I am a local that frequents this store often. I will probably not from now on. I would like to preface my review and say that they have a great selection, and there are specific employees here that are very helpful and friendly. However, my last experience was so negative that I won’t be returning anytime soon. Everything was great up until check-out. I was next in line. Before I got helped the cashier yelled at a patron walking in “is there anything I can help you with!?” I’ve seen staff ask this to people that look suspect before (with the same sharp, rhetorical tone) in order to scare them off. I understand wanting to keep the riff raff out...but in this scenario I believe the guy was prematurely categorized. He was a shaggy-haired gentleman and she assumed he was homeless or something. He turned around in dismay, still wearing his work uniform with business name on it and various paint splatters as well. Probably the very type of blue collar client the store is intended for. After that instance, I didn’t really feel like my cashier gave people the benefit of the doubt. This was reaffirmed when after setting my nail and wall mount on the counter check out she proceeded to ask me how much they were. I said I believe nail is .08 and mount is .60. She argued that a wall mount is more expensive and after I offered to go over and check the price again she refused my offer and called a clerk. The clerk affirmed I was correct. She immediately assumed I was deceiving her. Also, why did you ask me if you were simply going to question me? Is it not your job to know pricing to begin with? I assume it was merely a test to gauge my honesty. That is a whole ‘nother conversation though... After she questioned my integrity and stereotyped a patron I find this location not to be worthy of my business. I don’t have high standards. My only requirement is that you treat others as you’d like to be treated.
"Ace is the place with the helpful hardware folks"... for this location that use to be the case, in recent years it has gotten worse and worse every time I come in. The customer service is at an all timeline low, there may be ONE employee to is kind, knowledgeable and helpful. I've lived in the neighborhood for about 15 years and have always gone to PEARL ACE for convenience and the level of service they provide, even though its priced higher than hardware stores. This last time was in fact the LAST time for me at Ace Pearl Hardware. They are rude, I wouldn't go within an hour of closing, cause everyone will remind you they're closing soon, but won't offer to help. This last time I needed a cheap white ikea shelf cut, they said they won't do it unless they sell it...I dont think many of us in the area have a saw, table saw etc as we live in condos, apartments etc...I asked if I could sign a waiver saying if they messed up on this $25 shelf that I would not hold them liable..."NO." just straight up no and then reminded me AGAIN they're closing within the hour...which I didn't need the reminder as clearly I would not be sticking around. I hope management changes and they go back to being friendly and helpful regardless if they cant cut items they don't carry. I will gladly drive to the suburbs going forward to a big box store with great customer service over ACE pearl location. Good luck, hopefully ya'll can turn it back around. It's likely a leadership/management issue. I myself have managed retail stores and understand where it all starts...
Superlatively great staff (except for this exceptionally grump guy named Jerry--in our interactions, he's been, with few exceptions, snippy and rude). People from the neighborhood and some who I now feel are almost friends; we'll talk for fifteen minutes about whatever. And it is more expensive than Home Depot, but considering the neighborhood, pretty decent prices. Has some great kitchenware as well that is Sur le Table-esque, as well as a new houseplants area and expanded garden center (just seeds and supplies, no outdoor plants as of Winter of 2021). But yes--compared to other hardware stores, it's got a very small footprint, so especially for oversized goods (think lumber) it's not got a great selection (though there are finish boards and the like, whatever you need to put up shelving or whatnot. Watch for coupons, consider downloading the app, and be aware that they honor the neighboring Ace flyer prices if you make them aware that something is discounted (this can save you a LOT of money). Also, dog friendly! My pup loves the checkout people and their treats!
Sadly, I have to admit, I am one of those folks who has been sucked into the big box store frame of mind. Recent I have moved and work in the Pearl district, and have driven past this Ace on my to Home Depot more times than I care to count. No longer will this happen. Not only is this place able to help me with my work needs, but they are also great with my home project also. I have to admit, I have an addiction to house plants, *sometimes I feel I need an intervention* but that's another story. Anyway, the staff at Pearl Ace is in a nut shell amazingly helpful. Instead of me having to look for some one to help me find something, the staff usually finds me wondering around aimlessly, and ask if I need anything. Never have they not had what I needed, or did I feel I should have shopped else where. In a nutshell. Ace is the Place with your helpful hardware person. *Great, now that songs gonna be stuck in my head all day* Thank you folks for all your hard work, it is noticed and appreciated.
