VERY overpriced, helpless, ruthless & sarcastic staff (the tall blonde individual that jumps into discussion and answers questions, whenever you speak to staff!) . I’ve visited that place 5 times. Either mornings (9-10am or 2-4pm) - Wanting to buy focaccia…; In the afternoons everything is sold out. Incl. bread and most sandwiches! In the mornings I get told “its not ready yet” , “its too hot - can’t be sliced”, “ we don’t setve lunch food before 11am” TODAY I was there between 10:50-11:00 Had the same (sarcastic, arrogant and bossy attitude from same bloke - we can’t slice it ; not until 11am…(note the time difference…) So the cafe looks attractive and appealing but UNFORTUNATELY AND REGRETTABLY HAS APPALLING SERVICES ALTOGETHER. So, despite the hype and glamour the pompous looking location and venue, RUBBISH CUSTOMER SERVICES— You, Mr “Mgr” or whoever you are, you have ZERO PEOPLE’S skills. DO LEARN from customers that you should NEVER EVER argue with ANY customers. Firstly degrades your business values and customer experience. Secondly, you DON’T KNOW WHO you might be servicg (may be a mistery shopper purposely sent to check your services ) — IF YOU CARE TO IMPROVE you’ ll take the above as a learning curve. However, I DOUBT you will change, judging from your REPETITIVE arrogance and attitude of “I told you so” Shame, shame , shame as the place would make a lovely oasis for a break. (Never mind the EX-TOR-SIO-NATELY & UNJUSTIFIED PRICEY ITEMS … !!)

I’ve been coming to Mokoko since the start of the autumn and I cannot rate it highly enough! I work on the trains and come here pretty much daily as it’s the perfect start to my day. It’s a very relaxed atmosphere, the food is lovely (particularly the soup!) but more importantly the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The success of Mokoko is clearly a collaborative endeavour between all the staff but special recognition should go to Alex, the manager, who is very hands on, always smiling, and shines in a leadership role. I cannot imagine myself going anywhere else in Bristol. An update… Today exemplified why I come here so often. There was no vegan sandwiches left by the time I arrived but Charlotte wouldn’t allow me to go without so ensured that a vegan sandwich was provided. Nothing is ever too much trouble and I can honestly say I have never been to a cafe/restaurant where the people working there are so dedicated to the customer experience. I would never go anywhere else in Bristol.

Was sadly quite disappointed with my visit here. I walked into the cafe and said good morning to the lady behind the bar who was not super friendly. I ordered a coffee and looked at the croissants (that looked beautiful) I eventually decided on one but obviously chose badly as it was SO overcooked and very crunchy, plus overly sweet. I usually wouldn't mind but for £4.80 I was expecting much better. I also had my baby with me in the pushchair and I feel when you're the only person in the coffee shop it would have been a nice gesture to bring the coffee over so I could sit down and get the baby settled. Overall just very expensive for not a great experience

A lovely new addition to Temple Quay. I’ve been to a couple of the other Mokoko cafes, and while they’re good, this is my favourite one, as there’s a really nice atmosphere. It’s a great spot to go and meet friends or do a bit of work, and it’s baby friendly, which I very much appreciate: they have high chairs and baby changing, and also do babyccinos (although, these are a bit big for small hands, so I would suggest to them to use smaller cups for the littles!). The coffee is pretty good, but my favourite part of visiting are the pastries. I haven’t had such buttery, flakey pastries since visiting France! Such beautiful Viennoiserie. We had a fruit danish that had raspberries and crème patisserie with orange curd, a pain au raisin and a pain au chocolate, and they were all delicious. I highly recommend!

Delicious flaky croissants. I got the maple and pecan croissant and to my surprise it was stuffed with more maple and pecans inside! It was absolutely delicious. I also got the chai latte, it tasted really good with many flavorful spices but i didnt like that it was just warm, not a hot latte like its supposed to be. The place is very chill in the morning hours (the only time i went) and can be the perfect place to work/study. I highly recommend.

