I went today to exchange some food for my dog as she is very picky and barely eats her food. I have gone to many pet stores to buy food for her and this is the first time I felt truly helped and with a great customer service experience. I want to thank Johnshon from this store for taking his time to explain to me about different brands and the differences between them. He showed me new brands options and the best benefits of them. Also told me different ways to try to change food for my dog to don't upset her stomach. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and caring about my situation with my fussy eater Yorkie. Johnshon also gave me other options in case she had some digestive issues as I have been changing very often her food. He went above and beyond to help me and to advised me based on his knowledge. In previous occasions, not in this store but in all the stores I have visited since I got my pet it is hard to get someone to help u and genuanly explain u different options for u to try. Sometimes I feel I get helped in a rushed way, but this time I felt that he cared about my pet wellbeing. I am very impressed with his customer service skills as his young age. He is caring, friendly, goes above and beyond for the client and he surely made me leave the store with an smile and the best impression of his job, attitude and knowledge. I see him pretty soon to have a management position as all those skills are the core of great service to attract returning clients. Hope the manager sees this review and gives him a raise. From all employees I have treated at petland and petsmart this one is the best by far. Thank u again Johnshon and keep up the good job!

DO NOT not use their grooming service. My dog is a bit timid and a little anxious, in new situations. She is familiar with this store as she attended puppy classes at their location, the trainers are awesome. Last month I brought Tasha in for a grooming and they were concerned because she sneezed on the grooming table and her nose bleed. There were no issues when I got her home and her vet said there was nothing to wary about, Last Saturday, while at the groomer she sneezed and her nose bleed. They put her in a kennel, wet, soapy and half groomed. ( If you call shaving half her body and her head a grooming) they called us to take her home. They stated that she is a sick dog and needs to get a certificate from a vet for her health. I just brought them all her paper work showing her shots are up to date, so they know she has been to a vet. I even called them after the first incident and said she was fine. Dogs under stress can get nosebleeds. What do they do to cause the poor dogs that much stress. Tasha was cold, wet and looked like one of the toddlers had got at her with a pair of dull scissors. I will not bring any of my animals back there for a grooming or purchase any other product or service due to the actions of their grooming Salon.

Do not go to this location!!!!!! Never had such poor customer service as I did today!!!! Been going here for years and it was buy 9 bags of dog food get one free and the last time I was there I bought my 9th bag and the cashier asked if I'd like my free bag and I said no I'd grab it the next time. So today I went to redeem my free bag they said now it's 12 bags? I asked for the manager and he proceeds to tell me that I'd have to buy 4 more bags (so the dog food can sit and go stale)? I said 4? 9+4 is 13 right? He says that 1 bag gets deleted after a year. Pure unacceptable especially after calling up all my purchases over the last year.

Went to get my dog groomed. I asked for all her hair to be 1/4" long. Dont do the ears or the tail and her face to be trimmed right down. Her nails were to be done and anal glands checked. The hair from Inside her ears needed to be removed as well. Her face was trimmed but not right down. There were large patches of hair not even touched. Her nails were not done at all and the rest of her cut was completely uneven. I wont ever go back. There was no pride in the work done and my dog looked like she stepped into a lawn mower rather than go to a groomer.

My favourite place to go to see the borbs, all of their staff are incredibly friendly and caring for their creatures! Over the summer I had to pick up items for a bunny as a first time caretaker, and their small critter specialist I can't remember her name for the life of me was super patient and informative. She really helped to put together the perfect starter kit and gave us a lot of tips to ensure our lil ball of fluff transitioned into the home seamlessly. Love visiting this petland in particular, and will continue to do so in the future!

I have been going here for years, and I have to say they have great staff. I love interacting with the birds they have out, but I would like to see more variety of food for my macaw. I don't feed him pellets and it seems I am down to one choice. I like the product so does Loki, so there is no issue there, other than I would like to give him a choice sometimes. He gets lots of fresh fruit and I give him nuts on the side as well. I would rate 5 star but between price for food (still not bad) and not enough selection, I can't say it is perfect.

Always room for improvement. There was no representative at the station when it was needed. We waited for 15 minutes as the two associates were talking at the register with their backs to their customers. More attention needs to be given to the customers. We purchased a bird and were read the information however there was no extra added information given other than what's written on my receipt and thankfully I put air holes for the animal as the associate did not and I punched the hole before I got in the vehicle.

