I’ve been coming here for about 5 years and I highly recommend it. The location is super convenient and there’s always been parking for me in the lot out front. It’s easy to schedule (though for the doctor of your choice may be about 3 weeks out) and the front desk staff is great. The techs are always wonderful as well, they’re gentle and you can tell they enjoy their work and workplace. I see Dr. Heeren and she’s absolutely amazing, she’s so kind and gentle with my cats and they’ve been more relaxed around her than any other vet. She’s also very compassionate and knowledgeable. You can tell she cares about her little patients by the way she works with them. Sometimes vets can be a bit cold and seem burned out or just want to charge you for unnecessary things but I’ve never experienced that with Heeren. I don’t know if I’m lucky but I always arrive a bit early and they put me in a room immediately so I can release my stressed out cat. They knock before entering to ensure your pet doesn’t have the opportunity to dash out. I had a medical emergency last year with my elderly diabetic cat and wasn’t sure if I should go to the emergency vet. I called NWVH and they made every effort to squeeze me in to get a blood sugar check the next morning and worked closely with me trying to get him in (even though I had to cancel last minute due to logistics and reschedule again). However, in a true emergency you will not be able to schedule here same day, but they do have recommendations for emergency hospitals. Pricing is really high, but I’m not sure what’s average for pets in the city without insurance. My cats annual exam cost me about $450 for blood work, urine test, vaccines, and a nail trim. The techs always discuss price with me before doing anything and they review the charges with you afterwards. Unfortunately they now charge a fee to use credit cards, but a debit card will get you around from that fee. Overall, this has been a wonderful place to get care for my pets over the years. I feel completely supported by them and I’ve never ever had an issue with any of them being rude or unkind or judgmental. I highly recommend this vet.
I love this clinic. Dr. Heeren is so incredibly wonderful and caring. I had to take my vizsla pup, Chaco in many times because he kept breaking out in bumps all over his body. Dr. Heeren was so helpful and caring. She took my financial costs into consideration when looking at treatment options and actually had a conversation with me instead of just prescribing something and leaving. Yesterday sweet pup had just gotten back from the dog park and was having really scary symptoms. My husband and I had no idea what to do so we stopped by NW vet for help. Dr. Heeren opened up a room for Chaco to give him a quick exam and concluded that we needed to see the emergency vet. It was really helpful for us to hear from her first before heading straight to the emergency vet. Our pup LOVES going into this clinic. He gets so excited for the staff at the front to greet him. The front staff are beautiful caring individuals who truly care about your pet and not just about the logistics of appointments and payments. I would recommend this clinic to anyone. <3 Thank you for being so wonderful!
Always happy with Northwest! Friendly, efficient staff. Helpful and proactive in scheduling appointments, answering questions, replying to emails. It’s obvious NW employees and vets genuinely care about their clients, both people and pets. I especially appreciate NW for fitting us into their very busy schedule on short notice when we are having a problem. In these times, it is such a relief to be seen at our regular vet instead of spending many stressful hours waiting at the emergency hospital. Thank you! NW has a clean, comfortable and lively facility. It’s nice to be able to go inside again. 12/23 update-Northwest continues to rock. We have two new rescue cats-one young (started semi-feral) and one geriatric with Manx syndrome. NW has been super re exams, neutering, dental and general issue-sorting for our new family members. Thank you!
Truly cannot say enough good things about these folks. We recently started going to northwest vet hospital after a bad experience with another vet clinic in town. My dog is just about a year old and still getting used to being around/handled by strangers. Everyone here - from the vet techs to front desk staff to Dr Heeren - are always so kind, helpful and patient even though right now is an incredibly stressful time to be working in a veterinary clinic. Since you aren’t allowed to go in with your pet any more, the vet tech today brought out the bordatella drops and canine flu shot so I could help keep my dog calm and he did amazing! Highly highly recommend if you have a nervous pup or just want your pets to be well taken care of in general.
Do you have cats? Do you worry about taking them to a vet who "gets cats" and provides quality care? Take them here. My kitties have been seen by Dr. Spencer and Dr. Thompson, and I have nothing but good things to say about them. They are always calm, kind, compassionate, and patient. The staff is always professional, polite, and I have never had them surprise me with pricing or procedures. They're great and if I could never switch vets for the rest of my life, I'd be thrilled. My cats don't love the car ride but once they're in the exam room, they're happy to explore and cuddle up with the vet, which I think says a lot about the general *vibe* of the vets here.
