We brought our German shepherd to Prince of Wales Animal Hospital for her spay and Dr. Karen Ji was AMAZING. We were quite nervous for all of the appointments as our dog is reactive, and have noticed that previous vets do not usually read her file before meeting her (leaving them a bit thrown off with her initial reactivity). It was very obvious that Dr. Karen Ji read her file before entering the room and she continuously made sure Nova was as comfortable as she could be while getting her vaccines, annual check up, blood work and spay. We also brought our cat in for her annual check up/vaccines with Dr. Karen Ji while Nova was waking up from her spay and we have nothing but great things to say about that appointment as well. It was the most thorough cat check up I’ve ever witnessed. Extremely happy with our numerous vet experiences this past month, and would also like to shout out the vet tech who went over the pre-op/post-op paperwork with us as it was extremely informative (apologies as I didn’t catch your name!). Thank you Prince of Wales Animal Hospital and more specifically Dr. Karen Ji for your great work! Best veterinarian ever!

We’ve been bringing multiple animals here for 5+ years now for their vet checkups but recently had an emergency issue where our cat ate some chocolate and needed to be taken to the emergency animal hospital after hours. Despite the fact that our cat is a regular patient of theirs, this animal hospital refused to take a look at blood work we had forwarded to them for a consultation without bringing him in for new blood work to be done at their clinic. You should be aware that any veterinary care received outside of this clinic is apparently disregarded even in emergency situations so that they can charge you a second time.

Stay away from this place, they’re incompetent, then they expect you to pay for it. They needed to do tests before administering heart worm, flea and tick meds. They said they’d call me when the tests came back so I could get the meds. Nobody called. When I followed up they said the tests were negative but I’d have to pay for them again because time had elapsed. I will not pay for their failure to follow up as promised. Go elsewhere, stay away. The rep on the phone is just about the worst example of customer service one can find (I agree with other reviews about her that use expletives).

I'm sorry to post a poor review after 30 years of being clients with over 8 beloved pets. We recently adopted 2 kittens and took them for their rabies shots. Although the vet was kind, the bill was not. Over $400. There were discrepancies with the invoice, overcharging for dewormers, not transparent with dispensing fees and most disappointing is that the office staff could not or would not explain to our satisfaction. In fact the customer rep got off the phone quickly as she did not want to explain. I'm not sure whether we want to continue being clients.

My cat has diabetes and needs a special diet they sell at vet clinics. His vet is at Beechwood Animal Hospital but since I moved it’s hard to always get back to Beechwood when he runs out of food. Meadowlands had already confirmed with Beechwood that they can sell me his diabetic food and I had been buying it there for months. Out of the blue today they refused to sell it to me, stating they had no record of confirming with Beechwood. Felt like they didn’t care. Now my cat has run out of his food :( I won’t return or switch to this clinic.

Good awesome place❣️❣️ There are so many nice places on the earth. They are scattered across the country. Every place has its own distinct features. Some places have scenic beauty in abundance while many are famous for their architectural wonders. In addition every person has different tastes, choices and likings. Several people enjoy the sight of scenic beauty; some are attracted towards places of historical and archaeological interests. A few may be interested in visiting places of religious importance.

I'm probably biased, but I think this is one of the best veterinary practices in Canada. Everyone I have spoken with here has always been wonderful. They have put countless hours into caring for our three dogs over four years. Their team has a lot of expertise and always seem to be working to learn more so they can care for our animals even better. Their efforts at fear free care seem to make a big difference to the experience of their patients. Sid the cat is soft and adorable. Everyone here is great.

I had to put my dog Ruckus down and I have to tell you this was the hardest thing I have ever done. From the moment I walked in the door until I was leaving I was treated with such compassion I would highly recommend that if you were in need of services such as this or any other that should contact them or even if you're just looking for a vet they're compassion and care is just amazing. Dr Smallwood is an absolutely amazing vet. She’s seen both of my cats and my eldest has never been well behaved at the vet, but she has such a wonderful presence that even he was calm during his exam. I went over to Gatineau for the longest time prior to finding her for the lower costs, but you can’t beat the care she gives. All the staff has been welcoming and accommodating - would definitely recommend!

I am very satisfied with the treatment and the attention that my cats are getting there. I would certainly recommend this hospital to every pet owner. They make you feel that their main concern is your pet's well-being, which is very important to me to feel it. I am taking my three cats there, one of my favorite doctors is Dr. Robinson. Doctors, nurses, technicians in general are very compassionate.

First time pet owner and first experience with the vet. I was very happy with the service even during covid! I was instructed to call upon arrival and leave the pet inside. They pick the carrier right away. Vet called me during the appointment and answered all of the million questions I had, gave advise. He also explained how the visit went and what to expect on next visits.

Thank you Dr Smallwood and staff. My kitty fell off the stairs and I was terrified. I took her in they saw me right away. I was in tears. Dr smallwood was so kind and caring. My kitten was fine but to see the doctor right away was amazing. She took her time and made sure she was fine. Highly recommend this clinic. We take our dog here as well and they are always great w her.

Staff here did such a good job! My pup has anxiety and is scared of new environments and new people. The vets and front desk people definitely knew what they were doing to get my puppy comfortable and spoiled lol. Overall they were very patient with her and me. The price was also not bad and was send home with a pocket of treats .

We have been coming here for a few years for both our dog and cat and always receive incredible care and advice. Staff are all amazing and truly care about our pets. Examinations are always quick yet thorough and we are always seen promptly at our appointment time. The only place I will ever take our future pets!

They are friendly and courteous and our pet is given great care and attention. The vet always discusses various treatment options with us, to ensure we are making informed choices for our pet. The cost of treatment is very reasonable and the staff all seem very competent in providing animal care.

The staff are beyond wonderful. The clinic is clean. They genuinely care about your pets and try to do what's best for them. They make time to talk to you and answer any questions in an easy to understand way. Overall, I have nothing but great things to say about the clinic and the staff.

Great staff, been coming here for 2 years now. The office manager Rhonda does an excellent job running everything, especially during the last years business restrictions. The doctors are well trusted and caring. Just had my dog neutered here for a fair price. Keep up the great work

Competitive prices among other veterinary hospitals and Dr. Smallwood is easily the best vet I have ever brought my animals to. She is truly caring and wants the best for your pets. Can’t recommend this animal hospital enough if you are searching for somewhere to bring your pets!

Today was my first visit here and I'm all about how I'm treated along with my fur baby. From the front desk staff to dr. Macintosh everything was perfect. They helped me understand what was needed and the dr was so good with my baby. I will definitely recommend and be back

Very friendly, compassionate, and informative staff who genuinely care about your fur babies as much as you do. The only real complaint is hours on weekends, but honestly they have similar or better hours than other non emergency vets out there.

I post this review at the Prince of Wales Animal Hospital as the same "Dr." who managed to misdiagnose our Sheltie and kill him works at this location as well. Stay away and take your pet anywhere but here if you want quality care

Convenient location, good customer service. I order my cat's food from here. Although they once forgot to notify me when my order was in they were very nice about it when I called them and promptly made sure that I got the food

As my pets hospital I can say that the attention hasn't always been ideal but it came a long way since then. Its pricey, yes, but you gotta know what services to get. The location is one of their best assets