After cakesmith/bakehouse ridiculous price increase, we looked for an alternative bakery so far this place fits the bill. We bought sliced sourdough, got coffee, milkshake, almond croissant and two egg sandwiches. Coffees were greqt which isn't always the case with bakery coffees. The egg sandwich was so good, we got another one and I swear it was one of the best almond croissants I had. Yes, it's still a bit pricey but in line with Bristol bakeries that tend to be just a bit on the expensive side. I will definitely come here again!

This is a reasonably nice coffee shop, however the teas are served in tall plastic mugs using a teabag rather than loose leaf tea. They don't do pots. Also no saucer so after my green tea had stewed for a couple of minutes I had to wring the bag out and put it on the table. The mugs of tea are £2.80, which in many places would get you a pot of loose leaf tea that would do a couple of cups. The vibe is quite nice, the bread and sandwiches look good, but given how the drinks are served I wouldn't bother going back.

Nice place and staff, with tasty food. Let down by lack of food labelling in respect of what's vegan and what isn't, and in some cases what exactly the toppings are, which means you need to ask (some things are routinely labelled, some are not). That of course takes time, makes it hard to know until you've queued whether there's something suitable available, and holds up the queue (sometimes, the counter staff need to check with kitchen colleagues). Would have given an extra star if the labelling was sorted.

A new Mokoko venue in Redcliffe. It is more spacious than the one on Gaol Ferry steps and there is plenty of indoor seating although it is getting very popular. The coffee is excellent and the hazelnut pain au chocolat is particularly recommended. It sells baked goods with sandwiches, filled croissants and ciabatta at lunch time. It also sells sourdough loaves. It is just a few minutes walk across the river from Temple Meads station. There are clean toilets and it is a very comfortable spot for a break.

Very nice cafe and bakery, excellent customer service, beautiful decoration and especial care with sound absorbing features, which is something many places don’t give a thought but makes such an impact in the customer experience. The reason for the 4 starts and not 5 it’s because the croissants although delicious, were a bit toooo greasy, and the cinnamon bun although beautiful, was quite dry and not very flavourful. Would definitely return though, lovely place.

The bread they make is the best I've had in England. Their sandwiches are phenomenal too. the place itself is very beautiful and staff polite and helpful. a bit on the pricey side, it is a bit of a shock at first however in fairness if you compare it to a place like Costa, there's not much of a difference in price, but the difference in quality is substantial. BONUS - You can actually buy their bread too which is great

Best coffee stop by Temple Meads! The baked goods are to die for as well. Excellent spot to meet friends or focus on work if you need a change of scenery. Staff are friendly, facilities clean, and the WiFi is decent. They also care about the Bristol community, collecting donations for homeless charities and advertising local events. Definitely worth a trip if visiting Bristol by train or working nearby.

Incredibly tasty and well stacked sandwiches, delicious fresh bread and the service was delightful. Ginger Zinger was superb as well. Definitely the preferred option for catching a bite before jumping on the train.

Quite possibly one of the best croissants I’ve ever had. I’ve been around, eating my very fair share of croissants all around the world and somehow this unassuming diamond found itself in my top 3. Flakey, indulgent, decadent, complex, and lingering; this croissant really put Bristol on the bakery map for me. Keep it up, Mokoko team, I can’t wait to visit again soon. Oh and the coffee was great!

Lovely cafe with great selections of savoury and sweet treats. A lot of us came in for lunch and the staff were very quick and super polite, and because the prices are slightly lower to takeaway it encourages to take things for home which I'm personally a fan of

A thoroughly excellent experience from start to finish - A lush chill vibe and excellent energy from the staff! Food was beyond delicious, the sandwiches are full of flavour and wonderfully fresh, with amazing locally roasted coffee to boot. On my way out couldn't resist going back for what may well be the best donuts in Bristol! Definitely going to become a regular for me

Alas another Bristol cafe that has a no-dogs policy for no real reason. They have an open bakery one end, so why not just make the other end far away from it dog friendly? There’s genuinely no reason from an environmental health perspective. Hard bakery, Boston tea party, Farro etc etc all manage it. Happy to remove the review when the policy changes and upgrade to 5 stars.

