My father was diagnosed with AML a month ago, in October. He started treatment right away and was able to reach remission. He was inpatient for almost the whole month and the treatment he received during that time was exceptional. His nurses were so great and very compassionate— he loved them. They always explained everything going on to me as well, which I really appreciated. This month, my father returned the second week of the month to receive maintenance chemotherapy. He finished it and everything was well. He felt okay and everything looked okay. Until it wasn’t. I won’t go into much detail, but what I do have to say is that the night of my father’s passing, he had the WORST oncology nurse and assistant nurse(?) Honestly not too sure who she was, but she seemed to be practicing, so maybe a student? Their names are DIANA and KRISTIE?. My father was in SO MUCH PAIN! They were so inconsiderate. I arrived at around 11pm. My dad was alone, in the room with so much pain. I called in the nurse and she explained what had been done and what was going on. Then I asked something about the doctor. Oncology nurse Diana’s response went along the lines of: “The doctor will see patients in the morning if they’re still alive by then.” ?!?!?! So heartless saying that to me knowing what was going on. We felt frustrated not being able to do anything about my dad’s ongoing pain. He then told me to ask them about just going to the ER to have an actual doctor look at him instead of waiting until the morning. I knew that couldn’t be done, but my father wanted to me to ask, so I did. And what did Diana and the other lady do? LAUGH. They laughed at our frustration of not being able to do anything. Of course they didn’t laugh at my face, but the door was opened and I heard them. They also just looked annoyed that we kept calling them, BUT WE DIDNT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO! My father then started complaining about chest pain. They said it was because of reflux? It wasn’t. Everything went worse from there. But once others arrived is when they started to act completely different. Acting like they actually cared about my father. My father then unfortunately passed away in the morning. Two of his day nurses went to look for us to give us their condolences and it is obvious since I met them that they genuinely do care about their patients. I wish I knew both of their names, but I only remember Nicole. If only they had been with him instead of those other two.. We had such a great experience in this hospital the first month my dad was inpatient, but this time around, that completely changed. I am disappointed and if I could have taken him somewhere else, I would have.

I arrived at 7 am for a routine bone marrow biopsy. The procedure was supposed to start at 9 am. Instead, I sat in the surgical waiting room until 10:30, no one informing me why there was a delay. Finally, I walked over to the Radiology office down the hallway, where the lobby was empty, and asked the receptionist hiding behind a glass window, what was going on. She told me someone else was currently in the operating room. (That someone should have been me!) I suspect the doctor was on another call at a different hospital, or else my case was not a high priority, so I was placed at the back of the line, such as it was. A short time later, a nurse arrived and escorted me to a crowded room where she asked me repetitive questions about my health history. (I had already answered these questions over the phone the day previous.) For some reason, never explained, they had to take a blood sample once again. (I had done this twice already in the week previous.) Nice people, but they fumbled with the needles finding my vein, and kept trying to make awkward small talk. The nurse and I then had to wait outside the constantly-used bathroom, where the weight scale was located for some unknown reason. Sheer chaos. Instead of then seeing the doctor, they then dumped me back in the Radiology lobby where, guess what, I waited. Por fin, maybe an hour later, the staff takes me away to have the procedure done. I was concerned most about a potentially deadly allergic reaction I have to some types of general anesthetic, malignant hyperthermia (MH) it's called. Let's just say I wasn't 100 percent confident they understood the issue at first, but finally after talking it over with the staff and doctor endlessly, I felt assured that the sedative they were giving me was safe. In my case, they were using a conscious sedative, which lessens pain, but doesn't trigger an MH reaction. The biopsy itself took ten minutes to do. The staff here was brusque, hurried, but professional. Overall, I'll say this. The hospital was good at billing me when I first walked in. They also excelled in paperwork, where I signed innumerable forms saying, in essence, that they were not legally responsible if anything went wrong. Relieve to be out of there, I left the building at 1:30 where a friend picked me up.

I took my older sister who is non-verbal and is disabled and who recently was diagnosed with Lupus two weeks ago to the ER yesterday bc she fell and has a high fever. They took her in immediately and did some blood and urine labs. They started her on Rocephin antibiotics (IV). About 30 minutes later, the nurse came in and told me that She was Covid Positive. Shortly after the IV was done my sister started shivering and shaking uncontrollable. She was also having trouble breathing. They checked her temp and it was 102°. They called the doctor Dr. Mallard (He was amazing and ordered steroids and Benadryl to prevent a possible reaction) they moved my sister to Trauma Room #1 After my sister was able to control her breathing and was calm, a “FEW” nurses (RN’s) in this department treated us terrible. My other sister came in to sit with my older sister so that I can take go home and rest, and she stated that my sister needed to go to the rest room and they did not come in after an hour later to help her. My sister had already peed on the bed so my sister cleaned her up and then changed her. When I went back “RN John” was rude when I asked if I can have an update on my sister’s lab works. He told me that “I had a lot of family asking about my sister who is non verbal” which was a lie bc only my sister who went to relieve me and I were asking questions. While I was waiting for almost 3 hours, no one came in the room to check on my sister even while the machine kept beeping. Then a female nurse who I didn’t get a name said “that’s my sister was ready to be discharged since we were whining” she didn’t even explain the discharge ordered then said she was ready to leave. She got upset when we told her that “It would help if you can do your job and take her IV off” then she did it in an ugly attitude. This hospital “Used” To be very professional, but as today, I will never recommend ANYONE coming here! People come here for medical help and expect to be treated by professionals who love doing their job and not leaving here feeling with an horrible experience.

My overall stay in the labor and delivery ward of the hospital was a pleasant experience. All of the nurses were very helpful and experienced. However, it was nurse Michael and Daphne that went above and beyond everytime. Michael, who wasn’t originally my nurse during labor and delivery, stepped in during my unplanned c-section. Following the procedure he was very attentive and made sure we were listened to it. Daphne was our night nurse in the postpartum recovery ward. She was the sweetest and had the most patience to show me how to burp and care for my baby. She knew how nervous I was as a first time mom and showed the most compassion. She also made sure my husband stayed caffeinated during our stay. I’d like to say my stay here was perfect but my labor and delivery doctor was little to be desired. My OB was unavailable during my scheduled induction so I was assigned Dr. Sundberg. The minute Sundberg walked into the room, he was automatically ready to perform a c section even though those weren’t my wishes at the moment. His approach was unprofessional. He made me feel guilty because i wanted to give my body some more time to progress further in dilation. He started telling me how my baby could experience brain damage if we waited any longer (something he never mentioned earlier) When the nurses tried to convince him to let me still try a vaginal delivery— he insisted that was the one wearing the “MD” on his shirt and he was the boss. He could have easily pulled them aside after they were done checking on me but instead raised and yelled in front of my husband and i. When i was crying and shaking for how nervous i was he questioned why i was crying. His bed side manner was not professional at all and I would not recommend him to deliver your baby. It made it seem like he just wanted to get me in and out so he didn’t have to deal with me and could get home. Edit: Methodist reached out below and provided me a number that was for the wrong location.

