Merchandise is great. My biggest complaint is probably one of the employees who did not maintain her social distancing, kept talking none stop near my face (masks were not mandatory at the time), and honestly she doesnt look fit to work that day. Might be a bad day for her, but maybe management should keep an eye on their employees health and energy level. I did keep trying to back away from her, but she kept coming closer and closer and she seemed like she wasnt paying attention or just didnt care. Either way, she seemed nice besides the saftey procedure she needed to be reminded of. I dont want to describe more in this review, because I do love the store. Just that one interaction was very off.

A little disappointing.... I went to the store to have my dogs groomed at their appointment, to find out that the store manager scheduled both my dogs to be cut by a groomer who does not do the types of cut I had previously arranged for my dogs. I'm sure if that detail was ironed out between the groomer and the manager the cuts would have gone great. However, this is now a inconvenience on a busy Monday that will cause me to not to utilize their store or grooming services any further. On a happier note, I was able to find a groomer who was great and at a better price! Bonus!!

I recently got my doberman puppy bathed at this Pet Valu. It was such a positive experience for me and my dobbie! They took great care of her and even used special shampoo and conditioner because I mentioned her skin has been really dry lately. She came out so soft and smelly great. They even dressed her in an ADORABLE bandana. That made my day. I think the groomer's name was Beth? Thank you so much! About the Pet Valu itself, I've always had a great experience here. The employees are always welcoming, friendly and very helpful. Thanks again! See you next time.

I am troubled when I walk into a store and I hear staff members trash other pet related companies. I happen to use and love one of the companies this girl Chantal (I think that's the name I heard ) was speaking about. This is unprofessional and isn't a good look for a locally run business. Businesses should be supporting eachother. My GF had the same experience with inappropriate conversations when she shopped here. We will take our business elsewhere.

Our first experience, we visited on our way home with our new addition to grab a couple of quick things. The staff hooked us up with a fleet of coupons, helped us find all the items we needed, and of course, spoiled our dog while he waited patiently for his new family to sort out immediate needs/wants. It was a lovely experience, and we've returned since to shop at this location because of the great service.

Place was great, people were kind and friendly. Amazing really, this place also has a big bags of puppy food that is not available at petland which is the Purina Pro Plus - Salmon for puppies. We were so happy that there's a big bag for it. Now we can save a little bit lol. Dog wash is what we usually do when we visit and my 5 star rating is for that and for the staff being so polite and professional.

Hats off to the team working here on December 22, 2023. Despite the debt machine issues and a demanding crowd, the staff handled it all remarkably well. Your hard work is truly appreciated. I've been a customer for a little over two years because we value this place and its staff. I wish there was a way to give zero stars to those unpleasant individuals mislabeling your efforts.

I brought my parent’s lab Stella to this location for her first bath this week. She has never had a professional bath before and was pretty nervous. I couldn’t have done it without the help of Chantal. She was so sweet to Stella and went above and beyond to help every step of the way. Thank you Chantal for your kindness and hard work!! Nicest and friendliest staff at this store! We have been shopping here for our little pup since we adopted her 4.5 months ago and it's become our favorite and go-to pet store. The staff here couldn't be nicer. Great selection of products and the staff is very knowledgeable and great with answering questions and giving advice. I bring my dog here for her dog washes and she’s quite anxious but the staff really took the time to get to know her and make her feel comfortable. She gets exited to go here and greet them even though she hates the bath. I really appreciate how they go above and beyond to make the experience less uncomfortable for her because in turn it makes my experience much smoother

I have only had great experiences at this location. The staff are very kind and have excellent product knowledge. I brought my puppy in with me tonight to get grooming supplies, and she absolutely loved all of the attention she got. The girl who helped us took the time to answer all of our questions and helped us pick the right products for our puppy. Amazing service!

The entire staff at this location are incredibly friendly and inviting. They are knowledgable about all types of dog nutrition (specifically for us). I get fast replies to any questions I might have and they carry a great line of food, treats, and merchandise. I also really love a couple of their groomers who are taking great care of my Rotties nails. Bravo team!

Not helpful at all in store. Asked if she could show me where my product is in store because I couldn't find it. She kept showing me the screen and didn't attempt to help or get someone else to help. I just walked out and went to Petland. I have been going to Pet Valu for many years and my last store was amazing (Airdrie Coopers Store) Not sure if I will return.

The staff at Shawnessy PetValu are awesome, very knowledgeable and as a new puppy owner they never make me feel like any of my questions are stupid ones. And their groomer Beatrice...she is absolutely amazing with animals, talking to them through the whole grooming process to make sure they're calm. I take all 3 of my cats there and she's so gentle with them.

Walked in to a decent cluster of employees having a super loud conversation. Which resulted in me having to yell what I was looking for at the only employee who acknowledged me. I DON'T LOVE HAVING TO ANSWER QUESTIONS AT THIS VOLUME IN A STORE. Also, didnt have the same selection that the Deer Run location has. Shopping at that location is far more pleasant.

Great location! Good size, lots of great options and prices are reasonable. Staff are very friendly and attentive. I didn't catch her name but one of the ladies who works there was so helpful in helping me find a pair of shoes for my dog. First pair I've ever bought that she hasn't been able to kick off! This has become my go-to for most of my pet needs.

The staff in the store are great, helpful friendly. However the groomers are not. They are rude, difficult to deal with and do not know how to handle dogs for the first initial grooming. My dog is afraid now to get a grooming due to what he endured at this place.

I brought my mini poodle in for his first puppy haircut. I should Anastasia a picture of the cut I wanted as she said she would do her best as it was his first cut. Well, she did an AMAZING job!!!! I am so happy with his cut and how kind they were to my pup!!

Dog Wash needs major upgrading. Cold water, then hot. Cold, then hot. Blow dryer was cold air so my dog was shivering and it didn't really dry him off. Awkward setup as well. This is also a MORE EXPENSIVE dog Wash than competitors. Very kind workers though!

Going to Pet Valu is like Christmas every day for a dog. Did you go in because their own treats. There's always open range available which allows my dog to have bones and not have them break off in his mouth. I'm very very happy to have found you.
