Poor communication of process and lack of ownership taken by owner. As a new client - Prior to my initial consultation I sent the full history of my cat from his previous vet, requested that blood tests be ran in this appointment and specifically booked in with Dr Thiago. Upon arrival we were taken in by a different vet who told us that she fills in when Dr. Thiago takes leave and “that he never tells us when he’s taking leave”. I was never informed about this change of vet and would have rescheduled should I have been informed. Not only had this other vet not reviewed my cats history, I was charged for a full initial consultation without a proper examination (no temperature check, incorrect weight taken, no mouth/teeth check, no Auscultation) and was not properly informed of the process required to take blood work despite booking in specially for this more than a week prior and requesting this to be done. This vet attempted to take bloods however due to pain decided to give him a tablet for sedation and pain relief for the blood work to be done on the next visit instead. At no time did she give an option for full sedation or say this would be an issue. Upon my second visit with Dr Thiago, he proceeded to tell me I would have to come back a third time for my cat to be fully sedated for blood tests - telling me that the first vet did not try to take bloods when she had indeed try to take bloods. Poor communication between vets and there was no ownership on the owners behalf for my frustration of this lack of communication. I booked in for specifically for blood tests and the required process for this to be done should have been communicated prior to the first consultation. Money grabbing, time wasting and will not return. Apart from my experience with the owner the reception staff however were incredibly welcoming and friendly.

My dog Kiko has been under the care of the team at Newstead Vets for about a year. We are very happy with the care and service we received so far. Recently, Kiko felt quite sick all of a sudden and needed a last-minute emergency consult. Within half an hour of my call, Thiago was able to see my dog and run some blood tests to assess the situation. He immediately realized that my dog's liver was in a very bad state. He told me we needed to rush Kiko to the emergency straight away. After 3 days of intensive care, we were able to bring our beloved dog Kiko back home today. I cannot even imagine what would have happened without Thiago's prompt consultation and assessment of the situation. We are incredibly and forever grateful to Thiago for taking initial care of Kiko and for urging us to take immediate action. During Kiko's time in intensive care, we received daily phone calls from Thiago and Naomi so they could get updates on Kiko's condition. We were deeply touched by the care and love they demonstrated during this time. Thank you Thiago and the team at Newstead vets for being awesome!

I used to go to Greencross Teneriffe vets for convenience because they were next door to me, BUT the customer service, practice and general attitude towards me as a dog owner was overall appalling and I always walked out feeling this practice is run down and they don’t really care, so I looked for a new vet. I couldn’t be happier, from the moment you walk in, it’s clean and inviting, the staff are lovely and caring and the vet I’ve seen now 3 times is lovely. They even do free dental checks, which they said let’s wait till his vaccine and reassess, but he’ll probably need a clean and scale. So I’d budgeted for this, to be told no he seems to have gotten better and it’s not advancing as quick as I thought, let’s check him again in 36 months. They are not just a money machine like greencross was. They are actually interested in your pets wealth fare. Highly recommended!!!

Yesterday Edie and Dr Giraldo brought Desmond back from the dead after a gastro scare! Within an hour of our appointment with Dr Giraldo, Desi was eating and keeping food down & had a bit more of a spring in his step. The location is convenient with free parking next to Bunnings and Petbarn. The prices are terrific. The staff are helpful & kind. Desi loves the clinic & our annual vaccination & dental visits. We are lucky to have discovered Newstead Vets via word of mouth. Recently we moved away to the other side of the river & still travel the distance. Worth it!

After receiving a questionable diagnosis (that she had injured both her knees and needed TPLO) by another vet, I came here for a same day appointment. The staff were wonderful and the vet immediately sent us to emergency to see a specialist as he also disagreed with the diagnosis, due to the vet listening to all the information and doing an appropriate physical we were able to find out that she had Leukaemia and was suffering, without his attention, fast response, and detailed referral to the emergency centre, she would have continued to suffer. Great and kind team there.

I feel so lucky to have found Newstead Vets. The whole team is incredible and really go above and beyond when your pet is unwell. My cats are never stressed when they go to see Dr Thiago, which I think is a real testament to how caring and calm the practice is. Nurse Tori and Emelia are extremely knowledgeable and generous, and have always offered me extra advice via phone or email when I have questions. I really appreciate how seriously they take my cats’ health, and I feel very reassured knowing I can take them to Newstead Vets if I’m ever worried about anything.

Very happy about the experience. My cat had an eye conjunctivitis so took him to Newstead Vets. The front desk lady was very kind and friendly. Dr Rava was very caring, patient and professional. She gave my cat a thorough check not just the eye to make sure nothing else went wrong. The eye ointment that she gave me was so effective that the symptom of the redness was alleviated right after using the ointment. Really recommend Newstead Vets.

Can recommend these vets highly. Have started seeing them over the past year or so and they have treated our westie Alfie three times so far. The advice is always practical and transparent with no extra unnecessary tests and treatments which inspires confidence. I took my new puppy to see Dr Rava Tsing and she was absolutely incredible with my puppy. Did everything to help sooth her and make her comfortable. All the staff that I met there were also super kind and helpful answering all the questions I had (Albeit some of them rather stupid questions) 10/10 they are incredible, highly recommend.

My 2 year old cavalier has been dealing with persistent ear infections for several months, and other vets have done nothing to resolve completely. Originally went here as the GAP ONLY website mentions that is clinic is eligible. Turns out they don't do it, but still saw them and was glad I did. The team there is fantastic, super helpful and genuine. Feels like the team actually care, rather than just getting people in and out. Having recently moved to the area from down south I needed to find somewhere to support my dog Daisy's health and well-being. I have been so happy with the service and care by Dr Thiago and the team at Newstead vets. The team take their time to ensure they understand Daisy’s needs and always follow up when they say they will. I cannot recommend them enough!

I have seen both of the vets and they are knowledgeable and compassionate. I have an elderly dog and a puppy. My older dog is palliative and they are honest and do not get you spend money unnecessarily when there are limited options. They partner with you in making the best decisions for your pets. And they always are available and try to fit you in.

Recently one of our dogs has been unwell, spending 3 days at the vet and the care and communication she received was excellent. We are so grateful to have had them show such care for our girl and nurse her back to health.

The staff are all very friendly, the vets are very thorough, they take the time to discuss concerns, explain why something is or is not something to be worried about and tell you what is important to keep an eye on. Both my cats have been there and my dog has been a couple of times, all have been really great experiences and very well priced.

I arrived early with our new kitten for his wellness check and shots. The reception staff was super friendly and helpful and the doctor was able to see us right away. He was so calm and gentle with our new kitten, Max and we felt in great hands. We'll definitely be bringing our kitten here for regular care.