Disclaimer: this will most likely be a long post ! I have to share the wonderful yet scary experience I had here at this hospital with the amazing group of women (nurses and drs ) that took care of me while being there ! As a first time mom with lots of anxiety and a little bit of a hypochondriac I had ALOT of questions and concerns! Me never having been admitted to hospital for anything at all I was terrified ! That’s solely based off of hearing other women’s birth stories and things of that nature , anyhow these ladies all helped ease my mind and answer every single one of my questions and worries ! They didn’t make me feel dumb or guilty or uneducated or silly for anything I asked ,they carefully explained everything to me. They were so kind , understanding, helpful , gentle , funny and overall just angels ! It made everything so much easier and made me feel like I was ready to give birth! They took care of me so well while in pre labor I developed a fever and my blood pressure was all over the place they took great care of me prior to delivering during delivery and postpartum as well ! Dr. Van de putte was so patient and walked me through delivery with instructions and respected the fact that I wanted to do it naturally. I wanna give a special shout out and thanks to my nurses who literally did everything in their power to make sure everything went smoothly ! I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart and could never truly repay you but will remember it always ❤️ Jordyn , Nikki , Cynthia , kieonna , Lizbeth , Crystal , Emily & Jenny if I’m forgetting anyone I apologize but you guys have made a great difference in mine and babies life ! May god bless you ! Thank you again !

The only reason I’m giving it three stars is because a African American nurse with short blonde hair treated my sister wonderful and Courtney was amazing .However the staff was very unprofessional inconsistent and I have video and recordings I’m sending to the board of nursing on two particular nurse’s.They kept walking in my sister’s rooms with her belongings not introducing themselves like that could have been anyone with scrub’s on messing around with stuff cross contaminating my nieces area after she was picking up trash off the floor then going to the restroom picking up trash then going and touching the baby area it’s a no for me I’ve only delivered in stone oak and northeast baptist hospital. The Hispanic older registered nurse said that we could come back in the room within an hour and then turned around and said to my mom to wait in the waiting room and then when my mom went to retrieve our stuff and check on my sister she was told only she could have access in Not giving a explanation. I forgot to mention before that she told me I couldn’t be waiting in the hallway remind you were downtown where there’s a lot of homeless people roaming around but yet I am a guest and I cannot wait and hallway make it make sense. New moms expecting please I repeat please go somewhere else if you can you have been warrant the rooms are small the TV is like literally 32 inches and other hospitals are just more pleasant maybe Pay is better but they are not happy to be here and the rules are not up to par. Not to mention the people in the cafeteria I’m not gonna say route necessarily but pretentious and not understanding that I am trying to get the order while my sister was in pain.

My boyfriend needed surgery, so this was our first experience at this hospital and our expectations of the staff and the hospital were met by above and beyond behavior! We were very impressed with the swiftness, cleanliness, attention and care we received by all at Metropolitan. There are a few staff members we would like to specially thank for your amazing care: The front desk staff for pre-op admissions Maria and Tracy - pre-op admissions testing nurses who were phenomenal, even though the weather had delayed our appointment by 10 minutes, they stayed longer to finish everything and were just as pleasant as could be. The young man who walked us to the surgery waiting area. Rhonda, the pre-op nurse who was attentive and very pleasant Amy and Sonia, the wheel back surgery nurses who were hilarious and so accommodating! They helped us stop the buzzy noise in our room which happened to be a stuck keyboard key. THANK YOU! The sweet blondish post-op nurse who stayed with him during recovery I cannot remember her name but she was the sweetest girl ever! Irma and Maribell, our post-op recovery ladies who made it so enjoyable! The OJ and crackers really helped to get him "going" And a HUGE thank you to Dr. Ferrar and the Anesthesiologist for your exceptional care and love in the OR!! To all of you at Metropolitan: Thank you for going above and beyond and just being good humans! We thank you so much for the awesome experience and we hope to never need your services again, but if we do, we know who to trust with our care!! Thank you Light and Love to you ALL, J. Brent Mansfield and Kristen Lister

I would have given a five, but had one big incident and one little one. I take 2 very important medication for my epilepsy. When I was admitted, my brother, whose my guardian, presented my list of medication. That night they gave me what I thought was my evening medication. The next day I was given my medication. In the evening I sad I'm missing my lacosamide 200 mg. My nures said you don't get one it's not ordered. Why because it's order for once a day. He wanted to call a Dr to see how he could change my medication. I said no, call someone , anyone, so I can get my medication so I don't start having seizures. 5 hours later I had no medication. I call for a director of nursing. The nurse and an other nurse came into my room try to intimidate me. I was going to leave so I could go take my medication, as I could feel my seizure coming on. As soon as I sad that, Miraculously they somehow were able to give me my medication after 5 hours. I did file an official complaint with director of nursing. Next I'm incontinent, so they put a purwick, but it was not right. I was in a puddle of pee all night along, no one had the time to change me. I was not allowed to get up by myself. Day after release I started to get a rash on my buttock. I find this strange as I have always been given excellent care at your hospital. Changing me, I was not going to die. Okay. But denied my epilepsy medicine, that was totally unprofessional. When dealing with a life or death situation. Thank you.

First off, the nurses that tended to my mother were all very compassionate and supportive. Kudos to all the nurses from triage on up. Now, when we talk about “Dr.” Desiree Papas, yes that is her last name, well that’s a whole different story. She was nice at first but throughout the duration of my mom’s treatment, she became cold and dismissive. My mom stayed 3 days and Ms. Papas trotted in saying, “I have good news, you get to go home.” The nurse tending to my mom looked at my mom and my mother looked back at the nurse. My mom said, “What do you mean? I still feel really sick. Can’t I stay just one more day?” Pappas replied, so you don’t want to go home? You’re telling me that you would deprive someone of that bed? There isn’t anything you can’t do for yourself that we are doing for you here.” Well my mom was discharged against her wishes. Mind you, my mom was diagnosed with diverticulitis, a pinpoint perforation on her bowel, low o2 levels, E. Coli and possibly c. diff (which she was never tested for and is contagious). Fast forward, my mom is now in your sister hospital, Methodist Hospital Atascosa. Her perforation has grown from pinpoint to 4mm, she tested positive for c. diff, and her infection has gotten worse. So good job, no excellent job “Dr.” Pappas! Way to hold up to the oath you took as a medical doctor! Pray that my mother doesn’t die from your stupidity and lack of compassion! She is in sepsis because of you. Idk how you sleep with yourself at night.

I preregistered online to the hospital knowing I was going to be delivering there, however when I went in they didn’t have any of my information or file ready so I had to fill out paperwork in the lobby… while I was in active labor with strong contractions (my water broke, I lost my mucus plug & had the bloody show so I was definitely ready & hoping to get admitted immediately). Even after I filled out the paperwork they had me wait in the lobby because all the rooms were full, again this was all while I was in active labor having intense contractions which was even more uncomfortable since all of this was happening in a public waiting room full of strangers watching me in pain. Once I was finally moved to a room the first nurse who tended to me was so rude & had absolutely no bedside manner, her name was Blanca. The comments she made to me were so unprofessional, she couldn’t even give me the iv herself (she tried 4 times until she finally called another nurse for help), when checking my cervix she was so rough I cried, I took the nurses baskets of goodies to say thank you & she called it me bribing them, if I asked her a question she either ignored me completely and didn’t answer at all or she answered as if I was annoying her, absolute worse nurse I’ve ever come across. Thankfully every nurse after her was so amazing and kind, they somewhat turned my experience around and that’s the only reason I’m giving the hospital 2 stars.

