Earlier today, you had the opportunity to create an exceptional customer experience. It would have been very easy to do; however, the associates at the MKT choose differently. My wife and I were in last Thursday looking for dining rooms chairs and saw several options that we thought would work. At that time, we selected the one we thought would work best and purchased one to try out in the space at home. We spoke with associate at the time about returning the chair if it didn’t work and we were told about the 7 day return policy. The service we received on Thursday was good. Today, after deciding that the chair would not work in our space, we ventured back to MKT to return the chair we purchased and to re-examine the other options we thought might work in our dining room. We had every intention of making a purchase of 10 chairs today. Upon arriving, we were poorly received with your associates focused on their own conversation and their backs to the door. When we asked to return the chair, we were curtly told it must be returned to the warehouse where we picked it up. When asked why we couldn’t return the chair there, as that is where we paid initially, we were simply told that was how all furniture stores did it. That we must drive back to the warehouse to return it. I understand that is your policy and process. I also know that they could have easily said yes and saved us the extra time of going to the warehouse. They could have made the choice of taking a little extra moment to take the return. Instead, we left, returned the chair and did not return to the store. In the grand scheme of your business, this may seem a small thing and losing one potential purchase no big deal. However, you could have just as easily have earned a customer for life. I hope you consider how your team could be more flexible with your customers. Saying yes should have been easy.
Just had an awesome experience with Elte Mkt. I moved offices so I needed to buy a couch for my office. I looked online at West Elm, Pottery Barn and a bunch of other big American brands like that. They had nice stuff but it was all $2000+ for a couch with tax. Also, it was coming from the United States and even the QuickShipping models were on a 3-6 week timeline. I saw an ad for Elte Mkt on Davenport and I Googled it. They have a great online store and surprisingly the prices were awesome for nice designer stuff. I say surprisingly because the normal Elte is VERY expensive - think $10,000+ for a sofa. The store was easy to use and in about ten minutes I had checked out. The online store allowed me to schedule a delivery and to my surprise it offered me a time 4 days from the date I was ordering the couch. I selected it. I thought for sure it was a malfunction and so I tried to call the store once but it was after hours. Then my delivery data came and I was planning on calling the store again but the couch just arrived!!. The guys who delivered it were nice and very quick. The couch matches exactly the provided description. It even came with three throw pillows which I was not expecting. It looks great and was cheap, fast and a VERY EASY process. No customs and payments upon delivery. Well done Elte Mkt!!
One of the worst customer experiences ever. This place clearly does not care about their customers and will force you to pay the incorrect pricing and for their mistakes. Save yourself the time and headache. Worst business ever. I purchased a dining table here and paid the full amount (including delivery fee) in person. The sales associate ensured us that we would receive our delivery on time. However, when received our delivery they had sent the wrong item. Turns out they had charged us for the wrong item. It was always difficult to try and get a hold of the sales associate and management. After 4 days, they finally corrected their error and sent us a new invoice and delivery date. This new invoice was also incorrect and they charged us more than the price originally in store. I tried to talk to a manager but they were never available. The store refused to correct their mistakes and forced us to pay the wrong price if we wanted the dining table to be delivered. What kind of backward business practice is that, forcing your customer to pay the wrong price first in order to recieve their goods. This whole experience has been horrible and a huge inconvenience for us.
Called ahead to be efficient, and placed an order over the phone because sales rep said that's better than coming into the store or ordering online... this is where everything goes sideways. After placing the order, I called 20 mins later as we didn't receive the confirmation email. Rep tells me he got a bounce back, so he will resend the email. Not sure why didn't he try to call me back when he realised he got the wrong email. I clearly told him I was coming in to pick up this morning. When I finally received the forwarded email and he had clearly misspelled the email from start to finish. Then when we picked up the order in store, we were not surprised to see the name misspelled as well. They then direct us to an entirely different location to pick up the unit....The rep clearly knew I was trying to consider all options to be efficient, and could have told me to pay digitally so I can save the extra trip. On so many fronts, just not happy about the lengths it took to get my product, and the spelling errors and reactiveness to a bounce back email is just unprofessional.
