So my review is going to be as a Produce employee, in regards to the customers at La Festa... My name is Christopher, I work in produce at La Fiesta at Ingram and Callaghan and it is a joy and a delight to go to work each day and serve the community... The psychology behind customer service is, that some people ,sometimes have a bad day and they come in grouchy. People are human... And I tell the young employees who might be inexperienced , never to take things personally because, you never know what happened 10 minutes before a person came into the store. Always greet people with a smile, a kind voice and do your work with all your heart and with a spirit of excellence, that it may go well for them... Doesn't matter if somebody says hello or smiles back because genuinely, people whether they know it or not ,t want to be recognized. After all, if it wasn't for the great customers that come in every day, I would not be paying my rent... You never know what somebody might be going through and the healing a kind word ,a smile or a handshake , this kind of impact can go a long way...I am on a extended leave of absence .I have to have surgery for a hernia so, I have not been to work for a week and I really do miss the people and my fellow colleagues... I hear a lot of people complaining about the Hispanic and or Mexican-American community who don't speak English hey.. well, I don't speak Spanish and I now understand what it must be like for a person that comes to this fine country and cannot communicate... I am empathetic towards non-english-speaking customers and I try my best to communicate and whatever way necessary to make sure they are taken care of and make sure more importantly, they feel welcome... So to the customers of La Fiesta, I say God bless you and we appreciate each and everyone of you and we couldn't do that La Fiesta thing without you... Come back and see us, we'll leave the light on for ya!!!

Recently went to purchase produce. I noticed the produce has gone up in price significantly in comparison to larger grocery retailers. But the reason for the one star is due to a cashier who was extremely rude and unprofessional. As he scanned my items, I inquired about a price that on the shelf showed differently than what it scanned. He became angry and ranted about the fact that he doesn't set the prices. I was stunned that he raised his voice and waved his hands about. I simply pulled out an item from a bag he had already packed and scanned to show him what I was asking about. It was a different flavor but the label had the same price, though it scanned differently. He then asked me rudely, where did you get that?? I honestly thought I was witnessing this guy going into a melt down. I asked him to just take the higher price item off and tried to calmly explain that he just scanned it. This whole experience left me dumbfounded. I told him it wasn't a big deal that I was just asking, but this seemed to upset him more. He stumbled reluctantly to say it was just a misunderstanding but I don't think so. When I first approached the register, I greeted him and he never responded or acknowledged us. I just figured he was in his own deep thoughts. Little did I know he was off his rocker. I will not mention his name but just his first initial. ..S. I hope he doesn't treat anyone else with such disdain. I will not be going back again.

I love shopping at Fiesta Grocery Stores they have unique items that I can't normally get at other grocery stores. Their store management and associates are always very helpful and pleasant. I love buying various meats there at very reasonable prices.Their briskets, ribs and steaks are always very very good cuts and reasonably priced. I recently found that local privately owned restaurants obtain their meats there for the same reasons. Their Mexican bakery provides authentic Mexican pastries and flour tortillas made daily and both are reasonably priced and stay moist and very tasteful for an extended time frame. Their soft drinks are always very reasonably priced as well. I just love shopping there. I get great bargains and I recommend them highly. I hope you give them a try, compare prices and you'll be amazed with the savings and how you'll continue obtaining quality merchandise at a lower price/cost! Sincerely Ms Barrientes

This place is immaculate. It is so clean you could probably eat off the floor. The bakery has a plethora of baked goods, doughnuts, and pastries. Very enticing to look at to say the least. It is stocked well with staple items throughout the store and is much bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside. They have a service center to pay bills and such, play lottery tickets. There is a vendor inside that sells the usual Hispanic cultural/tourist items, like lotteria games and t-shirts, along with jewelry, plushes and stone collectibles. There is even a restaurant inside, that is always packed, so you know it must be good. Even the bathrooms are clean. I was pleasantly surprised by my whole experience. It is closer to my house than the HEB nearby (I wouldn't recommend going to that HEB) so I have a new place to go to if I need to grab something quick or pick up some breakfast on the go. Highly recommend.

They've improved somewhat since changing from La Fiesta but you'll definitely want to check the items expiration date before purchasing anything. Just about every other trip, I realize AFTER purchasing, that at least one item is WELL PAST it's expiration date. Also, they list their customer service counter is open until 8pm but they close (seemingly) whenever they want. It varies greatly! I have gone as early as 5:30 or 6, with someone still behind the counter, and they were already "closed". It's happened several times... Just a heads up, if you're needing a money order, etc. On the positive side, the produce is fresher, the pricing seems to be a bit more reasonable, and the customer service has improved. Also, they now have a full meat market and MOST of the time, it's good quality and with better than average prices. I'll re-rate when I don't see expired product on the shelves or in my grocery bag.