Procedure went off without a hitch. The rest of my experience went down hill from there. The nurse that prepped me was pretty rough because he was rushing to be ready for the doctor. He attempted to insert an iv and he couldn’t secure the vein so he left as I was bleeding out. I was done at 10:30 am and didn’t get into a room until 6:30 pm. Way too long a wait! After I inquired I was told two emergencies had come in and taken the rooms available. I was only made aware after I asked. After I got situated in a room the overnight RN came on duty. I was concerned because she kept coughing. In the morning Ms. Margaret (RN) came in and was very kind and compassionate. I had conflict with the dietary staff because they couldn’t explain why certain food items were not on the cardiac diet. I told I couldn’t have a vegetarian omelette but I could have scrambled eggs; the difference? It was also complicated by the fact that follow a low carb diet for diabetes. I was disappointed that staff weren’t able to articulate more informed answers. And then common courtesy is not regularly practiced by most of your professional staff. Very disappointing! This was my second visit in two months to complete my procedure. It took eight hours to get discharged after being informed by my physician that I was good to go. I’m glad I’m done. I will never return to this facility! I do have to give kudos to Jayson(RN) and Joseph (PCA); best guys ever!

The security surrounded us in the Cafeteria. My Step child has been in the Hospital 10 days she finally was able to fully move around we thought it would be great to go eat, we took her to the Cafeteria to get some food and wasn't aware that we needed a nurse to be with us, so security was called and surrounded us while hands on the tasers..WHY? Maybe because we were of the darker persuasion. I've never seen anything like it in person, the security guy in charge was argumentative so much that a nurse asked him " Why are you escalating the situation"?. Be very careful when going to this hospital security has real bad attitude problem. They don't understand that no one had informed us our daughter couldn't go to the Cafeteria we left when asked with no problem until security became threatening for no apparent reason we can only speculate why they bum rushed us...Black folk please beware, please go elsewhere. We could only assume it was because we were black..It was unnecessary and embarrassing....Reminded me of segregation as if we knew we shouldn't have been there but we're going against the grain it felt like old times and old days... We were almost in fear of our lives, it was unreal...Even when my Step daughters nurse arrived we still were escorted to her room while security talked smacked to us..again Why? I DONT KNOW since we were told she just needed a nurse to be with her.. It was traumatic and embarrassing...

My son was admitted on Tuesday of last week. Was kept in the ER examination room until Friday at 1 am , he was finally moved to a room at 130 am friday.. Was told he possibly had two different things. But the could not tell because of the swelling. Was seen by a doctor ,surgeon in Tuesday. They wanted to move him into the hallway, to make room for someone else.Mind you he was admitted to the hospital they kept telling us he was getting moved into a room since Tuesday night.. Told by a nurse he needed surgery Friday morning after looking at his chart. That is not a nurse's responsibility Finally moved to a room Friday morning after 1 am only to be released at 5pm. Was not seen by the doctor , not given a diagnosis. Was only given liquids on friday. Apparently they were instructed he should have started a bland diet and liquids a few days before. But failed to order any meals or give him liquids. Eventhough we both asked several times. He was never given a diagnosis or information regarding what the issue was. He found his diagnosis online. I am extremely disappointed, it was clear to me that patient care is not a top priority here. I will be reaching out to my insurance company and filing a complaint regarding the lack of care. And requesting an itemized bill.I am sure they will try to bill for services not rendered. Worst experience so far.

I was just discharged from this hospital about 30 minutes ago. I had to write this review as soon as I got home. I was admitted to the 4th floor on Sunday 09/24/2023 around 8:30 PM. First off I have to say, if I was reviewing the nursing. Lab staff, ultrasound tech, nuclear medicine, and housekeeping staff alone, I would have gone more than 5 stars! Ashlie and Ashley (one AM and one PM), Lorena, Santiago, Melissa and Rosa from housekeeping, thank you for making an uncomfortable situation more bearable. Your empathy and caring were evident in everything you did for me. It’ is the care from the cardiologist that concerns me. I had all the tests done and never ONCE saw the cardiologist! No results, no resolution. I spent 2 nights and 3 days in that hospital for posible cardiac issues with no contact from the cardiologist! After I mentioned these concerns to my nurse she called the doc and was given orders to discharge me and have me follow with her in two weeks! Follow up from what? My blood pressure issues were not resolved and I can’t even tell why I was even in The hospital! I only hope nothing takes a turn for the worse before I seek medical care from a real doctor that is NOT Dr. Azarbar, Cardiologist! I will be filing a complaint with my insurance company and any other appropriate entities.

I applied for tray-line had an interview. Got there on time told management soon as I got there to be exact I told a man name “sal” I was there to meet with a lady name jessica. set down waited for 30 minutes. In the meantime, I called the agency that set up the interview and asked did they need to reschedule cause I’ve been waiting & no one has gotten to me. Agency called me back after reaching out to them and Jessica told an bold face lie and said I never told no one I arrived perhaps I told several people I was waiting for “Jessica” . Jessica 10:30 interviews gets there she flys out the kitchen so finally I did the interview her attitude was very negative. Feel my race played a part considering I was the only colored person. 10 minutes after leaving the interview I receive a call & say I’m not selected after I was told she has several more interviews and several positions available.I’ve done did this same position I applied for previously before and at the finest of finest hospitals. I’m an very hard over achiever worker but to them my color determines to them I’m not. I don’t know if this just a kitchen thing but it’s highly disturbing to choose people by their races.Maybe I could’ve cleaned the kitchen up more decent for them cause 0/10

I had to bring my Dad to the emergency room and while I was waiting for the Doctors to run some test on my Dad I was in the waiting room where I witnessed the most horrible service from the person in charge of the check in. Mind you this is the emergency room!!!! I understand people and be grumpy and mean when they are in pain but the people that I witness go to the check in station and ask questions to this individual were not rude. They had normal questions about how long will it be for them to get seen. This rude person will talk to this people with arrogance, attitude and frustration! He had no empathy for anyone at all. People come to a hospital seeking for medical attention. Some people should really not go into the medical field if they are not willing to feel empathy for others. I witness an old man stated he was blinded and could not see and this man was still questioning him about his SSN!!! HIPAA violation!!! A female coughing her lungs out and she stated multiple times that the man in the front was arrogant. This place was really good and I remember the staff would really care about the people. It just sucks to see all this people in pain and no one have any empathy for them.

I was just released from ICU 4/27/23 and wanted to let you know while details were fresh. I was transferred to the 10th floor ICU by helicopter. My day nurse, Michelle and evening nurse Bree were remarkable!!! Probably the best I have ever had! I could not have asked for better care. 2 days later on 4/26/23 I was transferred to the 9th floor ICU. Again my day nurse, Lilly, traveling nurse and Faith, traveling nurse were phenomenal. I want these 4 ladies to be commended for their outstanding patient care. Unfortunately, on another note. 4/26 I asked for a Tylenol with an excruciating headache, it took 4.5 hours to get one. I was told there were other sick patients. I responded that the bed I was in was quite expensive and how long would it take to get a Tylenol! Especially since there was a 2:2 nurse/patient ratio. The nurse training Faith on the night shift did something unethical which makes me wonder what other corners she cuts. Faith noted that my nighttime meds were late on the computer by a good 30-40 mins. Her trainer told her to just override the time and put in the exact time scheduled. What else does she do?

