TLDR; this business values profits and punctuality over pets. An alternative exotic vets is Haley Vet. Another list from this business is attached. I’m actually writing this review while sitting in the waiting room of this location. Here’s some things that I wish I knew before bringing my pets to this location. I currently have several exotics that have been seen here. I’ve also been attending here for the last couple years. Before even coming to this location, I had been warned by previous exotic pet owners that Priest Lake Vet was very strict, showed little grace to clients, and was more expensive than other locations that service similar areas. However, having started seeing Dr. Kopp we assumed that this location would best serve the needs of our pets. We were wrong. Some things to keep in mind. We are teachers and as such have tight schedules but communicate when we will be late/running behind, etc. However, it does not matter at this location. We brought our gerbil, Cupcake, to be seen. We received a message communicating that this was a “work-in” appointment and therefore there would be a wait. We arrived at 5:07pm having driven for nearly 45 minutes after school expecting to wait to see the vet, but was told that there was no grace period and we would not be able to be seen. We offered to sit and wait to see if there was ANY hope that Cupcake would be seem. We said that we would even understand if they weren’t able to see us but we would still be willing to wait because she needed to be seen. It didn’t matter. I’ve never been at a location that didn’t have any type of grace period or even just a monetary penalty for being late. Or a location that didn’t allow you to even to speak to the vet (personal opinion but if you’re going to turn clients down, can’t you at least say it to their face?). It’s heartbreaking to say because there are so few exotic vets in this area but I wouldn’t recommend this place. Not only will you pay significantly more for services that are less expensive elsewhere but the lack of compassion was shocking. But at the end of the day, this is a business and they value profits over your pets.
We had a bit of a rough start initially. This was our first vet visit post covid and also our first visit to PLVH ever. We were unaware of the protocol so my husband and I *both with masks tightly around our faces* walked right through both sets of unlocked doors. We were instantly greeted by front desk who screamed "You can't be in here!" and shooed her hands at us. A switching her vet visits here as well.nice stranger outside overheard my husband and I speaking and thankful told us what to do. We discovered after I signed paperwork, there was a sign telling us to call when we arrive, but they aren't well placed, blend in with the other flyers on the doors and no one warned me before I arrived. When I called, they had no record of my appointment even though I placed one last week and was given a date and time but they agreed to see me. My husband wanted to leave but I convinced him to stay and I'm glad I did. Once we actually spoke to the vet techs they were amazing. Incredibly friendly and kept us well informed through the whole process of our baby's first check up. We are definitely going back if we need assistance with our rambunctious little weasel. They are one of the few people in the area who tend to ferrets but we still weighed out our options before we settled on this place. Going to them was a good decision. Thanks for making the rest of our experience very easy and stress free after our uneasy start. Way better than the place we take our cat and we are considering taking her here as well.
This veterinary hospital started out well, but kept us on our toes, constantly trying to get us to give our dog treatments he did not need. Recently, we have been trying to get his allergies under control, since he is scratching to the point of bleeding. We discussed options and wanted him to get the antibodies test, because we have good insurance that would cover it and would give us a clear idea what is causing his reaction. The veterinarian pushed hard for us to order a special prescription food for our dog that MIGHT help him and we had to adamantly request the antibody test. Got the test done and not only did it take twice as long as they said, but we had to call them to find out the results were in. Thereafter, they discussed them with us on the phone and told us what it said, but didn't send us the email with the results we asked for. We called again a few days later and had the receptionist send us the file. We scheduled an appointment to get the cocktail shot engineered specific to his allergies and basically vaccinate him from them. When we got there, they decided to give him a different generic antihistamine shot to treat symptoms. They told us they decided that, because it was cheaper. Again, our insurance would have covered the one we wanted.
We took our Min Pin there for an emergency eye problem on a Saturday since our regular vet’s office was closed. We were really impressed with Dr. Pennington, the staff and the facility. Everyone was patient and kind. I have no complaints about the fees, in fact, I was surprised that there wasn’t a higher fee since we had never been there and they worked us in. We plan to take both of our dogs there going forward. We weren’t unhappy with our current vet but we had such a good experience at Priest Lake Vet we will continue going there. Edit: they were great, until they weren’t. We spent a lot of money and time for various issues. We paid for 3 heartworm tests at $50 a pop before finally getting a negative result. He has never missed a dose of preventative. The last straw was his yearly vaccine. Apparently they don’t give the parvo booster unless you ask. We were unaware that he didn’t get the vaccine until we dropped him at our boarding facility. In over 35 yrs of owning dogs we have NEVER had to request the parvo booster as part of the yearly shots. I started comparing fees and theirs are easily double what we were paying at the other vet. If the care was excellent we would have stayed with them. Sadly it was worse than sub par.