First time here, and I was looking forward to a good customer experience per the Google reviews. Unfortunately, overall, it was an experience of indifferent attitudes from the staff. Of the approx. 6 employees I came across, only one approached me to ask if I needed anything. All other staff didn’t acknowledge me at all. One male staff even did the peek a boo semi-following me (he’s white, I’m obviously not. Yes, I did feel like that). Nonetheless, I purchased a couple of items I was looking for. It’s cool that this store has a public bathroom since a lot of businesses in this area don’t. And, yes, prices seem to be generally higher here. Despite this ACE’s location is very convenient for me, I’m not motivated to return based on this experience. Suggestion: Highlight to your staff the meaningfulnesses of acknowledging customers, even if they don’t look like them. Also, have more racial and ethnic diversity on your staff.
Won’t bother explaining my experience here as it’s clear this business could care less if they drive away customers they deem the “wrong kind” so just a public service announcement: if the employees here feel you aren’t the right kind of person to be shopping there you’ll be treated like a second class citizen who is somewhere they don’t belong, who should leave the store and not come back. Which is odd because I thought that was the exact kind of culture they are fighting so hard in that part of town. Just look at some of the other 1 star reviews here and the responses of the business and you’ll see that others have had the same kind of experience I had while shopping here and they have been responded to with unprofessional sarcasm and have even been told by the business that they appreciate them not returning. If that’s the kind of business you want to support then head on over to the Pearl Ace Hardware.
Everyone acts like they are really helpful, but they aren’t very knowledgeable except for one older gentleman that is always extremely helpeful. Front desk is unfriendly and seem like they all just want to be home and not working. I got a pipe cut recently and I requested that the copper he cut off is clean - he barked back “ you can clean it off yourself “. Then I came home to find that it was 3/8” too long with the sharpie marker line still on it. Every time I come in this store it happens to be within the hour when they’re closing and you can certainly tell- as the whole crew is asking you if you need help ( only they’re really sending the message subliminally that they want to get you out of the store). Announcements over their radios are all gearing up to close the store instead of focusing on allowing your customers to get out in the time that works for them.
Edit: first off go look at the one star reviews and what the ownership/management responses if that doesn’t make you want to shop somewhere else I don’t know what will! So rude and disrespectful, exactly what I should expect from this part of town I guess. Extremely poor customer service from the sales people. Combined with their over obsession with social distancing, and Hand sanitizer. I got tired of it and don’t shop there anymore(had a commercial account) there’s plenty of other reasons I don’t shop there also but I don’t feel like wasting my time writing it they certainly won’t read past the first two Words of my review since it’s not a glowing one! Never ever will I shop there again I drive the extra distance to any other hardware store it’s worth it to not feel looked down upon at the “Pearl Ace Hardware” So inclusive LOL (sarcasm)
this small business is not the right place to buy an appliance. They are unable to accommodate returns. The AC i bought was 619.00 a big loss for me. I went to ACE because i trusted their product selection skills for the local area which has a lot of old homes. This AC caused burning smell in my apartment. Which maintainance said was because the ampage of the unit was too high for the apartment. The complex is being torn down next year fo a new build so they were uninterested in rewiring my unit for the AC and had suggestions for a better match which i took. it was an expensive mistake. while I do understand that ACE hardware can not be amazon or home depot. i do really regret buying my AC from them. i want say that part of this my fault for not catching on to the ampage issue. prior to purchase.
I find myself at Pearl Ace a few times a week after finally becoming a homeowner. Folks there are incredibly helpful and it appears they really enjoy working there judging by the many interactions I have had with the employees. A few of them even greet me by name at this point which doesn't sound like much, but it's something I wouldn't experience in a place like Home Depot (and it brightens my day). On a few occasions, they didn't have the parts or hardware I needed for a project, but they were happy to point me in the right direction. Options are limited downtown as far as hardware stores go, and I am grateful that the one hardware store within walking distance is so great.