Good furniture but major supply chain issues and terrible customer service. I ordered a $900 coffee table which was paid for in full up front June 15 and was advised of a 12 week TAT to receive it. Every month I receive an email stating there will be another delay- nothing more than a sorry, and I even requested a small discount for this inconvenience to which they replied 'nope'. Last I heard I will be receiving it at the end of November. Most reputable furniture business with these type of long TATs will have you pay a 50% deposit up front and the remainder upon delivery of goods. If you have 6 months to wait for standard non-customized furniture then by all means buy from here. I will not be purchasing any furniture from Elte or Elte Mkt ever again. I ordered a full kitchen set of furniture from Article a while back and I received in in ONE WEEK. Elte should take pointers from a company that has their you know what together.
All the sales people on the floor were very helpful and very nice. Susan in particular was extremely patient with us as we were choosing our couch and armchairs. She even went above and beyond to sketch out a floor plan of our condo to help us make an informed decision with our limited space. She’s knowledgeable and a straight shooter. She made suggestions for US and our lifestyle. She listened and provided suggestions that we would not considered. Followed up with us to make sure we had all our questions answered. A fellow sales person who stepped in when Susan was busy was also very helpful! We ended up with an EXTREMELY comfortable couch and beautiful armchairs that will fit our condo perfectly. We were told 6-8 weeks for delivery for the couch and were able to pick up the armchairs the next day! Factory staff where we picked up our armchairs were very nice and helpful.
Crooked, and extremely poor customer service. They were very quick to take full payment up front (6k) for multiple pieces with promises of prompt delivery to get the deal....then a few days later the emails started. "Oops, table won't be delivered for 3 months, and when it does arrive we are charging you a second delivery charge". "Oops, our policies are set corporate... my hands are tied". Completely ridiculous considering the amount of trade discounting they willingly offer decorators (thereby there is flex available to rectify sotuations). We attempted to find solutions but were told that they have no flexibility. Do yourself a favour and avoid Elte Mkt, Elte and Gingers as it appears to be a rampant Attitude/cultural issue in this organization. I feel like they are upcharging me when they feel they have an advantage over me.
Awful experience! Bought a bed online on Nov 23rd (it was the last one in stock, a floor model and discontinued product line). Called the store on the 24th to confirm my order, no call back. Called the store 3 times on the 25th no called back. Had to finally call again and ask for the sales manager. She informed me she was “looking into” and I had to ask her to go check if the bed was even sold to me. She came back and said no. So I have now wasted half of Black Friday weekend, thinking I bought a bed on sale only to find out that it was sold to someone else AND she can’t even refund me, the website team needs to do it and they are apparently backlogged. Now I need to try a find another king bed in my budget before the end of Black Friday weekend. Thanks ELTE MKT!
Dec 17 my purchases at ELTE Mkt were delivered to my home. Palmerston delivery, Maga and Raulston, were excellent - professional, polite, and willingly set them up as requested. Special accolade to Patty Mojica-Lim at ELTE Mkt. Patty was exceptional in customer service. Actively listened to what I was looking for, asked great questions to make recommendations on color, texture, sizes etc.; willing to show alternatives and how various items look together. Patty has amazing people skills. To illustrate, I was walking around the showroom for at least 30 minutes and almost left, when Patty with a smile approached me to ask if she could help. She certainly changed my experience and initial impression. I highly recommend to request Patty if you are shopping at ELTE.
My wife and I purchased a couch for our new home in October under the agreement that it would be ready for delivery around mid November when we gain possession of our new house. It is now mid March and still no couch. I call every month and they tell me within a few weeks. I call in a few weeks and they tell me another few weeks. I have never received a call from our sales guy Mark to tell us that it is going to be delayed. At this point now I feel like I was lied to by him just so he could make commission. I understand things are delayed but this is crazy. I have always wanted to make a big purchase from this place because it looks so great. All the staff over the phone has been nice but at this point it is a little tiresome.
