"Interesting space of the library, floors 1 and 2 look beautiful"
The most beautiful library we have been in Australia. Walking into the 2nd floor immediately transport you to the past. Books on 2nd floor are available to be touched, smelled, and held. 3rd floor books aren’t as they are National Geographic collection. There are exhibitions on 1st floor too. Beware the Mortlock wing closes at the same time as the Art Gallery. Was hoping there could be like brochures/guide books so we could learn the history or the story behind the designs without having to google in on the spot, as people will definitely appreciate more when we understand.
Good libraries are a jewel in any city's crown. And the older the better. Basically the closer they are to passing as a Hogwarts location, the better. Well little old Adelaide has one of the best looking library wings around. A definite top5 underground, unknown gem of ADL, it's ideal for a nice peaceful spell away from the (albeit moderate) city hustle. A quick lunch break. Morning study session. Or entire day dedicated to leisurely reading. Mortlock is your guy.
This is such a great little spot to work from. The smell of leather bound books wafts through the hall, plenty of desks on the second level and even power points accessible via a panel on the floor. Each desk is divided by a bookshelf so you feel like you’re working in your own space. It’s fairly quiet apart from the sounds of camera shutters as it’s a fair popular photography spot. #BeatTheGrind
We arrived unannounced on Sunday to look for some info from the 1960's. Anne Marie was really generous with her time and she found our requested materials. Amazing! We were able to read and take pictures of the pages of interest in a reading room, before the books were returned to the storage area in the basement. We received 5 Star Customer Service and it was a wonderful experience.
Interesting space of the library, floors 1 and 2 look beautiful. I feel like the ground level could do with some new carpet or something. The christmas tree a delight to see as the festive season arrives.

Classic and beautiful library. Suprised at just how beautiful the library was. Must visit if in Adelaide. Hidden gem as just the photo op here should be more internationally recognised.

The architecture supersedes that of any other library in Adelaide. If you are wanting to go to a decent library, I urge you to check this marvelous establishment. You'll not only find solitude but also appreciation for just how beautiful this place really is.
Breath taking, amazing architecture and fittings. Built 1884 obviously still well used today, many students at tables around the perimeter. So historic, it oozes history of a bye gone era. Magestic.
A perfect place to be surrounded by history and an amazing architecture. A must visit.

Very aesthetically pleasing. The pictures speak for themselves. Do be considerate when visiting as it is still a functional library. …

Like something out of Harry Potter. The state library is worth a visit and this is a must see within library
Beautiful building inside and out. One of the few historic interiors still used for it's original purpose.
If you love books and libraries, this is a must-visit. The architecture in this place is truly a marvel.