What a joke of store, I've never felt so uncomfortable shopping in my entire life. Not once did I give the employees a reason to think I was doing them wrong yet I was stalked throughout the entire experience. Even using the toilet, after 8 minutes I was joined by an awkward employee "making sure I was okay". I know this will not do anything to better this location, but just maybe one of the workers will happen to read this and think twice about harassing every young adult who steps foot in there. The level of disrespect easily made this the worst shopping experience to date. So congratulations pearl hardware, for being a prime example of why our society is absolute trash.
Even though I live right next to this location, I much prefer spending an hour getting to Home Depot instead. Countless products here are 50% more expensive than anywhere else. And the main reason I'm writing this review is the horrible customer service I keep getting. The people asking if I needed help acted surprisingly annoyed and rude when I said yes. And the last 3 times I keep getting a male cashier who never says Hi, never asks if I want my receipt (which might not be allowed by corporate), and acts like he's upset he's having to ring me up. I tried to support this location but some of the people who work here make this location a miserable experience.
Smallish store, known as the "Pearl Ace hardware store," but really located in the knob hill section as it is above the 405. I've shopped there for 16 years now, no matter what part of Portland I've lived in. I love the customer service, never a wait, always willing to assist, but never pushy, the assortment of merchandise is perfect for the customer base. Not a ton of every item, but a huge assortment of what one might need, homeowners and renters alike, new and historical buildings/properties, reasonable prices as well. Also, if one does have a vehicle, there is ample parking available, and accommodations for disabled are a forethought vs and afterthought!
Fun and practical - well-curated hardware store! you can find an obscure, well crafted kitchen item, a house plant, a high-end vacuum, stylish doormats, specialty cleaning tools plus get paint mixed or matched, and everything else you expect to be in a *real* hardware store. I LOVE this place! Today I bought a small mixing bowl, fine mesh small strainer, fabric wrapped extension extension chord and a really cute tray by Danica. It was nice to decide in person as I'd been trying to choose from similar items on Amazon. I appreciated the *no touch* auto hand sanitizer station, limited entry, and face mask precautions they took.
This Ace Hardware is my favorite in Portland. The staff is amazing and very knowledgeable and friendly. I once was looking for something for my patio that was very specific, they didn't have it but someone gave me an alternative that I never would have even thought of and saved me a lot of money. I ended also using the canvas I bought for another project. Worked out perfect. On top of it all, they are very dog friendly and have pictures of local dogs at their cash area. My favorite part is their plant collection. they have one of the best in the area and super affordable. You guys are killing it, keep it up.
I have been to Ace Hardware in the pearl over the years & overall my interactions have been positive. I was in a situation with my shower needing sealant, I really needed some sincere advice and some options on how to deal with a slight crack in the grout of the shower. I politely asked for help and Robert was essentially unhelpful and condescending. It was really disappointing and unnerving because he seemed standoffish. I drove to another hardware store (A-Boy) and they were super receptive to help me solve the problem. Fair warning to DIY ladies out there.
Pearl Ace Hardware is my go-to hardware store. I go there mostly for paint/painting supplies, and other project stuff/tools/etcetera that I may need, but they're also good for other things that I don't typically see in most hardware stores, such as kitchen/dining room stuff, as well as all kinds of other various miscellaneous items. The staff are polite and helpful, and they know their stuff. I would definitely recommend doing business with this local/family-owned franchise, instead of one of the "big box" stores. Five stars for sure.
I don’t know if it’s because they’re in the Pearl District, and it’s for show for high-maintenance people, but requiring you hand sanitize upon entry is insane, not based in science, doesn’t match public policy, and will not be a place I would shop. Aside from it being nothing to do with how coronavirus spreads, there are so many cheap sanitizers out there that are actually dangerous to use. They also don’t answer their phone. It’s fine, though. Amazon had what I needed for $14 less, and it seems Ace’s website is inaccurate anyway.
