"Unfortunately the clean and moderately homey atmosphere was not enough to deserve anything beyond 2/5 stars"
"This was our first time here"
"I'm very disappointed"
"Barely anything for fresh veggies in the noodle bowls, we got maybe 4 thin little slices of cucumber and carrots and a chunk of lettuce, not traditionalat all!!!"
"So we have been coming here since it opened"
Unfortunately the clean and moderately homey atmosphere was not enough to deserve anything beyond 2/5 stars. I've been here twice. The first time, I ordered the 5 color rice dish, the meat on the sugar cane "bone" was cold. Along with the store bought sausages and shrimp. The second time I dined here, I ordered the special pho. The broth came out green, murky and dark. Opposite of what you'd tend to find in other vietnamese places. The tripe and innards smelled bad and the rare beef was hard and chewy. Both times I've visited, the customer service staff were hard to find. We rang the bell several times and waited. By the 5-6th bell, a man who I assume was one of the chefs was asked if there were no longer bean sprouts served with the pho noodles, to which he answered "we don't do that here." Moments later, our waitress returned and promptly gave us the usual plate of bean sprouts and chili. If you want to come here, the bubble tea they serve is great. The atmosphere and clean open concept is wonderful. However, I would rather eat elsewhere for good vietnamese pho.

This was our first time here. We ordered their spicy peanut satay soup, one with seafood, extra vegetables and no noodles, and the other with added seafood. While the broth had a little chicken flavor, it was neither spicy nor had any peanut flavor, nor was there any vegetables at all - except some pieces of lettuce... no, it wasn't su choy or anything. We spoke to the server, and she told us it would be extra charge for vegetables. We didn't have a problem with that. We had to 'doctor' both bowls just to have any spice or flavor. By the end of us making our own soup with their ingredients- it cost us almost 30 bucks a bowl. Salad rolls don't come with peanut sauce either, so that was a bit disappointing as well. The server got our order and disappeared. My husband had to go track her down twice. We came in with our baby, and they also didn't offer a high chair, which I found unusual for a family restaurant. Overall, it was disappointing for a first time there. I left a tip as I understand how it works being a server, but I don't feel it was actually earned.

I'm very disappointed. Thought I'd try a new restarant! First off peach shrimp were small shrimp ,sauce is not mayo in a container its suppose to be sweetened condensed milk mixed with mayo . Talk to your chef! Second peanut sauce for vermicelli is peanuts with the sauce ! Pork in the shrimp spring rolls should not taste old! And vermicelli should not be all sticky stuck together . People take your business to wings for 60$ you get meals for days and not this minimal attempt to create food without taste ! Wont get my money or business again !

Barely anything for fresh veggies in the noodle bowls, we got maybe 4 thin little slices of cucumber and carrots and a chunk of lettuce, not traditionalat all!!!.... Meat was dry dry and no seasoning on the meats and not appetizing. Work wonton soup... no flavor, barely any wontons and the crab in it and scallops were disgustingly soft.Very very very disappointing. We have been coming here for over 12 years and this is by far the worst it has EVER BEEN!! Not worth the money !!!

So we have been coming here since it opened. The new management was doing well but things have changed quite a bit over the past few months. Soup was good but far less onions and the bean sprouts were not fresh and they included little flies. Still missing the Thai basil. Ice water was not refrigerated anymore and the table sauces have gotten worse. Not overly happy, as I have seen it far better

Would give a zero but can't. The food isn't good. Over priced combo plate with a small piece of chicken. Combos are supposed be $16.99 without a pop. So they tried to give me a bottle of water instead when I just wanted a cup of water. I returned that and still got charged for a drink I didn't pay for. The lady said we could have charged you tea was her rebuttal and we charged you the 19.99 because you got soup with it.

To my surprise. The place was larger than appear from the outside. Should be able to accommodate a party of 50 easily. The was great array of food selection. Most entrees are about $12. The staff was excellent. The order arrived within several minutes. The food w8as fantastic well worth the price per portion. The restaurant is very well cleaned and tables are cleaned right away. The place does lack.some ambience. Per a few plant, perhaps plastic ones. I will definitely be back and will recommend to friends and associates.
We took a chance on a restaurant we'd never been to before and the risk was worth the reward! We both had soups; and the portions are MASSIVE. We weren’t able to finish it all but the only problem there is how good it was! I couldn't decide between two and asked the server which she would recommend and she recommended I swap the broth of one with thr contents of the other! It was heaven. The staff there is so mindful and inviting and we will absolutely be back.

