So I made an order the night of September 30th 2023 for pick up the next day, today Oct. 1st 2023. In the morning of Oct. 1st at 9:59am I received an email notifying that my order was ready for pick up. In the afternoon I go to the store to pick up my item and when I'm there the guy in charge goes to the pick up stand and searched for my name. He doesn't find it and then proceeds to tell me they actually didn't have the item in stock. Which I believe he just assumed because he didn't even check to make sure. He didn't give any explanation as to why I received an email saying the order was ready and why they charged my card. The guy said I should just contact customer service and request a refund. The disrespect for people's time and the "I don't care attitude" is beyond me. Plus the audacity of asking me to just contact customer service for a refund when this was their mistake so the least they could have done was to try and give me the refund right there so I could go buy my dog's food somewhere else. How dare they ask me to just wait for a couple of days for my refund now, how inconsiderate especially when there are so many people struggling to make ends meet but they feel entitled to just play with people's money like that. Anyways I tried to be polite and even said thank you when I left. I then called the store customer service to make a report about this abuse and lack of ethics, imagine that was the only money I had to buy food for my dog. The person I spoke with says that it was a mistake of the computer and when I questioned that, she then says "well the buttons in our cells are to close to each other so they could've been pressed by mistake" So first she says computer snd then she says cellphone. I just can't believe how they think I was going to believe what was an obvious lie, that's an offense to other people's intelligence and even theirs because that says a lot about her IQ really, like how could she think any person would believe that. I feel she was just bullying me and they clearly just cover each other in that store no matter what type of abuse they do to people. They clearly don't care about our pets and neither does Petco. Such a shame. No doubt why the world is so messed up, it's full of hypocrites and people that lack empathy
I had an extremely disappointing experience when I took my dog, Dior, to Petco for grooming. The groomer I had an appointment with, Mia, was shockingly rude and unprofessional from the moment I arrived. There wasn't even a hint of a smile or a warm greeting. She seemed visibly irritated, stating that she had been working since 8 AM, even though my appointment was at 2:00 PM. The situation took a turn for the worse when Mia asked to see Dior's vaccination records. She noticed that one of them had expired just the day before. When I inquired about the possibility of rescheduling the grooming appointment after I could update the vaccine, Mia simply replied with a dismissive "no." She offered no alternatives, suggestions, or even a willingness to accommodate my situation. Her attitude left me shocked and concerned about leaving my beloved pet in her care. Frustrated and deeply dissatisfied, I had no choice but to request to speak with a manager. Thankfully, the manager I spoke with was more understanding and willing to listen to my concerns. They took my feedback seriously and attempted to find alternative solutions, but unfortunately, there were no available options at that time. I walked out of Petco feeling not only let down by the lack of professionalism displayed by Mia but also disappointed by the apparent disinterest in ensuring the well-being of my pet. It's disheartening when you entrust your furry family member to a grooming service and encounter such a negative experience. I hope Petco takes this feedback seriously and addresses these issues to improve the overall customer experience.
The store itself isn't bad, rather the store employees could use some work. Everytime I go inside, it is hard to find someone for help and the only one I can see is on the register. Being that many pet store have closed down, this is the only one remaining in the local area. The selection can vary from time time, same days you find better toys and accessories than others. One thing I can say, the dog selection is always fully stocked compared to the cat section. There usually clothes you can find for dogs and if you are lucky, sometimes cats. There is always pet food stocked which I would praised them for. They also offer grooming for dogs which is also great since this is the only service you can find nearby. It also have same day pick up which is useful when you are in rush. It is a good store that has growth for improvement.

People even went into the grooming office to ask for help & the guy told them he couldn't leave the dssk even when he had know customers at his desk. The guy on the floor was helping one girl, but the girl couldn't make up her mind so you would think the best thing for him to do would be to tell her, please let me know when you've made up your mind, then he walk over the next customer & help them, but know he just ignored everyone who asked him for help. It was the most ridiculous situation I've ever seen from that store, I hope management do better.
