I've taken all my dogs to this location for various reasons over the years. Most recently, I took in my son's dog (a large pit bull mix) who badly needed a nail trim at the time he came back to me. I learned that he also had a shattered nail, so this clinic took care of the shattered nail and nail trim. After his visit, I asked about the length and curve of his back nails and was told that it was fine ($382). 2 weeks later, another nail separated from the quick and I had to return for this nail to be taken care of and was told that he was given another nail trim, at no cost (the bill was still $286). I noticed the clinic used nail trimmers (no drimmel) and my dogs nails were always still pretty long and jagged after each appointment. Since the last visit, he's lost 2 more nails and now has another nail that has split from the quick and this office is not willing to work with me on pricing; they've assured me it'll be around $300 again. I asked about using a drimmel and they stated that it costs twice the amount of a regular trim. Given the size of my dog and the thickness of his nails, I'd think experts would have recommended this instead of my having to ask. I'd also think that this clinic would be willing to discount this SECOND VISIT FOR THE SAME ISSUE that is likely due to the splintering that occurred when they used nail clippers, instead of a drimmel on my dog. I'll never return nor recommend the 79th Street location again.
I highly recommend Michigan Road Animal Hospital at Crooked Creek. We have taken our cats there for care many times, and the staff are always friendly and professional, the techs treat the animals kindly and with gentleness, competence, and patience. The doctors are great, and my wife and I have especially have appreciated Drs. Estes, Gustin, and Jacobs' kindness as we dealt with the cancers that killed two of our beloved kitties, Molly and Mr. Spock. Their willingness to give us the facts, and their understanding about the realities of our financial limitations for treatment, as well as their constant efforts to make the final months we had with our cats as comfortable and happy for the cat and for us as was possible -- all has been greatly appreciated. They are genuinely good and caring people. The doctors here do not recommend unecessary tests. Their prices are fair, and they recommend cost-effective treatment options whenever they are possible. We have greatly appreciated this as well, since while our love for our cats is boundless, our bank account is decidedly not! In short, I give them my highest recommendation, and hope it will be possible to continue taking my own pets there for years to come.
My dog has been there since he was a puppy. It has always been rather pricey but other than that I didn’t have many issues until his last visit. My dog left traumatized and dripping blood and I refuse to go back. Dr Wagner was careless in cutting my dogs nails, and pulled out Quik Stop before even beginning to cut them. I figured it was just precautionary until she chopped right through his quik and his poor paw was gushing blood. They also had him in a headlock during this process causing unnecessary stress and were telling me to calm him down as he was screaming and shrieking, trying to break free. I figured maybe the first nail was an accident, so I let her try one more. SAME exact thing happened. She tried to do more and I immediately told her not to touch him and that I’ll take him elsewhere. She had no remorse for what she did and my dog now has not been able to be fully groomed since this incident due to the stress and anger it now causes him. I got no apology from Dr Wagner and she showed zero concern for my dog and acted as if it was totally normal. Someone that cruel shouldn’t be working with animals. My dog will now have to be medicated to hopefully get his nails trimmed at some point.
This location requires you to wait in your car and call when you arrive. Then, instead of checking you in when you call, they have someone call you back to check you in. Then, someone comes out to get your animal. Twice, including our first visit, we were checked in but waited over 30 minutes before I had to call again to get someone to come out. It's hard to wait this long outside with your animal. Then, on my most recent visit, I was asked if they could do the visit outside. I don't pay hundreds of dollars to have my dog seen outside on a day when the temps were in the high 80's and there was high humidity. 2 days after that visit, they contacted me to say my dog needed a flu shot and I would need to come in for another visit. I'm disappointed that they didn't catch this while I was there. Staff seems nice when they're with my dog, but I'm just tired of how they operate. We found a different vet today.
