Dr Jackson is incredible with animals and their people. She will give you all of the information you need, without judgement, to make the best decisions for your pets. She is extremely knowledgeable- ahead of the pack, even. If she doesn't know something (ie. about a very rare presentation of cancer), she will contact the international vet network to try to find answers. If she can get you a medication for cheaper at a pharmacy, she will happily recommend you to go that route, rather than buy it from her (unless you want to). She does not push unnecessary procedures, products, or practices, and I found her services to be more affordable than at most clinics, despite the over-and-above service she provides. I found her when my cat needed a surgery, after calling around to a dozen clinics, she was 1 of only 2 that was willing to use xrays from the emergency vet, taken only the night before. Every other vet required I spend another $300 to take more xrays. It was unfortunate circumstances that made me find a new vet, but in 15 years since my cat's accident, I have been 100% certain that she is the best vet in the city. My fur babies have all loved her. I have lost 2 dogs to cancer and she and her team showed incredible compassion and support after the diagnosis, right up until the end. The ladies at the front desk are equally wonderful and have answered many a stupid question on my part with patience, compassion and professionalism. I cannot say enough good things about her or her team.

Our family switched vets last year as we felt that before being recommended to Northgate Vet Hospital, every time we took one of our small dogs in with a concern, the bill was $500 or more. Our family understands the obligations that come along with having pets and takes care of all our our pets. Since switching to Northgate Vet Hospital, the care and attention of our pets has increased, and the prices have decreased. The vets are very experienced and. Further, the vets and staff are very friendly and helpful. Today when I took our dogs in with a concern, not only were the concerns addressed, but the vet also treated it as the dogs' annual check up which was due next month. That meant that our dogs had a good thorough check up, and our family paid to have the concerns addressed while also having a check up. That felt fair to our pocket book.

Dr Nikiforuk has been our Veterinarian for decades now. Every dog we have had has seen her and we love her and so do our dogs!. Her gentle ways and excellent care is exceptional. Prices are reasonable and never have I ever felt she suggested a test or treatment without merit. Her passion and compassion has helped us through emergencies, loss and every day care of our beloved pets. I highly recommend this Veterinary office. The girls at the front desk also deserve recognition for their knowledge, friendliness and professionalism . People complain often of how much a Vet costs....please give thought to how much your medical care costs ( we have AHC and insurances) and you will realize pet care is much less. I can tell you these Vets are not in it for the money!

I have been taking my Great Pyrenee to Northgate Vet since I got her at 3 months old, being 1 year old now. Today I called in asking for a copy of my dog’s vaccinations as an emergency because I am out of town and didn’t have them with me, and there was still 2 minutes left before they close but the lady said “I can’t do that we are closing in 30 seconds, I can have the girls send it to you on Monday” even though I said it was needed last minute today. I get that we are all tired at the end of our shifts and can’t wait to go home, but I am offended by them not being able to spare two minutes of their day to send me an email when I need the most, considering I am was a regular client. Definitely will not be returning, just lost a client.

Best vet I have ever been to! I called and they booked me in within an hour. The vet was very thorough and noticed issues other vets have missed. She explained things really thoroughly. She also gave me suggestions for my dog's dental health to deal with tartar inexpenively on a regular basis, rather than just offering yet another expensive teeth cleaning, which shows that she cared about my dog's wellbeing more than just getting as much money out of me as possible. I left the visit staring at the receipt in shock, for the opposite reason I usually have when leaving a vet-- it was so cheap this time! I will definitely keep going to this vet in the future.

This is my regular vet office. I have 3 rescued cats, 1 approx 15yrs old and 2 approx 1yr old. The senior has heart disease, one of the young ones has lissencephaly and takes anti seizure meds, the other young one seems to have gastro issues. We have had many visits to this vet office over the last 5 years due to the many health issues our cats have. The admins are pleasant, the vets are knowledgeable and take the time to answer questions. Everyone that works here genuinely loves animals, they have gone out of their way to squeeze in appt for my cats when we have had emergencies. Definitely recommend.