Went to this petco last week to find some fish for my new tank. First of all no one knew anything and kept passing me off to other employees that they claimed worked in that department. The aquatic section was not cared for and the tanks had more dead fish than live ones. There was even a man in there with his son who was supposed to get a fish and the child was traumatized at the sight of so many dead fish. When an associate MIKE finally came over I asked why there were so many dead fish he responded that it just happens and started scooping out the dead ones in front of me with no regard as to how I might feel. I ended up leaving without purchasing because I felt that there tanks were too contaminated for me to trust bringing home a fish from them. I am attaching images because it was truly a disgrace.
I did not have a great experience at this particular Petco ( Gateway Mall) the staff was not friendly at all. I was met by two female employees who honestly looked annoyed that I showed up for my 1200 apt. They weren’t completely rude but just slightly above semi professional. Eating lunch while registering my dog isn’t exactly what I expected at least put the food away. I did not feel welcoming when I walked in nor was I met with a smile or a how can I help you ma’am. They were also ridiculously over priced. I have a small 8lb Yorkie that doesn’t require much. We couldn’t get to our normal groomer so we went there for a wash and trim and I was charged $81.00 such a waste of money for a over priced wash and terrible customer service. Unfortunately, I will not be a repeat customer.
Petco always has the products I need for my pet. I'm always able to find what I need whether online or in-store. I did not like my most recent experience at the store due to the fact that I was not able to view a product I was interested in buying. I wanted to purchase a 75 gallon tank and when I asked if I am able to look at the tank before buying, the sales rep told me no. He was not rude about the issue, but the fact that I was not able to see the product made me not buy it. I looked online for moire info but the website informed me to go into the store. I do understand due to the outbreak, we have to implement new rules and procedures.
I went shopping for my dog and turle. Even though they didn't have the dog food that I was looking for, their selection wasn't bad. Went to check on the shampoo and the area wasn't stocked at all. As for my turtle, their selection was non existing. I have been here several times and I always able to get food but not today. And looking for assistance was worse. No one on the floor. No one at the registers. My doggie needed food and that was the only reason why I didn't walk out the store. And why am I signed up for the rewards program if I'm not getting any discount on my purchases??
This location is nice and has a lot to offer but just didn't meet my need this. I was looking for a xs "kitten" collar with a bell, possibly a harness & a simple teaser stick toy with a bell. The collars and harnesses available were for cats cats not kittens so they were too big. The selection was very limited as well, just a little tiny corner wall with a few things. The same went for the cat toy. They had a few but with feathers and things that look like they would be easily destroye. They also seemed overpriced on these items. We ultimately left without buying anything.
The last time I visited Petco which was yesterday I was in a screaming match with one of the groomers. This location clearly higher anybody off the street just to work there. This worker was so rude when I asked for a manager she continued to argue with me in front of her manager while her manager was handling my needs. The manager sent her to the back and this young lady still sat in that chair and continued to argue until I left out the grooming room. This location turned into a joke. A ghetto store with ghetto workers that doesn't know how to work her own job.
Shae is the best groomer at gateway in Brooklyn!!!! She is very personable and I see the love she has for dogs. I started with Petco grooming last year September and because of Shae recommendations I bring my toy poodle once a month!!! Shae is what makes petco at gateway great and we will continue to keep coming for my dog grooming!!! If you looking for a great groomer who will take care of your dog and have them looking so adorable I recommend you try out Shae in Brooklyn gateway mall. You will not be disappointed!!!!
I went to this location to make a purchase because I went online and they said the item was available at this location. The shelves were empty and it was loads of inventory sitting in the back of the store still in boxes not packed out. I asked a employee could they check for the item I was looking for in the back and they said that it was probably in the boxes in the back and that they are understaffed they don't know when the inventory would be packed out. I gave 2 stars only because of the helpful employee.
Remind recently few days, I went to the Petco supplies for dogs n cats very adorable. Selfie enjoying look around the stuff very adorable n cool. Very funny amazed. Only cats adoption for must have payment not expensive. Not real breed dogs no luck as I wish you about same as same for dogs into the Petco shops. Oh I see, nothing else well. and birds, small animals, fishes that all. Everyone else you should have gonna to the Petco shops @manhattan 14th St. union square.
