XO’s non-traditional take on Vietnamese cuisine, and moody but minimal Art Deco interior come together for a unique, delicious and memorable experience. To start we ordered the Oxtail Fries and Pork, Chicken, Shrimp, and Beef Skewers with Sesame. For entrees we ordered the large Bun Bo Hue (spicy lemongrass beef broth and thick rice noodles) and the Combo #3 Rice Bowl with pork. The oxtail fries were TOOOOO good, the fries on their own are great but in combination with the oxtail gravy, jammy egg yolk and green onion — it was delectable! The skewers was also amazing! The smokiness of each meat is to die for and totally worth the splurge (as it’s $3-4/skewer and they’re kind of small). The meats also pair super well with the peanut-curry sauce on the side. The Bun Bo Hue was super yummy, and HUGE! Definitely fit for two. I’ve never had this kind of broth before, but I enjoyed how fresh the lemongrass flavour was. The thick noodles were also really enjoyable. Surprisingly, the rice bowl ended up being my favourite dish! It was such a wonderful medley of flavours. The veggies were really fresh, the meat brings in that smoky element and their fish sauce takes it to the next level. On a separate occasion, for takeout I tried the Spicy Salted Egg Yolk Prawn. While this dished was very expensive and arguably overpriced ($22 for 4 shrimp ) — the shrimp and side salad was BUSSINNNN. The flavour of the shrimp is really unique, and I would honestly order the salad on its own it was that good! Given the price, quality of food AND ambience — XO Bistro is a really gem. Beyond their impressive menu, they also have: a private dining room, heated outdoor patio, massive luxe booths, a wicked drink menu, and it will be open till 1 AM starting in May… it’s giving enjoyment, and I can’t lie, XO Bistro might have made its way onto my favourites list!

I was very surprised with the food. Usually fusion cuisine would be pretentious and not that good. However XO bistro has done a great job. I liked the appetizers: salad rolls and skewers (beef). The salad rolls is any Vietnamese salad roll but there is a crunchy element in the rolls that gives it a unique texture. This surprised me as I was expecting a typical salad rolls. It was really good that I highly recommend anyone who likes salad roll to order this one. Next the beef skewers was good too. Perfectly char of beef on a skewer with peanut sauce. The peanut sauce reminds me of my parents' friend from Malaysia whenever we visit their house. I ordered Pho the works. The broth was hearty and has the perfect amount of sweetness. Even the rice noodles was cooked perfectly with good amount of bite. The meats is good as does not have that leftover smell unlike other Vietnamese restaurants. I recommend adding bean sprouts and Thai basil to the soup to enhance the flavour of the soup. The dish I am disappointed is the spring rolls. You can order spring rolls at any Vietnamese restaurants. Even Old Fashioned drink was okay... seems a waste of cinnamon stick for this one drink. I think Earls version of Old Fashion taste alot better. I would come back for salad rolls, skewers, and Pho the works! Good job.

We had my sister’s birthday here. Food was decent, a couple menu items a bit overpriced, but livable. The forced 18% gratuity was a major turn off and was not told to us when we booked the reservation! I have always been a generous tipper as I was once was a server myself, but to force gratuity is wrong and shows entitlement! Gratuity should always be left in the hands of the patron and should be earned by the server, no exception! Service was ok, but nothing to write home to mom about! The placement where we were seated was a poor choice as there was a group of men in an open room next to us watching a football game. I have been out with the boys and understand things get exciting and sometimes vulgar, but to place a family of 11 with a 9 and 7 year old and a new born next to them, while they are yelling profanities was a very poor choice in seating! We prefer to give our business to businesses that earn our patronage and not feel entitled and are more attentive to our needs and situation! We will never return to this place again!

Had a reservation for a party of 6, as soon as we walked in the waiter told us there is an auto 18% gratuity. We ordered drinks, beef skewers, and Pho. After waiting an excessive amount of time for them, the skewers came out COLD. After bringing this to their attention, they said all we can do is throw them in the microwave. I find it absolutely appalling that after waiting that long for cold skewers, they have the audacity to tell us we won't remake them we'll just microwave them?!?!? There was no manager on duty (most probably the reason why the service is so terrible). We decided to just ask for the bill and go somewhere else. And after all that they still made us pay for the cold skewers and we were forced to pay the 18% gratuity. I'm no expert but I believe that tip is a reward for exceptional service not just a complimentary extra dollars. It's really sad to see how poor service has become when you know you're making that automatic gratuity. Never coming back.

I came in to enjoy some of the beef skewers, and a beef/chicken vermicelli bowl. I was delightfully pleased by the quality of the meat, delectability of the sauces, and how traditional the sauces and seasonings selected were, but also the slight twist added onto each dish to make it have a unique flair. The service was impeccable, and my server Zaina added a calm, kind touch, and a sweet smile to every interaction we had. This was a much needed experience after a long road trip, and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who has a passion for viet food. 10/10 :)

We came in on a Saturday night by chance, and so glad we did. We ordered green onion cakes, loaded pho, sate pho, and the shaking beef. Their pho broth is very tasty; my husband added tendon, and there were 4 good sized, tender pieces in the bowl. Sate was very tasty, but the broth was not as thick as at other places we've tried. The shaking beef was exceptional! The dressing on the watercress salad is delicious, the beef was super tender, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The tomato rice was tasty as well. We'll definitely be back, especially since they're easier to access than the restaurants in Currents of Windermere.

Hosted my 30th birthday at XO. Everyone enjoyed the food and the venue was perfect to hold a birthday! The Owner and Staff were very accommodating to everyone and so friendly. I highly recommend this place whether you are looking for a place to host a event or just to enjoy a good meal.