Amazing vet! the staff are extremely nice and patient. Super helpful and if I ever need to get him in for checkups if he isn't feeling well, they will always try to get him in asap. I have been going here since I got my puppy Bao and they are very patient with him because he is very timid/shy especially with new people and new environments. They allow him to warm up to them before they start the actual appointment (even playing with him!). 10/10 would recommend going here if you need a permanent vet :)

Staff are incredibly knowledgeable, thorough and handled my animals with true care and compassion. Our family was looking for a new long-term vet as our closed permanently due to covid we assume. We called Northgate veterinary hospital for 2 of our senior animals so far and they took us on as new patients no questions asked. Both veterinarians are absolutely wonderful and they have shown us they are trustworthy in front and behind closed doors. We will definitely be back thank you truly.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The vet is great and answered all my questions. She guenuinaly cares for the animals not just getting paid. I love coming here with my cat and my dogs and have absolutely 100% confidence here. Services and competitively priced and certainly does not break the bank. There are a couple of cats that roam around and love to be pet. Very clean interior. They also mail appointment reminders or reminders to book another appointment. Highly recommend!!

I love this clinic. They were the vet for my beloved German Shepard her whole life, and were with us when we had to put her down. They are very understanding and you can tell they have a genuine love for animals. I now bring my Husky cross and miniature dachshund there, and the staff are great with big or small dogs. I can always count on them in an emergency to be attentive, courteous and supportive. I have gone to other vets and would definitely say Northgate is by far the best.

Brought my cat here for check-up and vaccines. Reception was very helpful as I required minor medical assistance after my cat scratched me on the way in. Truly impressed with Dr. Mahony, who was knowledgeable, super friendly, compassionate and just had a magic way about her with my apprehensive cat. She went out of her way to answer all my questions and listen to my concerns. And the clinic has very reasonable pricing! The only thing that I didn't like was no public restrooms.

Brought our adopted guinea pig for a general check up (potential diabetes). Both visits were excellent as staff handled our family member well. Dr. Nikiforuk was knowledgeable and gentle in handling Jasper. The fees were not bad, I was a bit surprised that I didnt have to pay more than 50$ for each visit as other clinics would charge twice the said amount. I would recommend this clinic esp to families with exotic pets. Im glad we went to this clinic the first time. :)

My cat had ear mites and they told me the medication was useless unless I treated all the animals in the house. Instead of just writing me three prescriptions they wouldn’t give me the other two unless I brought them in and a 30$ prescription each was now gonna cost me 400$ for a check up. They didn’t tell me this until after I already paid for the medicine for the first cat and they charged me 260$ for him.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. They are charging me DOUBLE for my cats asthma medication. Thats a $72 difference. They are holding my file until i pay that before i can transfer it to another hospital. I guess my baby is the only cat with asthma there who uses the liquid medication.Tough for a senior. It won't be my cats who will suffer this month. It will be me.

Very good veterinarian hospital and doctor. Very friendly. Genuinely concerned for your pet and their care. Has a personal homey feeling when you're there. Definitely recommend to anyone. Have been to several other veterinarian hospitals and this one is as good if not better than the others.

How do you people live with yourselves. $130+ for 1 rabies vaccine, that's per cat! No doubt the dog rabies vaccine must be $150+. Most outrageous prices I've ever come across in this whole city. Guess they only cater to the rich. Save your money people, go somewhere else more affordable.

This clinic has seen three of my cats and were very realistic about not ordering tests 'just because' and were very accurate. Both vets I would recommend and the staff have been very kind. They are a small clinic but have the friendly service I look for in a clinic.

Removed a tumor from my cat, I was extremely nervous, the level of care and consideration was reassuring and he came through the anesthesia fine and is walking around like he was previously.. Definitely recommend for those looking for a more personal touch.
