The giant is awake ..... This is Melbourne, East Malvern, quiet sleepy suburbia, wintry weather, big park, activities but nothing much open on the weekends ..... well that was the late 80's when we were living there. These days, there are a few cafe around to cater for your weekend coffee and brunches, this establishment is probably be one of the premier destination judging by the crowd in the morning. It's perfectly located, on the main road, near the junction, just across the Central Park. Renovated older building, homely set up, two storey dining area plus the back and front footpath. Serious coffee set up, Synesso and Proud Mary coffee beans combo. Brunch Menu is solid too, enjoyed my Corn Fritters so did the rest of our group. Enjoyable Sunday brunch, even better now the giant is awaken.
Be prepared to bring that credit card as this place is not cheap. It cost $76 for my wife and I and our 5 year old. We eat out every Saturday and Sunday morning and this bill has been by fair the dearest. The food is ok, nothing special to mention. The service was excellent with the floor staff being very attentive and pleasant. There are various sweet cakes on offer although they are small and expensive. Especially once you see what next door offer. If you are still keen to go then try and get seated down stairs as upstairs is a little stale feeling. Also make sure your a dog lover as people sitting out the front of the strip of shops bring them over from the opposite park. It's a busy place but IMO there are many much better Cafe's in the area.
Meals were completely overpriced, with key ingredients minimal in order to stretch the number of dishes sold. Despite being named a "Korean beef salad", the dish contained a grand total of three pieces of beef. The "croquette(s)" also faced a similar problem, with the menu clearly dictating multiple croquettes, rather than the singular that we received for $21. Although we arrived well before 12:30pm, it seemed that Our Kitchen Table was not adequately prepared for the amount of lunches sold. The conclusion that I can draw from my disappointing experience is that they stretch key components and underserve to deceive their customers.
Our Kitchen Table was an extremely well-respected and popular establishment, praised for an incredible quality of coffee, food and service. After changing owners, the recipes have changed and are, unfortunately, substantially worse than the originals. The coffee and service are still great, but the food is average at best. If you've never been here, know that the old reviews are for dishes that no longer exist. If you've been here before, prepare to be unfortunately disappointed.

Quite popular as you will notice the locals flood the establishment, despite the strong competition in the area. And for good reason - as regulars, we are happy to vouch for the consistency of Our Kitchen Table. The staff have been amazingly accommodating to any diet or situation changes. The variety is aplenty ranging from freshly made Cafe-style edibles to healthy sandwiches and salads. Our coffees also have been consistently good, with fast service even in peak brunch times. Feeling like a delicious chicken vegetable pie or toasted Turkish sandwich? OKT is the place.
The best coffee in Melbourne! Such a nice coffee blend, made to perfection by any of their baristas. The food is also amazing, we've tried a few of their breakfast and lunch options and have loved everything we've tried. Also a great selection of little cakes and baked goods for a snack on the go, as well as a fridge stocked with homemade meals and snacks for you to enjoy at home. The best part of OKT is their friendly staff who are always extremely welcoming and hard working. Best part of my morning!
Had a quick lunch with my partner there and it was brilliantly delicious I had the baked eggs and the egg yolks were quick runny, but I love it this way! Partner had chicken sandwich and he enjoyed the filling (rich amount of chicken and some avocados). There’s some salad on the plate too. The bread provided was soft inside and crunchy outside, very yummy! Really hope I could have more time spent there next time!

We love going to Our Kitchen Table. Staff are always lovely and welcoming and happy to see our daughter. Kev (owner) catered our engagement party (which he did an amazing job of by the way) and always remembers our names and says hello. The food is delicious (love the big breakfast), coffee perfect and lots of sweet treats to tempt you. If busy downstairs, can also be seated upstairs for a bit of space which is good with a toddler. Definitely worth trying.
Used to come here, the food and coffee have always been good. Was dissapointed to see it under new ownership and receive food which looked miserable and was cold, the new owner was also not very friendly. On the bright side our waiter was very nice and the coffee was still great. Will sadly not be returning here again.

My first visit was exceptional and definitely value for money - next visit I ordered the smoked beef/bacon burger - expecting actual meat I was very disappointed in a mince patty - it was very tasty but in my view a meat patty with a bit of salad does not equate to $29 - also 10% surcharge on a Saturday is a bit rich

Food was very tasty and coffee was well made although portion size was not consistent. Struggled with acoustics inside with people yelling to hear people on their table, but outside was lovely. Might be worth investing in a covered area for outside patrons. Prices seemed higher than average for this area and weekend surcharge bumped them up higher.

I enjoy getting out of my local area and trying new places, and Our Kitchen Table Cafe was only planned as a short stop... however I ended up spending a few hours in their outdoor area sampling some of their delightful cuisine. A bit above my standard 'egg and bacon roll' for breakfast, they still catered well for me and I really enjoyed my time. The staff were prompt yet unobtrusive, which I really appreciate.
Lovely cafe opposite Central Park in Malvern Fantastic food and coffee. Has indoor and outdoor seating. Also seating upstairs. You can also book a table if you wish. Will definately go again.