They've been taking care of my dog for 6 years since he was puppy and they do great job. However this year when I took him to the clinic for annual checkups, I asked them to sedate my dog so that they can trim his nails short while he is sleeping (he hates nail trimming). He came back with his nail untrimmed and later I was informed his nail did not need to get trimmed. Only reason why he got sedated was because I wanted his nail trimmed short, so I feel bad for him that he had to go through that and I wish I could have better communication with the clinic beforehand. Update: The clinic called me and explained to me why this has happened. Because my work hours are hectic, I could not pick up when they called me first time, but Dr. Peters called me again after their business hours. I truly appreciate their effort to reach me and clarify things with me.
We just switched to vet for our new rescue pup. We had been with a vet in Broad Ripple for over 10yrs but had a couple negative experiences there during the pandemic so we decided to start fresh with our new family member. Michigan Rd was suggested by a trusted neighbor and we couldn't be happier! Our new gal is a muscly 25lbs dachshund mix who tries to hide her fear by being tough but she warmed up to the tech at curbside and walked in willingly without her momma! Due to COVID, we have yet to go inside and meet the vet and other staff but everyone over the phone has been simply wonderful! Thank you, Michigan Rd for providing great care for my fur baby and awesome customer service!
They are so wonderful! My family has used their services since they opened in the '60s. Imagine a business being around that long these days! I especially want to thank Dr. Wagner. She helped me treat my sweet Chihuahua Ethel through congestive heart failure, and helped me send her across Rainbow Bridge on Monday. Be the big dog Ethel! I love you! And my Yorkie Poppy had knee surgery with Dr. Duncan 20 years ago, and came back to her old self! Now Ethel and Poppy can play with my other pets except my Siamese Princess because, of course, she WAS a princess. Anyone wanting a compassionate caring pet hospital and office, please use Michigan Road Animal Hospital! Thank you so much!
We have been utilizing Michigan Road AH for several years, and its simply because of the level of care our furry friends receive when we need to bring them in. In recent years Dr. Jacobs has specifically been our primary and her caring personality and attention to detail for our dog, and us, has made rough situations easier to deal with. Other members of the staff are also very friendly and great at the their jobs as well. After losing our first dog to cancer, we immediately brought our next dog here for her first and subsequent visits too. While I can't say the pricing is more or less expensive than anywhere else, we think the care is exceptional and worth the cost.
Everything was great! Thanks for adapting so quickly and being sensitive to concerns about the pandemic. Everyone I interacted with was helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, and happy even though I'm sure new guidelines are difficult, frustrating, and stressful. I've been taking my dog here for 4 years since I adopted him from the Humane Society. We usually visit about 4 or 5 times a year -- both planned preventive visits and surprise injuries. They make great recommendations for his health that fit our lifestyle. I feel that the amount they charge for their services are very fair.
This facility is filled with kind people. They care so much about the animals they see and that is evident. The people are also very friendly in general too :) I had a problem with using my Pet Desk app at checkout and the manager Valerie handled my concern with quick understandings. I appreciate her effort to help me out, and to have heard my concerns. Thank you, Valerie! I also want to thank Dr. Wagner for her thorough notes she wrote for how to help my doggie get better. Thank you, Dr. Wagner! Everyone should feel safe to go to this facility. I highly recommend it to anyone.
When I fist got my black miniature poodle I had no specific vet to take him. My coworker suggested that I take Pharoah (my puppy) to this location. I don't regret any moment of it. The woman that work here are absolutely AMAZING. They were very informational, loving, caring and gentle with my pup. I still remember our very first visit there which means a lot to me. Although, the prices are somewhat expensive compared to other places, I don't mind because I KNOW I'm getting the best care and quality for my dog. I highly recommend Michigan Road Animal Hospital.
I cannot say enough kind words about the staff here and in particular Dr Estes. There have been times that I believe she has gone above and beyond the usual vet duties for one of my cats. I first came here over 2 years ago when I needed an evening appointment for a new cat I had found at the shelter. The staff and Dr Estes took care of him immediately. Sadly, I lost my little guy a year later, but I know that I gave him the best year of his lift by bringing him to Michigan Rd Animal Hospital. Everyone here is so friendly, helpful and compassionate.
