I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the experience I had at your grooming facility this morning. As a long-time customer, I have always trusted your brand to provide excellent service to both me and my beloved pet. However, this morning's incident has left me feeling let down and disrespected. My dog and I arrived at your doors at 7:58 am, as we had a scheduled grooming appointment for 8 am. Despite waiting outside for ten minutes in the rain, no one came to open the doors for us. Meanwhile, the groomer we were scheduled to see, was sitting in their car in the parking lot the entire time. I attempted to call the number provided, but received no answer. Frustrated and hungry, I decided to walk to a nearby Dunkin Donuts to pick up some breakfast. Fifteen minutes later, upon my return to Petco, I was informed by another employee that the store manager was running late and was the only one who could open the store. This information left me feeling even more upset, as it seemed there was a complete lack of communication and coordination within your team. It is unacceptable that a scheduled appointment could not be honored because of the absence of one person, especially when there was no indication or warning provided beforehand. As a result of this experience, I was forced to cancel my appointment and strongly reconsider using your services in the future. This has been a considerable inconvenience and waste of time. I urge you to take steps to prevent situations like this from happening again in the future. Your customers deserve to feel respected and valued, and it is clear that this was not the case in my situation.

This Petco’s mission is to lose as many customers as is humanly possible, while also treating caged animals as basically, unfairly and poorly as possible; compromising quality of life and overall customer satisfaction for max profitability. Their teen employees start kicking people out (all without making eye contact or saying ‘thank you’ ever) at 8:40pm but then as you hold 50lbs of stuff, will NOT acknowledge or check you out if it’s the last thing they’re paid to do. Zero customer care—frightening to imagine how that translates for the animals in their “care.” I have a 14 min video of the checkout line- it’s laughable what a joke it is with 4 workers dawdling joking standing around not helping me - waiting for me to walk out and not spend 117$ same every time really. 3 stars because they’re open 7 days/week and I need them when in a bind. Any good, quality pet food/supply stores in the area? Glad to boycott this spot and it’s systematic torturing of humans and animals and they don’t have to care as they’re still controlling the market putting every mom n pop shop out of business

i used to love coming to this petco until they got a new “GM” almost everyone there is nice and friendly EXCEPT him. it’s like he goes out of his day to make not only the customers but also his staff miserable. as i was shopping i heard him screaming and cursing out multiple different customers. he is super unprofessional and if this petco wants to do good they should get rid of him. i don’t know if he’s on a power trip or not but he’s also incredibly rude to the customers as well. all i was trying to get was cat food and he made me leave hysterical crying. if i could give 0 stars i will. i will never come back here and i will make sure no one i knows goes there as well. incredibly disappointed

Today was such a wonderful day not only because of the Splendid weather we’re having but also due to the superb customer service I received from Alexis at this location. From the moment I came into the store so she was busy with another customer but she was very observant saw that I needed assistance and I have the earliest convenience made her way over to help me. Alexis was very patient and very thorough; her suggestions and knowledge came in quite handy while helping me with my fish needs/concerns. She truly displayed exemplary customer care and although I live on the other side of Queens, I will gladly travel the distance to this location to receive her assistance. Thank you greatly

I went to this location to purchase fishes. There were 3 types of fishes (posted) on sale. After getting the fishes from an employee, I was informed by the cashier, it's not the fishes on sale. I paid in advance for the fishes she told me thats on sale returned to the same employee after waiting 20 mins of her avoiding me, only to be told by the third employee that the fishes on sale are no longer available. I asked the employee if the fishes on "sale" are not available, why are the signs still visible? ... crickets, no response (followed by a blank stare). Moral of story, I wasted my time and won't return to Petco, the customer service is TRASH. I'll support a local business.

Groomers wasted my time across 4 visits. I tried doing a walk-in for nail clipping (appointments not available for that online) and each time it was either too busy or my vax were insufficient (contrary to reqs given online). The last visit we finally got in and were told no muzzles. My dog is nervous around strangers trying to pick him up and needs one not to bite. So we never got in. Again, the info online didn't mention this so everything we did ended up being a waste of time. Fine if that's their policy, but we could have been told this online or on any of the previous 3 trips. I hope this place goes out of business.

Whenever I go in they usually have one person on cashier and I can never find anyone on the floor , on a Saturday they had two cashiers, and one person in fish . Walking around I see they keep bettas in the freshwater tanks . These bettas were cramped with 30 Glofish, gouramis , and even crabs . I spoke to a manager and he said “ oh someone did that last week , I’ve been working on it “ it doesn’t take a week to scoop a couple of bettas out of these tanks . I know the cups aren’t great either but , putting them in a tank where they get harassed/ stressed out by other fish is not better .

I visited 9111 Metropolitan Ave, Rego Park, NY 11374 (PETCO store). It seemed as if the store was closing (for good). Shelves empty: many people to help (corporate waste): I would suggest that during times of low volume, the store turns to community work, Invite the customers to have their animals praised by your staff—free training to help customers better enjoy their pets. Although you can't supply what they need, you must replace the shopping cart with goodwill. They are still in your sore, and I will wonder to see what I could take home today.

