Horrible service. Refused to groom my dog for his scheduled appointment because he has heart worms. This is the first location that has refused to clean our dog. He’s been groomed several times at PetSmart locations along the gulf coast. Our best visit was in Jackson, MS. where they loved him so much they wanted to keep him. Following that visit, we prepaid for 12 grooming services. We were told that as long as he wasn’t undergoing treatment for the heart worms that he could be groomed but this location refused. The explanation was trash and the customer service was terrible. The Karens at the desk made us feel like our dog would die if they touched him. We completed the pre-check and brought in all his records as requested. Before we got to present them they refused service. No written policy was provided to support the BS they stated. We will not be visiting this location again. This review is for the check-in desk for grooming service. No offense to the groomers, we never got to experience that part.

Can't recommend it. This is the third time I have been to this store and the third time it's not been a good experience. It's fairly small, but that's not the problem. It is very dark inside, that's one thing. Another is, I have never met a friendly person working there. Today, the cashier, was unfriendly and brusque. I have met this young man before and he's always the same. Finally, I got home and looked at my receipt and saw that I did not get the sale price (a "clearance" "must go" price was clearly posted and I made sure I chose that bag) for the 4 lb bag of Blue Freedom Grain-free dry dog food I bought. It was posted at something like $17.87 and I was charged the full price, $18.99. I would not have bought it had it not been on sale. It's not worth a trip back across town to sort this out, but I plan to travel farther and I do expect better service at another local store.

Going to this Petsmart brought me nothing but sadness. The fish department is depressing. The betta cups and the aquariums are very dirty, lots of fish, especially betta fish, in poor conditions, either dead or dying, and bettas have severe fin rot. You still have to pay full price even though they are looking like they are about to die. I don't want to rescue them if I pay full price for a sick premium betta with severe fin rot. I bought fish there and died within a week, replaced them and the replacements also died so I didn't bother returning again. The manager seriously needs to assign an employee to do aquatic maintenance every week or so because the whole fish department looks like it has been neglected for at least a month. People won't buy fish in terrible conditions and that's a loss of profits.

I brought my dog in today to have her groomed, I noticed it was talking long so I called and they told me she was still being worked on, I thought it was little strange because it never takes that long, I pick up dog and when I touch he foot she moving away like she’s in pain, I check he foot only to notice her whole nail is rip out and the skin around it is torn and was obviously bleeding at one time, no one in that’s horrible grooming staff told me my dog was injured but don’t worry they’ll be hearing from. I already felt their service was a bit sketchy I should have followed my first mind and a never brought my dog back there. They are not dog lovers and very unprofessional, if you injure someone pet you tell them so they can at least get the issue taken care of, idiots

Called ahead about having my dog’s nails trimmed and was told to come in between 4 and 5 PM without an appointment. No other information was given to me. Showed up at 4:30 and was told to wait outside while other dogs were to be picked up before I could bring my dog into the salon. At 4:55 they told me I could come back in, then told me that I had to have proof of her rabies shot before they could cut her nails. I tried to call my vet which was closed. She was even wearing her rabies tag she got two months ago where the tag says “Rabies 2020” on it and they refused to help me. I have a profile with my dog’s information in their system including information about her medical history. Never going back here again.

Do not bring your dog to get groomed here Milo has been getting groomed since he was a puppy on 03/28 I brought Milo to get groomed I received a call stating Milo was all of sudden scared of the clippers which I found odd cause this isn't Milo first time at the groomers at 6:23 I received a call stating Milo was ready for pick up I check my invoice it was zero dollars I called back to see why my invoice was zero dollars I get told yeah because we couldn't finish I feel like if ya started and got more then half the job done there was no need to leave my dog looking a hot mess!

They don't deserve not one star..they sold me sick fish that killed all the fish in my tank.. I've had this aquarium and fish since August of 2016.. decided to add a couple of new fish an loss all my fish..then they tell me that the fish machines went down the day before..they knew that their fish wasn't healthy an caused me to loss all my healthy in less then 3 day's after returning to the store with all the new fish dead less than 24 hrs..now my fish are all dying.. I've treated the water but to no avail.. I will never buy anything else from PetSmart on S Claiborne ave

Changing my review due to current circumstances. I am a proud owner of five very healthy betta tanks. Went here to and purchased some tank mates for them and EVERY single betta died within a couple of days of introducing the new fish from this place in the tanks. SOME VERY EXPENSIVE BETTAS. DONT PURCHACE FISH FROM THIS PLACE. They don't know proper fish maintenance. I should of listened to my gut when every tank they had has tons of dead fish in them. If you value your fish please don't buy from this store. They should be held accountable for this.