After shopping with my partner at this hardware store for more than 2 years, I was profiled today by your security officer because I was carrying a bookbag. The security officer asked me to leave my bag at the front. If this is the case, then anybody with a bag (purses included) should be leaving their bags at the front. Because you chose to single me out in an inconsistent and humiliating manner, we will be taking our future business elsewhere. You should either apply your security policy consistently or not at all.
Update: because of covid & wage shortage, they now close at 6(!). But the people who work there are as amazing as ever! Wow. The people who work here know EVERYTHING: where stuff is, how to use it, what the options & trade-offs are, etc. And if you don't know what you need, bring it in (or describe it or whistle a few bars ) and they'll help you invent something on the spot. It's like the opposite of Home Depot -- you can find people & when you do, they're HELPFUL. Great store & great asset to downtown.
Always a good experience and great central location. High prices but friendly staff and nice to buy local. Update: upgraded from 4 to 5 stars. Still love this location so much. Just had yet another project which is his time required plumbing and fasteners. As usual, was able to spend time here and get almost everything I needed (the last few items were highly specific, no one would carry it). On top of it I found a quality magnetic cabinet-mount knife holder for our japanese knives.
I don't care if the box stores are cheaper, if they are, they are an absolute nightmare to navigate. This store however, is awesome, they always have everything I need, the staff is super helpful, and knowledgeable and they don't hesitate to go above and beyond, no more of those blank looks and vapid stares you get at Home Despot or Lows. Any price difference between this store and the cavernous warehouses is easily paid for in ease, satisfaction and lack of frustration, ten fold.
Went in for some soldering equipment and I had questions about it since I was new to the work. Spoke with Lee and I couldn't help but feel like I was a huge inconvenience to speak with. He never looked at me in the eye and I hated every second I had to spend around him while he showed me where the things I needed were in the store. Others in the store were kind, but Lee was a piece of work. I just feel insulted and uncomfortable now.
This shop proposes a wild range of products concerning Grills and Smokers, Outdoor living and Patio, Lawn and Garden, Tools, Paints and Supplies, Heating and Cooling, Home and Decor, Building Supplies, Hardware, Storage and Organization, Lighting and Electrical, Plumbing, Automotive RV and Marine. Everything is tidy and well organized, staff is completely friendly. Very nice experience this people are serious! Highly recommended
I called at 5:50 asking if someone will stay a few minutes so I can get an item to take care of my customer at my business. And I came here at 6:05 and the place is locked up. No one in sight. Huge let down and a waste of time. If I tell a customer I’m going to do something I do it. The employee needs to be talked to about customer service because I this point I understand how important your customers are to you. Very upsetting
Great selection if hardware, tools, and other common used materials for just about everything. Friendly and helpful staff every time I've been in there. If they don't have what you need they give you suggestions on where you can go to get said thing. I manage facilities at a local law firm and I almost always head their first for the vast majority of my needs since it's closer than other big stores like Home Depot.
This store feels like stepping back in time. Customer service is warm and helpful. From cutting keys, to selecting 3 or 4 screws at $.09 each, or finding the proper water filter, they go above and beyond with a smile and competent service. The selection is perfect. I don't even call first anymore, because they always have what I want. But seriously..call 1st. Their parking is free and a spot is always available.
I LOVE this hardware store! We come here all the time. Some highlights for things we buy here: *Washing soda (clean way to clear pipes without drain-o) *Dehumidifier and dehumidifying crystals (great for those bathrooms without ventilation in the NW *paint for our apartment *Christmas decorations We come here and spend a lot of money. Just sign up for the ace hardware membership so you get money off.
Horrid rude was wearing a complete faceshield and told I have to wear a cloth mask also or leave the store. Vaccine card in hand, dictator governor said face covering not required and shield acceptable for those that can't wear mask. No exceptions or offer of taking my order to outside pick up. No wonder people go to big box store. I support small business but not this one..
Great selection of equipment and hardware supplies. I always find what I'm looking for including very specific screws bolts nuts and tools. I find the things in general to be spendy here especially household items. Service is really great though and the staff is very experienced and will take the time to answer your questions and make sure you are getting the right thing.
