Clean Environment and great staffs Paelon Memorial Hospital is a multi-specialist boutique hospital established in April 2010. We are located at 1221 Ahmadu Bello Way in the high-brow neighbourhood of Victoria Island, Lagos, and have a branch at 9, Ajao Street in Ikeja. The hospital was set up in memory of PAtricia ELozie ONyia - PAELON, the 3rd and last child of the current Managing Director & Founding Partner, Dr. Ngozi Onyia. We are a guideline and protocol driven hospital and as a result provide evidence based, patient centred primary, secondary and tertiary health care services of the highest standard with integrity and are often sought out for honest, professional second opinions. Good hospital; the hospital has great facilities and the doctors seem to be experienced and know what they're doing. I had my first child here via caesarean section and all went well though they wouldn't give my son formula afterwards when my breastmilk wasnt flowing and my son cried so much. they said they have an only 'breastmilk' policy but not sure if that's the best approach. There's also a bit of wait time but I guess that's normal in most hospitals. However, the hospital has a poor customer service. I relocated out of the country and obtained a report of my medical history with the hospital before I travelled (this report was NOT free o). When I got pregnant with my 2nd child, I gave the report to maternity clinic but the obstetrician said the report wasn't detailed enough; that it didn't even tell the kind of incision that was done for the CS and she requested for an operative report. I reached out to Paelon via email to see if I could get an updated report but there was no response. I called the hospital and the person I spoke sounded like I was even disturbing her but said she would inform the doctor. I still didn't get a response. I sent a follow up email but no response till date. Now, the obstetrician says they have to treat my delivery as 'high risk' since they couldn't get a report and I had a CS the first time. I'm very disappointed in Paelon's customer service.
I like the hospital, their professionalism and attention to patients. However, I think they need to work on these things: - Firstly, for a hospital that specialises in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, they need to increase either the practitioners or their working hours. Currently, I think they have only 3 OBGYs (2 work during the weekday and 1 works during the weekend) - Secondly, they need to increase the working hours of the OBGYs. They close at 3:30pm; I need to stress again that one of their specialty is Obstetrics and Gynaecology. - Thirdly, you have to book an appointment to see any of the OBGYs and most times when you call they are always fully booked, except you call a week ahead. So in cases of emergency, you end up seeing a GP instead of an OBGY. As stated earlier, I like the hospital and if they can improve on these points then in my opinion they would be one of the best hospitals in Lagos, Nigeria
My experience was very disappointing. I went there with malaria symptoms, however after taking the tests, the doctor said the tests revealed no traces of malaria and only showed low white blood cell count. She then suggested that I had to do a Covid test with them, otherwise she can't prescribe any further treatment for me. Being unsatisfied with that answer, I went to another hospital who then ran the same tests, requested that I be admitted for observation and then proceeded to recommend medication for me to stabilize my situation at that time. Few moments later, their test results came out, showing I had high traces of the same Malaria Paelon said I didn't have.. all this without suggesting I take a Covid test first before they can treat me any further. It's sad how nonchalant people can be with people's lives all for the extra 50k for covid test.
Called their emergency number as i had heart palpitations after taking a drug and needed to speak to a doctor, and the front desk person asked me to call back in 30mins. In my dire situation i tried to explain that I was having an emergency and he was adamant saying that he could not interrupt a consultation (might i add that i have been in consultation with a doctor before and he was interrupted 3 times while attending to me).I called back as requested and got the same story. As i write this review, I still have not had my emergency attended to. Tell me why it is a number touted as an emergency number when the person who picked is not helpful, knowledgeable or trained properly
The only good thing I can say about this hospital is the environment. The nurses are so unprofessional and lack sympathy for there patient’s. I’ll like to say that this hospital isn’t suitable for any patients that doesn’t require noise, reason because one of the best thing the nurses are good with is noise making, at first I almost thought it was a local govt office because of the noise. Now I’ll also use this medium to appreciate one nurse, her name is nurse MARY. Her level of professionalism is nothing to write home about, she’s so so good. A lot I have to say, but I’ll just stop here.
Paelon has a new set of Customer Care Representatives and i must say these set are very professional. I was at the clinic this morning, even when the first customer care rep's shift ended, she toook her time to patiently direct me, Kume (not sure i got her name right) performed her duties with all sense of devotion to all of us at the reception, even when i had to Wait for my test results she ha called Severally and even dropped an sms. Dr Hassan is so detailed and patient. Welldone Team Paelon
Terrible service. Highly disappointed at the manner they treat patients and poor customer service. Published telephone numbers not answered despite having two people at the front desk. Waited two days for lab results, which are still outstanding. Passed around without concrete answers, the usual round of empty apologies. Waiting around on a doctor who decide to go home without completing obligations. Most certainly wouldn’t recommend this facility.