Even during unique times like the world is experiencing, we still have to get care for pooch as we've always done for our furry family members, and we prefer to use Michigan Road Animal Hospital. They have adapted to the current demands to make things as safe as possible and still provide a "family-friendly" and responsive environment. It has to be difficult to provide the same level of care now, but the staff and our new Dr. were all helpful and professional. We look forward to utilizing their services for years to come.
I have been taking my dog here for almost a decade. Polite staff that loves your pet almost as much as you do. The pricing is the average & you're likely not going to find a better price without sacrificing the care of your pet. They offer not only great care for your pet but medical boarding for the ones that need extra care when you go out of town. I definitely recommend them for your non-human babies. Update: my elder dog past away and they sent me a card expressing their sympathy. They truly go above & beyond!
We love Dr. Estes and the staff at Michigan Road Animal Hospital at Crooked Creek! They really care about the patients and the families that care for them. Our sweet boy, who we had only had for 3 days, got a bad cough, so we called to see what we should do. They worked him in that day and checked him over thoroughly, to be sure it wasn't something serious, and to figure out what was going on. We are so thankful for their dedication and heart for the pets they care for! We will continue to bring our pets here!
Dr Peters was wonderful, as was her tech (I believe her name was Melissa?). They helped me (and my cat!) feel comfortable as a first-time cat owner. They answered all of my many questions and helped me get all set up for him to have continual great care. The office staff were all helpful and nice as well, even though I know they're very busy and still dealing with curbside pickups (so much running around, I really admire their ability to keep it all moving). I'm excited to bring my boy back for checkups!
I just made the really difficult decision to put down my kitty. Everyone at Michigan Road Animal Hospital at Crooked Creek was amazing throughout the process. I am so grateful for the honesty of Dr. Peters and the care with which she went through blood work results and realistic expectations with respect to her declining health. And for the compassion of Dr. Peters, Dr. Estes, and everyone I cried to on the phone or in person. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
Michigan Road Animal Hospital has been a part of my family since I started bringing Jakobe to them and his vet is Dr. Jacobs. Jakobe is now 15 yrs old and MRAH has taken such great care of him and me too. And Carol, Jakobe's groomer has always made sure that Jakobe looks his best and wins furbaby contests. I will always recommend MRAH to anyone that is in search of great animal care, great vets, and a great groomer. I love MRAH and God Bless Them All!!! 09/06/2020
I have been taking members of my furry family here for the last 23 years, Two cats and a dog. I don't believe there is any other place that gives or gave my buds the same love and care as I. My little Sydney used to get so excited whenever we went there. She acted as if this was her place alone and they treated her that way.. Dr Herd and Dr Estes are so wonderful and caring; they could be my doctors. In fact the entire staff is of the same caliber as the doctors.
We feel very comfortable taking our 14 year old westie for care at Michigan Road Animal Hospital. He has been going there since he was a two pound pup. They lovingly care for him. Daphne has known him from day one and always comes to say hello to him. We would never return to a place that treated our puppy family member poorly, so the fact that we've been with Michigan Road Animal Hospital for 14 years shows we have great faith in the care and love they provide.
My whole family has been taking our pups here for almost 10 years and the staff has been nothing short of remarkable. Dr. Estes is so kind, takes her time to answer all questions, and has so much empathy. The whole crew treats our pups like their own…even my Rosie, who isn’t always the nicest to other animals. It’s not easy to find vets you can trust, but Michigan Road is your place! We drive 30-40 minutes just to bring them here!
The team at Michigan Road at Crooked Creek is incredible. Doctors, Vet Techs and Office Team do an amazing job. Our rescue, Guardian Angel Basset Rescue, has taken over 125 bassets to this team over the past 3 years. We know every member of the team will give our bassets the special care they need when first entering the rescue program. They are an important part of preparing the rescues for their forever adoptions.