I was admitted to the ER because I was critically low on white and red blood cells. About 18 hours into my stay I was moved from “D” to a room around the corner to an overflow area. It took the nurse an hour and a half to come check on me. At one point I had to go to the bathroom which was a potty chair with a folding curtain, and there was no toilet paper so I sat for over an hour just hoping someone would come check on me. In my room there was dust everywhere. I asked repeatedly for food, and even when the trays came I was forgotten about. There was no nurse’s call or anyway to contact the nurse or request help. I asked for the patient advocate and instead of resolving the issues I was told I was leaving AMA. I asked my nurse to change her gloves since there was nowhere to wash her hands and she was removing my power port access. I was also denied a Lyft home since I supposedly left AMA. I was not cared for once back in that storage area, and I believe I was ignored purposefully because the nurse didn’t want to mess with my power port. I left because of sheer incompetence on every level of my stay.

Last night my father was in a tremendous amount of pain so I took him to your hospital in hopes you would help relieve him of his pain. After 6 hours of waiting, Dr. Monica Lee helped my dad with pain medication but not before she felt the need to lecture me about how I was rude to her staff and that she had already communicated to me and my father the plan 3 hours ago. So I would like to publicly apologize to Dr. Lee and her staff last night. I'm sorry if I was rude when I knocked on your window and practically begged you to help my father. I'm sorry if I was rude after watching my father sit in pain for 5 1/2 hours in a waiting room chair and pleaded with you for an update, or timetable of when we will be helped. I'm sorry if I was rude when I explained to you that my father who had a tumor the size of a softball removed from his back and ribs, has cancer spreading in his body and had a constant pain level of 9, needed your help. I'm sorry for showing the same lack of empathy you showed my father. Worst experience ever!!

  • Valerie Trinidad

I had a horrible experience! The nurse at the front when you check in was extremely rude, not just to me but to many others as well. The nurses doing my vitals were the best part of the whole visit. One of them was a training nurse and he was so kind as well as the nurse training him. I wish I would have gotten their names. I sat in pain in the waiting room for 5 hours because they “forgot to assign a doctor to my case”. This came from one of the nurses in the back. My daughter had tried to follow up a couple of times but the rude nurse at the front just kept saying we will be with her as soon as we can. The doctor came to say he had just got in and would look at the chart. The nurse came back with some meds and discharge paperwork but no explanation as to what was going on. When my daughter started to question her she called the charge nurse who was just as rude as the front desk nurse (makes sense why everyone is rude). I left there with no explanation and a follow up to call my doctor.

Terrible experience. I went in with back pain and was invalidated in so many ways. From the first interaction I dealt with lack of professionalism from labor and delivery staff. I heard all of the gossip from the triage nurse and her feelings towards one of the doctors. I heard her threats regarding shifts and personal opinions on one of the doctors (Dr. Van De Putte, - congrats on your new vehicle, your triage nurse made some real concerning threats btw). All while I was in pain crying. When I was seen by a delivery nurse - not the doctor. I was told “basically don’t come here unless your baby is hanging out”. My pain was overlooked, I was treated poorly and without respect. The nurse taking care of me looked at me after and said “if you feel like you need to come, come. We know our bodies best”. That was the only kind experience I had the entire visit. Terrible experience overall. Had they checked my UA they would have known I had a kidney infection while 7 months pregnant.

  • Lori Spangler

It was horrible!! My husband has a terminal illness and it's end stage so he was taken by ambulance to this hospital. To make a long story a little shorter, he ended up on a bed in the hallway with three other people . They had to do and in and out catheter to collect urine but they never sent it to the lab. They through it away. My husband was out in the hall with no call light and the nurses were talking to other patients. They told us it could take 2 days to get into a room. I guess that goes only for some people because one of the nurses was talking to a veteran patient and she said that his money was important and the others is not. Yes, my husband is on Medicaid because he is disabled but it shouldn't matter. ALL LIVES MATTER!!!! This is aweful. I don't ever want to go to the ER at Metropolitan Methodist again!! The last time my husband was in the hospital there, it was wonderful. He was in icu and everyone was wonderful but tgat ER needs work.

My procedure went without a hitch. During my admitting process, Patricia, Carissa and Joseph did such a great job getting me admitted in a very timely and efficient manner. They really need to be recognized more for doing such an amazing job and communicating with patients and processing very efficiently and friendly.. The GI department and recovery phase was very comforting and I felt very well taken care of and looked after. Lourdes and Beatrice did an amazing job getting me ready for my procedure, checking in on me,, making sure i was comfortable,. answering all my questions and providing me with exceptional care before and during the procedure. I was made to feel comfortable and well taken care of. On the recovery side, the recovery team with Ken and Madeline, they did an exceptional job making sure I understood my discharge instructions and attended to my needs effortlessly. The hospital's staff in general is very friendly and welcoming.

I had surgery here and I was so incredibly nervous and anxious. But care team completely eased my fears and from start to finish were amazing. Everyone was so kind and accommodating. They clued me in along the whole process and helped me with whatever I needed. One of my male nurses even stayed with me to hold my hand when I was especially groggy and fearful coming out of anesthesia just because I asked him too. My nurses on my floor where I had to stay overnight checked on me around the clock, bringing me ice packs and food trays, and more pain medication when I needed it. They even assisted my husband with finding a bed so he could stay with me overnight. Literally every single nurse/medical professional I interacted with was beyond lovely. My visit at metropolitan has been the best visit to a hospital in my entire life, and I’m so grateful for them for making something so scary into something doable for me. Thank you guys!

Delivered my second child here on June 3rd, my experience was beautiful from the moment of checking in to the moment of getting discharged! This is why I came back, the staff and doctors are fantastic. They truly care about their patients. I have to give a shout out to Neely in Labor and Delivery, she was absolutely AMAZING!! She stuck by my side and truly made me feel like I was her only patient. She was so sweet, personable, and super positive!! She is also very knowledgeable!! AND, very considerate, she made sure my request were followed. Thank you Neely!! Also, Yvonne is postpartum was excellent, she took her time with us explaining things about our baby and just really made our experience even better. Great team!! Only down fall was the medical student trying to pop my water bag, she couldn’t tell what she was doing! But I get she has to learn, be sure to read the consent forms because wit does mention medical students.

I felt like I had gone back to the 70's or 80's with the way my room appeared. The paint was peeling, gouges in the walls. The color was an awful green. I moved here from California, but it is hard to believe that California is that far advanced in the care in the hospital setting from Texas. Yes, it was that bad. However the care from the nursing staff is not to be included in this, but the Doctors in charge of the medication's need to take a course of knowing what is going on with the patient. I have never been through anything like that before. And no one wanting to take responsibility for it. I have chronic pain, and have a regimen of medication that I take on a daily, then you add surgery on top of this, and there are no pain meds to be given? And the poor nurses can't get ahold of any one to approve additional medication? As I. Said the nurses did what they could, the Doctors on the other hand couldn't be found.

I am truly upset with this hospital. My mother is 97 years old and was in the hospital because of a UTI which in older people causes delirium. Arrangements were being made for 2 weeks physical therapy upon her release. I was at the rehab signing papers when I got a call from the rehab telling me my mother was there. The hospital never contacted me to even say she was being transported. The daytime CNAs never checked my mother, never changed my mother, never bathed my mother or brushed her teeth. I had to request it. There was a CNA that worked nights that came right in checking my mother, changing her and doing what was necessary. She said she checks my mother three times every night and she expected the day shift to do the same. I told her they didn’t. All of the nurses were great. My mother arrived at the rehab scared and confused. She didn’t know why she was being moved and where they were taking her.