We brought three of our 12 Guinea Pigs here and we can not recommend them if you want your pets to be safe. This place is just a money mill! One of our pigs they wanted to spay because she had a bump on her rear. They didn't want to do any testing to see what it was, but insisted on surgery. The second opinion did testing which showed it to be a infected sebaceous cyst. With proper treatment our piggy is doing much better. Our second pig we took in for a bump on her rear. They wanted $1200 to remove the cyst. When we got our second opinion they called this vet to get documentation, and apparently this vet lost the records and didn't know what they even were doing surgery for. With proper treatment from another vet she is doing much better and we have almost cleared her infection. Our third pig they said was fine. The second opinion showed that he had pneumonia and an eye infection. This piggy has had a rough life and was rescued from a bad situation. He doesn't need more bad situations in his life from incompetence.
These people are so AMAZING! I totally recommend this place. It is kinda pricey, but the quality of care your pet will receive is top notch, plus they have equipment other vets do not. I found this vet after my dog had an abscessed tooth. My regular vet clinic didn't feel comfortable doing a dental without dental X-rays and didn't have the machine. We weren't comfortable paying the price of a "specialist" so I searched for a vet who had an X-ray machine. Although I can't remember all the names who helped us through this experience, I have to say every single person I spoke with (there were several) treated me or Maggie like we were very important. I am thoroughly impressed. They even worked with us on cutting out any unnecessary procedure to keep expense down on our estimate. And an added adorable touch: my girl came out with little cut out hearts on her iv bandage! These people go above and beyond. THANK YOU Pam, Camila, Ashley, Dr Kopp, Dr Tamas and everyone else who helped me or Maggie!
My wife Kelly and I took our Yorkie "Maggie" to Priest Lake Vet Clinic when she was only six weeks old. That was over 14 years ago and she is still in good health! Dr. Van Pennington has been her primary physician and has gone over and above what could be expected from him. He has performed two surgeries and countless other procedures that Maggie has needed to keep her happy and healthy. Dr. Pennington has met us after hours when she was ill and needed care. We started with the clinic at their old location and now they are in a brand new "state of the art" facility that is first class. The staff is mostly the same since we first came to the clinic and I think that speaks for itself. I have and will continue to recommend Priest Lake Vet Clinic to anyone I meet that wants professional, compassionate care provided for their pet. Going there will ensure that your pet is in good hands.
I have had multiple frustrating experiences here. They would explain billing and ask if it’s ok then charge for xyz that wasn’t put in for originally. They prescribed an anxiety medication for my dog. I gave it as prescribed then talked to them about it later (was going out of town and needed a refill- on the phone they said it was fine. When I showed up they refused to give the originally agreed upon dose) and the tech said not to give exactly as prescribed because it could cause his organs to fail. This would have been nice to know at the beginning… Then another tech said my dog wasn’t a senior dog while the dr said he was and pushed for a lot of extra services. It is a very expensive vet. Which you would think with it being so expensive they would provide a more seam line experience. There just never seemed to be consistency in care which was extremely frustrating.
I had such an incredibly positive, bar-setting experience bringing my 6-month old Flemish Giant (rabbit) here to receive her first dose of the Rabbit Hemorrhagic Fever vaccine. The staff were attentive and very communicative with me leading up to the appointment (they called to clarify some info and sent multiple texts confirming the appt. which seems like a low bar for basic customer service but other vets don't even bother to do this) and really cared about my pet's wellbeing—when booking her 2nd dose of the vaccine I realized I'd be out of town on the day Priest Lake was offering the vaccine clinic, based on the conversation I was having with the clinician, another patient in the lobby offered to bring my rabbit in to get her booster. If you have a rabbit in the Nashville area and you're looking for the best possible care in the region, come here!
Not the best, specifically with billing. Before each procedure was done to my pets, they called me to explain the procedure, cost and if I was okay with it. This was great, expect they did not do this for nail trimmings. This was the one procedure I would have declined if they had told me the cost before going and trimming the nails. This was the first time I’ve had a vet charge for nail trimming for guinea pigs and $50 seemed a little steep. Especially since the nail trimmings was done with out a confirmation call. When explaining this to the receptionist, they were kind, apologized and explained they are typically suppose to call and confirm before something like nail trimmings are done on pets. It was a minor error I was hoping to be in someway resolved so that the bill did not reflect the nail trimmings, but this was not done.