Spent a few thousand dollars on a prior order and everything went smooth - so I decided to take advantage of their sale in October and bought a pouf for my living room. Expected delivery was Dec 18, after multiple prompts and follow ups from me to the sales associate all of which were replied to with “I’ll get back to you in a few days” (never did) I finally call and get a hold of a manager who proceeds to tell me the item is back ordered till April - this is nearly a month after I was supposed to get it. Needless to say - while the quality is decent - the customer service is severely lacking unless you escalate. Sad to say this will be my final transaction with any of Elte’s stores and I still have half a house to furnish...
I bought a sofa from Elte Mkt in September and shortly thereafter, reached out to their customer service department as the cushions starting losing their shape after only 2 months. Customer service's resolve was to turn the cushions over periodically. Again, I had only used this sofa for 2 months! 2 months time to start turning over your cushions is not acceptable. The response from customer service was extremely disappointing as I had much higher expectations considering these pieces are supposed to be of high quality. I, personally will not be shopping here again as I feel like I didn't get my money's worth, which is a feeling you should have after spending thousands of dollars on furniture.
The merchandise is beautiful. The store always looks great. I walked in early on a Tuesday and the store had no other customers. There were several employees at the front counter and not one of them even looked up or said hello. I walked through the entire store before one employee finally said hello, right before I left. There was a group of employees touring around and critically evaluating the displays, I walked right by them and not one of them said hello. It was not a great experience. They seemed to value how the place looks but not how it makes you feel being there.
I recently ran into an issue with a furniture order with ELTE Market that was going to be quite delayed as a result of supply chain issues on the part of their supplier due to the pandemic. Customer Service at ELTE Market was excellent. They went way above and beyond to accommodate me. I cannot say enough about the superb treatment I received. It wasn't even a huge order but it obviously counted to them. This pandemic has been very hard for many businesses and I wish them every success. I will definitely shop there again and would recommend ELTE Market to others.
Elte Market is located one block west of Elte (the flagship store) and Ginger. The designers of the store decided that the very large space should be darker than most stores. It reminded me of the lower level of the IKEA stores. They probably decided to add a store with more moderately priced store than the regular Elte so don't expect to find the same service/quality/product lines and variety of the regular Elte store. Since the stores are so closely located, I would recommend that you start with Elte Market before moving to the more upscale Elte store.
we ordered 2 pendent online 10 days ago and ordered is processed and I got order confirmation. 2 days ago I called the designated area for pick up and they confirm it is ready for pick up. I get there and the surprise that this item is back order and nothing ready to pick up!! no one was able to help next day I received an email that the item is not available and no expecting day for arrival. if the team is not available why it is shown available online and the full amount was taken from the visa. don't recommend this place. so disappointed
This place has so much beautiful merchandise to offer. It is huge so be ready to spend some time walking around their warehouse-looking space. I like the fact that you can walk around and not be interrupted or hurried by sales associates. Beautiful higher-end furniture but if you wish, wait for their sale prices. Service, once I was ready to place an order, was quick as there are many associates throughout the space.Walked out with a pillow and 2 Portman stools which I'm waiting to be delivered. Will post pictures.
Products are good but staff are rude or inappropriate. I’ve been hit on a few times when going to this store. It’s never flattering more rude and uncomfortable. Prices are fare but some stuff you can get a better deal on at Hudson’s Bay downtown when they have their designer furniture sale. I’d recommend to do your research before committing to a purchase with them. Accessories are priced high, many items you can get at Michaels Art supply store, Indigo and Hudson’s Bay for less.
Store with items not in stock, ordered a lamp which was supposed to come after 5 weeks, 2 month later called the store (nobody called me) and inquired. Found out it would be another 2 months...carpet I looked at had 4 months wait, a table 22 weeks wait, I assume if would be twice longer if I purchase any of them. No customer service, ridiculously overpriced for such a crappy experience. Avoid, there are a lot of great stores in Toronto which will treat you better than this.
Lacking customer service! I walked pass four employees all sitting at their desks and no acknowledgment that I was there, even a hello would have been nice. They had some pretty cool looking stuff, unfortunately a bit on the pricey side especially when they resemble IKEA furniture. I found it a little disorganized, but if you look hard enough, there are some beautiful pieces. I'd suggest the sale section, seems to be where the actual price should be for those items.