They were a bit rude because when I came in I was very dirty from work. Just had to get a few items. Found what I needed, and went to pay and all I had was a $100 bill. My total, was $14. The saleslady refused the sale, and I had to walk 5 blocks to a bank to get smaller bills and walk back. This slowed my time getting back to my job site, and slowed my entire day.
This is a weird hardware store, in that it feels like half hardware/half homegoods store. They sell things for pour over coffee, nice cutting boards, picture frames, and more. I like to place my order online ahead of time or else I know I'm going to buy more than I need. If you can walk there, do it. They have a parking lot but it can be a little tricky sometimes.
Amazing place to find almost everything for your home, car repair or other tools. The quality of tools are really good, and because of that the prices usually are not so cheap. If you are not sure what you are looking for, stuff will really help you with that. Just find someone and describe what you are looking for, and most of the time they will find it for you!
shout out to Tallon and Solomon for their help today! I hope I am spelling their names right. Tallon greeted me and got started helping me with my problem right away. He called on someone who had some more knowledge to share and together they helped me through my project. I’m grateful for these employees who made this visit an good experience!
I've been going to this store since it was Uptown Hardware in another location, same owners. They are amazingly well stocked for the size and have had virtually everything I've ever needed, even old fashioned obscure items. The staff are knowledgable and helpful. They recently expanded into the space next door, so I expect even more capacity.
STOP SHOPPING AT THIS LOCATION UNTIL THIS STORE STOPS ABUSING ITS CUSTOMERS. There is NO return policy even with a receipt. customer service doesn’t exist. No, they berate and belittle you. Do not even attempt to make a formal complaint to corporate. They are useless too and simply don’t care.DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME AT THIS STORE.
I am usually a big fan of Pearl Hardware. But on my last visit everyone was a little bit off. I know it's covid-19 and it's a stressful time for everybody, but we can still remain civil and polite. And I haven't been going out much and interacted in retail environment so maybe this is the new normal. We'll see. I guess time will tell.
We had to remodel our apartment and it’s insane how useful this location was. Most people just end up going to Home Depot or Lowe’s but the Pearl Ace really has everything you need. Plus, when you have questions or need advice, the staff actually knows what they’re talking about instead of just giving you a blank stare. It’s magical!
Jen in the paint department was EXCELLENT to work with!! Jen was so accommodating by helping address my questions via email and then have EVERYTHING ready for in-store pickup for the day of my project, as I was trying to reduce my in-store exposure due to COVID. Amazing customer service. Will be back for any other projects for sure.
Quality hardware store. The selection here is great, and I've never had to go somewhere else to find what I needed. The staff is attentive, friendly, and eager to help. But my favorite part of the store is the extensive selection of interesting housewares; it's a fun store to just walk through and get ideas for the house.
Having a store like Pearl Hardware in the downtown area is a godsend. Their staff is knowledgeable and courteous and the selection is quite broad. Cities everywhere need physical business like this one in their downtown core. Thanks Pearl Hardware for the services you provide and the anchor you are for downtown Portland!
They have a decent selection of items. As with any hardware store it's hit and miss when asking for help. I've had someone give me an excellent tip while another one just led me around while they looked for something I asked for. There is at least always someone around to ask, though half the time you may regret asking.
Not accepting US currency. Mandatory hand sanitizer at the door. Can't touch anything in the store. Typical Portland business. Re: store response, yes we are. But every other merchant is accepting currency. Do you turn away customers who only have cash? How about those less fortunate who don't have credit or debt cards?
Have been shopping here for all of my Hardware needs for many years and now I live just a mile or so away and it's an easy walk to the store. The staff are always knowledgeable and very helpful in answering questions or finding something I'm looking for. I HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS ACE HARDWARE STORE for all of your needs!
We live near by and walk here for all our household supplies, tools, and similar needs. I've bought a lot of things here and the people have always been super nice, and very helpful. They help me figure out what I need, or find some tiny nut that's the right size, and are patient with my dog (who loves to go in here).
i had excellent service from the lady that was working at the paint counter on the morning of july 19! i didn’t catch your name but you were wonderful!! i had a paint chip and you matched the color perfectly and were very helpful and informative. excellent customer service at the cash register too! thank you so much!