They were sooooooo kind and accommodating! I felt like the receptionists, vet techs, and vet actually cared about my cat. They seemed like they liked their job and were invested in Rúna’s best interest, not money, and not just checking the box to get me and her out of the office. I called back the next day since I was having a hard time getting my cat all her medication. I asked for advice or maybe a different med. They not only remade the medication to be 1/3 the dose size available same day, but didn’t charge me! I don’t have a lot of money so this gesture meant the world to me! I live in East Nashville but this clinic was recommended to me. Im soo glad! The drive is so worth it to go to a place where they care! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
I really can’t say enough about Dr. Kopp and his team at PLVH. Our rabbit, Basil, stopped eating and the vet she usually sees at a different practice was unavailable. We took her here and Dr. Kopp worked her in. It turns out she needed emergency surgery, and Dr. Kopp and his team worked late into the night to complete her surgery when some complications caused the surgery to take longer than expected to complete. He showed great care and concern for our bunny and we truly felt like she was receiving the best care. He was very honest about our options and her prognosis. So far, our rabbit is doing well, but we think things would have turned out very differently if it wasn’t for the excellent and expert care she received at PLVH. Thank you, Dr. Kopp and Team!!!!!
We have been seeing the wonderful doctors at Priest Lake for 2 years, we switched at first mostly to meet the needs of our rescue hedgehog. Since then we’ve switched all of our animals to Dr. Kopp’s care, and we couldn’t be happier with the loving and supportive care our furbabies receive from him and the support staff. I know that my questions and concerns are always taken seriously and I trust Priest Lake to advise me and my spouse on the best options for the long term health, happiness, and quality of life of my babies. The only thing I’d change is having their service available 24-7… because they are that good! But I realize they need to sleep too. If you are looking for quality care, with knowledgeable and supportive techs/vets, this is your place.
I've had nothing but incredible experiences with Priest Lake Vet. I've been on numerous occasions with our guinea pig Patches, and they've been nothing but understanding, kind, helpful, and patient with us. Dr. Kopp is easily the kindest and most helpful exotic vet/doctor I've ever dealt with. He went through multiple types of treatment options, surgery options, etc to help our older pig and explained possible causes of why he was experiencing pain, all the while reviewing x-rays, test results, and making it all very understandable for me and my family. I highly recommend this place if you have an exotic animal or otherwise, as they will take care of both you and your pet with the utmost sincerity and kindness.
If I could give a zero I would. I made an appointment and explained to Kyle when I made the appointment that I needed to stay with my dog. He said no problem. When I got there a rude tech told me she would take my dog in the back. She would give him his shots and try to cut his nails there. I told her I needed to stay with him as I explained to Kyle. She dismissed what he said. She then said she was not even sure that she could cut his nails since he was so big. What a waste of time! I contacted the office but no response. Rude tech-worst experience of my life! In response to the vet -it is very sad when veterinary hospitals are more interested in overcharging then taking care of your pets!
My partner and I just recently bought our 6 week old Dobby and it was time for his first Vet visit. We are fortunate to have found a Vet service not far from where we live and decided to go with Priest Lake Veterinary Hospital. As soon as we walked in, we were instantly greeted with a smile. Our sign in and registration process was quick and easy and we were seen right away. The professionalism and the “home feel” was above and beyond. They were very patient and also very kind, as they answered all of our questions. I am so glad that we chose Dr. Kopp and Priest Lake. We know Dobby is going to be taken care of here. I highly recommend!
Priest Lake Vet took me under their wing as a pre-vet student, and invested almost two years into my career, my learning, and to getting me into veterinary school. Dr Kopp, Dr. P, and every one of their staff members mentored me and taught me what it meant to truly care not only about pets, but about people to. I’ve witnessed everyone here go above and beyond every one of their duties to be incredible clinicians and to always do the right thing- often in some of the hardest situations. I can’t recommend PLVH enough to anyone. They practice some of the best medicine I’ve had the privilege to see, and they treat all of my family’s pets!
Don't take walk in's when your pet is sick. Especially knowing they are closed the next day! Disappointed to say the least! I get that it was an hour and half before closing. I pray my pup isn't deathly ill, and can wait till the morning to go to another vet that actually cares! They did not refer me to any other clinic. Just said they wont see her today. The front girl was nice enough to ask the vet if he could fit her in. but the vet said nope. This is the 2nd time I've tried to get in. the first time i couldn't get scheduled in a reasonable allotted time. (Update) My Pet is doing well now and was able to get her in at another vet.