The manager in the fish department was incredibly rude. My daughter and I bought some fish with their 30 day guarantee. Not only did they sell us fish that were wrong for the size of fish tank, but when the fish died, they were very rude about replacing them. Told us less fish needed to be added over a longer period and would not replace them. When we went back for the remainder, they would not live up to their guarantee. Very disappointing experience!! Won’t go there again!!

They are one of the limited number of pet stores that sell ferret treats and toys. I go here for the peanut butter and bacon treats that my ferrets like. They also sell ferret food, but it isn't very high quality. The highest quality food is called Totally Ferret and can be found at McKnight 24 Hour Veterinary Hospital. Their prices are decent, depending on what you want. I can't get my ferret treats any cheaper, but the litter is a better price online and at other stores.

My family came to buy some fishes for our 20 gallon tank and the staff discouraged us to buy. Its the first time I’ve experienced a business turning away buyers. I’ve had the tank set up with filtered water and right temperature only to be told that we couldnt add more to our 5 small gold fishes. It seemed that the staff was just too lazy to grab the fishes off the tank. My son went home extremely disappointed. Worst customer service ever! I will never come back.

I went here to get my Betta Fish and I would not get one anywhere else! There Aquariums are the most cleanest I've seen in alot of Pet stores in Calgary. They have very good selection of fish and decorations! I love how their Bettas are kept in their own tanks and not in cups. Had a very good selection for the bettas as well as fair pricing! Customer service was top notch as well. I can say this is one of nicest Petlands for the fish section in Calgary!

Petland was such an adventure today. We went in just exploring the different types of pets. Browsed around for a little bit & then was approached by a staff member who ended up giving us the opportunity to handle a parrot, a gecko and some little ferrets (all for a generous amount of time as well). All while explaining so much about each type of animal, some of their behaviours etc. It was a great visit, very informative and friendly staff.

Don't by here. We went to by gerbils here. The manager brad was friendly but also to busy to help so he got this lady and a teen kid to help us. Basic rule - don't ever pick up a gerbil by its tail or like a hawk. They find it predatory - which is exactly what these two did. I was extremely shocked and angry about this. There knowledge of pets is an abysmal. Please go to another reliable store like pet smart or Picses Pet Emporium.

Worst selection for reptile live food ever. Been like this for months. Super worms so old they have become cannibals and are turning into larvae beetles. Crickets are 80 percent dead with no food which makes them wasted food if eaten because not filled with food. Talked to staff and at no time was there talk on fixing it just excuses about new mangers and changes there going thru. Hate to see how the big animals are being treated.

Nice, clean store. Staff has always been friendly and knowledgeable when I've been in. There was a new person on the till who was struggling a bit, she did a good job of informing the people ahead of us that it was her first day and was sorry for the delay, our transaction was flawless. She handled herself well, might help ease some of the pressure on new associates to identify that they are new? Just a thought.

Staff afraid of spiders, shouldnt be caring for spiders lol but super nice! The staff clearly don't know what they're talking about when it comes to their fish department. They talked about overstocking a fish tank as if there's aren't completely overstocked and somehow it causes my fish to die but not theirsClearly some under education going on with their managers. Terrible customer service and rude. Also asked ridiculous personal questions about my house and what I was planning on doing with the animal. I was planning on adopting the thing, also very reluctant to provide assistance to my family multiple times. Maybe it’s because I’m indigenous. Last time my family goes to pet land for any kind of animal care, assistance, or adoptions.

Took my bird in for nail trim and wing clipping. His nails were barely touched, underneath his wings his feathers have started falling out in chunks (it isn't like him losing his feathers during molting) took him to the vet and were told his wings were cut very wrong and he's in a lot of pain. I'm very upset that my little baby is in pain, I will not be coming her again.

Very nice employees. But return policy is unfair. We bought a Holland loop baby bunny a couple months ago. We wanted to return it because our house had a pest problem. We went to petland and asked for a refund. The said we can return it but we won't get our money. But it is still a very nice place!!! ☺ …

I visit this place frequently. The employees are all very friendly and helpful. The pets are always being taken care of. Their prices are fair. They have amazing policies and are always willing to help with any problems or questions you may have If you get a pet and it passes away within 30 days they will replace it! Love this place. This review is specifically about live insects (Superworms, crickets, mealworms and bsfl). Petland has by far the best quality. They are well fed and last a long time because of it. The last Superworms I got from Pisces, never again. They were mostly dead and way smaller than they should be and in containers with hardly any food.