We really like coming here. The food has always been great and the service really good. We had the satay pho with meat balls and the regular beef pho. Both are delicious and the quality of the meat is actually good. Could be spicier but they do give hot sauce if you ask. The only thing they could do to improve would be to use real reusable chop sticks instead of the one time use bamboo ones. The ones they use are too short for the size of the bowls and are just uncomfortable to use.

Not your typical Vietnamese menu. They have some dishes that you won't see on other menus in Edmonton. We had the pho with rare beef and the sizzling beef and eggs with a baguette. The price on the pho is a couple of dollars higher than at other Vietnamese restaurants in town, but the quality of the food was good. But the eggs were slightly overcooked and one yolk broken. The premises were clean and service good. Planning to return to try some other intriguing sounding dishes.

We have been looking for a great bowl of Pho since our favorite place closed years ago. Today we decided to head down the street and give this place a try and I have to say, I'm so happy to finally have pho that completely hit all those spots! It was fantastic and for the price, you get a lot. My boyfriend got the large and I couldn't help buy laugh at how massive it was. Picture of the bowl with a glass for scale. We will be regulars and they can take all my money! Service was also exceptional! Great experience
First time ordering out. I received my food which was displayed beautifully...without the rice breaking it's round shape. That's pretty good considered it was delivered to me from a distance. Update - Sept 11/23. Dined in for the first time on a quiet Monday. Food was delicious and service was great.

Food is just ok... doesn't taste authentic. Pho lacks flavor. I've tried several dishes here such as the banh mi, pho, ox tail fries, vermicelli bowl and you get can better tasting food at a cheaper price else where. Only thing original here is the ox tail. Service was friendly and restaurant is nice. I gavd it a few tries but prob won't return for food anymore.

I had an excellent lunch here in the slow afternoon hours, and would be more than excited to come here when it’s more busy and upbeat. I love the vibe with the huge cherry tree. Also LOVE the individual bathroom stall rooms, hardly ever see anything like that. Some of the dishes are unique, like Pho Beef Dip, which was delicious by the way. The fries were a bit boring and wouldn’t really care for them again, but overall the food was delicious.
This was a difficult one for me. I’m a tradition Vietnamese soup guy. I ordered the BBH. And at first I though man $17 dollars. That’s high. Then I got the bowl and thought man that’s not a big bowl at all. Then I tasted it. And WOW. Was blown away with the broth , presentation and enormous flavour. I look forward to trying the house bowl of pho and making this a 5 star experience. Yes a bit higher in price but worth it. The quality is there.
Such a relaxed dining experience. One of those places with warm hospitality, good food, reasonable prices, and a pleasing ambience. We ordered Good morning Vietnam (one of the best cocktails I have ever had), BBH the works (pretty good), Sate Pho (I didn’t have that), skewers (pork skewers were exquisite). Spice level was mild, less than what I prefer. Parking is easily available. We did make a reservation. Thank you, Clayton for the service.
This is truly one of my favourite places to eat!!!! I have tried multiple drinks on their menu. My absolute fav is their ‘good morning Vietnam… I have tried their spring rolls, salad rolls. Pho soup their rice paper spring rolls. Viet beef carpaccio absolutely exquisite. Plus shake it beef cubes Love love this place, the staff, the atmosphere and its absolutely aesthetically pleasing to anyones eyes
Really awesome spot. I haven’t found a really good bowl a pho outsider of pho hoan Pasteur here in Edmonton. There are good places but just not elite. This place is elite and the atmosphere of the place is great. Good appetizers too. Enjoyed the ox tail poutine and the fries were Costco food court quality and anyone who’s been to Costco knows the fries are great. New go to place for me.

I booked this restaurant for a private event and it was great! Mai helped me curate a special menu and gave me some recommendations on what would be the best items to include for my party. She was very responsive during the whole process and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The party was a huge success, I definitely recommend booking this restaurant for any special occasion!

It was always good food, but I wished my oxtail fries had more sauce and the oxtail too. It wasn't enough and I was disappointed. The downtown location gives more than them. At least our server was nice to us. We have to take our parents to let them try it because we have been bragging how good it is, but wished we went to the one in downtown location instead.

I absolutely LOVE Xo Bistro and am SO happy they opened a south location. Their Vegan Pho is the best in the city, hands down! That being said, it's super frustrating that I just got home with a takeout order and for the THIRD time they've put chicken in my Curry Veg w/tofu. Argh. I'd love to give 5-Stars but am getting disappointed with the lack of attention to detail when it clearly states tofu on my receipt.
Best Vietnamese restaurant I’ve been too. Authentic. Really good Pho. Amazing egg yolk shrimp. Green onion cake so good.

Clean modern restaurant. Service is very friendly and attentive ( Brianna). The food was excellent and came out fast. Enjoyed the spicy beef soup ( Bun Bo Hue) and the grill chicken vermicelli was very tasty, perfectly seasoned and tender. Generous with meat portions. Lots of parking since it's in a new plaza

This is an online review as I've ordered food from XO Bistro. Their food is pretty good. The one meal I ordered, the rice quantity felt a little bit small, but the food overall is cooked well. They should have more beverage options on the Skip app to choose from as there weren't a lot of options variety wise. Good overall I would say though.

Good reliable restaurant. A bit noisy and open cafeteria feeling but always good as a lunch option. Bun bo hue always good, vermicelli bowl has a bit of everything and always fresh. The curry bowl was only lukewarm and rice was a bit hard.

First visit on May 2022, but I have heard many good things of it. Salad rolls are great. Pho is above average. My daughter had vermicelli bowl with grilled chicken. She was happy with it.
AMAZING flavours. Super clean. Menu has some really unique dishes. Best Vietnamese food I’ve ever had! Pictures are for the Banh Mi, Ox tail gravy, and sate Pho. Great job XO Bistro!