I cannot thank Dr. Kopp and the team at Priest Lake enough. My 10 year old sugar glider had a tail injury about 6 months ago. After a partial amputation he wouldn't leave it alone and we ended up back at the vet multiple times. Dr. Kopp never gave up and found a way to help my little guy. Everyone at Priest Lake was so supportive when I was so tearful at times I could barely speak. They did such a good job with my glider and knew how to handle him well. Hands down I trust this team and highly recommend them. Having an exotic can be stressful at times but if you need help, this team will go above and beyond to help your baby!
My Leopard Gecko (Macho) had an issue that needed treatment right away. I had never been to this facility and was desperate for some guidance to figure out how urgent the issue was. The vet offices that work with exotics are few and far between. Every single person I spoke with was beyond helpful, kind and understanding. I am so incredibly appreciative and frankly blown away by the amount of professionalism, knowledge, understanding and soft skills this team possesses. You can tell they truly care. This will be Macho’s medical home from here on out. Thank you to the entire team. You literally saved my Macho’s life. ❤️
Dr. Pennington. His nurse's name was , my cat was calmer than I've ever seen her with these 2 amazing people. I had so many questions and Pennington never once made me feel dumb about asking them, he answered every question fully and made sure that I understood before he moved on . They were both very good at explaining everything that I need to know very respectful very polite and very nice. they were able to squeeze me in on a last minute notice. And he also took the time to ask about my schedule so he could suggest the hours that would work best for me for the future. Go. Your animals will thank you.
My dog is not easy. She suffered in her life before I met her. As a result, she displays fear aggression during vet visits. It took us 4 tries. Each time veterinarian here updated our approach. They are patient, respectful, and kind. Thanks to their patience, my baby has gotten her vaccines. I'm a very happy dog mom thanks to this office. They have also seen me through a very difficult end of life care for my beloved cat. They sent me a sweet card, with a cute pic of her and I treasure that kind token. Compassionate care with patience, I cannot recommend them enough.
I have been going to Priest Lake Vet for over a decade. The past few years have proven to be tumultuous where my fur babies have been concerned. Dr. Kopp, and his amazing staff, have been there for me through every step. PLV has a way of making you feel like they are members of your own family caring for your fur baby. I will never be able to express my gratitude for everything they have helped with. If you want your pet cared for by a vet as if it was one of their own, then go see Dr. Kopp, and all of the wonderful ladies that make this vet family.
Do not take your animal friends to get their nails trimmed here.. I drove at that way to let them hurt my dog Rambo. Then they didn't even file his nails. The nails were uneven, jagged and he lost a lot of blood!! We had been customers for almost 5 years. I had already disliked their customer service. Bad energy. This will be our last time. They played it off like it was no big deal, and the nurse promised him a large chew stick, which she conveniently forgot. I wanted to treat him for Valentine's day, not traumatize him! I'm so shaken up.
I can't say enough good things about this place. My rabbit became deathly ill suddenly on a Friday afternoon. My vet wouldn't see us because they were closing. I called around desperately to so many places and no one would see us. This veterinary hospital was also going to close soon but they took compassion on me and said to bring him over, even though I was almost an hour away. They were able to provide a diagnosis and care and I think saved my bunny's life. I am forever grateful for kindness and true dedication to their work.
Dr. Pennington and staff are absolutely wonderful. We wouldn't take our pets anywhere else. Dr. Pennington takes his time and explains everything. He makes sure that you understand everything about your pets illness. He even explained it to my daughter, which was great. It really put her at ease that her kitty would be okay. I love the fact that you are never left waiting in the waiting room and you are never rushed out the door. They really care about the pets that they take care of and it shows.
I've taken my guinea pigs in two separate times now. I left both appointments feeling as though they were trying to push me into unnecessary expensive procedures (surgeries, which are risky for guinea pigs). Guinea pigs are very sensitive to anesthesia, and I did not feel that my concerns about this were adequately addressed. After getting second opinions on both piggies elsewhere, my piggies are now doing very well. I will not be bringing any of my guinea pigs to Percy Priest in the future.
We have used Priest Lake vets for over 20 years. Dr. Pennington has been there to welcome each of our dogs. He has performed surgery when needed, prescribed medication, given a "clean bill of health" and is there and compassionate when we need end of life care. I like that he explains the medical situation in detail, any options and his recommendation. I highly recommend this veterinary hospital; you will find all the doctors and support staff are there to give the best care for your pet.