NEVER take your dog to be groomed here ESPECIALLY this location by Oz when I arrived the receptionist was nice but he had the worst attitude and I should’ve known not to trust him based on his own haircut.. he asked what I wanted and I told him he still cut my dogs entire tail off and left no hair around her face the hair cut is not even close to being even it’s so choppy and terrible with random long pieces of hair and most groomers were not friendly to the dogs or owners will never be back

My daughter (who is in a wheelchair) loves animals and we went into Pet Smart the staff is very friendly. We asked about seeing some Cats. We went into the area where they kept the Cats. Staff very knowledgeable and gave us great info about the Cats that was there. Then to the Exotic animals section. Spoke with staff and he gave us a quick lesson on the Exotic animals they had. Spoke about the care they need the food they eat and more. Great experience....will visit again.

The girl in the front was not professional. She was reading off her iPad and did not say one word to me. I bought a big bag of Royal Canine puppy food and when I sat it on the counter she kinda paused. She clearly did not want to be there. I didn’t say anything until the end and asked was she doing training and she responded very timidly, “studying”, never giving me eye contact. Look I know how rough it is going to school and working but please be engaged.

Oscar the per groomer was very rude. He is very insensitive to the per owners. When asking him questions her is very dismissive and has a very bad attitude. I would not prefer anyone to bring there pet here. He is the worst people’s person in the store. Everyone else had a great attitude and helped me out so much. Oscar should not have the position as a manager because he does not know how to speak to people.

i just tried buying a gecko and i have experience with them. and i tried buying a tank for him and they were trying to force me into buying another 300$ tank when i already have one and i told the lady that and she told me that i have to take a picture of it and show her. worst experience ive ever had and i never dealt with this when i got my first leopard gecko. i will never go back to this pet smart again.

They helped me find a dogfood perfect for my dog-son Rocky who is a15 yr old Maltese. Blind,deaf,BO TEETH AND ALLERGIC TO CORN,GLUTEN, PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING BUT MEAT. THEY INTRODUCED ME TO A NEW FOOD AVITAL I THINK BUT HAS LITERALLY 4INGREDIENTS, LAMB,BEEF, BLUEBERRIES AND CRANBERRIES. BLENDED TO A PASTE HIS TOOTHLESS SELF CAN EAT WITHOUT ME BABY BIRD FEEDING HIM. IT'S DEFINITELY IMPROVED HIS LIFE

At the time of this review the store was relatively new. The store was clean and everything was well organized like pretty much every standard PetSmart. The employees were courteous and helpful. We purchased cat litter, cat food, and fish for our backyard pond. The woman helping with the fish purchase was particularly knowledgeable. Overall a good experience and conveniently located.

They always have excellent service, and great deals. I go every week. I have never had a problem. My favorite store by far. Also the dog trainer Casey is amazing. My puppy is catching on to everything so quickly. I can't recommend this store enough. It's also always very clean, well stocked, and always has coupons. The staff is very knowledgeable and always helpful.

Used the grooming services with a dog wash and haircut. As a new customer I assumed the process would be explained yet it was not. It may be their policy or something but washing a dog before they shave the hair seems a little remedial. The haircut itself was great but the excess hair that layered your clothing and vehicle that's horrible. Not a happy camper

I have been taking my puppy soleil (a mini Australian labradoodle) to this Petsmart for grooming for the last 5 months and they do such a great job!! Especially Rahjanee - I had soleil cut short for the warmer months and was nervous about how she would look but she looks so adorable and rahjanee left me such a nice note. We will keep coming back!!!!!

This place has it all for your pets needs. Food, grooming, toys, fashion, companions, whatever you ay need. One thing I like about this store is while they usually only have the one check-out open about the time I get there, they don't let the line get long and quickly open another register as needed. I'm in and out with my 15 lb. bag of food.

Everyone at this petsmart is very friendly and helpful. We come here to get food for our bearded dragon, and our dog. We love to visit the cats that are up for adoption! It’s a great place to adopt an animal during their adoption events, which happen occasionally throughout the weekend. This store has everything you’ll need for your pet.

Parking was available in front of the store. The overall experience was good. I was disappointed because I could not find a product I was looking for so I had to select a different item. I also had to look for an associate to assist. I received very good service at check out. I will return when in the area.

