience with Mercer Street Vet until recently when I brought my dog in for diarrhea. The vet prescribed procedures that totaled $400 without physically examining my dog. I questioned the need for the IV fluid injection because my dog was drinking and eating normally. When I raised this issue, the vet responded by saying she wasn't sure if my dog was dehydrated and proceeded to roughly grab his mouth to check. It's no surprise that my poor dog was scared by this encounter. What's even more concerning is that the vet kept blaming his fearfulness, which seems questionable considering he had a thorough check-up by another vet just four days ago with no issues. It makes me wonder about their approach and whether they truly prioritize the well-being and comfort of our beloved pets.
I just transferred to the area temporarily and needed a vet. My friend takes her pets to Mercer and suggested it to me. I was able to get my cat in for an appointment relatively quickly. I needed to follow up from an out of state vet's recommendation for tooth extraction. From the consultation, to blood work, to the day of sedation and tooth cleaning, we were treated superbly. Detailed instructions, questions thoroughly answered, text messages inquiring about how my cat was feeling - I was definitely impressed. After the tooth evaluation and cleaning, I was advised that he didn't even need any teeth extracted. No needless procedures or racking up unnecessary costs. I wish I lived here permanently, I would love to have them as our vets for life. 100% hands down the best experience ever.
The staff is very professional and genuinely seem to care about my cats. They have a lot of flexibility with their schedule and office is always clean. When i had to put down one of my 22 year old cat because her kidneys were failing, they gave me lots of options, were very compassionate, and sent me a condolences card. Their sensitivity meant a lot to me. My only minor criticism is I wish they were more clear about what services they are recommending for my cats, and what services are actually necessary. I never feel pushed to buy things I don't need, but I also unsure what to say no to....I am not marking them down for this because that's probably as much my fault for not being more educated as it is their opportunity to help me.
I left my prior vet due to odd hours and lots of vets seeming to come and go over the years and was grateful to find that one of my favorite vets had moved to this location. We’ve since been in for 2 issues and 2 wellness visits… staff and doctors have been excellent all around, facility is clean, parking is easy, and their hours make it easier to connect over phone and/or get an appointment. I generally ask a lot of questions and the vets are patient and seem up to date on latest studies/treatments/etc. Most recently, they even showed me how they count the yeast in the sample from my dog’s ear… They also really help my nervous/excited dog feel comfortable with them. Grateful I found this group.
Recommend these folks 99 out of 10 times (yes 10); cannot recommend highly enough. I came into town and had to get my dog neutered soon there after, before I started work. They got me in for a first visit the day after calling and had my guy scheduled for neuter within a week. Everything has been a class act with them; the staff were friendly, the veterinarian spent a ton of time with me, answered all my questions, and all decision making was shared. Follow-up was timely and pricing was transparent. From interactions with previous veterinarians and animal hospitals, I had my socks knocked off by this organization and look forwards to working with them over the coming years.
Took my puppy in because she was being lethargic and not her normal crazy self. The staff was super kind and informative to me, from reception, to vet techs, to the vet. They went over every aspect of potential cost with us and let us know what they felt was necessary, and let us opt out of things that were extra precautions. They treated her amazingly and gave us lots of feedback regarding her condition and how she was handling being at a new vet without us able to be present. They gave us options for her care(+ cost of said care) and gave us enough information for us to make an informed decision. Definitely recommend! It is a bit pricy, but that's just how Seattle is.
Dr. Edwards and her team are so kind, professional, and attentive. I have brought my girl Charli here 2 times in the last month, and plan to continue going here long term. My cat has FeLV, so I knew I would be doing more frequent vet visits from the start. I've been impressed at how reasonable the exam fees have been, and Dr. Edwards has been very clear with me on how to give her the best care and look out for our new furry friend! I appreciate going to a vet and not feeling "scammed" or like everything has an unknown fee. With COVID-19, you need to wait outside/in your car during the exam, but they use phone calls to keep you up or date through the whole process.
Be really weary of unnecessary testing. I brought my dog in with suspected infection. I had expected to leave that day with a quick exam and some antibiotics. The treatment plan went straight to x-raying the area with a total price of $1,100. I said no due to the fact there was no good reasoning and they hadn’t even physically examined my dog yet. The next treatment plan they offered me was drawing labs and aspirating fluid for suspected cancer. I left the vet paying $500 for them to call me later saying that it’s just bacteria and he needs antibiotics. All of which could have been done without invasive work. The antibiotics cost me an additional $50.