I’m a regular at this Mokoko and come at least once a week. The coffee is great, the pastries and sourdough are to die for, great sarnies at lunch too and the staff are just so lovely. For me, they have by far the best pain au chocolat in Bristol. I even used it as the benchmark when I went to Paris (and didn’t manage to find one that beat it). Highly recommend!

A fabulous range of cakes and lots of sandwiches. Great coffee. Lots of people sitting with their earphones in and their laptops whirring. A great addition to this part of town.

I regularly go to the Temple Quay Mokoko for coffee with friends before work on Friday. The staff are always friendly, the coffee tastes great and the venue is just a great to socialise. Big shout out to (I suspect) the manager, I left my cycling hi-viz there once and he kept it for me when I arrived this morning. Highly recommend visiting this place :)

Mokoko was on my list of cafes I had to visit in Bristol and it did not disappoint. Had a nice breakfast there taking in the view and enjoying some amazing pastry and coffee. The danish was perfect but the almond croissant was a little too sweet for my liking, both delicious pastries nonetheless. Loved the coffee so much I even purchased their beans !

The staff are extremely polite, attentive and very helpful. A wide selection of food and drink options are available. And any member of the team are always on hand, in the event of any questions. (and I have asked a few). I now visit on a daily basis, mainly due to the above, and it providing a welcoming and relaxed environment to be in.

I had heard rave reviews about Mokoko so arrived excitedly, but was disappointed to find they don't seem to have a single pastry for vegans. I was offered a sad looking piece of banana bread or told to come back at lunch time for the chickpea sandwich. Disappointing considering how well other bakeries and cafes are catering for vegans!.

I was in Bristol for a day of back to back meetings and was recommended to go to this place. Outstanding customer service, product quality, cleanliness and ambiance. Thank you to the entire team at Mokoko Box Maker’s Yard and a special shout-out to the manager Alex that went above an beyond. Looking forward to coming back soon!

Just love the peacefulness here, it is a great spot to think do some remote work and it has got aircon too. Maybe the music can be a touch loud sometimes but I prefer that, than hearing customers conversations ;). Food is great too, prices are slightly steep but you pay for quality. Staff are all a lovely bunch too.

First visit. On a quick break at work, walked in for a coffee. Could not walk past the delicious selection of bakery goods!!! Lovely chap helped me select the most amazing treat (along the lines of a croissant with chocolate and custard..lush!) team were helpful, chatty and welcoming!! Lovely place! Will return!

Lovely staff, & spacious for a coffee place. I got a lemonade for just over 4£ & it was delicious! Cold & lemony with just the right amount of sweetness. Its a shame that they dont do iced-teas though. It was quite busy and seems to be popular among the locals.

Let's give Mokoko Coffee & Bakery a round of applause and some flowers! This place is truly worth a visit. While wandering in Bristol, I was drawn in by the La Marzocco coffee machine, and that assured me they take their coffee seriously.

I really wish this place had more vegan options as their coffee is lovely. Would give it a 5 star if they had a better selection. I've sometimes seen a banana bread and chickpea sandwich which were vegan. Very basic for a bakery.

According to the local in our group, Mokoko has “the best almond croissant in Bristol” - a bold claim to make however after tickling our tastebuds with said croissant I believe the claim is valid. Delicious. Nice coffee too.

Another Mokoko cafe opened in Temple Quay area. Local looks great and fresh. Delicious pastries, no vegan options. Cakes looks delicious with a few vegan. I cannot comment about the sandwiches. Overall good but pricey.

If you're looking for a beautiful long black coffee and a delicious pastry near Bristol Temple Meads this is the place for you. Staff are friendly, WiFi is good. I highly recommend as a pit stop, or place to meet

A great cafe and bakery with relaxing vibe and top coffee and bakery products. The sourdough bread is one of the best sourdough breads I’ve tasted. Always super efficient service and staff are lovely and friendly.

Simply , it is the best bakery in Bristol. Coffee is really good. Even the lemonade tastes like a Levant homemade lemonade.