I used to like the Hospital and introduced it to many of my friends and colleagues bcos of the nice environment and some of the friendly staff not until I met this Doctor Ubikwe if I’m right with d spelling... His attitude wen attending to me was so unprofessional to say the least.. my last experience with him wasn’t it at all and I hope the management of Parlon looks into this so he doesn’t spoil their good reputation they’ve built overtime..
I was referred here for a surgical consultation but the Dr did not see the severity of the situation and sent me off with pills and asked me to return in a month. A waste of over N40 000 on unwarranted tests, no new case insight and minimizing of my complaints. Seems people mainly come here for child birth purposes. Wont recommend. Poor planning of walkways, only stairs, not minimal mobility/ ability friendly.
Service at the clinic has gone down dramatically in the past few years. Test results supposed to be communicated are not. Wait times are going up. Level of care is good but can be hit or miss depending on what doctor you see. The clinic is also not very clean. The building is old and certainly not kept up. UPDATE: their new location is new, clean and much improved. Original score of 2 stars, upped to 4.
This Clinic is nothing but the best. Staff very experienced, professional and full of empathy. From the gate men, receptionists, nurses, doctors _ they make you feel safe in their hands. Had an emergency and called the call center midnight, the lady responded promptly. Healthy and friendly environment. There’s always room for improvement though but weldone team
I really liked Paelon! I experienced my first pregnancy with them and it was a really great experience. I was a very relaxed pregnant woman so I didn’t fuss about anything, just went with the flow. They were on point and I never had any issues. Even when I needed to transfer my medical records to another hospital, there were no complaints from the receiving hospital.
Very poor service, to triple overdose of drug caused by their wrong prescription, wrong diagnosis, to the point of even asking I should go under the knife for something that didn't warrant that. Thanks to God for saving me from their wicked hands, if you value your health please stay away from this hospital, they only want your money and careless for your health.
Terrible service. I brought in my child's school form to have it signed, they didn't have his records and asked for N35,000 to re-assess him so they can sign the form. Bear in mind that my son has been using this hospital for about 3 years, he has been admitted and tested several times, yet they have no record of basic medical history. Absolutely pathetic!
Extremely professional and friendly health practitioners , the radiology personnel, to Dr Okogwu to the receptionist, Thank you so much. You guys made me feel so comfortable. If you are considering what hospital to use, Paelon is your best option, they truly care about their patients and they are professional. You guys are the best.
Shameful behavior towards patients, they do not send the results to an e-mail address, they do not call their patients to ask them how they are and if they need anything. and everything is duly charged. Shame. especially for Foreign Citizens. I will never come to this hospital again. horrible staff and rude. catastrophe in one word.
Since I started using Paelon in 2014, they have never failed me and my family on being able to detect health issues and this has been done in a timely manner (before it was too late). They always update themselves with what's going on in the medical "world". I recommend Paelon to everyone, everywhere I go.
Very impressed with this hospital. The guys at the reception are so cordial and professional. Very patient. The doctors are thorough and meticulous, taking note of every detail. They have good equipment for tests, scans and so on. Themed for kids but they also care for adults. Great hospital
Nice environment, good parking space, even the health care services is second to none. A five start even I think is poor for them. If there is another superior to 5 star it should be given to paelon memorial hospital ,ahmadu bello way Victoria island Lagos.
The front office staff need serious training on professionalism and client management. They ruin the client experience. Other than that the service at the hospital is good and the doctors and nurses are very helpful and nice.
The best hospital in VI. Dr Sola Abodunrin is one of the best gynae in Lagos. Very relaxing environment. Above all customer service is top notch.. though pricey and little time wait to see doctors and get lab result.
Good, professional staff. The hospital is very professional with happy-looking staff who are in constant communication with visitors/patients. Facilities are also great here. A bigger space would be a great idea.
The new set of young Doctors they have doesn’t listen and have little patience to examine patience . Their Doctors are very professional and pay attention to details not in a hurry to discharge patience .
I am so angry right now and would need to speak with the customer care or a representative of the management immediately. This is unacceptable. I have tried the phone number and it is not working.
Had a terrible experience at this hospital that shows the lives of the patients dont matter here. Even though I have been a customer for over 3 years. Wont be going back and wont recommend.
Excellent services, the team led by Dr Ngozi Onyia has a vast medical experience and network. And their ability to make a correct diagnosis, first time is superb.
Highly impressed. Very friendly and courteous staff who show genuine care. Doctors are superb with their duties. Would recommend it to anyone.
They will not prioritise you or your needs. You will probably have to follow up consistently to get what you need and have paid for.
Unbelievable medical hospitality and professionalism. The personnels are always spot on, I will recommend it to the world.
Slow response, not a place you can go to in an emergency, average waiting period before you'll be attended to is an hour.
A well organized and patient-centric hospital with clean facilities. Keep up the good job team Paleon!
A friend had a baby here and received professional care. The environment was nice and comfortable too.
quality healthcare delivery in the most friendly and patient focused style... Awesome ambience.