Today I bought my 6 month old female pitbull terrain in to be washed and completely groomed, well to my surprise JuJu did a awesome job grooming my dog she got the kennel odor off my dog and told me how to train her with training treats. JuJy is truly amazing and she is so kind and has a lot of love for our dogs. I recommend JuJu to groom your dog on it's next visit. I will definitely as for JuJu on our next visit next month. Thank You so much JuJu☺
My only complaint is how unorganized the store lay out is and it can be quite overwhelming upon first entrance. Theres a woman, whose name escapes me, whom assisted me and gave me tips about my feline companion. I did an order pick up and although some items were missing, we scoured the store together and found it. I really appreciate the banter and she is a wealth of information. She had glasses and brown hair. I will edit when I remember her name.
Ruedeana is one of the best dog groomer. I took my two babies there to get groomed. She was very kind and patient with me. She had them looking good. She explained how to take care of my puppies hair and which brush to use to prevent matting. I loved how she spoke to other customers with kindness and compassion and respect. She even stayed later so a customers could get her dogs hair washed. Now that's good customers service.
Took my dog there for grooming this morning and left home , 20 minutes later they called me saying that they can’t do grooming to my dog because it’s not letting them touch his face and his nervous , and because he is too old , it’s a small dog and he don’t bite , but they already did his back and didn’t finished , they didn’t want to do it , that’s not fair , the stylist name was Maia , I will never use that place again .
Employees will openly lie to you if they are in the wrong. Was told my order was cancelled by me or someone on my behalf from a store associate but when I called customer service they said the store cancelled my order….Instead of trying to fix THEIR mistake they tried to get me to re-purchase my item for full price even though it was bought almost 50% off on sale. Don’t let them swindle you. Skip this location.
Petco, whenever I shop at Petco for my animal or pets or whatever it is I'm shopping for when it comes to pets animals and my little doggy. I always stop at the local Petco because they always have what I need and I get to spend some time and see what is new and what I can purchase for my dog. Great grooming services. I love this location, I took my dog there twice with two different groomers and both times I was really happy with the way they treated my dog and the everything they did. From the way they treated him to the great price. The Groomer Donald did a great job, my dog was very calm and comfortable. Thank you so much Petco I'll be coming back soon.
I took my Stella here for her first grooming appointment and was very happy with the service provided by Karla! She is a real dog lover of all breeds big and small - her care for animals is apparent. You can see how sweet and gentle she is with them…Stella was strutting after her appointment LOL! We will be back for a monthly visit to keep her squeaky clean.
I only went there to pick up some Goldfish. I didn't explore the whole store. There is plenty of parking outside and the store looks large and well stocked. I'm not sure if I got there at a bad time but The store seems to be understaffed. I only saw about four or five other customers at the time I was there but it was pretty hard to find someone to help me.
Love this location! My husband and I always get excellent service here. It's also one of the few Petco locations that carry European nightcrawler worms for our Oscar fish. Their selection is excellent, the fish food goes pretty fast though!! And bring a bag, since 2020 Petco has been really inconsistent with having bags and they usually don't have any.
Seems.like a very nice organized location. I asked a staff member for assistance and she was quite helpful and knowledgeable. The only thing I noticed is that they are lacking any snakes, reptiles for sale and cats and dogs for adoption. I'm not sure if this is a common occurrence but it was my observation on the day I went. Otherwise a nice place.
Dead fish.... poor treated lizards and a Dog grooming area what isn't fit for prison, always some new dead fish. Don't even bother just buy supplies from Amazon. Workers just don't care and ignored me when I pointed out the dead fish. ( UPDATE) THIS PLACE NEEDS TO SHUT DOWN!!! Dead frogs, dead Bettas, dirty tanks. Edit. Place keeps getting worse.
The condition of this place was really bad, Especially the rat and hamster cages. It’s really disappointing to see the conditions of these animals one of them even looked sick. This is not a proper habitat for these animals. Rats and hamsters are animals too. If I could I would give a zero stars for the condition for these animals.