I just had my 1st granddaughter and as delighted as my son is, it is also sad to me to know how my son is being made to feel like he is just a sperm donor or like he doesn’t matter, ….they just bypass him including the doctor. Is it because he’s Black and the mother is Hispanic- surely this Can’t Be !!! My son is a very highly intelligent man, a teddy bear of a father, this Methodist Hospital downtown is making life disheartening- especially since we are of the Methodist faith for the oldest Black Methodist church here in San Antonio whose family goes back 157 years! Why is this hospital treating my son like he is less than a man?!! He was treated MUCH BETTER at the Stone Oak Methodist- so is treatment based on location or race??? My husband & I are senior citizens- I hope we don’t have to rely on this location for treatment if this is what we have to look forward to- cause I won’t take it well!!

  • Julie Torres

I had to spend one night here…. My night nurse bedside manners were horrible…she even ignored me when I walked up to the nurses station to ask for help because the patient in the same room had a bowel movement and after they changed her, they put her soiled clothing in the basket on my side of the room the whole room smelled while waiting at the nurse station to get attention the solution they came up with was to spray the room with some type of deodorizer Thankfully Janey and nurse leader Sonya stepped in to take over… I am still in here but I definitely dont feel safe or trust in the hospital right now !!!! I Would Never Bring Anyone I love or care about here. P.S they judge you here if you are on any mental health conditions and take medication for it. Hope this helps when u have a choice of hospitals to go to.I forgot to even say why I was even here it was for a kidney stone surgery.

  • Debi Carranza

Very rude man handling intake in the ER right now. There was a man sitting in the ER by himself looking like he was going to pass out. I notified the person at the front desk and he was so rude in his response. I finally had to Flag down someone else to see if they could help him. Shortly after that another lady was throwing up all over herself and notified him of that. Again more attitude. I ask a few staff member what his name was. Apparently staff does not know each other's name. Geez! I have been to pretty much all of the hospitals here in SA. I am sorry to say this place has the worst customer service. When people are feeling their worst you do not need to deal with this. So sad that senior management allows staff to treat patients this way. What is so sad is I was here 2 months ago and had a great experience. That is why I brought my husband here today.

  • Damien Bunting

My experience was wonderful minus a few mishaps which I’ll explain, but I still feel they deserve five stars as mistakes happen and didn’t affect my health too much. The staff were attentive, caring, kind, listened, and tolerated me as I’m not the best patient while under medication. Do not mistake kindness for weakness they deserve praise. 1. I was informed I should have been sent home with a compression garment after hernia repair. Easy fix was to buy one, but the problem of being without one for a week is meh. 2. I left the hospital without my ID holder which happened to also have my retiree ID. I’m not sure of the cause for it not to have been on me, but my discharge nurse called me and waited outside with it. Unfortunately I can’t remember her name but I remember her kind face and the fact she called. That deserves a well placed Thank You.

What Can I say about metropolitan hospital let’s start with compassionate healthcare they have none! I was there for 33 days of hell! Would not come to my room when nurse call button was pushed would wait 30 minutes to 2hours almost had a bowel movement in bed could not get to me in timely matter no pain management was in extreme pain with staph infection in my testicular area finally moved me to another hospital was treated for 11 days 3 surgeries skin graphs this new hospital treated me like I was a human Great service great nurses so I know the difference! Thank goodness they moved me to another facility before they killed me! They had me tied to my bed for 8 days after they pulled me out of comma! What a nightmare 33 days of hell I will be making a formal complaint to hospital administrators also the food sucks!

  • Margaret Stennett

Went to them for chest pains today and the staff at first was nice, took care of me until I got admitted then they moved me to a room in the er to hold me till they could get a room, chest pain came back while still in the er has to get out of bed to find the call light for the nurse because they didn't put it near me, after 20 minutes the securityguard came by and asked if I was alright told him I was having chest pain againso he went to get someone that never came. Then the charge nurse comes by about 10 minutes later and I tell her she them decides to hook me up to the machines then goes to see what they can give and she comes back and tells me only thing they can give is Tylenol. I said no nitro. She said no just Tylenol so I said forget it I will go home and take my own nitro. Never again will I go there.

  • Judith De Quevedo

I had surgery in December 2022 and I had the best care team ever. My surgeon Dr. Joel Rodriguez was amazing and caring. My other doctors were also very kind and attentive. All the nurses were super caring and truly compassionate. I had a great great care team, they never made me feel uncomfortable and always maintained my pain well managed as best as they could. Everyone was really nice. They allowed my family member to stay with me and even found a guest bed to stay in with me in my room. My surgery has been life changing and completely worth it. Going in to the OR was not scary at all, they kept me calm and gave me support and reassured me. Their whole team worked fast and efficiently. This was the first time I was ever hospitalized and I was terrified at first but in all honesty it wasn't bad at all.

  • Cici Cerda

First I had another patient curse me out while in the waiting room. After I reported it the guy pulled out a knife on someone and put the hospital under lock down. Definitely a scary experience while being ill. Then got pulled to the back for a not so great experience. I've been really disappointed by towards Healthcare. Most nurses have been great but these doctors are so condescending, incompetent and for lack of a better word rude. While trying to explain what I'm feeling I've had doctors roll their eyes, smirk, or even laugh. Most have blamed it on stress or aniexty. This visit definitely did bring on some aniexty after having my life threatened while waiting. I've recieved so many misdiagnosis and even when they see things as not normal they have no answers. US Healthcare is failing...

  • Jackie Pinder

I would like to thank ALL THE STAFF IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM!!!!!! I was brought in as a victim of domestic violence. I was kept safe and secure until my family could get to me from Maryland where I was taken from. Unfortunately I was ED because I cut my wrist to get away from my abuser. Everyone in the ER took care of me as if I was their own family member. I would like to give a special thanks to Ariana and Kristen not only did they take care of me but they also kept my family up to date on everything that was happening to me and what care I was receiving. Both of these young women choose the right job to pursue they have the hearts as big as Texas. Thank you all again from the bottom of mine and my family’s heart.

This will be the last time I take any of my loved ones to this horrible facility. Today has been a week that my father passed. He was inpatient for almost a month. The nurses only came around when they did rounds, I never saw a hospitalist not once the entire time I would visit. Staff never returned my calls. A few days before my dad died I told the nurses my dad was having some abnormal issues and no one cared to pay attention until it goes south every one pays attention. Every time I asked for an update the nurses did not know what was going on. Excuses that this was their first time with the patient. When he coded they were missing stuff from the crash cart. Worst place ever.

  • Linette Lopez-Claudio

I had gastric sleeve surgery on May 5,2021. There aren’t enough words to express how thankful I am for the entire staff at the hospital. From the time that I was being prepped to go into surgery, to when I woke up at recovery and then transferred to a room. All the nurses, lab techs, surgeon, anesthesiologist, everyone was so great to me. My pain medication was always given to me on time, my vitals were checked constantly and there was always someone asking me about how I felt. My stay at the hospital was very pleasant. I would like to thank everyone for always having a positive attitude, not one staff member looked like they didn’t enjoy their job. Best staff ever!!

  • Chela Cortez Sanchez

Was very disappointed as to how and where I was treated when I first arrived to er. They took me to X-rays and then put me in an er bed im an examination room for the night. Nurses had a hard time inserting needle in my veins and bruised my whole arm causing me pain making it hard for me to get a good nights rest cause of where I was put for the night and how I was treated with a broken knee cap and bruised left wrist. Next morning they wheeled me out to hallway and left me there with my pain for all day until they could get a room for me which was totally unbearable and unprofessional for the hospital to hsve patients in their beds in middle of hallway

  • Juanita Valdez

Great staff, worked well together to get me through each part of the process. I do the same thing for a living, but for animals. I understand the difficulties of the job. Special shout out to LeeAnn, and Yvonne for getting my labs done, David Lead RN made sure I was comfortable while waiting to get put into prep, Margaret ❤️, and Anna ❤️ for getting me all ready for surgery, Luis and the anesthesia staff for making sure I was safe under anesthesia, Rose ♥️ recovery nurse did a great job getting me discharged and entertained while I waited, and Irma sweet and compassionate nurse kept me in check. From start to finish this amazing staff did a great job.