I started going to this clinic last year. Everyone who works there is so kind. I just got a dog and they treat him so well. Anytime I had a question about my dog's treatment, I could talk to one of their vet techs in the same day. They'd even call to check in over the week after prescribing treatment. They're incredibly responsive over email. They help me work with my pet insurance. The vets and vet techs are all very knowledgeable and are able to explain my dog's issues in a way I can understand. Overall, I'm so grateful to this staff for how well they treat my animals.
I have been going to NW Vet and sister clinics for nearly 2 decades. Whether adopting a new puppy, teenager, a few senior dogs, and a unique stray alley-cat, or routine care, minor issues or ER scares, recoveries, or too many euthanasia’s, I have entrusted my furry loves confidently in your care. I value your dedication, professionalism, expertise, care, and compassion. A million woofs and meows of thanks for all you do. The entire staff is valued & noticed.
As a first time dog owner as a single person I have been so happy with Northwest Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Spencer has been so great. She answers all my questions and doesn't rush me at all. She is reasonable in her advice and definitely has my puppy's health as her first priority. The techs are all really great and treat my puppy as well as I do. The office is so responsive and answer emails really quickly. I appreciate the service and professionalism.
Everyone at this vet clinic is amazing! Even though we moved farther away, we still drive our cat to this clinic rather than finding one closer. Everyone -- from the front desk to the techs to the veterinarians (we mostly work with Dr. Whereat, who is wonderful) -- is so kind, professional, and exceptional. They take the time to explain things, and you can tell they truly care about their patients. Thank you all for taking such great care of our pet!
We have been taking our pets to NW Vet since 2020 and they are always welcoming, quick to answer questions and return calls, and clear on billing. When our cat was in kidney failure this spring they were very accommodating scheduling 3 visits the same week and very kindly and transparently talking through treatment options, out come odds, and billing. They are a great team and we will be trusting our pets to them as long as we're in Seattle
We had a great experience at Northwest Veterinary tonight with Dr. Heeren and the whole staff. After debating a switch from our previous vet who made us feel like they cared more about selling us products and supplements than about the care of our dog, we are so glad we made the change. Dr. Heeren was very knowledgeable, and made us feel totally comfortable with the care Bogey is receiving. We won't be going anywhere else!
Very much appreciate the professionalism, competence and caring shown to pets and owners. We are so impressed by everyone--from the veterinarian, the vet techs to the receptionist. Our pet was treated as well as any human patient can expect. Thank you, thank you and thank you. This is so impressive because we were stressed to begin with but the caring and acceptance of our condition sure helps.
Dr Heeren is the nicest, most caring, and down to earth veterinarian we have ever experienced. She takes great care of our cats, and is also very considerate and respectful of the pets’ humans. Her approach is going one step at a time, and does not suggest unnecessary, costly procedures, which has been the case elsewhere. Between Dr Heeren and her excellent staff, our cats are in great hands!
I always recommend Northwest Vet Hospital to my friends and neighbors. I appreciate the care the vet staff give to both of my kitties. Due to COVID, I never got to meet the vets performing the check-ups, which made communication a bit difficult. Thankfully, we are now able to be in the clinic room again. Overall, I'm happy with this vet and plan to keep using them for my kitties' care.
Dr. De and her assistant were efficient, thorough, and kind at a recent last-minute office visit. The front office staff was equally welcoming and efficient. I also appreciated the response to emails and checking in with me the following morning to see how my dog was doing. Have been coming to Northwest Veterinary Hospital and seeing Dr. Heerin for many years.
I really appreciated how kind everyone on staff was to me and my cat through the whole process! They were super kind and prompt when I needed to book an appointment, and they were super kind and prompt at the actual appointment. I loved how loving everyone was with my kitty- he loved the attention too. :-) Definitely recommend!
It took a while to get an appointment (common in Seattle). They had good covid-19 prevention policies. My senior cat who doesn't like vets was calm during the appointment, which speaks to the bedside manners of the vet. The vet tech was friendly and relayed the messages. Good experience and great care at this vet.