When our kittens got sick shortly after we acquired them we went looking for the nearest vet and wound up here. The staff are nice and the facility is easy on the eyes but I didn't find the vet impressive. Maybe it's just me but she didn't seem particularly concerned with my pets plight. She still recommended a laundry list of expensive treatments and wound up having to haggle about which items were or were not necessary despite already being thoroughly stressed out.
Unfortunately we had to put our dog Xena down. It was one of the hardest times of our lives. We had her paw print casted and when we went to pick up our momento the entire staff signed a condolence card. Each one had a beautiful message indicating just how much Xena made an impression on them. They also lit a candle inside the clinic at the front desk on her memory. This clinic is absolutely wonderful. They really do care about their patients and their families.
Took my rabbits in to get their RHDV vaccines because my usual vet isn’t able to offer it. Their staff is well organized and on top of things, plus just friendly in general. I really appreciate the safety measure with the bunnies, disinfected rooms, masks, gloves, aprons, etc with the rabbit virus going around. If I lived closer I’d see them as the regular vet for the critters because I hear nothing but good things about them from other “exotic” pet owners.
Our cat Remy couldn’t be in better hands! He was limping on his leg and Dr.Pennington was able to figure out he tore a tendon and treated him properly with pain meds. Today was his checkup and they upped his dosages for his meds, and loved on him the entire vet visit! He was so relaxed he curled up and fell asleep, and that speaks volumes for a cat at the vet. Thank you so much for loving our baby like he’s your own! Also, his vet techs were amazing!!
We were 5mins late to our appointment due to traffic and they cancel it. Then they complain about no call no show after two times. My dog needed an X-ray since they seen her last week and instead of giving us better options, just talked about all these X-rays doctor fees and etc. Didn’t even give me something I could do until I could get an X-ray done. I’m starting to think they are all about money and not your animal health. I wouldn’t recommend
The veterinarian was very helpful, willing to work with my budget, and explained everything very clearly and thoroughly. My dog needed X-rays, and the vet took me to look at them while she explained what she was seeing in them, what that implied, and explained how things were working on an anatomical and physiological level (which is great, since highschool biology was so long ago). Loved the experience, and my pup is feeling better.
Dr. Kop and all of the techs and front office associates were AMAZING!!!!! They went above and beyond to help our 3 dogs. He was straight forward and willing to sit there as long as it took to answer questions and help the family feel at ease. I will never go to another clinic. Very compassionate and caring. Figures out way to help your beloved furbabies! Most down to earth and honest office ever!!! You have our business for life!!
Dr. Pennington and his staff are amazing. I've had 2 rescue reptiles, a blue tongue skink and a bearded dragon, that Dr. Pennington helped. He was always willing to answer any questions I had if I called in in-between appointments, was kind and caring when I was crying during the appointment or over the phone, and when my little beardie passed away his staff sent me a card. Amazing place, will keep going back for all my reptiles.
Just took my newly adopted cat baby in for a checkup and because I’ve been worried about her eye. Vet was very friendly and good with explaining things to me and handling Etta. They were very transparent with me about costs and I got to see the treatment plan with prices before they did anything to be able to approve it. I’m not too sure how the pricing compares to other places but it didn’t seem outrageous for a good vet
These folks are taking care of my pets since they were babies. My chihuahua Minime and my to greyhounds Zeus and Baby are all treated very well there. My cat before she passed on was also treated there. They are amazing and have handled several emergencies for me. Their kindness and my animals is amazing. they also take time to sit down and talk to us like we're human beings and not a number. I recommend these guys to anyone.
After relocating to Nashville a little over 2 years ago, the doctors and staff at Priest Lake Vet have been wonderful. We have had consistently positive experiences with routine care for our older cats; and more recently, with care for a new kitten. They have been amazing with our toddler (who is learning to take care of her kitty), and always have accommodating scheduling, great pricing, and exemplary care for our animals.
Love the staff at Priest Lake Vet Hospital! Jules was SUPER helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. We met with Dr Pennington for a re-check on our pet and he was incredibly thorough and explained everything we needed to know. I wish they had a location closer to where we live ... my only complaint is that some of the pricing is a little high - we needed some meds for our pet and the final bill was a bit pricier than expected.
Dr. Pennington and his nurse Keylea were amazing with my elderly guinea pig. They were gentle, professional, knowledgable, and punctual. The prices are very reasonable their clinic is clean and tidy. Dr. Pennington took his time with my pet as he examined him. He asked questions and asked what questions I had. He was so friendly and kind and enthusiastic - you can tell he loves his job. Will definitely be going back!