  • Texas Tough

I'm here right now and I love the way everyone is willing to help. This is the best hospital I have ever been to. I hope I never need to be admitted to a hospital again but if I do I'm coming here. I got seen within 25mins of me arriving here. I forgot my phone charger and I was given one. My wife and kids were leaving to go home and it started to rain bad and they watched my kids while she got the car and they even helped load them in the rain. Wish I would have got the names of all the people here. The 7th floor workers are the best. Everyone is always checking on me and asking me if I need anything. So helpful and polite.

  • Anabel Regalado

Came in to the ER for abdominal pain. I didn't sit for 1 second and the ER team took me in right away! I did stay for 5 days and I want to mention that EVERYONE from Day 1 were very nice and professional. My nurses Marcos and Jocelyn and PCA Dionne went above and beyond while they took care of me. My doctors Dr. Saenz and Dr. Al Salihi and their awesome team explained everything to me very well about my surgeries. Thank you everyone for doing what you do and making sure your patients are well cared for. Even after my discharge 4 days later, I am able to get ahold of anyone when I needed questions answered.

  • Christie Ethington

This hospital has taken the best care of my brother that of any hospital in the San Antonio area. When I called and talk to the nurses about how he was doing they were always friendly and nice and explained to me how he was doing and what his status was. However we can’t always predict how our love ones will be when they have some serious health issues going on, however my brother tends to check himself out AMA, and that’s what he did today again. We all hope for the best of our love ones and I’m glad that there’s a hospital and nursing staff to take care of sick patients. I thank you all for all you did .

  • Rodena Sagna

Rude and unprofessional staff in the ER. Filthy, staff violated privacy laws by yelling patient‘s full name throughout the triage area. The patient was very upset and then mocked by the nurse that did it. One of my triage nurses basically accused me of faking. I’m here for a chronic condition. The best personnel was the phlebotomist & lab tech. They can both do better than this place. Further more there was trash everywhere, the bathroom where i gave my urine sample was DISGUSTING!!!! Trash on all the floors, to include syringe caps, gloves , snack wrappers. Completely unsanitary! Terrible

  • Anna Hunter

All of the nurses, doctors and anesthesiologists were amazing during my stay here. I had to have an unexpected c-section and Dr. Sunberg was incredible at easing my mind about the surgery and about executing it. They all took very good care of myself and my newborn after delivery and I had full confidence that my baby was well looked after for the duration of our stay. Very comfortable (for being in the hospital) and the lactation nurses were extremely informative and helpful. I would recommend this facility to any pregnant woman for a safe and comfortable labor and delivery.

  • Justin Gloria

Would not recommend to anyone at all . The nurses and pca neglect their patient. The nurses say nasty things , the pca seem more concerned about gossiping than doing their actual job. Overheard a nurse talking ugly to a housekeeper , that same housekeeper cleaned my room and I could tell she seemed upset. Apparently the nurses and pca don't like cleaning after patients when they have accidents, or throw up. Guess they expect the housekeepers to do it , overall just a bad experience. The housekeepers where the only ones who were nice to us. It was on the 7th or 6 floor btw.

  • Joann Perez

Very professional hospital nurses were very professional and cared about my health Anthony W MD Jones was a very professional Doctor Who cared about my health who spoke to me about all the testing that was done, bloodwork, chest, x-rays, and talk to me about my heart also spoke to me about medication‘s that were going to be given to me for my dizziness. Every question. I asked he gave me an answer. He made me feel very comfortable and the staff at the hospital as well. This is a very good hospital I highly recommend it to everybody. Thank you so much and God bless you.

  • Krystle Ann

My daughter was sent over this evening to be admitted for labor after sitting in her ob office for 2 and a half hours, she gets to the hospital at 7:00 pm and it’s now 11:21 pm and she is still in the dam waiting room. She was already dilated to 3 centimeter when they sent her there. I think that’s very long for a woman to sit there in labor waiting for a room. Lots of worries for her right now. She should have been admitted in a timely manner. There are other girls there as well waiting just like her. No reason for that long of a wait. Get it together Metropolitan.

  • Emmanuel Lozano

The nurses and doctors were very nice and respectful. They were just never around, anytime I needed an update I would have to call them to the room. After I pressed the call button I would take them more than 5 min. to answer. I was admitted for almost 3 days, it got to the point I would unplug the monitors my self just to go to the restroom since nurses would take so long to answer. No one ever asked if i need a meal. The first day i was there, I was never brought any food ALL day. After that the next day I had to ask for a meal if not nothing was brought to me.

  • Momma and the three bears Xoxoxoxo

Uncomfortable beds, low staffed and disgusting food the dr that came to see me at the end was so bad he discharged me and didn't put the order in til 2 hours later and the staff didn't want to bother him. Most staff were good at their jobs but I asked for water multiple times and felt like a bill collector having to constant remind them to pls bring me some. The only great person there was the custodian. She was amazing friendly. I had my three babies here and this used to be my fav hospital but WOW ITS GONE SO DOWNHILL I'm embarrassed to say it once was my fav

  • Alma Moreno

Waited a day in a half for a bed . No communication from doctor once moved to the floor. Lack of patient urgency. Have had no information as far as to the results of mri and still waiting. The iv was left on way to long after not being used causing a skin tear. Spoke to charge Nurse Bre at 5:15 about concerns we had and said she would get in contact with hospital Dr. Pappas….once again lack of urgency, tried again at 6:30 and still waiting for call. Nurse is a month new and is still trying to figure out how things work. Definitely not a great experience.

  • BNS

From the moment I got there the labor and delivery nurses were amazing. Astrid, the nurse who triaged me, got me to the back and got the ball rolling fast she went out of her way to make sure the anesthesiologist gave me my epidural before he got held up in a C Section (I was already 5 cm dilated) my experience and stay at this hospital was the absolute best. You can tell the nurses and staff love what they do because it showed in how they cared for me and my family. Astrid, Lauren, Sherika, Connie, Stephanie thanks so much

  • Anna Guadarrama

I have been here for 4days. So far I have not been treated popularly. First they take flor ever to come to u when call the call button. Everytime u call they take about an hour. Before they come to u. Second they tell u things in the last minute or don't tell u anything on whats going on. I know there's other patients. But this has been ridiculous. Been very angry and frustrated these last 4 days. I tell u one thing. I will not recommend this hospital to my friends or family. The staff here has to be more prepared and organized. Thank you.

  • CeCelia Van Eck

I was transferred here from another hospital ER. The staff have all been so friendly and caring. They come quickly if I need something and are very attentive. The food on the menu is really good and they make sure to call me to ask if I’m hungry and would like them to bring something up to me. This has been the best experience and I will be forever grateful. They took all the fear out of this experience and have turned in into a positive. I have received such amazing care, and if I could give them extra stars, I totally would!

