Exceptional staff working yesterday evening and wanted to take a moment to thank them for their patience and kindness. We are currently under going kitchen renovations with two very young toddlers. Last night we attempted dinner for the 3rd time ever with both of them in a restaurant. They have done well in the past, but last night was definitely not their night. They were tired, vocal and messy and we felt horribly for leaving the staff with such a big cleanup despite doing our best to keep clean after them. Our one daughter (1 years old) launched her water onto the floor, not to mention noodles and rice are just messy altogether and the floor was covered by the time we were done. Our server Brendan V was exceptionally patient & friendly. Ellyn, another lovely soul whom helped us with our tab and was also nearby helping sensed my stress and was one of the kindest empaths I've ever met. When I explained our situation and apologized for the mess, she assured me not to worry one bit, I said "you must have kids?" and she replied "no, my friends have many, one day though ... " again assuring me not to worry and that she has seen worse messes from adults. Bless her heart for being so kind. We apologize for the mess and can't thank you enough for the great customer service, lack of judgment and just being so kind. A great customer service experience which is rare these days.

This rating used to be a 5 star five years ago now it’s seemed the restaurant has taken a major dive in quality of service and cleanliness. I’m trying to keep in mind we went to eat at 7ish at night on a Tuesday and might just chop it down to the people they had working this night, but we were told we will be seated in a few, girl keeps doing whatever she was doing which is fine but nobody from the serving station came to get us so after a bit she stops what she’s doing to seat us, which must have been annoying for her. We are seated she leaves and doesn’t say anything, we wait because usually the server comes and asks if we have been here and all that jazz and then starts the order of drinks but nobody came for 6-7 minutes until the lady working at the front had walked over to the server station and pointed us out to the server. And she still didn’t come to the table, we flagged her down and order our drinks and then went to get out bowls. When it comes to cleanliness we noticed the floors were VERY oily and sticky, the rest of the restaurant was clean, but it was icky feeling walking around.

My business cohorts and I were very excited to try this restaurant out, and left very disappointed. While the "rules" are easy enough to understand... I guess we didn't "get" the game. You get ONE SHOT (unless you want to grossly overpay) to fill a bowl for your meal. They build the stations in such a manner that unless you know how to play, you will lose. Pro-tip: fill your bowl with protein FIRST. Be mindful of how you "stack" your veggies next. And then make the choice: do you HEAP noodles on top and just see what fits? Or do you make the mistake we did: be polite, and not attempt to create a literal mountain of food. Pro-tip: figure out how much sauce is enough to "season" your meal. We didn't do it right and wound up making an MSG nightmare. Hand your bowl to one of the teenage "chefs" and marvel as they attempt to entertain themselves first, and cook your food second. Choose your side (either rice, which goes perfect with all your noodles... or an egg... or... a tortilla??). Soon enough you're handed your bowl, and pray it turns out worth the $30 you just paid for it. Hard pass on ever returning.

New udate: prices are still high as ever and the quality is worse than ever. We sat ourselves and then had to track down a server for our drinks. This is not the servers fault in my opinion because there was only one and overworked and understaffed. This was on a Wednesday evening. Cooks consisted of a manager that looked stressed because of the lack of experience from his staff. Things are going downhill and I for one hope things change. Good luck mongos your going to need it Update: mongos is now insane for cost, kids bowls still 20 each and 5 for drinks. Sorry but i know that fountain is like 5 cents a glass. I dont think ill be making it a regular place to eat anymore. Sad that greed has taken over i society. We informed the waitress it was our first time there, and the waitress explained to us how it worked. However, she did a horrible job. "When you're ready go up to the buffet and fill your bowl and take it to the grill". We ordered our drinks (Dr. Pepper and a water) then when up to the buffet. When the bill came we were charged for 2 soft drinks and one us for the mega buffet, we pointed it out and they correct the drink but then informed us it was extra if you went up again. Since they don't have a menu and we informed the waitress it was our first time I really think this is something she should have told us. Also as we were leaving I heard another waitress asking if anyone has allergies as they'll prepare the grill for you. Again we weren't asked this. Very disappointed with our waitress.

Not happy about this experience what so ever! Was standing beside the grill waiting, as they were quite busy, and I overheard the young blonde griller/helper with longer hair say to another "these are the type of people I absolutely hate, they came here after 8:30!" And blatantly pointed towards my father, boyfriend and I, saying this loud enough for us to hear. Sorry princess, we are from out of town and have heard great things about this restaurant, and wanted to try it out. It's unfortunate that he had this kind of attitude because he completely ruined our experience. Food was great, and despite how busy it was the other grillers did a fantastic job of our food. Won't be recommending anyone go there if it inconveniences him that much to do his job.

Our waitress Madison M came to take our drinks and that was pretty much it at the ellice location. For some reason she got our drinks (it wasn't busy) then went behind the grill to attempt to help a cook. But made conversation instead and forgot about our meals on the grill. Nobody likes burnt! I've never had this happen before, it was awkward and seemed like she was attempting to flirt. Once we needed a refill we tried making eye contact with her and getting her attention but again she was to busy hugging someone and goofing off behind the grill. I've been going here 12+ years to all 3 locations and have never had such a bad experience since today.

