The weather was perfect. Everyone should come to pier 39. There are jewelry shops restaurants coffee and hotdog joints. The carousel is fun. My only wish was they were open earlier in the morning. I took a boat cruise for a half an hour for $20 around the bay. We got very close to the sea lions and to Alcatraz and they let me drive the boat. It was very fun. There is a booth right as you go in and you’re approaching the stairs to the right to go down and look at the boats, there’s a booth right there where you can buy tickets. You don’t need to buy the tickets in advance because they run cruises every 30 minutes sometimes every 15 minutes. The barking sea lions were so popular. They lay there sunbathing shamelessly. They are so fun to watch. Come and visit. You’ll thank me later!

The vibes at Pier 39 are absolutely spectacular. Boasting huge crowds all days, sea food restaurants and bars, sweets, ice creams and chocolate shops, souvenir and gift shops, a carousel and has breathtaking views of the bay, sea lions, Alcatraz Island and the Golden Gate Bridge. It is probably the busiest piers of all time, also has huge gathering for fireworks during 4th of July and is free for public. I do recommend to reserve half of your day just for exploring this pier and checking it out during evening hours to catch the sunset. I saw few local artists playing music and performing acrobatics, people cheering and handing donations. It is a joyful environment all around the pier and absolutely worth visiting more than just once.

one of the most amazing sights I've been to in SAN Francisco. it has a privileged view of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz island. it is a beautiful place, full of incredible restaurants, many convenience stores, it has sea lions, many beautiful people, an incredible energy, polite people, I lived unforgettable moments with my friends at Pier 39 with my friends there and I intend to return many times. It was such an amazing place! You don’t need tickets to enter. They have a lot of stores, restaurants, arcades etc. they also have a spot you can see sea lions. Their gifts shops are really cute and also 2nd floor is cool too. Not many people go up to 2nd floor so you can enjoy peacefully! There is in-n-out and free museum with vintage arcade games called musee mecanique near the place! It was a great fun spot. I really recommend you to visit there. They also have ferris wheel near there and street markets. It’s really a fun place !

Highly popular tourist destination offering shops and restaurants. The place can be heavily crowded and offers little to no value for the San Francisco experience. This is just a tourist trap and the main attraction are the sea lions at the end of the pier. You will also find overpriced restaurants, cafes and gift shops. I guess visiting is a must but definitely not an enjoyable experience. Besides that, place is very clean and they have free restrooms.

A must visit stop for tourists!! Pier 39 has great seafood restaurants, serving their famous clam chowder dish and oysters. Plenty of gift shops, boat tours, and restaurants in the area. The harbor is a long strip filled w attractions and activities. There’s also an aquarium here. Came around mid November to see them put up Christmas decor, if you’re wanting to go near the season. There’s sea lion viewing area and locks bridge.

Even though it was a weekday, there were a lot of people. Still, it was very lively and nice. You can see sea animals such as sea lions in late September and early October. The sun is hot, so sunglasses are a must. If you take the road next to Pier 39, you can go to Giladelli Chocolate Shop. It is very famous and the view from the store is also beautiful. It's a great place to take pictures, so be sure to stop by.

Pier 39 is nice place to come in free times. I came here three times. First time only with my husband and baby. Second time, with my parents and siblings. Third, with my sister. Cool area with sea lions for you to view on the port and many cute shops. I always purchase a couple of souvenirs whenever I came here. Would like to come back again! Just walking around and windows shopping is already enjoyable.

Really nice spot for a few reasons. First, the popular sea lions are here which is a fun and unique opportunity. They're quite large which can make it a bit easier to see them sunning themselves. Second are all the fun shops and activities. We happened to catch a great performer who was not only skilled but also very funny. It's a little bit touristy but it's fine as prices remain as you'd expect.

Enjoyed the atmosphere here. There is alot of great places to eat and great views of the ocean. I enjoyed seeing Alcatraz in the distance , but I didn't have time to go out to it but definitely will next time. Great place to people watch if you enjoy that. Felt like if you went into one gift shop you've been in to all of them. Don't recommend the pearl shop. But everything else was great. Definitely check out Boudin! Weather is great out there! Can get a little cold so bring a jacket.

Touristy feel during the day but kind of odd during the evening. The residents who roam the streets afterwards don't make the streets feel so safe. A lot of business spaces are boarded up and closed. Not much retail to browse on main streets. The Pier is still nice to roam with decent restaurants and shopping. Sea lions seem to be out of season during this time of year (November).

Pier 39 is such a happening place. Loved the touristy vibes and the atmosphere there. So many people from different parts of the world and so many different restaurants to try out food. The best parts are the seagulls and sea-lions. You can spend hours just looking at them and thinking of how your life would be if you were a sealion. Seagulls are notorious and we saw one of them playfully steal a cherry from a fruit shop.

Fog Harbour was a surprising treat!!! You can't tell from the outside, but once you're inside, the restaurant looks and smells amazing!!! The friendly and helpful staff mixed with the fabulous atmosphere and great views (when there's no fog) makes this a great go to place to eat. We had the Fish & Chips, the Crab and Steak & Fries. The appetizer was a cup of Clam Chowder and it was over the top savory and delicious!!! All our dishes were fantastic!!! I strongly recommend pay the Fog Harbour a visit.
Absolutely amazing tourist trap! Shops everywhere, food, smell of the ocean! Family environment and plenty to do. Best part is when I was told to head to the left to see the sea lions. In my mind I was thinking two or three. Heard the barking, found the sea lions and there were hundreds! It was amazing to see. Highly recommend even to just walk around and take in the view!

A nice walking boardwalk. It is pretty touristy with lots to sell to children. I didn’t have my family with me which made it more enjoyable, but had they been there I would have been more perturbed with the number of marketing tactics targeting children. The end of the pier is great. You see the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. Near view with a lot of history.

Great view of Alcatraz and the Sea Lions. Weekdays will be way quieter but it’s a fun place to visit on the weekend with live music and people watching.

While Pier 39 is a capitalist fever dream that felt a lot like Disney World, I can honestly say that I enjoyed it immensely. The views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz at sunset were surreal. The vibes were cheerful and wholesome. The sea lions were utterly charming. I spent hours here and the time flew by. Definitely a touristy spot, but I’d say it’s a worth a visit.
Nice place for family or friends. Lots of restaurants to try and arcades for kids. You can see so many sea lions here. This place also gives you a view of Alcatraz. Bit windy for evenings so may need a puffer jacket if you plan to take walk on the pier.

Cool place; lots of shops and restaurants. and a very popular place to watch the seals and sea lions and their antics. No cost to walk around the pier itself. Great for a cheap adventure with the kids. Also a beautiful spot for sunset.
Pretty and a very touristy spot to visit in San Francisco! Lots of things to do around here from shopping to dining to adventures! Absolutely loved my first time here. Good vibes and can’t wait to see the Xmas tree soon!
The pier at Fisherman's Wharf was so lively and had amazing views. The music set such a fun mood and there were vendors everywhere you looked. Great place to come see the sunset and even purchase some fresh seafood!
Probably the most tourist oriented area of San Francisco. Having said that it's a must as you have to get down and see the water/Alcatraz etc. It's charmingly tacky and there are some wonderful restaurants.
We visited this area twice. Grabbed a great dinner and lunch. The views from some of the restaurants are really cool looking at the pier. The sea lions were a lot of fun to watch. Very clean and safe place.
Lots of nice cafes and interesting shops. Nice carousel. Lots of restrooms should you need them. There stars of Pier 39 is definitely the sealions. Definitely worth a visit to see these fellas!