I went to Pearl Ace Hardware to get some paint chips for paint samples for a historic building in downtown Portland. Jonathan in the paint department was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and patient. He guided me through the process and provided expert advice. A great experience and I will return with more business.
I look forward to walking to Portland’s downtown hardware store every time I need an item they carry, which is practically everything yet somehow in a compact store that you can walk through in minutes. This is one of a handful of stores that help make Portland a livable paradise…. thank you Pearl ACE Hardware!
Needed help with paint and wood finish. didn’t not get the help I was looking for. Lots of employees working and walking the aisles but didn’t seem to fulfill what I was asking. Their employees didn’t feel genuine in my opinion. Better go to Home Depot and get quality service there instead and feel welcomed.
This is one of the best hardware stores in Portland, hands down. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they have a little but of everything. If you took all of the best things in a kitchen store and a big box hard ware store and put them into one store, that store would be Pearl Ace Hardware.
I was absolutely AMAZED at the fantastic customer service I recently received at Pearl ACE Hardware! Aside from it being a beautiful and organized store - the awesome staff were so helpful and friendly, I will now go there for everything I could possibly need! Thank you, David and crew!!
Has a good variety of essentials and housewares. Prices are higher than you could get online or even in other stores if you went even a little out of downtown. But staff are friendly and helpful and the fact that they are centrally located and have a parking lot add a lot of value.
I absolutely love the NW Ace Hardware! It has such awesome plants for sale that I have decorated my whole apartment with! It also has a lot of essential items for sale as well which makes it an extremely easy, awesome one stop shop! I am blessed to only live a few blocks away!
Feels like a place that would murder a shoplifter, oh wait they do that at ace. Try to be a customer but get treated like I'm trying to steal. Maybe it's just me. Ace brand stuff is all trash and the entire store is overpriced. Could use something better in the neighborhood.
This place deserves high marks for having a surprisingly good selection of kitchen accessories, including some very nice cutlery, on top of the regular selection of plumbing equipment, tools, and so forth. The staff were also very attentive, and offered to help frequently.
Christopher is incredible! I can in yesterday with a swinging light and before I could even speak, Chris identified what I’d need and brought me right to the screws and anchors I’d want. I literally didn’t even have to say anything and he handed me everything I needed.
Helpful knowledgeable folks there as always. was able to help find all the right parts to replace the water line on the back of my fridge. also counting the number of people in the store to properly limit During covid-19 and have hand sanitizer right at the entrance.
If Rube Goldberg were alive today THIS is where he'd shop! (I affectionately call this "my Build a Better Mousetrap Store"!) The staff is always super helpful! The product selection is extraordinary! And the prices are always surprisingly economical! #GetItDone #DIY
Reasonable selection for a small hardware store. Has a little bit of most things. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable. The service counter is awesome. They cut me some glass for a window I was replacing, have also cut other materials there for other small projects.
I'm not much of a home repair person but I needed a few odds and ends for a project. Had no idea where anything would be but the staff found it instantly and even helped me make sure I was getting the right stuff. One of the best shopping experiences I've ever had.
Kaden, Drew and Christopher absolutely made my day. I can’t even believe the extra mile they went for me with their service today it was absolutely impeccable, I’m going to shop at the Pearl ace hardware from now on! Thank you so much. I’ll see you soon.! call
This place always seems to have whatever I need for small jobs around the apartment, whether it's special light bulbs, hand tools, batteries, etc. Their well stocked kitchen section is also quite surprising. I almost always spot something I could use there.
I was in need of some bug spray. Sure enough it was helpful to have an employee know right where it was. To have quick service like that & kindness from the employee. I'm impressed to say great training. I'll dignity be back & bring others with Me.
awesome, well organized selection, but even better: extremely thoughtful, helpful staff: they really consider the problem you’re trying to solve, no matter how big or how small, so much so that this is one of my five favorite shops in Portland. <3
This local hardware stop is non pretentious and really helpful. They have helped us get out of binds many times. It's nice to know you can make a repair without making a trip to the big orange box store. Our doggy likes their treats, too.