The vet needs to learn more about pet psychology and be sensitive that pets are essentially children. They prefer to DRUG my cat instead of having me with her during procedures. The results was a totally traumatized cat who hind under the bed for 6 hours. Which kid or pet will let strangers touch and stick needles into them without parents holding them and comfort them? Who gonna drug their kids so it can be convenient to the doc to do regular vaccine and check up? My 10 years old cat had pretty good experience with her previous vet in Chicago. Vet should know building long term relationship, instead of drug every time.
If I could give Mercer Street Veterinary Hospital more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! Dr. Selmon and staff at Mercer have been extremely helpful - the communication and support has been so helpful while trying to find the best treatment option for my cat Smokey. They are supportive and understanding when it comes to treatment options and always willing to answer any questions. I am so thankful for their excellent care of Smokey and that they truly go above and beyond in their care of their patients as well as the owners. Highly recommend Mercer Street Veterinary Hospital to everyone who has fur-babies!
Wow! What a pleasant surprise and breath of positivity! I have 2 rescue hound dogs - a sweet sweet senior and an anxious young buddy. The entire team treated us with kindness from the moment we walked into the door. They were gentle, caring, and thorough. Dr. Love spent a lot of time with us, making sure all our needs were met. Her assistants were present and upbeat. They worked so well together! In the past, we have dreaded trips to the vet. However, this experience has completely changed how I feel. Thank you Mercer Street - I am feeling grateful :-)
This was absolutely the best veterinary experience I have ever had. Our boy is a rescue from a bad situation and as a result is very fearful and can be reactive with new people. Dr. Marzullo and and vet tech Jessica were so so patient and kind. They took their time with him and recommended we come back with our dog several more times to just acclimate him to the clinic before his appointment so he would be under less stress. We could not be more pleased and thankful for the considerate care we received for our dog.
We followed the Urban Vet folks here after they left DDL and have had nothing but positive experiences. I have always found Dr. Clare to be very straight forward, direct, and practical as well as very nice and caring about my animals. She doesn't guilt you into procedures and I have never left feeling like I just paid for unnecessary services. I can't say the same about my experience at other local vets. We now have two dogs here and plan to stay even though there are vets closer to where we live.
Nice location, good hours, reasonable pricing, clean and calm atmosphere and friendly staff. What else could we ask for? We and our family of 2 cats and a lab were excited to see this wonderful addition to our neighborhood. Our visit was great. The whole staff was very caring and professional at the same time. It was their first week of opening and but they were fairly busy. All of the employees seemed like experienced professionals than a brand new team. I am sure people love them already.
Everyone from the front desk to the vet were insanely sweet, knowledgeable, and informative. I only give 4 stars because they seemed really busy or under staffed because there was 30 mins to an hour of wait time between talking to the vet assistant and getting my kitties in for their checkups and vaccines. Not super negative, my cats were just anxious since the waiting area doesn’t have windows. Thank you for all of the detailed kitty care options and great service!
Best experience at a vet in a long time. My dog's previous vet has been unresponsive and lacking professionalism. I called the Mercer Street vet Saturday morning in hopes to get an appt for my dog's skin issue and they called me back within 30 min of opening their doors and was able to get in immediately. From the front desk to meeting the Vet our entire experience was top notch and we have a new place to take our sweet dog. Thank you everyone at Mercer Street Vet!
The service is good, people are kind. But I’m not sure if that is just a coincidence or sth, my cat got FIP after taking vaccine there. And the worst thing is, after the blood test and providing all the symptoms, they didn’t realize that is FIP, instead they just told me that is anemia, maybe caused by some toxic stuff. They told me to wait for a few more weeks and do nothing. When I find it was FIP, that is too late and I did everything to save her but I failed .
Staff was friendly, welcoming, and understanding and I really felt like the doctor took time to listen, explain, and make my pup and me feel comfortable. I also felt like they only did what was necessary and actually care about the well-being of my pet as opposed to ordering tests/treatments that were unnecessary (which used to happen to me a lot in chicago). I was also pleasantly surprised by the fair pricing. Will be going back for sure. thank you.
I was referred to this veterinary clinic by a friend for a second opinion for my cat. Adrianne was absolutely amazing! She was able to get me scheduled for the very next day and made sure that my cat was going to be able to get any testing needed to be able to determine the root of the problem along with all possible treatment plans. Adrianne gave me great peace of mind and I appreciate her kindness and everything that she was able to do for me!
