"So I went to the deli with a can of Tuna because my regular location always opens the can of my choice and make sandwich accordingly, so the deli employee went to ask for assistance to open the can and when I say 2 gentlemen one tall and slim the other short and medium build attacked and chastised the deli woman as if she was a child when she was just attempting to oblige me the customer I felt humiliated for her and horrible I even asked! I interjected like it's fine I'll take a maple turkey these two men continued to have an entire conversation about it as if the woman attempted to steal it was sad to watch I thought of cussing them out but didn't wanna stoop to their level! Please give coaching as many of us come here after work and would like a respectable shopping experience!!!!"
Shopping here is definitely not a pleasure. I speak from years of experience of having to go here out of necessity and proximity to my house. Most of the time, however, I drive anywhere else to avoid this particular Publix. Always feel unsafe in the parking lot and in this strip center in general. Not to mention my last trip here I stood for about 10 minutes at the deli counter while two deli workers actively ignored me, milling aimlessly (not doing any purposeful tasks that would take precedence over customers) while saying nothing and making no eye contact to the single customer very obviously waiting to be helped. Eventually a line formed behind me but still no acknowledgement so everyone trickled away while I remained, determined to buy what I had stopped for. For Pierre and Kareena, this was clearly their method of not having to deal with customers. Ignore until they go away. Absolutely unacceptable. Eventually Kareena finally acknowledged the lady BEHIND me as though I had not been standing there for the last 10 minutes. Unbelievably rude. Most of the staff here mirror that sentiment. Customers are an intrusion.
I do not recommend this publix . So I came in here the other day to buy a parfait ,there was a old white man just picking up multiple cantaloupes and putting them down like he couldn’t make up his mind . I politely said excused me after waiting for 2 minutes and him still not making a decision . This old white man turns around and starts going off on me telling me how I need to show respect and telling me this is not how we do things in America etc and other racist remarks . Then the Publix manager walks over and instead of him trying to find out what happened he goes and takes the old white man side and completely dismisses me . I’m sure this is not the first time this man has acted out against a person of color at this publix and the way this manager dealt with the situation was completely unprofessional and biased. I will not be returning to this location and btw this location is outdated and dirty .
Seafood Counter. Three stars. Still quality but needs improvement. I'll get right to the specifics including my experiences. I'm a seafood consumer and of course I like to purchase online. Publix is clearly a market leader in it's respective areas, with one exception online Seafood. This is my basis. First their selections are limited, such as Shrimp and even when the selections were available either the orders didn't fill or, more problematic, .05 pound got interpreted as five pounds. I happened to be right there and stopped it. Customer service at the Seafood Counter itself is very good and focused, the pricing is competitive and Publix does have a posted responsible sourcing policy for it's seafood. Improve it's online presence and the Publix Seafood Counter will be very good.
Employees very friendly, professional, and family like. Miss Jill is great. In the deli.all employees are good, but a few stand out (Starr. Mr. Paul, and Miss Kim). Don't have to much interaction in the Produce department because usually can "serve" myself. In the Meat department, Dean always stands out. John in the Sushi department has a great selection of Sushi all the time especially on Sushi Wednesday ( the day I buy) and always thanks me. When I check out I usually look for a combo ( a cashier and courtesy clerk) that I prefer/would rather ho through. All cashiers and courtesy clerks are good but I have my preferences. Miss Claudia is my choice. Doug Frye is great too. Customer service is super. There's a few that stick out. Mr.Doug, Miss Libby, Miss Elizabeth, and Miss De'aundra.

Logan and Pierre that work in the deli are absolutely amazing. I had a not so pleasant experience with a female worker in the deli tonight (12/31/22). Logan was more than happy to help the couple next to me that the female was serving, as well as myself. Then Pierre stepped in to help the couple. These men deserve a shout out. They took charge and put the customers first. They both apologized for the female worker (when they shouldn’t have), and gave me and the other couple the upmost wonderful customer service. These men deserve a raise and shoutout. Thank you both for making the couple you served and I a wonderful sandwich and giving us wonderful service.
I've shopped here many times. It's always good. I especially like the deli and the bakery. it's best place to go if you are near Baymeadows road and Southside blvd If you go there, be sure to check out the mural at the front entrance. (august 2023 update. i just added some new pictures of the mural. will try to get more info an that artwork next time i am there. They usually have a lot of nice BOGO free deals so I always scope out the weekly ad and save a ton of money. be sure to check the ad to see if they have the $10 off on a gas card when you spend $50. they run that coupon every month or so and it's a nice deal.
The fresh sandwich deli staff are undertrained and commit health violations present to the guest. I Gave them frequent times to fix themselves with different people, and they still let me down. Staff wiped dirty gloves on their dirty apron and then proceeded to grab cheese out of the fridge. Touched the trash cans with his gloves without changing them and proceed to make my sandwich. Asked to redo the sub but I still couldn't bring myself to accept their second and third try. No longer ordering or buying from this location, scared of what they do out of the public eye.
Shopping here is not a pleasure…. When I go to check out, the cashier doesn’t greet, always in a personal conversation with someone else. They don’t know how to bag..careless…one of the cashier (an older looking lady) literally shoved the receipt in my face and I’m not even done paying for my groceries…always messy, deli slow, seafood & fruits doesn’t look fresh….not very big on customer service…definitely need to retrain employees…. I’veworked at grocery stores before and expectations are high…don’t like the job get a new one….