The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. My ONLY bad thing to say is that the restrooms were really gross. Probably because the staff is busy with customers giving fabulous customer service. But please, clean the restrooms and make sure they are stocked, its also amazing that there is a bathroom, so I am grateful for that.
Supplies were low for parakeets. Only 2 staff members at work, which was ridiculous. The gentleman that was working the front door,cashier, and store help was fantastic. He was worth going in. He needed a raise. How as a big franchise run a store in a busy mall in that manner. It was ridiculous. 2 ppl at a time to enter.
Do NOT waste your money here for grooming! Worst hair cut ever! Left hair between my babies toes and she said she brushed my babies teeth but rushed before I could take him and sprayed something minty in his mouth. I don't believe those 2 did anything to my baby and I wasted almost $100 on what I wanted for him!!
The place was sparsely full. I think I came before a shipment. Still the people are nice and will work with you. They try to help the fish but I'd recommend calling ahead before going there to make sure they have what you are looking for. My little Kevin is now happy exploring his aquarium.
The staff was very friendly and helpful and explained we could order products online and pick up in-store ahead of time which is great. The staff that acted as a personal shopper for me got everything I asked for and was very nice. The staff was also very knowledgeable which I loved.
This location has dropped significantly in appearance. Walked inside and it was dark in lighting and only 1 item per peg. I asked the cashier when is the last day of business? Yes, it gave me closing the business realness. It's so not like the other locations, i.e Sheepshead.
Great place to stock up on stuff for your pets. Friendly and very helpful staff. Great inventory. Shelves well stocked with good variety of products. We had our dog trained there. Wonderful and knowledgeable trainers. Came away with great tips to better handle our dog.
There's dead fish in their tanks and there was hardly nothing in stock. Staff is professional and friendly expect when I returned a dead half moon betta for a refund but the clerk eluded it was my fault the fish perished. He was rude but everyone else is respectful.
Staff is very helpful and kind. If you need anything around the store, they will point you in the right direction. I've been shopping there for years and never met a rude employee. I would highly recommend buying your pet products from this location.
The store is good and the employees are very friendly, they help you with everything you need. the cashier made me recommendations and offers and gave me coupons. I always go there to buy everything for my turtle. I highly recommend this store.
A bit under staffed and they need more merchandise. I was looking for a disposable carrier for my cat since he was dieing. I spent $60 on one that was spacious although overpriced. The young lady at the cashier very polite and professional.
My puppy mainly eats raw/fresh. So I come in for specific items - Wellness brand dry food, Wellness Core RawRev dry food, Freshpet Vital Grain-free for puppies. I usually find what I need, but the line to check out is always a nightmare.
Left me on hold for 35 minutes in the middle of the day then did not pick up after calling back. Very inconsiderate customer service . You would think people working in customer service would have some sense of customer appreciation
Service was great, store had what I needed. Always do price check with other stories to get more competitive prices. Some items can be bought cheaper elsewhere. However, if you show proof of cheaper price they will honor it.
My Baby Athena got her shots there they were very friendly and very professional, they treated my little one with care. I took my other doggie Bobo for a haircut and and grooming and the did a wonderful job. Ty so much petco
Unfortunately what I went for wasn't there (turtle food) I had to get some little sample size packages only two was left of that.. and my babies gotta eat I got them.. kinda a waist of time going but overall I love Petco..
Came in for a store pick and I ended up needing something else. The staff was friendly and readily available to offer assistance which is rare in the pet store. The store was clean and well stocked. I have zero complaints
This store never has anything..empty shelves. Lacks staff, of course some are knowledge but many others don't have a clue. The entire store is a mess, boxes everywhere, dirty mop and water at the entrance.
Went there to purchase my Daisy treat. She loves the wholehearted chicken breast frozen chicken. In store for 3oz it's $12.50 online for 7oz it's $17.00. You get twice more for $4.00 . It makes since!
Employee are great but I believe the understaff. They we out of suck. There were more customers in need of help then Employees. They tried to help but could not reach the customers.
I order from here for delivery, it's reliable and easy. Keep in mind that you usually will not get the items within only 1-2 hours (as it says), but that's fine with me.