Oscar and his grooming team are the best. I have been bringing my dogs to them for a couple years and have never been disappointed no matter who grooms them. They always fit me in and care about my dogs. The groomers are very honest about my "spicey" boys behavior and I personally am thankful for it.

Casey (the trainer) was very helpful when we brought our little Harvey in for puppy training. She was patient and supportive as we tried to figure out how to get him to listen....apparently treats help. All of the staff here are very helpful and really know their stuff. Don’t forget to price-match!

No one answers the phone, the menu gives you THREE options: For store hours, press 1. For grooming, press 2. For pet training, press 4. Of course, pressing 0 automatically disconnects you. This is what the world is coming to. Multi-billion dollar corporations that can't even answer the phone.

Took our dog for grooming here for the first time. The staff was friendly and did a good job with the haircut, however our dog got a bad ear infection shortly after. He has never had an ear infection prior to this or after any other grooming visit at other places. So that was a bummer.

Selection always makes.me.wish they had more.and different stuff, but always find something that is "close.enough". Service is polite and friendly...but sometimes not very available. I like the Harahan location better, but mostly.because that location always has cats for adoption.

After I paid $80 to get my 75 pound ddog groomed they had her in the waiting area with no leash, I opened the door to hand them the receipt and she ran out through the store and out into the parking lot. I complained and the manager just stared and said "sometimes that happens".

Petsmart worker Misha was rude and made me go get a coworker to help me because she was lazy to help me at the register. Didn’t have her eat piece in when the lady who helped me was trying to call her the numbers through the mic. Rude customers as well and she handled it poorly.

A pretty good experience every time. They seem to be short staffed a lot as it is occasionally hard to find someone to go grab meal worms from the back. I appreciated their Covid guidelines and how they enforce the guidelines here and have throughout the pandemic.

Groomers pay NO attention to detail!! Over a year and each time dogs are visibly uneven and choppy. It’s like going to barber college- learning as they go and customers pay full price. I reached my limit, I have a few dogs and will gladly find another groomer!!!

This is a pretty good pet store. They can almost always get our lab in for a good scrubbing, too. Signed up for lifetime lessons and they have been through 2 trainers and have not found another. Would give 4, or 5 stars if they got a trainer soon.

The staff is nice and attentive and it's a very clean store. It's just kinda small for a petsmart and they do not carry the prescription foods that many petsmart do typically keep stocked. If what you need is pretty basic it's a good stop.

One of the cleanest, nicest Petsmarts I've been to! The animals all looked so good and well taken care of, everything was clean and well stocked, fast check out even though there was only one girl on the register. I'd highly recommend.

Deserves zero stars for their inhumane practices. Bird and reptiles are neglected in depressing, lifeless cages and tanks. All the fish tanks have dead fish at the bottom and the betta fish are just in plastic cups, literally dying.

PetSmart takes very good care of my dog whenever I come. The staff are always nice, and I've watched how much care they put into grooming each dog. My dog looks forward to getting his hair cut here. Thank you guys for being awesome.

They kept King Julian i their system for a year and half before we found him. Thanks Persmart for keeping him alive and healthy and introducing us to him and Princess Bubble Gum. We always give some money for their animal shelter.

Update your posted store hours. Website and Google listing say open at 9am on Sunday but the door of the store says 10am. Arrived at 9:45am and while I waited saw a dozen other people walk up to the door expecting it to be open.

This place used to be awesome grooming my baby but the last 2 times with was cut. I believe both times was by the same groomer named Jade I think so from now on If he goes back for grooming, I will request a different groomer

Visiting NOLA from Tennessee and this place is the place to go to get your pet needs. Store seems a little smaller than our local Tennessee store, but they have everything you need. Employees are all very friendly!!!!!

The store hours on the website and posted on the store say the groomers are open until 7pm and accept walk ins. Brought my dog in for a nail trim at 4:30pm and was told they were closed for the day- they left early.

My dog got groomed yesterday and we both couldn't be happier! The groom was great, and the customer service STELLAR. Sweet to the dog and reassuring to me, I have trouble leaving her w strangers. Oh and affordable!

They are a little expensive, but they have good quality items. The 4 rating is just because of cost. We are taking their puppy training class and like it. Crazy dog is learning to sit, lie down, leave it, and stay.

Out of nearly ALL fish care supplies. Gives contradictory info on aquarium maintenance. A lot of the stuff they will sell you is toxic for your fish. Incredibly frustrating.