Elte Market is one of those spots where sometimes you don't see anything of real interest. Then the next visit, you'll see a number of things and want them all! Take note of and watch for their annual sales. They don't mess around with their markdowns. I have scored so big with 10p% wool rugs for $200, $400 and $600 for 6x8 feet and 8x10 feet rugs! You can score big and get excellent quality furnishings at rock bottom prices! Great to check out every few months!
I placed an order after being told the item would arrive by end of May/early June. I called on a whim to check on my order to find out it won't be shipping until end of August. Imagine my disbelief. I had to reach out for this information. Had I known from the beginning the item wouldn't be available until four months I wouldn't have made the order and would have settled on another purchase from a different retailer. Wont be shopping here again. Bad service.
Horrible customer service. Bought a product 6 weeks ago. Went to see it in person. It was broken. They told me they would try to fix it (drawers were misaligned). Have received very little follow up. I called 5-6 times now and no answer to whether it can be fixed or not. Sales rep tells me they are looking into it and i will get answer shortly. I never get a call back. I never post. EVER. But service here is terrible. Im still waiting.......
Had a great shopping experience with Mark…. Who (I’m embarrassed to say)…I mistakenly addressed as Andrew the entire time ….despite misnaming him…he was friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, professional…….. he helped us select a gorgeous, plush, stylish sectional that feel as though you’re sitting on a cloud of stuffed animals. My only problem will be staying awake long enough to watch any game, series or movie finish.
Patty and Florian, and in fact, ALL of the staff at Elte MKT, worked above and beyond for us. We had sizing difficulties that they were able to solve, and they worked really hard to stay within our budget. They night have cursed us at time, but you would never know it! Our modular sofa arrives tomorrow! I have recommended Elte MKT to everyone I know, and we will certainly be back again! Thanks Team!!
I never leave empty-handed...there is a wide range of home accessories right when you walk into the showroom and really affordable prices. Excellent value for your dollar on a wide selection of modern home furniture. You'll find a variety of bed frames, casual and contemporary dining tables and chairs as well as living room seating. Always a stop when I have decorating projects in the works.
Their showroom is beautiful but things are not great after you pay for your order. I bought a bed and was told that it was going to be in stock in 5 days. After I paid, it changed to 5 to 7 business days. It was actually delivered almost one month after and I don't even think it's the same colour that I ordered! I didn't want to wait another month so I decided to keep it...
Excellent selection. Loved it here. Great place if you're looking for quality modern furniture at a mid-high price point. They also have a cute plant section in the store which can make it a one stop shop for home furnishing and decor. The one thing to note is the warehouse is a 5min drive away. It would of been better experience if the two were connected.
Wanted to say a special thank you to Alexandra Tahir for helping me with a missing piece to my beautiful peg mirror. She was accommodating and prompt. My impression of a company really is set when you deal with their customer service. Rest assured they will go the extra step to make their customers happy. Highly recommended!
They have a great choice of furniture but the theme is a little limited to the kind of Scandinavian furniture (am I right here) I like this style and I’ve already bought a few pieces of furniture here. The team is helpful, the space is big enough to showcase the products the quality is good the delays are long !
Ordered a side table from here in February, I understand because of COVID, the delivery is slow. But No One follows up on my order. Every time I send a request, they say it will be ready at the end of the month. Now is July, still no one follow up with this. Very disappointed customer service.
Lots of interesting pieces in a very spacious and expansive showroom. The prices are certainly up there. Despite what other reviews have said, several staff members came up to us to offer assistance. I must say that staff were overall very friendly. There is a cafe tucked away at the back.
Excellent selection and fair price. Mary-Ellen helped us select a table with thoughtful probing questions and care. The delivery was "white glove", very careful in the house. Our experience has always been great!
Literally a large "market" with stylish modern and unique pieces to add to your home. Lots of beautiful accents, rug/cowhide selection, decor, and furniture.
Large big bulky selection of furniture. Did like 1 or 2 sofas but was not convinced that these are what I am looking foe.
Customer service terrible. Double check to ensure what’s final sale and what isn’t.