Their Fish tank that would normally be proudly on display at the front of the restaurant was in disarray. The tank was half full of water and the Placostamus was upside down and dead in the water, to which was the first thing I noted walking in and staff replied "oh its not dead, it's cleaning the water" it was a sad and depressing sight while eating our meal, especially when another family came in and a small kid pointed to the fish tank and asked "dad how come this fish isn't moving" Do Better guys. Do Better.
I had not been back to Noodle 42 for some time - I had a couple of sub par orders a few years ago. Decided to give it another try and was pleasantly surprised. New ownership has brought the quality back up. I ordered the Special 7 With rice. Rice was just on the sticky side, moist but not mushy. Meat was all cooked perfectly, tender and not dried out. Staff was friendly, offered sauces, cutlery with the order. Price is a touch high, and l would like to see more carrot/veg but overall a solid value.
Seemed pretty busy with walk in orders but a lot of tables open. Food was bland but okay. The service wasn’t exceptional. When I got my food The waitress was pleasant and smiling however not once did she come back to the table to see if I needed anything or if the food was OK and I had to catch the waitresses attention to get my bill not a place I think I would go back to

We had the green onion cakes to start and it was a generous portion for the price. I had the cashew chicken with a side of vermicelli noodles, it was delicious and I had lots left for a second portion. My date had one of the vermicelli bowls and enjoyed it, he also had leftovers. The service was friendly and fast, they checked on us in a fair amount of time into our meal to ensure we were happy. We will definitely be back and ordering take out!
I’ve been here before and their vermicelli bowl was really good: spicy with lots of veggies. Not this time. The veggies included broccoli and red pepper which are never in any bowl I’ve ordered: the cucumber was just the outer skin and okay a tablespoon of lettuce. And NO spice whatsoever. It’s really changed. Won’t go back, sorry

They failed to heed my express warning of peanut allergies in my household. It was good-tasting food, but I can’t order here again. This was SO careless… I called them about this immediately, and the man on the phone offered credit for the next meal……. Really? You think I’d put my family’s health in jeopardy again?…Give your head a shake!! I have to go in for a refund tomorrow on the one meal…
It was our first time and we enjoyed so much. The spring rolls were perfect, nice temperature and excellent crunchiness. The beef soup was delightful and delicious, my wife had the chicken and seafood soup and was incredible, balanced flavor. Portions were amazing, we were satisfied and the price was pretty fair. We spent almost 60. Server was nice and helpful with my questions.
Ordered the Beef Satay , bland broth , soggy noodles , meat showed up cooked even tho it wasn’t even in the broth lol My GF ordered chicken spring roll , shrimp vermicelli , shrimp was good , spring roll was good , salted rolled are great. Wonton soup was good , price point a little high . 2 out of 5

Super tasty and my skip the dishes pickup order was correct and hot when I got there. 5/5! I don't know who is giving bad reviews about the bubble tea and salad rolls because they are super delicious! It seems like we have some Karen's & Kevin's that go to this restaurant and complain about anything and everything. Those people can go eat dirt! I recommend this place!!!
Such a cute little place to sit down and have a quiet meal with friends! A friend of mine introduced us and we will definitely be back :) Thanks for such good food and bubble tea :)

I'm not sure if there is new management or new staff but the last time we were there I was not happy. The vegetables in the rice are not fresh but from a frozen bag. The noodle dish.we had also before this visit was not good. They use to have kid friendly dishes, cutlery cups. It's too bad because I did like it very much 1 yr ago
They don't give you cutlery, utensils or chopsticks. I'm staying in a hotel and now I have to find something to eat with. I'll try the other place near them and see if they give me something to eat with next week when I stay in town. This isn't judgement on the food because I haven't found anything to eat it with...
I got a rib dish with rice. The ribs were good. The ride had some hard uncooked pieces in it. It came with won ton soup. The staff was friendly. It wouldn’t be my go to for Viet in Edmonton but I would be willing to try it again.