Everyone was so nice from the minute I walked in to the minute I left. Asked if they could get me anything, I had to use the bathroom and she offered to watch my puppy while I went. Julie was so helpful explaining everything and making sure I knew exactly what was going on . And Dr. Pennington was wonderful. Relieving any worry I had and making sure I got to ask all my questions. Definitely will continue to go back.
Dr. Pennington, is excellent! He is very intelligent and I can confidently say that I trust him to provide excellent care for my bearded dragon Sunny, if he were to be ill. I will be bringing any of my future exotic animals to see him. I highly recommend him, he cares about these animals immensely and was very kind and understanding with my concerns that I had for my pet! 5/5 stars highly recommend this vet :)
I bring my rabbits here and the vet is incredible. He is so knowledgeable on them. I love that when my rabbit was frightened, he sat on the floor and took time to comfort her before he continued the exam. He listened carefully to all my questions and answered them carefully and thoroughly. I also bring my hedgehog here and the vet was so gentle with him! I can't imagine taking them anywhere else.
We brought our sick bearded dragon in and Dr. Pennington and Ricky were so good to us. Took the time to listen to our concerns, made many suggestions and genuinely cared about our pet. They were upfront and honest about our prognosis while also keeping optimistic. Will definitely be back and can not thank them enough. Wonderful experience from the first call to checkout. All staff was amazing.
Amazing service every time, no matter the doctor or vet tech staff. They always seem to be able to work in my fur babies same/next day when there is an urgent situation. The doctors and staff are caring and compassionate, taking the time to talk to you even though they have multiple clients waiting on them after you. I have highly recommended this practice to all of my family and friends!
We are traveling thru Tennessee and our cat got sick. They were able to get him in that day. Even though we didn't get to see the vet, Dr. Pennington did call us and give us an update on our cat. He was so thorough and kind. Had our kitty home a couple hours later on antibiotics and pain medicine. All the office staff were also very kind. If I lived here they would definitely be my vet.
I’m feeling super thankful for Dr. Pennington and his staff. They worked late without warning this evening to save my hamster. Everyone at the office was super kind and professional, to me and to my hamster. So glad Nashville has an exotic pet vet office that stays open until seven, is extra kind to a new client, and will see a hamster at the last minute. Would recommend to anyone.
I brought my two rats Remy and Ziggy in for their first visit today and I couldn’t be happier with the service! The staff were so friendly and kind to me. It’s clear that they love all the animals that come through their clinic. Remy and Ziggy didn’t even seem stressed when I came to pick them up! Service was quick and efficient with the drop off set up for first time exotics.
The staff here is wonderful. Our normally nervous and shy puppy trusted her nurse to turn to when she was scared during an exam. That’s something we’ve never seen before and makes us so happy to take our dogs here. Everyone was kind and happy to provide detailed information in response to our questions. I would highly recommend PLVH to dog parent out there.
Been visiting PLVH with our dog for a year and every appointment has been great. The staff has always been super friendly and reassuring when it comes to any problems we may have. They ask for our permission before doing anything with our dog and letting us know pricing before proceeding. They always ask if we have questions or concerns. Highly recommend!
My daughters brought their Guinea pig for a well visit. We arrived at 4:10 for a 4:00 appointment due to a thunderstorm and the vet said he wouldn’t see us because he had a 4:30 appointment. I asked if he would just look at her ear for 5 minutes because we aren’t sure if something is wrong with it and he refused. We drove 45 minutes to get there. SO rude.
New client and was able to call late in the day to try & get our dog in due to severe illness and obvious pain, and the team at Priest Lake not only worked us in but stayed late after hours to help out our furry family Member. Very much appreciate Veterinarian and the entire support staff for Going above and beyond in taking care of our pup. Thank you!
Brought in my amazon bird Lola to get her beak and nails trimmed. Dr. Pennington is very knowledgeable and was very gentle and caring towards Lola, all the staff is very friendly and showed the upmost care not only towards Lola but to us as well. We will definitely be going back and recommending this place to all our friends and family.
I LOVE THIS PLACE !!My baby was really sick and they treated western like if it was there own when I left him for his treatment to see what was going on with him. They were the sweetest with Western!!They did everything they could for Western and treated him with love . I’m so glad I found Priest Lake Veterinary Hospital .