The meat specials are pretty good, however the veggies always seem to look past their prime. HEB has the best veggies. This being a small store, they don't have much of a selection and their prices are higher than walmart. The store itself looks pretty clean and organized and the staff is friendly, but the bathroom is just gross. I'm not sure the dairy is being kept at the right temperature. I always see leaks and it feels pretty warm back there. The bakery and restaurant is pretty good. I love their breakfast tacos. One of the security guards is a bit of a creep. He was just openly staring at me and made me feel really uncomfortable. Not sure if he still works there. Hope not. So basically, shop here for meat specials, bakery and restaurant only. Go to Heb for fruits and veggies. Then head to walmart for anything else.

I went into the store to buy some chicharones. I asked. The man in the butcher if they were fresh, she said oh yes they’re very fresh. We make them every day because we sell out so I purchased some to the total of $11.. they were burnt they were hard so I took him back the following day. The manager sat there and argued with me and told me that they do not take things like that back even though I showed him that they were burnt and they were not edible he said we don’t do that. It amazes me that there is no more Customer Service in Anything managers nowadays just don’t care about Customer Service I mean they’re spending my hard-working money that I worked hard to get into your grocery store to be sold inedible stuff where is that right?

  • Ellen Rosseett

This place is awesome if you have coupons. Regardless of how many coupons I have, their staff is friendly throughout the whole transaction, unlike these other two big grocery chains (H and WM) in San Antonio. H and WM staff act as if you are the most annoying person after the tenth coupon and none of HEB or WM staff has any knowledge of the store's coupon policy. That's soooo annoying, I am so glad this grocer provides us a choice, and a better/friendlier shopping experience!!! Love IT!! Now that HEB will no longer combine (yellow) store coupons with manufacture coupons, I hope La Fiesta reaps on these benefits, as I am sure their business will get a boost in sales.

  • Catherine Kinkead

Despite the facelift and renaming of the store, y’all seem to maintain the same terrible standard when it comes to code checking your food, especially the fresh food/dairy/meat. My family and I just visited the store for some of your “fresh” salsa rojo and come back only to find it is over several days out of date. There is no excuse for this and the one you offered my husband isn’t acceptable, because this is NOT THE FIRST TIME! There has been several occasions where this has happened and I don’t understand how you don’t strive to do better. It seems we can’t always trust what we purchase at Poco Loco. It’s very disappointing…

I have been a customer LA FIESTA for many years! I moved to the other side of town and they only have Walmart and H‑E‑B to shop in the prices are ridiculous I wish La Fiesta still had the Ad mailed to everyone’s email address but they no longer do it. I love LA FIESTA SO MUCH I WISH I COULD STILL DRIVE TO BUY SOME GROCERIES THERE BUT I AM NO LONGER ALLOWED TO DRIVE! PRICES ARE GREAT THE MEAT IS FRESH AND FINELY PREPARED ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ASKED THE MARKET IF YOU HAVE A PREFERENCE. PRODUCE HAS THE CHEAPEST PRICES OF ALL OVER TOWN. THEY ARE ALWAYS FRESH AND CLEAN! I PREFER BUYING EVERYTHING THERE WHEN I HAVE A RIDE TO TAKE ME.

  • David F. Mendez

The store was clean, isles free of clutter, items easy to find and lots of good deals. The baker of course serves fresh bread and mexican sweet bread plus a restaurant during certain hours. You can make payments, buy loto tickets and money orders there as well. The cashiers where curious and had great smiles. Everyone seemed to love working there which is a big change and relief from other grocery stores where you want in and not only can you smell them but also see it in the employees faces, here it was complete enjoyment the whole way thru the shopping experience. Will be going back.

I love la fiesta for their meats they're very inexpensive the ones that are on the newspaper it's usually the breast chicken and the pork they do run specials on regular meats you take a chance when you buy their avocados because the majority of the time they're avocados are bad anybody that shops there will tell you that it's a risk I rather go to the 99 cent store across the street and buy avocados but the good thing is that the lines are short if you have one item it's okay the groceries are more expensive regular groceries

  • Desiree Lopez

Clean store, friendly staff, short lines, convenient location for me(when I don’t feel like driving lol). They have good prices on meat but for other things not really. They do have good coupons in the news paper like this week I believe the original Philadelphia cream cheese was a dollar!!! I always go there to get the pre sliced watermelon for kids and it’s like 7 maybe 9 slices for a little lower than $2.00 they have a Bakery inside they make good upside down cakes! I believe you can buy tacos n stuff as well.