Highly recommend this company for private catering. We have had them at our house for 2 functions now and were extremely pleased with the beautiful food, drinks and service. We discovered them at another private catered function and were very impressed at the time so that is why we decided to ask them to cater for us. We will definitely ask them again should the opportunity arise.
Nice venue very very busy and a bit of a wait for order. I don't think reserving tables should be allowed first in best dressed especially during a busy Saturday morning in the end only purchased coffee as the wait would of been way too long although the food looked awesome. One hour parking is a pain thanks Malvern concil. Side note love the pink loo door!
The barista is great, you can tell he loves making coffee, he has a flair it’s an art. Plus the coffee was first class. We had the Japanese Omelette with fried egg and crispy bacon. The bacon wasn’t crispy which was a disappointment however the pancake was tasty lovely flavours, the staff were friendly and the price was slightly above average.
Interesting small cafe on the main road. The salad is super exciting, coffee is reasonable, and the 'fat chips' are actually wedges! They have something 'too exotic' on the special - Indian based... I hadn't seen any customer ordering those so I'm unsure if they are good though... Friendly staff but don't expect to have an express meal there.
Had the most lovely porridge this morning with rhubarb. The service was 100% and owner was awesome. Highly recommend. Great size coffee as well and nice and hot. I have been coming to our kitchen table for a few years now and every time is great. Definitely worth a visit and a squiz at the stuff they sell at the front. ❤️❤️❤️ Will be back !
I used to love this place as they always catered for dietary requirements. Last Sunday we were told that they won't make any alterations to the menu. It took a lot of effort to get one serve of scrambled eggs for my kids who are allergic to dairy. Unfortunately we won't be able to return here - it was never an issue in the past!
I very rarely write Google reviews, however I was really disappointed by the service we experienced at this cafe. The man who served us was snappy and rude, and we felt that we were an inconvenience to him. On the upside the coffee was lovely, but due to the poor service we won’t return.

I am a regular customer. Love the place. As usual, food and coffee was lovely, really nice ambience, great quick service. This time around we tried the shakshuka baked eggs and zucchini fritters. Both were delicious. Also in the pic is chai latte with honey on the side. Believe me, you cant go wrong with these guys.
Varied menu, reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Dog friendly in courtyard.

Had an exceptional meal here today ,and the coffee was good.We had the corn fritters and the rosti meals. The atmosphere is charming, also has a courtyard as well as a couple of street tables. The staff are very efficient and friendly..I would highly recommend this Cafe for a great meal and coffee.
I really enjoy going here - the intricate roasting of these amazing kitchen tables... I never knew I would enjoy eating tables, but this place sure changed my mind. Beatiful.I especially enjoy eating table legs, they really have an amazing texture. 100% Recomend.
First time visiting this little nugget of a cafe, ticks all the boxes for us. Great wholesome fresh food, good variety, not over complicated, great staff, personable, AND not noisy. Will definitely be heading back. Thank you for a great breakfast experience.
I was warmly welcomed at Our Kitchen Table the first time I went. The food and coffee were excellent and it’s a brilliant spot. I was out house hunting at the time and I’m delighted that it’s close to where I’ll be living. Highly recommend!
Had a delicious brunch here. It was savoury french toast with cheese and egg and something else. I love french toast but it is usually sweet in cafes so less appealing. Very good coffee too. Vegan options for my mate were limited.
came into our kitchen table the other day and this girl krista made me the best oreo milkshake of my life, perfect icecream- milk- oreo ratio it was so thick and delicious 11/10 i will be coming back for kristas milkshakes
Great breakfast and lunch. Always have interesting specials and consistently good coffee too. Well run, friendly and just a great place to sit across from the park on a weekend morning for a tasty brekky treat.
The absolute best cafe in town! Food is superb. This was 2021. Edit, now under new ownership, food not as good, service not as good either. Such a shame…

Always ready to support the local community! Nice and friendly staff makes a great coffee combine with almond croissants as well. I liked the interior design with local artists. Recommend it …
The best ham, cheese and tomato sandwich ever. Highly recommend the hot chocolate too, delish! And really lovely service in a warm and rustic atmosphere. Even special made a vegan sandwich for my sister
I have only been for breakfast and everytime it is fabulous. Great of variety dishes, including a breakfast with the lot of that's what you're after. The kids love the pancakes. Drinks are great to.
Sorry to say the second time ive had a bad experience. I ordered chicken pie and wedges, the pie was burnt and the wedges so hard i couldnt use a fork. The staff didnt offer me a second drink.
The food was delicious! Slightly on the more pricey side, but well worth it. Coffee is good, not fantastic, and the staff are lovely and welcoming. Would definitely visit again! …
Great long black coffee, and savoury muffin also baby chino for Grandson. Beautiful view to Central Park, watching ravens and rainbow lorrakeets play amongst the towering gum trees.
The pancakes here are heavenly - they make them so good that I always end up judging myself for eating too much. The place is very cute and feels comfortable and cozy inside.
Worst almond milk ever so coffee was undrinkable and a horrible granola slice which was stale and totally dreadful!!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Exceptional food. Very friendly staff. Amazing coffee! Love this place (but often hard to get a seat inside because everyone loves it here).
Great place for brunch. Good food. The menus changes all the time. But the food is always good great chai latte highly recommend. Oreo milkshake yummy!
There was a lovely Barista who served my friend and I at the end of the day today. Was very charming and gave great service, beautiful coffee aswell.
Slow service, fine coffee, very average food. Previous owners were very unfriendly but at least they ran a tighter ship. Hopefully they can improve.
The best place to go for coffee and brunch with family and friends. Service is excellent. Can’t wait to return. Thank you Kevin. Cheers Kenny
One of my favourites cafes in the area. :) Friendly staff, great coffee and the OKT Summer Granola is a feast for the senses.
What a great little cafe. A bit quieter than the one up the road, which is good! Food, coffee, and service is top notch.
Very good customer service, atmosphere is very nice