We have been taking our pets to Michigan Road animal hospital CC for the past 10 years. Their entire staff is committed to the health of our pets. I highly recommend MRAH at CC for your dog or cat. They go out of their way to make sure you and your pet are happy. Over the years we have had routine care and a few emergency care visits with them. Their staff is dedicated to caring for the animals they see.
Dr Estes and the staff are very helpful respectful and compassionate. Couldn’t ask for anything else, they answer all my questions and I feel always give great advice. We have been going to this animal Hospital for many years and with Dr Estes since she has been with this practice. I just think she is the best doctor I have ever had. I highly recommend her as well as The Michigan Road Animal hospital!!!
Michigan Road Animal Hospital was able to quickly schedule an appointment for my dog when my usual vet was unavailable. The staff and vet at Michigan Road Animal Hospital were courteous, efficient, and transparent in pricing and options for treatment. I appreciate outstanding service providers like this and am thankful they are available when care for a pet is needed on short notice.
Michigan Road Animal Hospital was recommended to me as a place to take my rescued Chihuahua! I am so glad that I did! They were great! Efficiently examined her in a timely manner, was very knowledgeable in the information that was provided about her heath. Made me feel at ease and took my anxiety away. Even during this time in this pandemic, their curbside care was exceptional!!!!!!
We love Michigan Road Animal Hospital at Crooked Creek! I am always able to get ahold of them quickly and conveniently, and they know us by name when we arrive. All of the techs are really kind and knowledgeable, and care so much about our animals. Dr. Peters has treated all of our pets/fosters and we really appreciate her care and attention to our concerns. Highly recommend!
Everyone is very friendly and clearly love animals. Probably the only complaint they have is they love on your animals so much they typically run late by the evening. Pricing runs similar to those of other clinics. However, they talk to you about how you take care of your animal to determine what you need. It's not a one size fits all healthcare system for dogs.
I brought my dog Maya here a wellness exam for the first time and the staff were friendly and helpful. The animal clinic I normally take her to wasn't available at the time to see her. They were fast, efficient, and informative about all of the concerns I had regarding her overall health. Thank you so much, Dr. Estes for seeing her. We will see you on the 3rd.
They fit me in at the last minute when my regular vet was unavailable and my dog needed to be seen that day. They were friendly and compassionate. They quickly got my dog evaluated and diagnosed and meds received. The price was very reasonable. If I didn't have a regular vet already, I would use this vet for all my needs. I'm happy and so is my dog!
My cat was not eating, drinking, or urinating. I called up Michigan Road Animal Hospital and was given an appointment the same day. Dr. Wagner and all the technicians were so loving and caring with Meeku. They did some blood work on her and followed up with me. They were very responsive and answered all my questions. I could not be happier with them
I’ve been going to this vet for 6+ years, and wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else. They know my pup by name every time we visit. The staff always greet her (and me!) with excitement. Right now, their COVID curbside service has been awesome. If you’re looking for a vet and staff that will take a true interest in you and your pet, check them out!
Been our family vet for over 25 years. They might be more expensive in some areas but they treat our pets like the family members they are. We will never go anywhere else. The groomers are fantastic. Carol is fantastic. They will do your pets checkup/shots and groom all in the same appointment. Super convenient. They really treat you like family.
I've been coming to this this animal hospital for a long time & my fur babies have always gotten the best of care. They treat them as if they are their own & the staff is really nice. My questions are answered & Dr. Estes is great! My experience with the veterinarians at this hospital has been top notch & I highly recommend them.
Highly recommend Michigan Road Animal Hospital! We have been at this vet for 10+ years and both of our dogs are taken care of here. We have had two emergencies and were fit in right away and provided with exceptional care. They are caring, compassionate and knowledgeable. We see Dr. Jacobs and highly recommend, she's the best!