Dr. Pennington is amazing! Allison (nurse) is equally amazing. I took 2 of my parrots in for a check-up and beak trim. They treat every person and animal with respect. They thoroughly answer every question that you may have. I highly recommend this vet office for all types of animals. The front desk is superb as well.
Been going there 13 years never a bad experience! All doctors and Staff are knowledgeable, friendly and genuinely caring. Facility is state of the art - clean & spacious. Would never bring my 3 dogs anywhere else. They have been a continued blessing in our lives - so grateful they were recommended to me 13 years ago!
These folks are the absolute best! From the time I entered to the time I left, they took care of me and my moms guinea pig, Tiny Tim. The way they talked to him and the way they handled him, just so sweet, respectful, kind, and loving. I was SOOOO impressed! And he’s feeling so much better thanks to their care. ❤️❤️
All of the vets at Priest Lake are fantastic! Dr. Kopp in particular has taken exceptional care of my hedgehogs. The vet techs, too, always go the extra mile to squeeze us in for visits and give so much love to all of the animals there. I highly recommend this vet hospital for all cats, dogs, and exotic fur babies!
I cannot thank this team enough for everything they have done for my sugar glider! He needed surgery to remove a gland and they did not hesitate to get him treated. They have been amazing and gone above and beyond. After this experience, we'll be using them for all 6 of our pets from now on. Seriously, they rock!
Wanted a quote for surgery on my rabbit whose leg is broken asked if I could email them a copy of the X-ray from the vet I went to and they said they would’nt be able to and I would have to pay to have him x-ray again. Which is a waste of money. I’ll keep looking for a vet who can possible perform the surgery.
The staff and doctor were so kind and helpful. Even though my cat was obviously unhappy and didn’t want to be there or near them they made it a point to make him feel as comfortable as possible. Also, made the ear exam as quickly as possible so he wouldn’t be more agitated. I’m so thankful for all their help.
I had the best experience here! I’m so glad the team took such wonderful care of my sweet pup! They were professional and very experienced, and I appreciate all the work they did! They met all of my pet’s needs and made sure she was sent home feeling better, with an extensive follow up plan. Highly recommend!
We LOVE the staff at PLVH! Dr. Kopp has been nothing but amazing with our sweet bunny who suddenly developed a seizure disorder over the summer. We have been so happy with the office that they were the first place we called when we got our new puppy. We also plan to transfer our older pup over to their care!
I love this vet. My pup has seen all three doctors there and every single person on their staff is so wonderful. I know that my dog is getting the absolute best care. After she was spay they called regularly to check up on how she was doing. They truly go the extra mile to care for your four legged friend.
The staff of Priest Lake are amazing— knowledgeable and kind and really care about you and your pets. They have taken such good care of our 2 dogs, especially as they have gotten older and had more health issues. It’s always easy to schedule appointments at a convenient time. Can’t recommend them enough.
If your Turtle babies need anything go see Dr. Van Pennington. He is very knowledgeable about turtles and other Exotic animals. Staff was great and they even got my Boxie in the next day due to an abscess. Seriously one of the best places for Exotics to be treated. Cant thank them enough.
Very caring Veterinarian (Dr.Kopp) and Staff...they all were so sweet, kind and supportive to me (and to my cat Charlie) during the process of having her "put down" b/c of her illness...Thank you all for your kindness to me during a difficult time...you guys are the best. …
The staff and doctors are amazing folks. Dr. Pennington and Dr. Kopp are such kind hearted veterinarians. Since moving away from the area, I still recommend them to any fur baby owners far and wide. They treat all sorts of exotic pets as well and are the best in Nashville
They take incredible care of my two high maintenance Japanese Chin and my two pitbulls. I can tell they love them and treat them like family, not animals. I moved and drive over an hour to take my fur girls to them. They take my concerns seriously and get us in quickly.
I absolutely love this veterinarian Clinic. I have always had very good care for my animals. We recently had to have our Greyhound put down old age 15. They did a footprint for my husband and I and then in the mail I received the most uplifting greeting card.
Everything in my first experience was great from the front desk to the nurses, other staff, and Dr. Van. Care and compassion were shown for my very sick cat, and options were provided at different levels. I would definitely recommend Priest Lake to anyone.
These ladies and gentleman are amazing and so good with my dog. Very professional and so nice. I had another vet in which I did not like and thats when I found Priest Lake Vet....best decision for my dog hands down. Thank you everyone at Priest Lake Vets.
Both the doctor and technician were great with Crosby! They were easy for me to talk to, completely respectful of any decisions I made regarding my pet, and overall just kind people. The facility is clean and everything was on time and organized.