  • Abby E

Sooo unprofessional!!!! Had to have my brother transferred out!!! Which they made sure to make the most difficult process, the dr even told my mom to find a dr who would see him as if it’s my moms job. The WORST care! No empathy from the nurse leader, pride was written over her face. Filthy filthy inside and out! It seemed they made my brothers issue worse to watch him die. No communication between nurses and dr’s. No one knew what was going on. Would not recommend to ANYONE!!!! It’s a good hospital to die at! Try University.

  • Fidencio Castillo

Emergency Room staff was pretty good. / My Dr. and nurse were amazing and attentive. // My wife however did not receive the needed care from her doctor and we are having to return to the hospital for a second opinion. She still has major pain which I feel would have been minimize had the Emg room doctor addressed her injury more thoroughly and laid her on a bed versus keeping her on a hard chair while complaining of back and neck pain. VERY upset about this type of care - We were involved in a major car wreck. //

  • Mary Lou Rendon

My experience at Metropolitan Hospital was great. I have a phobia with needles, so on surgery day I was extremely anxious and scared, but the nurses were extremely patient and gave me something so that I would not feel the IV needle. They talked me through everything and put me at ease. The recovery nurse was also excellent, I didn't wake up with anything over my face, so no anxiety during my wake-up. I had no nausea. I was offered something to drink along with cookies. I definitely recommend this Hospital.

  • g smith

Once inside the hospital things went super well with caring and friendly staff. The only hiccup was that I was told to go in the ER entrance and that surgery entrance was by it; and that parking was across the street. Parking was beyond the entrance in a parking deck, not across the street, and registration wasn't inside the ER entrance. A nice helpful ER registration person led us from the ER across the narrow road to the surgery check-in desk in another building. After that things went smoothly and well.

  • Laura Rodriguez

The team they have are phenomenal I can’t explain how great they took care of me. From the moment I walked in until the day I was out of the hospital. Kellie from preop surgical the best nurse I’ve ever had super sweet and caring. Also I want to give a huge shout out to the nurses in floor 5 they were the best made me feel comfortable at all times they would check on me constantly and I really appreciate that so much. Everyone was super great thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️ I felt so hospitable in this hospital.

  • Christine Breedlove-Schmitz

The after-surgery care was fantastic. I had a two-night sleepover and felt my needs were met every step of the way. My nurses, Victoria, Paulina, and Avery, were very personable and attentive, and I could not be more satisfied with my care. The other departments' staff were terrific, but unfortunately, I did not get names. It was sweet that the ladies that had to take my vitals in the middle of the night always apologized for waking me up (and were very sincere about it), even though I was already awake.

  • Kay Cooper

I was terrified going in, I do not like hospitals at all, but this was the best experience I could ever have ever had. The nurses were so sweet and kind and helpful. I rarely waited even a minute and their were tons of other patients. That heard me and truly listened when I was hurting. I was suppose to go home with a booklet with everyone that took care of me but sadly I didn’t see it. I would love to name them all that helped. It was a wonderful experience were I felt safe to be and ready to go.

  • Samantha Martinez

The worst hospital treatment I’ve ever experienced… none of the workers here have compassion and a nurse told me I was wasting their resources. They’re unprofessional and should not be in the medical field. The nurses will play a game and basically argue with each other on who to take care of a patient just because they are hard to deal with. The staff here can’t get their story straight, and no one cleans properly here. We have not used this shower at all yet, it looks as if it was not cleaned.

  • MissRhi B.

Dr. Nmah is THE BEST! All the nurses and PCAs were also wonderful. The additional staff was kind and helpful as well. I give 4 v. 5 stars only because of the delayed response time. It would be 20-30min after hitting the nurse button to get some aid. I often had to push it a few times. It was not a lack of concern. I believe the nurses had too many patients spread around the floor v all together. The care is here. The response time is a bit slow which wasn’t very secure feeling.

  • Carl Short

The nursing staff was great, but you always have that one two that probably should of stayed at home instead of working. The physical therapy instructors were the best. I learned a lot of things from them that I did not know before. I did not like that when I went to another doctor after my stay that I was labeled as a "troublemaker". I do not think that should be part of my hospital records that gets shared. When I see something wrong I speak my peace, that is me.

  • Angelina Gonzalez

my pregnant sister went in the other day and was not attended correctly . the nurses and staff were very rude and rolling their eyes at my sister . they were telling everyone that she had covid and making her feel uncomfortable. my sister is super close to her due date and was just trying to make sure her baby and her were okay since she had been in pain all day. staff should be nicer to people who go in just trying to get help and not be rolling their eyes .

  • McNeilly Hays

The nurses were amazing- great at explaining what was happening and walking me through the ER process. The physician gave a very half-hearted patient interview and physical exam then threw the kitchen sink at me for testing. My bill came back super inflated because of the unnecessary testing and general inflation of the ER costs. I'm currently working with a patient advocacy group to get the charges decreased, but have been pretty disappointed in Methodist.

  • Charlotte Bell

Day staff was great, on cardiac floor. Night staff need some training., my leads came off they never came to see if I was ok or dead even after I called front desk several times through the night what was the point of heart being monitored if the leads were not on. It is so much that needs to be done on this floor training program might help or a new staff. This floor is supposed to help you get over you heart and blood pressure but you get more stressed.

  • SallyCat

Dr. Olalowo was insincere, rude and arrogant. Has done nothing for why I came to the ER but boasts that my health has improved significantly just because I’m not nauseous. While I lay here with back pain and now my hands and feet are swollen. I asked about my back pain and he told me to get another job. I will never come back here even if my life depended on it. I had to wave down people just to use the bathroom. None of my concerns were addressed.

  • melonie hall

I want to give a huge shout out to the nurses on the third floor! My mom went in there in November for a stroke, and those nurses, were so sweet, friendly, and a sense a humor, which I think laughter is the best medicine, and the support from them just amazed me. They treated my mom like they would have for their own family. They even showed me support while I was so scared for my mother. So thank you for me and my mom, Mary ❤️ and happy holidays!

  • Ofelia F

Arrived to the ER because my sodium was low. Was left without water the whole time, and was not even allowed to use the bathroom. Then an ER nurse came in and without saying a word, took off my underwear and placed a patch on my hip. But they had no reason to take off my underwear for that. And I never found out why they put a patch on me? Not a good experience in the ER, but once I moved to a room, I was treated great. 10/10 once in room.

  • Katalina Reese

EVERYTHING about the hospital exceeded my expectations! Except the bald arrogant doc who entered my daughter's room with a group of students. Didn't knock, nor introduce himself, shut off her tv, tried to intimidate her by unsuccessfully attempting to shame her about her condition. She flipped the tables on him. Students and staff seemed nervous around him, but my girl comically left him dumbfounded. Guess you've met your match, Baldy.

  • Stephanie De La Cruz

This was my first baby and the nurse in labor and delivery were just fantastic. Definitely made me feel safe and more at ease. I ended up needing a c-section and the nurse Stephanie was the greatest. And the same with the recovery nurses! Nicole was very sweet and informative she help me understand a lot of what was going on with baby and me. I wish I could take them home!! So much love and help from all the nurses!! Thank you all ❤️

  • Ayyangar Komanduri

My recent Kidney infection has caused much trauma , pain and anguish. However, I was at the best place for treatment and care. My overall experience was very satisfying, especially since I got better very fast in 2 days. All this is due to exceptional care I received at Metro Hospital. The nursing staff were kind and caring and attended to all my needs. I got discahrged from the hosipial with pain free and a smile on my face.