Mercer Street has been nothing short of fabulous for my little Wilson. Every single person I've interacted with on staff has been so gracious and kind. They were able to squeeze Wilson in when he got sick ✨twice✨ and always provide me with the most thoughtful, thorough information. They're always looking out for the best interest of Willie and myself. They also follow up to check up on him the day or days after is visit. 11/10 would recommend
Mercer Street is my regular vet. They have taken wonderful care of my dog from day 1. Today, he had a medical emergency. I called, they worked him in right away. Everyone from the front office to the tech to vet were very supportive, kind and concerned. They made me confident he was in good hands. The took care of the issue quickly but also very throughly and professionally. I highly recommend Mercer Street Veterinary Hospital
I've brought my cat here three times now and they are always very friendly and helpful. She was diagnosed with Stomatosis and had to have a tooth cleaning and extraction. I was able to schedule this within the same week. Today I brought her in for her appointment and they had her all fixed up and ready to be picked up by late afternoon. She's happy as a clam and everyone was super helpful and kind.
I’ve had two great experiences at MSVH with my 10 year old dog. During the most recent visit, the first vet, Craig, who took temperature and recorded symptoms was very kind and sensitive, and had a great sense of humor. Dr. Morris, who gave my dog the exam, was the perfect combination of sensitive, playful, and professional, and I left with great insight into how to best serve my dog’s needs.
Great vet clinic! The staff is very helpful and kind and the Doctor is great at easing anxieties and caring about my pup as much as I do! Cost is also not bad and when I have a pressing need they have been great about getting me in. My dog is even excited to go which is a great sign! It is curbside only right now but I know he gets all the love and attention when he goes in! Thanks everyone!
Mercer Street Vet was amazing! First, they got us in right away...Working with our previous out of state vet, for records. We arrived to appointment greeted enthusiastically! The staff was fantastic! Friendly, personable and just lovely! We saw Dr. Dawson, who was prompt, understanding and simply listened to our concerns. We're thrilled to be included into the Mercer Street Vet family!
The best vet we've ever been to, hands down. We bring our cat, Dim Sum, and our puppy, Georgie, here and have always been so happy with the service we've received. Georgie gets excited and looks forward to when she can come visit because of how much she adores everyone here. It is obvious that every person who works here cares deeply about the wellbeing of every animal that comes in.
I'm so glad we found Mercer Street Vet and Dr. Selmon. Our dog is extremely fearful and vet trips used to give him so much anxiety. The staff at Mercer Street go above and beyond to get him comfortable, taking the time he needs to warm up to them and using treats when needed. It's made such a difference and the best vet experience I've had in over 20 years of dog ownership.
Cannot say enough nice things about this place. My husband and I and our 2 cats were happily here for 4 years and only went to a new vet when we moved. If it wasn't an hour drive one way, I'd STILL be going to Mercer St. Vet. All the staff are caring and friendly, my (now senior) cats aren't scared of anyone there and are always treated like family. Highly recommend.
This is my first time visiting the Mercer Street Veterinary Hospital, and it is so far the best experience I've ever had with any vet. The entire process was streamlined, and it was a breeze to finish the wellness check and vaccinations. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area looking for high quality care for your fur friend. Would 100% come back again.
Mercer street veterinary hospital has always taken care of our fur babies. They are helpful, always quick to reply to emails and phone calls and are very thorough in their examinations. I have always felt like our animals are in good hands and despite moving away from Seattle we still make the 40 minute drive to take our animals there. Would definitely recommend.
I enjoy bringing my dogs to this facility. I have two tiny chihuahuas, and they get treated lIke princesses. Also, the office is very responsive to questions I have or to requests to send my pups’ vaccine records to grooming and boarding places. I love the follow up call the day after a visit. Makes me feel like they care as much about my dogs as I do.
A great clinic with great veterinarians and staff! I always worry about bringing my cat in because she isn’t very socialized yet, but she always leaves her appointment in good spirits. I’m happy to have such a kind and reliable vet team in my neighborhood. It’s also worth noting that they have been operating very safely/cleanly during COVID-19.
Mercer St Vet has been incredibly helpful and kind to our rescue's animals. We are so grateful to the wonderful staff and doctors who help our animals get back on the path to health! They are communicative, easy to work with, easy to access, and reasonably priced. Can't recommend enough, and we will be sending future adopters their way!
Mercer street vet made the long and stressful process of getting my cat up to date on her rabies vaccines, antibodies bloodwork, and health certificate all required to move to Hawaii as quick and painless as it could be! Both my cat and I are happy with how she was treated and she was always in high spirits when we left their office.

I took two of my cats to MSVH and they took pretty great care of them. They established general care, administered vaccines, showed me certain aspects of grooming and gave me great tips on managing well being of my cats. They were very gently with my cats who were pretty nervous of the place. Highly recommended.
The staff was great from initial phone call to check out! We have a dog who is anxious at the vet, to the point he releases his anal glands, the staff was very gentle and loving with him which made me and my boyfriend feels at ease. Dr. Tine was very caring and took the extra time to answer all of our questions.