Amazing clinic and staff! Impressed with their level of care and would highly recommend them to anyone in the area. Cassidy especially provided excellent care for my boy Pavlov, and showed him lots of love during his exam. Overall a great visit!
I brought my hamster Vada in yesterday morning for a drop off visit due to her suddenly becoming sick. Dr. Kopp and his staff did everything they could. We stuck with a small procedure & pain meds but this morning I had to bring her back in
WOW! I was so pleased and impressed with the fantastic experience for our pet ducks vet visit! From my initial phone call to the moment we left our first visit, everything was so great. Dr.Pennington has an amazing team. Ellen at the desk,
My girlfriend and I are co-parenting a shelter puppy with my artist friend Ben Folds and his wife, and we have been incredibly happy with the professionalism of the entire clinic staff. We all feel our dog is getting the best care possible!
I have nothing but great things to say about everyone at Priest Lake Vet. The breeder that I got my puppy from had some specific requirements for her first vaccines, etc. Being new to Nashville, I simply did a google search for vets around
I love these people! Every time I’ve gone in for my puppies shots they have been so kind and helpful, answering a million questions for me that I have about owning a puppy for the first time. We even had an issue with one of her eyes, and
Some people are in the business because they care! DR. VAN PENNINGTON is not one of those people. I just traveled 2.5 hours one way to have my bird checked. About 15 minutes before my appointment. We get a call he's not going to be in the
I am so grateful we found priest lake vet!! They are right around the corner and were very knowledgeable about my son’s guinea pig! If you have an “exotic” animal, this is the place to go! Thank you Dr. Pennington for your help with Oli.
I can’t say enough awesome things about this place! I am always greeted immediately by a friendly face, the nurses and doctors are so smart and they truly care about your pet’s health. They take the time to answer any questions you might
My experience with Dr. Kopp and the entire staff at Priest Lake was wonderful. They are so attentive, knowledgeable, and thorough. They went above and beyond for my cats, and I will trust them with all our veterinary needs in the future.
Brought my guinea pig Zuzu in today. She had a scrap on her eye and it needed to be treated ASAP. They got us in the same day and were the cheapest vet for guinea pigs in our area. The staff was very nice and helpful and Dr. Harper was
Dr. Pennington is an amazing exotic veterinarian. He took his time and thoroughly and carefully examined my baby black capped conure Han Solo. He explained to me all of the potential medical conditions his breed can experience and he
Thank you so much for taking care of our sweet guinea pig Basil. He feels so much better now! The vet was a very effective communicator and had a really supportive team during the process. We know where to go for any animals needs!
Everyone was super helpful and caring! As a new patient, they were thoughtful of my pet's potential stress level, and took things slowly so she wasn't over stressed. They were super kind and understanding. I highly recommend them.
I absolutely love this place. The exam they did was very thorough and everyone was very helpful! This will forever be my families Vet from now on! I recommend to anyone around the area to give them a shot. They are well worth it.
Priest Lake Vet has been amazing to all three of my dogs, and I can rest easy knowing that if my snakes need anything, I can take them there as well. Super nice staff and very understanding of my girl being skiddish around men.
I love that they walked through every step of my dogs needs and gave us documentation of what was needed before moving forward. Their prices were not absurd either. The Vet was very helpful and understanding of our dog.
Awesome vet, was very knowledgeable about turtles. Showed me how and got my little Kyle feeling much better after our move. I will be bringing our dogs here as we have yet to establish a vet for them in Nashville.
I love priest lake veterinary they have a wonderful staff. They understand that my fur babies are part of my family. I am very picky about who my babies are seen by and I wouldn't have any other then priest lake!
Dr.Kopp is Great! He is an awesome listener and lets you ask him all the questions you want! He is very caring and invested in the well being of your pet! The staff are very friendly and kind! Great Place!
This is my first time going to Priest Lake Vet and I was more than satisfied! The staff were all friendly and took good care of my Russian tortoise. I will absolutely be making this my regular vet!
Very good vet and staff. They tried their best to take care of my Miss Louie. They made a little mold with her foot print and some of her small blue feathers. The staff was so kind and sweet.
Wonderful exotic vet! I take my bearded dragons, cat, and new puppy. They are always super friendly and they work with you with what you can afford, also very informative! 10/10 recommend
Absolutely love this clinic, very sweet people and Dr. Pennington was amazing and so sweet to my sweet Memo . Definitely recommend to anyone who needs help with their fur baby. …