  • Michael A Vasquez

From my very entrance into the ER I was treated with the utmost care from the entire staff. From the receptionist to all the Dr's, nurses, nurse assistants, Dr's that made the rounds even the ladies that cleaned my room each day. I could not believe how happy and helpful and caring they all were. Made my stay very pleasant. My sisters and I were very impressed. Thank Metropolitan Hospital and staff. God bless you all.

  • Grace Murillo

Very efficient and staff was very informative. Nursing staff was extremely helpful and very professional and excellent care after my difficult surgical procedure. Highly recommend this hospital. The Doctors were amazing and everyone on staff from the one's that prepared me for my surgery to the one's bringing my food to the lady cleaning my room also the admitting staff were excellent .

  • Debra HERNANDEZ

I have had really great service. They have great blood people. The Admitting blood goddess Maria did not hurt me and I'm a big baby. Before surgery, the nurse who inserted my IV did it on the first try. The nurses were great. Surprisingly they had a lot of male nurses and I felt weird at first. They were very sensitive to my dignity and privacy. True professionals. :) It's been a good stay.

I came in for a little outpatient cardiac procedure. From check-in to release, it was a very pleasant experience. I had the nicest nurses. Pattie, Natalie, and Yolanda were very attentive and knew what they were doing. Jennifer is the first Nurse EVER to insert an IV and I never felt it. I had to stay a few hours before my release, and I was never alone. Awesome care. Thanks to all!!!

I give 5 stars to call who took care of me. They knew what to do, made me feel comfortable and talked with me while doing their jobs. I was cold and they brought warm blankets. They brought my son back several times and it kept me calm. They made sure I understood what was being done and checked for questions. Everyone was pleasant and who smiles at 4 in the morning? They do.

Everybody was kind. Procedure went as planned. Personnel needs to share patient information. My wife was directed to a different waiting room while I was recuperating. Nurse couldn’t find her and was where the doctor told her to go. Also the Covid tester was down right rude. Not conscious to the fact I have a hearing problem. She made that experience very frustrating.

I really would like to first start by saying of you have no insurance this is not the emergency department for you. They are rude and do the bare minimum to help figure out anyway to accomodate you. Having emergency situation i was told by the OBGYN that he could not help me with the surgery that was needed unless it was a life or death ssituation. Until then go home

The entire nursing staff was amazing. Everyone who attended to me during my stay made my recovery easy. Even the staff that came and delivered the food to my room were friendly. There are too many names to list for the individuals who took care of me during my stay. Even the young the lady that came to clean my room was very nice. Everyone greeted you with a smile.

I didn't expect much because of my difficulty communicating with anybody through their switchboard beforehand. But I felt like the care there from preop all the way to discharge was spectacular. To a person the staff was attentive and obviously cared about my well-being-- particularly in the unit I was in after surgery on the 5th floor. My staff was just fantastic.

Wonderful care from:, all admission staff (diana, Alex, Jasmine and a Margaret) surgery prep (Trish) and the nurses: Pam (by far the best) Toby, Blanca, Marco and Julie (Julie was absolutely fantastic). Also Jesus who brought food was a sweetheart. I was very well taken care of and my room was very clean and comfortable. Thank you so much for your fantastic care!

I found two nurses to be very compassionate. Their names are Rose and Araceli, and they were outstanding. Compassionate care makes a world of difference after a painful surgery. At times it was difficult to deal with the pain when one has to keep waiting way pass the scheduled medication time. Otherwise overall very organized facility and service. Thank you!

I haven't experienced this kind of quality of service from a hospital in a very long time. I hope, the professionalism and patient-oriented care continues. The staff gives a patient a secure feeling. I would like to make this my hospital if I ever need to stay in one. I felt like, I was in good hands. Everyone was extremely professional. Thank you!

Over all a wonderful experience. From the front desk, admissions, the nurses, surgeon, all the staff in pre-op were extremely professional, friendly, courteous, and made sure I was comfortable. Knew i have hearing problems & made sure I understood everything being done from beginning till end. I definitely will be back for my other knee surgery.

After surgery I was extremely nauseous. The staff was very attentive and extremely patient with me. Every staff member that I came into contact from the time I arrived to the time I departed was top notch. All were very friendly and professional. I don't want to ever have surgery again but if I do... I would definitely go back to this hospital.

Wonderful experience only draw back had to get there at 9 for sure 12:30 surgery. Had to sit in waiting room til 11:00 than got moved to to holding area to get prepped for surgery. Got treated like royalty and fast paced after that. Nurses were very attentive to my needs made sure I was comfortable while I was waiting my turn in surgery.

My experience at the hospital was beyond awesome. The nurses are so friendly and caring. Special Thanks to Margaret that prepared me for surgery she was wonderful and I felt at ease. Also two nurses that were very friendly and helpful were Monica and Vanessa. I have to say that everybody that I came in contact with, were very friendly.

  • Lizi Bond

My experience was excellent with all their staff, nurses, and doctors. Very caring nurses but will have a lot of appreciation for my recovery nurse Cynthia and Rose & Manny from the 5th floor. I never received a card with all the names of nurses and medical staff that attended me that they told me before surgery I was going to get.

Well today July 16,2023 I brought my uncle to the emergency room and the people on front desk were very rude to him he is 86 years old he is in so much pain and this people treat him bad I brought him here because I have been treated here and I was treated good but this time is not the same with my old uncle so sad this situation

From the time registration took place until called back for basic labs was 45 minutes. Front desk clerk first said lab tech would arrive at 7:30 then she said 8:00. Lab tech appeared more interested in her personal phone than on patient. Not only the phone issue, but she needed to be reminded to collect a urine that was ordered!

The only thing I did not like is nurses not wearing gloves are washing their hands before touching me are the area that was cut. That's very in sanitary and dangerous. That's how patients get stuff infection. I got covid and RSV I was not even sick. Please advice nurses how important it is to wear gloves and wash their hands.

  • Jim Denning

The pre-op nurses Maribel and Yvonne were amazing. Everything ran exactly on time. Day of operation was the exact same thing. Everything ran exactly on schedule with zero surprises. All my questions were answered patiently and professionally. Just really good caring people there. I felt cared for not just operated on.

  • Kasey Martinez

Currently delivered my 2nd baby here in the women’s pavilion all the nurses were so wonderful and friendly and attentive especially Kimberly the African American with very short hair she made me laugh so much!! And just made my experience less scary. And there’s another girl names Kimberly, including Emma<3

  • Laura Robertson

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience while in hospital. From the moment I arrived, it was a smooth, organized experience. All nurses and staff I encountered were kind and compassionate. And great cheerleaders as I began to hobble around the floor to get some recovery walks in after surgery. =)

  • Ma Touri Mitchell

Surgery experience was great but after care, as well as the ER visit, I was not satisfied with at all. I set up there for four hours with my children and my friend just for them to tell me that they did not have the medical supplies I needed when all I needed was my wound to be cleaned and dressed.

  • Cody Delgado

The ER nurses are the rudest I’ve ever experienced. It wasn’t till I got my room after three days in the er that I actually experienced friendly staff that actually seemed like they wanted to help. The ER nurses though, don’t even bother asking for water or anything. Total trash attitudes.

  • Clem Herrera

My nurses Rhonda, Kelly,Gabby,Sue,Sonia,Lorraine are the best, the energy level they possess is exceptional they are so knowledgeable and nice it made my time there so stress free. Thank you Rhonda (Robin) lol,for setting the bar so high for others to meet or exceed. You’re the best.