The people here are always really friendly and its a great place to bring my cats while I'm out an about the people there usually love when I bring my babies in. This Petland is a great one to go to. The staff is always very helpful and up to date on the products they carry in the store. This Petland is also an adoption center. I went in to get dog food for my senior dog and I was very happy with how knowledgeable the staff was when helping me choose the best food for my dog.

The place was very beautiful setup. Bright and clean. Items was well stocked with many varieties of pets Items, foods equipment and on sale at reasonable and affordable prices. The staff are very friendly and courteous and very knowledgeable. They give good advice on the products and how to take care of pets.

There's not much in the store! Animals, supplies etc... One of worst experiences I have received. I’d rate this 0 stars if I could. The staff in the Aquarium department are extremely rude and condescending. They don’t know a thing about proper customer service. Definitely not going back. I’d recommended going to the Deerfoot City location with nicer people.

Love brining the kids here, open concept of handling animals is nice. Cat play room, decent options for starter fish, good food brands, prices are competitive. Washrooms have change tables, they offer birthdays for a decent price. Lots of parking Staff are nice We will keep shopping here and visiting

Parkland had a sale on dog/cat food. Had not been to this location before. About 40 cans later, and some confusion on the promo we got it sorted out. The young lady behind the cou ter sorted it out and we confirmed the right products and amounts went through. Amazing help and service from your staff.

This is a fairly big store but not as big as Crowfoot. Staff are friendly and helpful when you can snag one. I was here buying dog food and supplements. Prices are good, especially if you are a Club Pet member which gives a regular discount on many items. Convenient location right of 32 Ave.

This Petland seems to actually care about their animals. Fish tanks are clean and appropriately sized as much as possible. Betta aren't in cups either. Their products are more expensive than othe rpet stores but it's worth it because do the carr they give their animals.

Stopped in to get some dog treats, as I do every month or so. Got 3 items gave them my Petland discount card and no discount. Has happened before. Had some time today to shop them. 2 blocks away at a major grocery store same exact 3 items $20 cheaper. Goodbye Petland.

We came into pet land today looking for some help with a cat tree. An employee by the name of Robert helped us right away with getting the cat tree into our car and was very kind to us. We loved the service from Robert and the rest of the staff that day! Great job :)

It’s a nice pet store. Staffs are friendly and courteous here. We were there for a very brief period and it was all positive. We loved a parrot there. It was big and very cute. They have lots of collections for cats and dogs. I would recommend this place.

Good variety of fish some prices I find way to high and the plants I found the prices extremely high like 13 dollars fir one plant amd I can get the same plant at petsmart for 5 dollars so. The staff were totally friendly amd sweet. And I will be back .

Good availability of products and friendly staff. The cat litter program they offer is a really great deal and definitely something all cat owners should take advantage of. The only thing is I find most prices of other things are really high.

I was not impressed with the store. My kids purchased some bird accessories. Tried to take them back, but they were denied, the response was, "its been more then 30 days, but you can give them to us and we will use them for our animals"

Good place to go for dog food (they have the dog food that no one else has). They have bulk treats as well if you don't want the bagged ones. Always get bone marrow for my boy and he loves them. The toys can sometimes be pretty pricey.

Very expensive. Like $40 for a gerbil? Seems kinda pricey. All other stores sell them for $15 dollars. We would've love to have adopted a little brown one you had but not for nearly 3x as much as PetSmart.

The layout makes it very easy to social distance. Employees are friendly and helpful! They had free samples of kibble when I went and the employee was knowledgeable about the ingredients and brand.

Buy all my ACANA dog food here. And most of the toys and bones. Their bone selection is by far the best. Theres a couple smaller shop with nice bones to. But way better than petsmarts bones.

A huge variety of pet accessories available at this store but like myself if you are solid into fishes, you will not find much variety. They have beginners fish and that is it.

I like coming to this Petland as it one of closer ones to home. I love coming here to see the cats, birds and other pets. They all get their cats and dogs from shelters.