The folks who work here seem to genuinely enjoy their work, which makes it a welcoming place to visit. Well stocked! In that modest square footage, they always magically have what I came in for. Incredible kitchen goods selection.
Lady who worked there(probably was miserable )was extremely rude and didn’t even bother looking for what I had asked, just automatically told me it wasn’t there without even looking, probably won’t even bother coming back again
I didn't realize it was an Ace Hardware until I saw the building. Very welcoming and helpful at the front door. Found what I needed in less than 5 minutes. They also didn't mind my service dog, and gave her a treat.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff with a wide selection of products. It's a great place to have keys made. The prices are more than the big box stores, but it saves you the headache of wasting an hour on the I5.
Usually nice place to go a few times employee s we're annoying but I guess when u have a backpack you get profiled. Prices are high and not enough items for this new age. They need to rethink thier inventory.
What can I say? It's an Ace Hardware. Ace's are a parred down version of a Lowes or Home Depot. You can get home goods from lawn care supplies, to BBQs, 6 inch clamps, band saws, drills, and paint,
I was surprised at the range of merchandise available at this downtown location. It even has a paint mixing center and a key copy center with a locksmith. Good customer service and fair pricing too.
Ace Hardware is a great neighborhood hardware store. Yes, Home Depot is way bigger, but who wants to drive out to Beaverton all the time? I'm thankful we have a hardware store in the neighborhood.
They know my name and use it when I come in every time. They are all always eager and willing to help. I never shop at any other hardware store. There is simply no reason to(: Thank you Perl Ace!
Good morning all you fine people of Portland. Let me tell you about a little diamond in the rough here in town. I had the honor of meeting the owner of Pearl Ace Hardware this morning while he
Excellent customer service. Every sales person on the floor answered my question and helped me find what I was looking for. The merchandise are easy to access, labeled appropriately.
Even though I was thinking i would not be buying anything they allowed me to fix my problem in store. Amazing customer service. Very thankful for the staff and their efforts to help.
Robert was an amazing person to turn to for all of our newbie paint questions. We drove from North Portland to ensure we came to his location on our second visit to pick paint out.
It's the perfect store for old Victorian houses and modern condo's! They know their stuff. But call and make sure they have what you need. But they always have what you need!
My favorite place to go and buy paint and plants! Robert and Drew are the sweetest most helpful people ever! I definitely recommended :) everyone that works here are amazing!
Employees were pleasant to be around even with it being 109° degrees outside. Went with husband bought 2 plants along with a few other items to complete the apartment. ❤️
Super location right off the 405. Great staff who know where things are. Prices a bit higher than Home Depot, but that's too be expected with much better staff ratios.
Very friendly employee helped me to find th material I was looking to purchase, saw me looking around and led me to the right department and found my parts quickly.
I love this store! They have great selection, are very well organized and are so friendly and helpful. I've become a regular since discovering them.
The workers here are ultra friendly and helpful. My go to stop for any project in my apartment. Nice to have such a great store in the neighborhood!
I made a mistake in my paint purchase and the staff went out of their way to help me make it right. Great selection, too. Shop local and shop here!
Better than a big box for clever household dohickeys. Have the basic power tools but you will need somewhere else for the big stuff. Great staff.
Drew, a supervisor, went way above and beyond helping me to retrofit a new bath exhaust fan into an older mounting assembly. Excellent help!
Great customer service. Not the cheapest but totally worth it. And always end up finding something else that you didn’t know you needed.
Samantha, the cashier, could use some customer service training and maybe a conversation on cultural competence. She’s rude.
It’s a little spendy but they have a good selection of all the standard things and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
Good local owned store, friendly staff and prices. Highly recommended! Can't wait till the can cut wood again.
Not the cheapest, best stocked or most friendly but it's there and they've got most of what you'll need
The staff is here is always SO helpful! Highly recommend for all your hardware and houseware needs.
I’ve always loved Pearl Hardware, but their new house plants department, puts them over the top!
A real asset to the neighborhood. People there are always friendly and willing to assist you.
Always helpful staff and tends to have everything needed plus so much more!
Get in get out with what you need. Staff is a 10 out of 10.
Always helpful always find what I need
Always helpful staff.