  • Anthony Gonzales

This place is a real foods library. Rows and rows of food, just like you've seen in every other grocery store/foods library you've been to in the past. There's a Mexican restaurant inside that sells breakfast food that I'd pass on, a bakery w hardly any flies, a drink place w Mexican flavors, and even a merch store if you need a loteria fix or a sequenced spurs cap. In short, if you live nearby u can go here and buy food. Be nice to the butcher coz I heard the head butcher left and he's doing his best.

  • Gina H

Small grocery store chain in San Antonio but large selection of products. This location has a bakery and restaurant. I always shop for meat products at La Fiesta because they always have sales compared to the big chain market. They also carry a lot of Mexican products that locals like. Though some items may be higher in price the other low cost items and coupon items make up for it. Stop by for your grocery and other item needs, I think you'll find what your looking for here.

  • Royal Justice

Called the corporate location to make a complaint about two weeks ago. A gentleman and a high position heard my concerns and said that he would investigate them. It's been two weeks since I heard from anyone so I hope that this is very detailed investigating. I was highly disrespected and embarrassed at this location. if upper management it's not willing to correct this problem then I'm sure the public would love to hear about the issues that occur at la fiesta supermarkets.

  • Jesse Yantis

This is not one of those fancy shops. I watch the sales and you can really get great deals on meats, vegetables, and certain other foods. Be sure to get their sales adds online the coupons can really help to get needed items like eggs, sour cream, and sodas. You just have to watch. My wife really enjoys the meats and the pork prices are dropping for tamale season. The store has been a place for my budget shopping for over 25 years and I still go back on a regular basis.

  • jesus lives

I've been going to the store buying food there mostly meat because the meat is at a great price. We have meat for dinner every night. We noticed every night and next Day everyone in our house gets stomach cramps and we were not sure why we're were getting them. Then we decided to not eat the meat from p locos. The cramps and pain started to improve then healed completely. Something is up with the meat and I should have the inspector make a visit.

  • Phillip Duran

Great specials on meat and chicken, great products, but during the week,in the last 3 weeks, the men at meat counter send people to meat fridge. When you try to order they'll rudely tell you they have the same thing already packaged like they don't want to work. The manager tells you the same thing. And make sure the advertised price is what you're paying on meat. They often give you regular price, watch your labels

  • Dianne Suniga

If you check your sales that comes in on Tuesday that starts on Wednesday you can really find some great prices on some things Transcendence last week they had Blue Bell ice cream on sale you just have to spend the $10 there in order to get the ice cream at that price which is easy and they had a lot of other things on sale too so and still get the ice cream price so easy and everybody here is very friendly

  • Diane Castillo

The inside of the store is very clean and pretty well stocked most of the time. I love their meat deals , great bargains . The bakery has very good homemade tortillas and sweet bread. The lines are short compared to HEB. The only reason I didn’t rate them a five is because of the outside appearance/parking lot. It could use some touch ups. Otherwise this is my go to store for quick pick up.

  • Patsy Baez

This store was very dirty in appearance, outside was especially dirty, the grocery carts are sooo old, dirty, unable to find a decent one to put my food in it. It's, old, dirty, this place needs to seriously be cleaned up n need new carts, baskets, n employee moral seemed down! I had to walk away! Used to be a favorite place to shop for better prices, fruits, n Mexican ingredients.

  • GLORIA RENDON

Nice clean store. Great produce department. A little pricer than HEB or Walmart but alot less people to deal with. Check out Is pretty fast. I gave it a 4 star because being a small store they have a limited selection of brands. Every time I go there am impressed with the store The shelves are always faced and the floors shiny and clean.

  • Frank Rodriguez

Why have an express lane 10 items or less and a lane for large orders, when you are going to make me wait with my three items while the cashier helps the other lane and makes me wait just open one lane and have to people on that lane. Stop pretending both lanes are open when clearly it's only open when it's convenient for cashier.

  • Jeffrey Harding

This store is much nicer than the Blanco store. They had most of the advertised sale items out. Some of them were not and of course those were the ones that were the best deals. Love the weekly deals this place has if they were in stock. We have come at different times of the day and different days too.

  • Paul Nguyen

Just rename/rebrand to new supermarket Super Mercado Polo Loco Supermarket a few weeks. New Management. Super spacious and they just renovated with new light, new asile and lighting and designs in the market. You have to check it out yourself. Highly recommend for any Mexican products and visitors.

  • Claudia

Very clean and very friendly staff. It smells amazing to me when I walked in. Reminds me of home. I grew up in a majority Hispanic town and the smell if fresh produce, tacos and bread is what I picked up. The shelf stocker and the cashier were helpful and seemed to be in a good mood. Will return!

  • Phyllis

It's always kept clean the prices are still affordable the staff is willing to stop what there doing to go in the back an get the item no longer on the shelf the cashiers are friendly the atmosphere is like a family they have great sales every week it's a store I wish we had more of

  • Marisol De La Cruz

I was super impressed by this place. I received excellent customer service. Christopher in produce was great! He taught me how to choose a watermelon. The gentleman in the meat department was about to clock out but saw me & was happy to help me. Will definitely come back.

