I honestly don't understand why this library has such high reviews. First of all, there are probably only two working outlets in the entire building. It's a library. People come to work and study here. There needs to be working outlets. Clownery. Second, this place resembles a nightclub most of the time. Every time I come in here there are people playing music, talking loudly on speakerphone, playing noisy games, and children running and screaming. Doesn't sound like how a library is supposed to be. The most appalling and hypocritical "rule" of them all is there is no food allowed. All other typical library etiquette goes out the window but I can't eat a taco real quick? The worst part was the "security man" came over to me, pointed at the camera in front of me, and said "you've been caught, no food in the library." Are you kidding me? What are you going to do, throw me in jail? I do not appreciate being spoken to and threatened like that. I was eating a taco sir. Maybe make yourself more useful and tell the moms to quiet down their kids.

I loveee this library, defiantly the best on the ❤ island. They truly care about the community and their staff. I also think it's pretty cute how most of the staff is either named rob or jen Also you can defiantly tell the staff trully loves their jobs, because they always smile and make sure u get what u need. ☺ I think My favorite part about this library is how much the staff cares about the Children. Not only do they have so Many activities daily ,But they also take the time to get to know each and every child by name ❤❤❤ Also I think Martha is the sweetest one of them all ❤ Rob is the cool uncle everyone wants to hang out with and pick his brain Jen is the the most amazing program organizer, andd extremely creative and funny ✨️ she is definitely the glue that brings them together and makes it all happen

OMG - I felt like I was at a Chucky Cheese. Aren't people supposed to be quiet in a library? This is the worst library, noise wise, that I have been to, ever. I could not concentrate at all. Screaming babies, kids & adults talking loud. If people want to talk, they should go to a Starbucks. Also, there is a sign that says, Please, No Food or Drinks- yet when I got there, this women was spreading a whole bunch of food on the table like she was at at restaurant. Worse library ever!

I love libraries, and this one is no exception. It doesn't have a huge selection, but it's very well organized (kids on the left, adults on the right) and plenty of reading area and computers available. The staff are kind and quick to assist, and the community is great too (no massive grumbling about a long line here). I hope this library stays for years to come.

I am a little bit of a library nerd. The events page has a permanent spot in my favorites bar. This is one of my favorite branches in the whole NYPL system. They have a good selection of books. The librarians are friendly and knowledgable. They always, always have events going on for all ages -- from tiny babies to adults.

It's my first time come here. I see people talking very loudly on the phone, chatting. Very noisy. Children can't concentrate on reading and studying, and there's no librarian in this library to control it. The library is supposed to need a quiet environment.

I am giving one star because of the security guy sitting next to door. He is nasty. He yells throughout the library at the children to put masks on. My children are afraid to go there now. that's why I had to change the branch

Wonderful clean library for kids. Huge kids section with several magnet toys, 4 computers, and of course, several colored ink printed upon processed wood with special arrangements.

Went in to print something and the staff was extremely helpful. Inflation even hit the library -- 40 cents for 2 pages. Used to be 20. Still a pleasant experience.

I also go to this place sometimes and they were easy to work with and if there’s any problems you tell the staff and they will handle the problem.

this branch IS NOT safe. there is several attempts to stole someone belongings there. the teenagers stole phones at this brunch. Not recommended.

This is my favorite library everyone is nice and kind. There is always activities for everyone. Clean and great atmosphere.

Clean and fresh. For a library it is so fresh that I wonder why not all are like this one. And that freshness helps.

Surprisingly noisy for a library but I do go here from time to time to take exams.

Sadly most NYC libraries are noisy and used for socializing. No exception here!