Can't speak highly enough of NVH after our first visit. The vet was professional, kind, and thorough with our dog and got her the care she needed. The front office provided great communication and appointment reminders. The prices were very fair and reasonable, less than I've paid at other offices in the area.
We were worked in on short notice & everyone was so kind, from the front desk, to the doctor, to the techs. I like to stay with my dogs through all procedures. Even though they didn’t know me, they did everything in the exam room with me there. This is something that I appreciate so much. It meant a lot to me.
Took our rescued dog here for his teeth operation. Staff was friendly and they did a good job with the poor dog (he was abused and we found him half-dying at a park). He was injured (vet thought he was repeatedly punched in the face), and the vet here took care of him. He is now a happy pup!
We love Northwest Veterinary Hospital! The staff are always so helpful, communicate extremely well, and most importantly make Eggs feel welcome. He's a reactive dog, so I am so grateful to have found somewhere that continues to make him feel safe.
I recently moved to the area and needed a lump on my dog checked out. They were the closest to me and I had heard good things so I called and made an appointment which was super quick and easy. Every appointment I’ve had since then has been
We've been with this practice for about 15 years now, first with cats and now with a dog we adopted 6 months ago. The staff here are highly professional and prompt, pragmatic and compassionate in their diagnosis and advice, and generally a
I love how easy it is to get ahold of the providers at this veterinary hospital. They are always so helpful and we get our issues with our puppy taken care of usually within the same day or no more than 3 days. I know it has been a crazy
I’m always so happy with the care and attention that everyone gives to me and my cat when we come in. Vet visits can be so stressful, especially when your pet is sick, and the staff are consistently kind and helpful during these times.
Dr. Thompson is knowledgeable, kind, very patient, and nonjudgmental. We also love the techs and staff! Everyone is always happy to help us, answer our questions, and provide us with resources and support whenever needed. We appreciate
We love the Vets, Techs and Staff at Northwest Veterinary Hospital. They are all responsive, kind, smart, pro-active and so helpful in helping us be the best caregivers for our dog. Since caring for our senior dog and helping his final
NW Vet Hospital rocks!! I love that they (at least act as if) they know my pet when I bring her in. I feel so comfortable handing her over to them, knowing she can be a bit cantankerous. Dr. Whereat made me laugh when she stated on a
We have been here now for 2 separate visits with our cats. We have had great experiences so far, with very kind, patient and knowledgeable staff. It was very cute when they complimented our cats- they know how to make the owners feel
Dr Heeren is so gentle and patient with our elderly dog, and she has given him excellent care. Everyone we've encountered at Northwest Veterinary Hospital has been very kind and welcoming. Our dog loves to go here!
My dog got sick three times with bloody diarrhea and every time they did a fecal test, the result was "negative". Negative of what?? Waste of $67. Such a scam. One time she caught it from visiting this place.
Literally the best vet we’ve ever had. They’ve taken such great care of our dogs and always keep us informed with a good dose of kindness from every person we experience. Can’t recommend them enough!
Responsive. Communicative. Caring. I have had three pets receive care from Dr Whearat at this clinic. Two cats. One dog. I have always felt respect from Dr Whearat and her team! Highly recommend!
Responsive, kind, helpful! Shoot it to you straight and don’t make up stuff for money. Efficient. We feel very taken care of from every vet and vet tech, including the amazing front desk !
Dr. Heeren and her assistant were both incredible! Dr. Heeren was so good, kind, gentle, caring, and thorough with my somewhat finicky small pup. We love Northwest Veterinary Hospital!
Our dogs are treated like part of the family here. The staff have been great and the doctors have always made time to answer questions and explain their observations.
I’ve taken my cats to NW for several years and have always had excellent care. The entire staff is friendly and compassionate. The veterinarians are outstanding.
Fast, competent service. Vet was very considerate of my dog, and staff were nice and efficient. All in all, I was very happy, and would use them again.
Vet tech was wonderful with my dog! She also told me what to expect and how my dog reacted. Very professional and kind.
Professional, efficient and thorough (and kind!). I appreciate all these things. Thank you for taking care of our dog!