  • lidia diaz

I give this store a "10" I love this store! The workers all tell you " good morning" and "hello" "have a nice day" I was feeling down this morning and I went to buy some stuff I came out all smiling. I hope they keep doing this! And the groceries are great....

  • Daniel

Great prices on meats, with a good selection. Cheese is over priced along with sodas and other items. Fresh tortillas and bakery a plus. They even serve hot food and the breakfast tacos are great. Avoid the restrooms, they are pretty bad and stinky.

  • dennis hape

Prices on most vegetables very good as well as on poultry and meats. However meat is of very low quality with almost no marbling. Most of the products on the shelves however are at convenience store prices. I mentioned the high prices to

  • Melissa t11

Love the deals this is what $80 worth of food is including chicken thighs, boneless chicken breast, beef fajita, boneless pork ribs, hamburger meat, bacon, lunch meat, avacados etc! Beware of the bathroom right now the smell is horrible!

  • David Myers

Good prices, bored and often unfriendly staff. Has some cleanliness problems. Always have good to great meat prices. Limited stock on most things. Has a feel of a place that's about to go out of business but somehow keeps plugging along.

  • gilbert orosco

Meat market management and store management don't know what their doing! How do you put something on sale but don't have enough for you to look at. 5 big managers there but didn't go look until I left the basket and said I'll go to HEB

  • Ivette Torres

Everything pretty much is expired. Have to look at everything carefully. I must say they help the customers. They need new building tho. Bathroom stinks bad, fridge that keep the cheeses, milk, yogurt kool leaks condensation on top of

  • Azalia S

I was there today ,bearly entered and already was asked to handle my diaper bag over because they have rules in their store .they were already profiled me as a shoplifter. My husband and i took off ,left the items we were going to

  • Diana Bolch

Great specials!! Bless their hearts!! I shop their mostly for their meats. One of the few places left to dare to offer lower prices then the other grocery giants!! There are only a few locations and not very conveniently located.

  • Cathy Rivera

Great store especially the one on Callaghan and Ingram. Has most needs for making great Mexican favorites and low prices on other favorites, too! Some stores also have a restaurant inside that serves great Mexican favorites!

  • Jen V

The grocery store is always hot they need to run the a/c at a decent temperature so shoppers can shop comfortably. The store is clean and well stocked. You can find some items on a better sale than HEB or walmart at times.

  • abel gallardo

One of the better La Fiestas, not to crazy about the bakery/ food area...stood in line for sweets both " ladies", just ignored us and went to someone else...4 stars for store not bakery/ food they would get ZERO!!!

  • D. Agui.

I love their meat Dept selections very affordable and the meat looks good and fresh.. but other than that everything else is very expensive, reminds me kinda like the prices you would pay at a convenience store,,

  • Luis Martinez

Good convenient grocery store. Smaller than the big chain stores so the selection is limited, but you don't have to walk a mile to get to the other side of the store. The older I get, the more important that is.

  • Sha De Los Santos

They are nice there and clean. I like that its convenient. However, the price is more expensive then Wal-Mart and HEB. So I only go here when I'm in need of something small instead of grocery shopping here.

  • Jimmy Popham

Not being bilingual in English in Spanish was not really too good being there by yourself but the employees were really pleasant and you did had a couple that did understand English and they were very nice

  • Rob Clifford

Nice, clean market specializing in Mexican foods. The prepared foods are delicious, and the pastries and baked goods are very fresh and quite tastey! Great place to shop with excellent variety.

  • Shirley Gomez

They do have some meat specials, poultry specials especially. They are very pricey in their products, especially when it's not top of the line, and some they have are over priced.

  • Karen Pearce

Thought the improvement looked great. Was told by a cashier I needed to speak Spanish to shop there. Ok, won't be back, the cashier's were much nicer before the makeover.

  • Sandye Kalmus

Love this place has a huge selection of meats with good prices. Love the bakery, great selection. Everyone is really nice. There's even a restaurant in there

  • Yolanda L Salinas

The pandering is OK but the other items are priced outright too high for me. The produce is reasonable (most)but that's about all I will buy from them.

  • Diane Troutmandd go Dian

I love to run in here for something I forgot or ran out of. Prices a bit higher than H.E.B. and the vegetables and fruit aren't as fresh as I like.

  • Ralph Norman II

Meat mkt refused to ground up pork for us! If you are looking for salty tacos just visit the little snack area to the right as you enter the store.

  • Marco Elsa Padilla

Alot better than before. The meat market had great presentation. Very clean and presentable store. And a very good variety of products from México.
