Theres a lot of energy here for a bookstore, this is not Barnes and Noble. The space is organic, lived in, some books are completely free and the store is home to an adorable kitten as well(at least theyre a kitten as I'm writing this). This place isnt for everyone, not all the books are for everyone, but everyone is welcome and everyone will find something they like to read, or at least talk about.

Very COOL and laid back book store and meeting place, with a small but good variety of books regarding an interesting ideology/movement of a perspective of hope of a better future. They have self make and self serve tea and coffee. One could easily spend a couple of hours conversing with other clientele and volunteer staff, who are exceptionally awesome, leaving better enlightened.

It's a left wing book shop. That's all you need to say. It's a lefty book shop. And I think it's a coperative, to boot. So don't give me your libertarian "it's statist" crap. It's not a libertarian bookshop. I found the staff guy there very nice and helpful. Good selection. Support your local bookseller!

The kind of place that's so cool, it's a bit intimidating. Tonnes of zines, by donation. Very involved in their community, including a prisoner writing program, and hosting events at the shop. Small selection of interesting books upstairs, good used prices. Plus a chill store cat. Ugh, the coolest.

A unique bookstore that has a good selection of what I would describe as "activist literature." Picked up a couple good reads, and I plan to show more of my friends about it in the future. Also I hope to attend one of the many events they have coming up that are all great community outreach events.

This place was a delightful find. The proprietor was knowledgeable but not nosy. All the new books were well curated, the layout was good. The used section in back was full of interesting books and funny gems. If I find myself in Austin again after a hike to Mori point, I would drop by.

For what it is, a radical anarchist gathering place it's the best and only in the Austin area. Not much of a book store, more of a hangout. Next door to Forbidden Fruit sex shop and Vegan Nom food truck. Easy access from Burnet and Lamar, and various bus routes including 801 and 803.

Not open during hours when it says it’ll be open. Asking workers at stores next door, it sounded like this is pretty standard for them. The workers and volunteers probably should read the “No Masters, No Flakes” section of Dean Spades “Mutual Aid”

Wow! I found my favorite radical bookstore on North Loop. I visited Brave New World first and was put off by the Alex Jones conspiracy theory paranoia and Ron Paul worship tomes. Monkeywrench stirs the cockles of this old hippie's liberal heart.

So much information at your finger tips if your into that sorta thing. Also a small donation or a full donation keeps voices amd dreams alive all over. P.s. THEY have coffee and tea for donations as well ;)

Having visited various infoshops and community spaces, this visit felt underwhelming and awkward. Perhaps it was who was volunteering that day. It didn't feel very welcoming.

  • Barneby Jones

Great books and great people. For anyone who wants to know more about things that people stick their nose up in the air about, be sure to visit here.

  • Leaf M

I love this bookstore. They have some really heady books and the visiting authors are interesting also I really love the live performances.

  • Sam Keske

Little place that you'll love or be creeped out by. Slightly anarchist bent, but also championing other positive social causes.

  • Jesse Brauning

Full of borderline terrorist propaganda. I even saw a booklet for children celebrating anarchists bombers throughout history.

  • Jeffrey Scialabba

This is bookstore that supports equality and justice. Some people who have reviewed this bookstore might be offended by this.

  • John O'Neill

A small bookstore with a collection of anarchist and marxist literature. We picked up a rare and interesting book here.

  • Bruce Yockey

Highly recommended if you want some subversive suggestions! Love the vibe. More places like this are needed.

  • death by paradox

Narrow selection. More of a discussion/ meeting place than bookstore. Laid back seating area and staff.

  • Riley Pruitt

"Crowned heads, wealth and privilege may well tremble should ever again the Black and Red unite!"

  • Steve Dunn

Not what I expected. A lot of good reviews, but really underwhelming. Don’t waste your time