It was ok. My negative thoughts were the fact that they charge children $7.99 yes I know Tuesday children eat free but we came from out of town. The 2 & 4 year old in our family didn't eat $1 with of food. And even though you can stack you tiny bowl as high as you can, after it's cooked it's never send to be enough. The main reason for coming here is because my vegan daughter told me this place has the most option for her so I that's the positive.

I love mongos. The idea to build your own plate is brilliant. The most recent visit was lacking in customer service though, it wasn't very busy but our server was so busy cleaning she wasn't available when we needed her to be, and it looked as though the other workers weren't doing much of anything which was why she was so busy. I ended up helping myself to the service station and getting my table waters because we had been waiting for 10 minutes. Needless to say, we don't go here for the service.

Only place to go for the best stir fry you’ll ever have! Best meal!! Fun to watch your food being made on that unique grill! Great atmosphere, wonderful waitress (thank-you for the wonderful hospitality and service)! A little steep for price, but it was our late lunch while we were on vacation and my child loves going here!

Comparing this to the mongo's on regent, I'd say it's a much newer and nicer place. Line ups were non existent on a Tuesday! Server was friendly and prompt. Did quality was great. Unfortunately, the cooks looked tired and uninspired compared to Regent, my food and my kids dishes sat unattended on the grill far too long. Not inedible, but really they only complaint. Overall a good experience, and I will likely be back.

Great place, especially if you're in the mood to be adventurous. Essentially, you create your own meal and they prepare it on the Mongolian Grill. There is a soup & salad bar. The chicken Thai soup is particularly good and pairs well with the Mongolian concept. Desserts are not part of the all you can eat price. Beer & wine is available, but the selection isn't terribly good. Great place to take kids too. Tuesday's they eat free w/ paying adult. Out of the three Winnipeg locations, I would rate this one to be the best.

Not a huge fan of any place that doesn't serve a great burger but I gotta say that Mongo's has proven to be a very pleasant surprise for a focused eater like myself. With a bit of direction from my kids I was able to construct a stir fry meal that was quite pleasing to my palette. This was my second visit to Mongo's and I always find the staff extremely friendly, helpful and professional. Food is good and the location we visited was well maintained and very clean. Highly recommended.

Don't go here for the cleanliness, because it's not clean. Don't go for the mediocre service. Go because you've discovered how to defy physics and pack a huge amount of food into a small bowl. One tip - always add oil to your dish, so less of your food sticks to the giant round communal grill. You can also add an egg to your dish for a dollar.

I would go in person and get things right. Today, I ordered via Skip, and it was completely wrong. I ordered Chicken and Beef, got Crab and Pepperoni instead. Veggies added that weren't ordered and I didn't get my fried Rice. So what do you? Deliberately screw up Skip orders to deter customers from using delivery apps? This makes me not want to use your restaurant at all, nothing to do with Skip.

In the past I have been asked if I would like veggies meat and noodles etc from the back so there was cross contamination. This was not offered. I went with my family to this location. I got my meal off the grill and went to sit down. I was about to eat when I noticed the meat in stirfry was still raw. They took it back and recooked it. Nothing happened to about it. Charged me full price for the meal. The waitress checked on us only once which was halfway through our meal. No offer of refills. Don’t be intimidated.. it’s very easy. Pick a bowl, fill it with veggies, meat, fish, etc whatever you want and on top build a pyramid with as many noodles as you manage.. add the sauces and leave it into the grill. You can add 2 sides to choose of rice, egg, tortilla or wrap. Also there is a salad and soup bar. Good ambiance and super friendly staff. It’s quick. You can finish in less than 45 minutes. Fair price. Healthy food. There is beer and deserts.

For my birthday I requested Mongo's. I loved it in the states, but when moving here never expected there would be one. Needless to say I was very happy. We went to the Ellice location. My husband had never been, so that made it even more fun. Our server Angela, was awesome, the entire dining experience from start to finish was a solid 5 stars. Now my husband is hooked and we will definitely be returning. Great time, great service and great food.

A little tricky that they put the meat in the back so you only realize to put them on after you've put all your veggies on your plate. Good food and service otherwise. I'd say it's on the more pricy end of things for the amount of food you're getting but, you can pretty much customize it exactly like you want.

Well, just so everyone knows. They no longer honor the free birthday stir-fry. Apparently due to when it was covid!! My question is, why is it still advertised on your website!!! And really, how does it change as you are still making the stir-fry whether you pay for it or not!!!! That seems like a lame excuse. Don't think I will waste my time eating here in the future. This is a place that carnivorous and vegetarians can definitely agree upon. There is an amazing selection of meats and vegetables to build the perfect stir-fry and a soup and salad bar you can write home about. This was my first time here. My host Jacob walked me through the process and offered many helpful suggestions. With such a variety of ingredients and sauces available there is certainly something for everyone. Highly recommended.

