Total waste of time and money. They pretended to care and offered to help, but what they actually did was install a faulty lock that did nothing to protect me, nor my belongings. The screws were hanging out to the side, so it locked on night lock (shouldn't happen) and locked me out of the room. I called to complain, then they sent someone to kick the door down, which caused the damage you can see. The whole process was unprofessional. I ended up with no lock on the bedroom door and severe damage for which they take no responsibility. A week later, I simply paid a separate organisation to replace all of the locks on my front door, which they did in a quick and professional manner. I called to attempt to resolve the issue and have them repair the damage they caused, but they just play dumb, threaten that they have lawyers and therefore the quality of their work is irrelevant, say 'everyone tries to get money out of us, so send an email and we'll see what we can do' and then they don't respond to the email and then they call offering a solution, but then I called back and they play dumb again. Classic tactic, frustrate the consumer enough that they give up and stop seeking a resolution, or in my case pay someone else who can really do the job properly. They never provided an invoice, only a text message, but then claim they cannot take responsibility if there's no invoice, despite the fact I have the text message and the price tag states 'Portland Hardware.' I struggle to understand why they have glowing 5 star reviews, probably false ones created by their family members.

This is a great wee hardware store! The guys are friendly and very helpful. The shop also has almost everything you could need. I had keys cut at Banham twice that didn't work in my lock, then I came here to my local store where they cut the key super quick and it worked first time. The key was a also a reasonable £7, way less than Banham. Happy customer!

I first visited the shop on the off chance they had some plumbing parts I needed. I was surprised to find a large variety of stock in there basement area. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It's a great hardware store in the right location for all your needs. If they dont have what you require they are happy to order it in for you.

The staff at there are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about tools. They possess a wealth of expertise and are always willing to offer guidance and recommendations based on your specific requirements. Their insights proved invaluable to me, as they helped me make informed decisions and choose the right tools for my projects.

AVOIDABLE. I bought a tool which looks like steel but surprisingly only has a steel cover, it was copper. I go to the store to fix it. The manager is super rude!! LAUGHING IN MY FACE + 10 min arguing with them. Solution: they know that the tool is not of quality, they have hidden the steel ones ...... Avoid this store at all costs

Polite, helpful staff. They cut two copies of a key for me (£4 per key); both worked perfectly but, unfortunately, the contractor had given me the key to the wrong flat. Popped back to the shop with the correct key and had two copies of that cut - they only charged me for one copy.

These guys were quite rude and unhelpful when I went in to buy some superglue. I'm not someone who usually takes things personally, but i'm for sure never using their store again. The superglue was very overpriced too, if i need any DIY stuff I will always find somewhere else.

Lots of selection for such a tiny place. Had everything I needed. Service is very good too-- even for a heavily pregnant woman surrounded by loads of workmen I was assisted in a timely manner and didn't feel looked down upon.

Just popped in this morning and one of the guys working in there helped me find what I needed really quickly, and even cut my screws down to the right size I needed for me! Really pleased. Would def recommend.

Served by Keith and his elderly but keen dad and his little son Sandeep. They couldn't understand my cockney accent and we're giving me all the wrong things it all ended amicably and we're now good friends

Man’s a hero, he’s fixed many small electrical things for no charge. It may be that I’m too thick to do those myself but he could still charge for his time.