Went there with my rescue Freya, it was our first ever visit. Freya is cautious of people, but the great people here made her feel welcomed. It was a great experience, and overall I'm super happy with making them my go to vet. Selmon and Lance were fantastic, I'd recommend them to anyone. 10/10 would recommend
10/10 I recently moved from Chicago to Seattle. I wanted to establish dog care here. I am so glad I chose Mercer Street Vet! The staff was so informative, patient, and friendly. I really was blown away by the care and professionalism here. Definitely recommend! Edit: shoutout to Dr. Teyssier and Lance !!
I have had great experiences here! The entire staff is always super helpful and nice. The doctors have helped solve multiple problems for my kitties and I trust them to keep them healthy. The services have been expensive, but they are very transparent about pricing and always send cost estimates.
Positive on all fronts..staff, vet and techs. They treat your pet as if it's their own, will take the time to thoroughly go over your pet's treatment. And will call to follow up how things are going the very next day, or that evening on a morning Peace of mind taking my cat there?Priceless.
Super friendly clinic! I brought my new kitten here when I got her from the humane society and they took care of her shots and general physical. They have also been accessible via phone/email for all the random questions I have as a new cat owner. Love the new location too.
Dr. Love and the staff were absolutely wonderful. They answered all of my questions and provided me with helpful information and tips. They were great with my puppy and she had a great experience. Stella Moon (my puppy) and I highly recommend Mercer Street Vet Hospital.
I just adopted a puppy and brought him to Mercer Street today for his first visit. First, they made the process of a new patient so easy! They were so kind today and made it a great experience! I know Oliver is in good hands and im happy to have established care here!
The appointment went very well! It didn’t take too long to be seen. The doctor conducted a very thorough and professional study. The doctor was gentle and playful with Henry, and gave great advice and helpful information regarding Henry’s diet and healthcare needs.
This has been our vet for years and our experiences with both a 20+ year old cat and our very timid lab mix have been amazing. The team is very competent and very friendly and accommodating. Oh, and they don’t try to sell you stuff you don’t need.
So so grateful for the staff here! They really take their time to make the animals and humans alike comfortable and their passion really shows. Our favorite vet tech, Maddy, makes our pups feel at home and excited from the minute they walk in <3
They took such good care of my pup here. Love both the Queen Anne and Fremont locations. They’re transparent about care options and pricing. They are always so gentle and make sure my dog is comfortable. Had Winnie good as new in no time. :)
From kindness to caring, authentic and honest. I brought my sweet cat in for the first time, knowing the outlook was grim. The room was clean and designed thoughtfully with a little space for my cat to hide. Reed was sweet and gentle with
Mercer Street Vet is our favorite vet. They truly treat your pet like family. They are knowledgeable, kind, and communicative. They provide specialized care to our greyhound and are experts in their field. We feel lucky to have found them!
I had a wonderful experience today at MSVH. I brought my newly arrived older kitty in because she seemed to be having some trouble and they took such great care of me and her both. I can absolutely recommend them for feline urgent care!
They got my doggy in within 24 hours of calling and cared for her with BIG love. Most importantly for us, I was allowed in the patients room with my fur gal (post covid not all do this!) 10/10 would go back. We felt at home. Thank you.
I travel from well outside Seattle to Mercer Street to bring my pup to this vet. So informative, so professional, and so compassionate. They were there in an emergency once and now I won’t go anywhere else. Highly recommend!
Everyone at the practice was both knowledgeable and friendly. I felt confident in the care I was getting, and reassured through a stressful process. I have no negatives, I was very happy with my visit to Mercer St Vet.
They are absolutely wonderful!!! They were able to fit is in, last minute, on a Saturday, for a semi-urgent visit. They took great care of my kitty!! I'm just sad we didn't discover Mercer St Vet sooner!!!
They did a great job for my scared cat's first visit. I had a lot of trouble putting her in the carrier and she seemer so stressed. The visit ended up being very smooth and they handled her so well!
It was an amazing experience! The receptionist offered us coffee and tea and even brought us back to our room. Level of care and professionalism was outstanding. Would recommend to any pet owners!
Such a helpful and sweet staff! I was able to quickly get an appointment and the staff and vet made me feel immediately at home. My puppy was adored by everyone. Absolutely recommend!
These folks are wonderful. They run on time all the time and they are super friendly and obviously love pets. We are so glad we switched our dog's care to them.
I’ve owned dogs for 20+ years and this is the best vet experience I have ever had! Super knowledgeable and friendly staff! I highly recommend.
I really like this vet! They were very kind and helpful for me and my cat. Getting an appointment was quick and easy and the pricing was fair.
Very pleased with expert care and great communication of whole team. My old girl had most of her teeth extracted and she's doing very well.