Drinks that were ordered that never came, so we choked down our meals with no services. The cooking area was not clean. The server purposely went out of her way to avoid our table. The best part of our meal should have been the bill came so we could the hell out of there to get drinks somewhere else, but the $20 for one bowl felt like a rip-off.

I had been to a Mongo's years ago and didn't like it... so hadn't been back in a long time. My gf suggested we go to this one. I didn't want to say no to her, so I went. (This is also a different location) I was pleasantly surprised. The other one I had gone to was pretty dirty... this one was very clean. The food also tasted a lot better. Items seemed fresh. Less cross contamination.

Mongo's Grill was amazing today! Curtis, the regional manager went above and beyond by ensuring that my food was prepared with caution, as I have a sea-food allergy. Our server Jacob was prompt with drink refills and always had a smile. In a world where smiles and great service have become less and less, we were so very happy to experience grade A service. Trés Bien Team!

It's a nice place to go as a group. Make sure to take a lot of sauce and seasoning. There's nothing like too little sauce. Piling your place is a science you have to learn. For those who like spicy food, the red pepper sauce isnt really hot. You might need to add more and also cayenne pepper. Also I found the fried rice really salty. Adding it to my noodles didn't help.

Friendly staff But food ended up tasting burnt. Still very enjoyable and one of my favourite meals out

Interesting concept - you can make your own bowl of salad and grill. Pricing is for one bowl only although they do have prices available for unlimited bowl servings. You take a bowl, add the veggies, meat and sauces you want and then take it to the grill where they grill it for you. Makes for a very healthy meal. Good quality of raw food and attentive service.

Went for lunch. Very new venue. The waitress was very nice and helpful. Parking and good bus route. Food was quite good with a great variety of vegetables and meat. You have to know how to load your bowl to get the most in it, if you pay for all u can eat then you can go back for more, nice soup and salad bar. A few nice pieces of cheesecake and cake.

Expensive for the size of the bowl they give you to pick your ingredients. Long lines waiting for your food. After 20 mins, the novelty of seeing your food cooked in front of you gets old fast. That said, food is tasty, just be prepared to leave hungry. Go at non peak times.

Great food, great service, a combination of a perfect place to go out with family or friends. A variety of options to pick from and they cook in front of you in a very entertaining way!! The food was fresh and delicious! The atmosphere was my favourite part. It was very hypnotizing watching all the cooks around the grill! Seeing them throwing stuff to eachother like they've been doing it their whole life! Was so great even with my two young children they really enjoyed the food and watching the cooks!

Mongos never disappoints, the endless combinations of food that you can make is incredible. The ingredients are always high quality and the service is always friendly. Being able to add egg and rice in addition for no extra cost is great. Never had the salad bar before but I’m sure it’s just as good as the rest of it.

The best sir fry every time! The ingredients are always plentiful and fresh. The staff are always helpful and friendly and service is quick.

Mongos has dropped in quality since opening. The shaved beef they used to use seemed to be of a better quality. If you're looking to fill yourself with some okayish stir-fry by all means go grab a bite here. They also used to offer a birthday bowl but since Covid that has been cancelled. More

Its been a decade since ive been here but the food is still amazing specially if you are familiar with the flavours. Its a fun date for my husband and I. It is his first time here and he enjoyed it very well.

I did the first bowl for too hot sauce and finish, then I do the unlimited bowl for another one. Then I want to take out for possible quantity, but he serve rejected me to do that but I pay $5 more for this one. Very disappointed and will not come back again.

It was extremely reasonably priced for the amount of food you get and a huge selection of additions to add to your bowl, however, it was my first time and I didn't pick the best of toppings. Next time I won't add so many veggies and go right for the meat lol

I used to come for the Red Thai soup but they don't seem to have it anymore after YEARS of it being a favorite?? And they increased the prices... $20 for a small bowl of stir-fry? You could go to a nicer restaurant and get larger portion for the same price.

This is OK food. But the staff are bare bones. Because you do all your own work the tipping may not be what it should.

I used to love this place, but quality is dropping quicker than my noodles can burn to the grill. The grill is set too high and the cooks can't keep up, resulting in food wasted by being burned to the grill, losing half of your meal in the

Trash. It’s a cool idea in concept but they barely cook your food long enough for it to warm up. It’s never hot because that would take too long. And even if you ask for it well done, it makes little difference. I don’t think I’ll be back.

Potential to really pile up to your plate. Cool concept where you pick your ingredients and place it in a bowl. Choose your meat vegetables spices etc, sauces stand in the queue and watch them stir-fry your food with cheer and happiness.

Mangos is my go-to for healthy eating ourside the home. You're given the tools to make an incredibly fresh, balanced and delicious meal.

Assemble your own healthy stir-fry, then watch the grillers cook it to perfection. Friendliest staff at this location.