My experience at Petco was incredibly disappointing. The grooming service was a complete disaster. They shaved off my cavapoo's beautiful coat without consulting me and charged me for unnecessary extras. The lack of staff on the floor was also frustrating, especially when I noticed the bettas being cramped and stressed out in overcrowded tanks. Despite addressing the issue with the manager, it seemed like little had been done to resolve the problem. I won't be returning to Petco based on this negative experience.

Absolutely love their service. We went their for a cat cage and a toy without knowing that they frequently have discounts on the website. The staff helped us with the price match (though it ended up that the products we bought have the same online prices). We used to have a cat bag. But Oreo tore it apart. The cat cage (not in the picture) is strong enough so far. I hope that Oreo will not be able to chew on the hard cover cat cage… The toy became their best friend in one second. ❤️❤️

I finally started my freshwater fish-tank hobby! I’ve been doing some extensive research to provide a hospitable environment for my aquatic friends and my family and I are Enjoying it so far! We have 1 tetra, 2 mollies, 2 snails and 2 plants so far. I’d like to give a special shout-out to Steven, Gio and Chris who all helped me out with decision making. I would give 5 stars, but the final star will be added when a sufficient amount of high demand fish are in stock like Plecos!!!

Staff is very nice but some are not always so eager to help. The company is not at fault, it's just some workers with their own personality and work ethics. I complain about this and management was very helpful to correct the situation. I now see that this store seems to want to be as professional as possible and it's what they strive for. I will continue to come here and recommend this store to anyone.

We got our 3 year old Papillon groomed with Jenny at this location. We were very happy about the 8am availability! Jenny was extremely informative and kind with our fur baby. We will be going back to her again she did an amazing job on our dog as long haired dogs like ours can be tricky. This was her first time being groomed and was well worth it so wont be the last!

I wish the manager would restrict dog owners from allowing them to jump on customers especially while waiting in line. Not everyone is a dog person and its very nerve-wrecking to have a huge dog jump on you. They also should make the dog owners clean up after the dogs they allow to run without throughout the store. I saw several piles of droppings.

I would've rated five stars but there's was this one guy who kept running his mouth and I got tired of waiting for service from him. But when I got to the counter the young man got the plants I wanted from the fish dept. He's redeemed the other guy. No names mentioned because I wanted to share the experience but condemn anyone for lack of service.

I respect a place that refunds a hamster after I paid for it and then went back to area to collect him and when I asked “will this other breed blend well with my existing hamster,” he stopped dead in his tracks and looked me in my face and said “oh no…no…it will be really gruesome…I’ve had people return hamsters shredded from violence.”

First and last time taking my cavapoo there for grooming ! I paid a lot of money for them to totally shave all her beautiful coat because it was too matted they said . They added all these extras to the bill like “specially medicated shampoo “, and other things that I didn’t ask for . Not happy , won’t go back there

I had to come on here & leave a review because the groomer that goes by the name Briana is freaking amazing! Very professional, kind & knows what she’s doing! She’s very good at what she does & she honestly saved the day for my fur baby & myself! Thank you so much!! Definitely sticking w/ her from here on out!

It's a nice big store and you get mostly what you need for your pet, but I almost gave it 3 stars because it's super under staff. And when you finally get a staff they are in a rush to do w.e you stop them from doing, not the staffs fault but 2-3 staff for a huge store like that is not enough.

I'm giving this store one star because there was only two employees in the store which means no assistance when needing help while shopping. Furthermore I dropped something in the parking lot me and my husband both have been calling the store and no answer. The phone just rings then hangs up.

The Petco groomers at the metropolitan Avenue store are just amazing.! They treat your dogs so kind and gentle. They are great with the pet owners too. The store itself is stocked. The employees are knowledgeable with the items in the store. This store will be my new go to.

It is in a very convenient location for me, has its own private parking, and they usually have what we need. The only downside to this store is that the shoppers at the shop are ignorant enough to leave piss all over the store and don't bother cleaning up after them.

I’ve been a few times and it’s tough to get assistance. If it’s the weekend, forget about it, but even on a weekday they could be slammed depending on the day. They have a good number of dead animals in the display fish tanks which is also not great.

The birds are freezing! The temperature in the store is too low for the birds and they do not have adequate heating. This is not normal behavior. Please do something about it or the birds will die of hypothermia. This is abuse!!!

It has what I need and Nulo brand is finally in there too but the long line at the cashier is just frustrating. I feel bad for the cashiers as they're probably overwhelmed too. Best to buy online and just have things delivered.

I remember when this PETCo opened it was a shining star, now it is a sad, dim shadow of what it used to be with dead fish in tanks. Hope they can swing this around- in the meantime sticking to wagging tails down the street.

I had to return a bag of treats that I ordered online because it was slightly opened. When I was there I saw training classes for dogs and grooming prices. I wish they listed full service costs as well.

One of the last pet supply store in the area for miles. They usually have all the Dog and Cat food you can need with decent prices. They also have parrots and parrokies. Fish and crickets.