One of the worst places I’ve been for Pho. It tasted like packaged beef broth. Noodles were soggy and old. For the vermicelli bowl the noodles were slimy. The spring rolls were super small and were 10 dollars for 5! The price was $94 for 4 people. This was with 4 regular bowls with 4 cups of water.
Chicken salad rolls, spring rolls, green onion cakes and ginger beef is bomb. always greeted instantly when walking in the door, drinking water comes immediately and food is always fresh and fast! Staff is super friendly. Ive even had food delivered through skip the dishes and its just as good!
Order medium rare pho have ordered it many many times before threw skip or pick up 20 mins later and meat is still raw soup broth now red.. in the toilet it goes restaurant says that's how it's supposed to come... I've ordered pho for over 15 years never once was it so disgusting as this
Very disappointed, the sweet and sour pork was mostly vegetables and the meat involved was cut in the size of sugar cubes and crazy over cooked(texture of a chewy crouton). O and almost no taste in the sauce. It was like they ran out of sauce and just mixed water to what ever was left.
Value for money 1 star Ordered #111 but when I got home I was so disappointed about the amount of food I got for that price. I think it is better to buy from other Vietnamese Restaurant or Chinese restaurant where I can get enough amount for the price. Sorry guys. I am unsatisfied.
Wasn't that great before the new management and hasn't seemed to change. The vermicelli bowl was slapped together. I ordered one with a variety of meats, none of which were grilled and they were all processed, loaf style meat. Low quality and not even priced to suit.
Like I’m sorry but it was so so bad only get the bubble tea if anything Cos it literally tasted like boiled food and I love pho ….

Wow, excellent food, fast friendly service. We ordered a bit too much and the waiter recommended maybe only one order of green onion cakes. We insisted, he was right, portions are a bit big and we now have yummy leftovers! We will definitely be back.
Bubble tea was average. Chicken salad roll and numbers 35 and 44 tasted and smelled like play doh..gross. would not recommend this place and especially they overprice what they are selling. Go to other places and enjoy better meal for cheaper
Sat for to long waiting to order, there were only 2 other people in there. The vermicelli bowl was expensive, the noodle I'm pretty sure were spaghetti. Didn't offer me chop sticks. The meat was pretty dry and flavorless. I won't come back.
I NORMALLY LOVE THIS PLACE BUT ever since management changed I've notice that the food is just not the same. I ordered some pho and salad rolls, the salad rolls were extremely small in portion (not like before) they barely had beef in them
I came here 4x a week up until 2 months ago. The food changed the service was not bad. I came in today and waited 15 minutes to have my order taken when there was 1 other table inside. A new table arrived and within minutes they had their
Fantastic food. You can't go wrong with the color bowls. You'll get your money's worth and then some with the sizing. Table sauce options are excellent as well. The service is always quick and helpful, I have no complaints. The building
It wasn't the same as were use to from that location. The service was poor they forgot our spring rolls. The ginger beef tasted old and nasty. The noodles were elasticy and not up to the usual standard. The beef in the soup was sub par.
The Beef curry was really soft and tender. Their serving is more than enough. Their combos in their menu were really awesome! Complete package and will really fulfill your tummy. THIS IS FOOD. Quality and healthy food indeed. …
Food was good. There's not much selection to the Pho though as other Vietnamese restaurants but they do have more variety. The place was empty though since most people order online these days or just because it was a Sunday. More
The soup smelled fishy - no fish balls ordered and even after the lemon and spices added. The salad rolls are too big and not wrapped tightly enough. More love and attention would be nice. The peanut sauce isn't authentic enough.
This place gets a five star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me for the vermicelli bowls and the iced coffee ☕️ is really delicious ‼️ Amazing staff to so that’s a Bonus‼️♂️ And don’t hurt to watch a lil bit of “days of our lives”.
Very sweet drink, and good prices. I can't say it's very tasty, but the staff was polite and pleasant. Overall, the score is average.

I liked the salad rolls. Their Pho Dac Biet was a bit different on the taste. More lemony and beefy taste, but as I tasted it more it was alright. Prices is average for the quantity.
The service is slow considering it was a Tuesday night and the restaurant was empty. The food was plentiful but the pork was dried out. 3.5 out of 5.

Me and my family have been coming here for as long as I can remember. Best place to always come and get a bite. Very welcoming and always gracious hosts. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT.
This is my go to place for my pho cravings. Food is always delicious and I have dined in and ordered through skip the dishes many times. Staff is welcoming. More
Nice restaurant and customer service. Enjoyed their noodles, exactly what I was looking for, right spice, and all. Staff also respectful, and polite every time.
Food is very tasty. I will highly recommend this restaurant. Friendly staff and chef. I will keep on coming back here for dine in and take out.
It was not busy at lunch time and the service is not that great! However the food is not too bad. The place is pretty neat and tidy.