Gee- that is difficult because you guys did everything you should do. Keep up the great work! Maybe a reminder text to bring the stool sample in the day before so it would have been foremost on my mind. The staff members were very friendly as was our Veterinarian, Dr. Brahos. I would definitely recommend their practice.
I love the new younger vet Ms Peters! She's amazing! For once, I felt my pittie was happy and really liked her. She was more than attentive and did an awesome job . She was very welcoming and knew everything about my dogs preexisting conditions. Not such a great experience last time, but this one with her was great!!!!
Since moving to indianapolis 6 years ago, I was pleasantly surprised to find a wonderful vets office conveniently located, and with having 2 dogs and four cats at that time meant I was there frequently. The staff is professional and skilled, not to mention, extremely caring. Highly recommend.
Love the people here. Very compassionate and caring. Staff is professional and courteous. Cant think of anything negative. The prices are comparable with other vets and they have been good in their precautions against Covid. Will continue using their services as long as I have a furrbaby!
The BEST vet ever :) Super fast, efficient, and friendly. I took my new Beagle puppy there and got the puppy package (which included EVERYTHING I needed) and got my little mister fixed. We've had nothing but great experiences here and the staff is the sweetest ever. Definitely recommend!
I am so grateful I was able to get my dog seen last week. The process went smoothly and Dr. Jacobs was awesome! I appreciated her transparency and honesty! I have a place I can comfortably take my pet as long as she’s with me! I want to thank all of them for their assistance last week.
Great place with staff that genuinely cares about pets! This place can do just about anything needed, they have a fair price, and a common sense approach. They are also the vets that my foster group uses to take care of dogs that come into our care. I couldn't recommend them enough!
I had a great experience with Dr. Peters and her assistants, and they were wonderful with my cat Techno. I also very much appreciate the patience and understanding of the staff. The only reason I'm not giving this a 10 is because of one receptionist that I have issues with.
I've been going here for over 10 years, even adopted 2 MRAH lobby babies. Yesterday the Vet would NOT allow me to be 10 minutes late to an appointment, because of my driving time after my dog had a seizure. Heaven forbid I be an inconvenience during an emergency situation.
The staff is wonderful! Very kind and accommodating to you and your furry friend. No long wait or noisy waiting room. Vet was knowledgeable and straight to the point about what’s needed and they offer later appt times to accommodate your schedule. Definitely recommend.
Traveling across the state's we found and rescued a 3wk old kitty (Sept of 2016). When we got into Indiana, MRAH checked out our sweet rescue kitty Bolt and helped us with everything we needed for him then and throughout the rest if our trip. Great staff and Dr's.
There is not one thing that any member of your staff could have done better. I love Dr. Estes and every member of the staff here. It is so clear how much you love the animals that come in and want the best for them. I wouldn't consider going anywhere else.
Of course this place gets 5 stars from me. I've been taking my fur babies (and there are and have been quite a few) for 26 years. I don't trust anyone else with my babies! My current dog loves Dr. Estes! I love that I can drop in and get his nails trimmed.
Most professional and caring animal hospital I have ever been to. The level of care through the pandemic has been impressive. The hospital has done everything possible to remain safe , while still providing that very personal touch to our precious pets.
Even with the extra precautions due to the COVID-19, Dr. Jacob's was very thorough with the exam she gave our two girls. She didn't rush whenever we had a question and explained everything so we understand. Besides, our girls love her and the staff!
I love the friendly and caring staff. They treat all of our fur babies like part of their family. When we lost one of our beloved animals we not only received a phone call from Dr Jacobs, but also a card from the staff as well. Highly recommend!
Dr. Estes provides quality, honest care for my pet. Carol is a great groomer, always takes the time to check in on how my pet is doing and any special requests. The staff are an integral part of providing care and keeping communication flowing.
Techs, assistant, and Dr Wagner were all incredibly empathetic, knowledgeable, and attentive. Receptionists were organized, helpful, and efficient. Cost of care is very reasonable, and quality of care is thorough. Great place to take your pet.
Wouldn’t take my dog anywhere else! Staff are very professional and compassionate. It is very clear that they care about all of the animals in their care. Doctors are very knowledgeable and explain things in a way that is easy to understand.
I recently had to put my dog down due to lymphoma. He was a young dog and also a service dog so his loss was painful in shoo many ways. The staff and my vet Dr. Kristy Jacobs could not have done Better job and handled everything with such
I have been taking my baby to MRAH since he was 8 weeks and am so happy I did! The staff is so friendly, welcoming and helpful - they make you feel like your baby is theirs. When we walk in with our miniature schnauzer the front staff and
We had an emergency situation with our kitty. We had to pay in advance for the visit which ended up with a $500+ bill for xrays that were incomplete and then sent on to a emergency hospital because the vet was leaving town and couldn't
I am so impressed with the care my dog has gotten here. They took great care of her after she became ill and even wanted updates throughout the weekend to be sure she was improving. I am very happy with the care my pet is getting.
We've taken all our dogs here for the last 20+ years. They have always been great with both our furry family and us. They are handling social distancing extremely well. Thank you Michigan Road Animal Hospital for great care!
Dr. Estes is a wonderful vet who gives our 2 old dogs excellent care. Neither of our dogs is afraid to go to the vet which is the highest praise I can give.A practical vet who genuinely cares about her patients.
I have been going to this practice for many years, and have always been happy with the service I received. Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend this practice to anyone who has a dog or cat.
Though our dog hates the vet, they are always so warm and welcoming. They truly care about the experience and do all they can to calm him down. I never leave with questions-they are clear, concise and thorough.
Great care for our dog who had a leg injury. Received a call from the veterinarian to update us on our dog’s injury and the next steps for helping him heal well. Wonderful staff that seem to love all animals!
Took my cat here on recommendation from my friend after my old vet seemed sketchy. I love it here they are so nice and truthful. Dr. Estes is wonderful. Thrilled for this to be my cats new medical provider.
Always helpful and know me and my pets. Have been taking my pets here for years. They do a great job and helped me get care elsewhere when my dog had a mast cell tumor on his foot, he is doing great now!!
Dr Wagner is very thorough, thoughtful, and informative. We have an elderly dog and I felt as though she really advocated for his best care options. This practice provides very personalized care.
My two dogs have been under the excellent care of Dr. Estes for more than five years! She and her team are truly angels who take good care of my "girls". I really appreciate this service!
Dr Wagner and the staff are incredible! They were patient and explained everything as we went. You can see and feel their love for animals. This is exactly what I want for my fur babies.
This would be nice to know when I make my appointment. I’ve been standing outside for an hour. I can’t go back home with 4 dogs. Poor communication. At least post this on your website.
We just switched all of our rescues to this practice(3 dogs, 4 cats). Took our crazy large breed for our 1st round- all staff very friendly and professsional. Totally recommend.
This place is awesome! When I had to let my fig go they were kind courteous and cared about my family the whole steps of the way. I would recommend them for all services
They took care of my corgi who was having poopy problems and a light bleeding from his gentleman area. After taking his meds, he's doing all better now.
Staff and clinic are EXCEPTIONAL!!! We have been going ever since Dr Duncan started and have never been disappointed! Thank you!!!!!!!! <3
It could not have been better. Prompt service, compassionate staff, efficient and effective treatment for my dog. thank you!
Dr Estes is caring and super helpful on so many levels. Love the staff here too! They always treat my animals lovingly.
The staff was very friendly and informative. I couldn't have been happier with our first visit! Thank you!
They did great with Butter after developing an abscessed knowledge bone.
Very friendly staff that care about your companion animal's well being.
The most kind dogtors, lol. Very kind and understanding.