I have ordered 2 cakes from this location & both of them had issues. The 1st one was for my boyfriend's birthday with a custom golf design- went to pick it up & they said the guy put the wrong date & it had not been made yet. The 2nd cake I ordered (months later) I specifically told the woman working the counter that I wanted rainbow sprinkles on the chocolate cake. I went to pick up the cake & it had brown & white round sprinkles on it - NOT what I asked for. I will NOT be ordering any more cakes from this location.
Please do not eat anything from their deli/sandwich section. I currently have the worst bout of food poisoning I’ve ever had. Please don’t do it. I ordered a boars head turkey and cheese wrap with swiss cheese, spinach, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, ranch, oregano, salt, and pepper on a whole wheat wrap. I’ve ordered this for years at many other Publix’s across the state. This was my first time ordering this at this location and I’ve literally never been so sick in my life. Please beware.
This was the worst experience with ordering a sub I’ve ever had! This is the first and the last time getting a sub at this location. Everyone and I mean everyone working behind the sub counter was horrible! They were extremely slow and inattentive. Also, the subs were made poorly and looked like someone just threw everything on a roll. The tomatoes were old and wilted. Just a horrible experience overall. I will stick to the other locations that care about their work.
As always a great place to shop. The variety of brands is good, their prices are competitive. Plenty of parking, clean and the staff is always pleasant and willing to assist you. I recently had a great experience at another Publix in Tampa and created a review for them. The honesty of their young staff, give me great hope for the generation of kids that work here. Continue providing jobs for our kids keeping them away from drugs and away from the streets.
I went to this location and I noticed I had left my debit card at home when I got to the check out the cashier was going to allow me to input my card info and the Manager Joan (I believe that was her name) the only female manager had us wait in the customer service line and waste our time only to say she couldn't do it. She stated she can input my card info it if my card wasn't working. Which means it's possible to manually input debit cards.
I am done going to this store. I kept trying. The produce is always almost all spoiled, or out of stock. Yesterday moldy strawberries, and raspberries. Mushrooms gross, lack of product. NEVER get a greeting when at register to check out, employees too busy talking about their own personal issues, yesterdays visit, two employees at register never spoke a word to me, handed me receipt with no verbiage. Terrible location.
I have high respect for PUBLIX Branches for their service-oriented ability, but this particular branch puts the entire company to shame. Everyone needs to be retrained to go beyond the call of duty or hire people to know how to live up to PUBLIX standards and expectations. Not to mention a lot of faith-based buildings close by and they would rather act incompetent or lazy over working hard for their hard-earned cash.
I have trouble finding products here that other Publix have in stock. Also the sub line in the deli takes FOREVER! It may be better to pre-order them online, wait an hour or so and then go get them because in store you'll be waiting in line standing for an extra 30/45min minimum. Last time I was there the sandwich line was running the hot foods as well so that was extra time on top of it. Store is clean though.
Had an interaction with a manager by the name Karen (actual name). One of the most unprofessional and bitter managers to date. If you don't know how to communicate with customers perhaps this position is not one for you. She seemed to be angry and stressed. Do not bring your personal problems to the work place. This location is amazing, but Karen does not meet the standards for Publix.
I can't say enough nice things about this store and Publix in general. The associates are consistently friendly yet professional and always helpful. I had no less than a half dozen people greet me with a smile and ask how I was doing. The meat dept associate went out of his way to find me the turkey I wanted (I did not get his name). Keep up the good work!
Bobby the bagger made my whole day. He really helped me a lot by helping me carry my groceries to my car as I have health issues that affects my ability to carry things. He’s pleasant to talk to, hard working, and represents Publix so well. Will come to this location just because of Bobby and his positive attitude. Love Publix even more after today!!
I placed a order at 8:00 pm for some sandwiches and they barely started at 8 I had to wait there 30 minutes even though I placed it 30 minutes before ridiculous they need to get their act together happened 3 times already so just letting ya know if you place a order it would be 15-30 minutes late I saw them doing other sandwiches except me
Only publix in the world with no pharmacy. The store itself is clean and well stocked. Layout is a little weird but im not used to this store. Staff is friendly and helpful. Bakery and deli have both catered for me and have not disappointed but the big man needs to add a pharmacy bc otherwise you have to go to cvs next door and that one is awful.
No Publix unsweetened tea for over a week in deli. Asked new customer service manager who was standing at checkout lines. He said it was above his pay grade. Maybe the store manager could order it. The checkout helper said there is no choice on what kind or how much tea is delivered to deli. I have shopped here for decades. Never heard this line.
Prices are pretty high and there are empty spots on shelves with "sorry for the inconvenience" tags, but that's starting to be common everywhere. The manager of the cashiers was monitoring everything like an overseer and it felt like the employees at the front were walking on eggshells with him around. Not sure I would return to this location.
The people that work the deli and make the pre made sandwiches have absolutely no business preparing food of any kind, and I mean that. It is not hard whatsoever to slap meat and bread together in an acceptable way. People do it every day at most publix’s. Except this one. Just do your job, nobody is asking you to reach for the stars here
I always do my grocery shopping at this Publix. The store is clean, bright, well organized and easy to navigate. All the associates, no matter their position, are extremely helpful and friendly. I am not a big fan of shopping but definitely enjoy my experiences at this Publix. Highly recommend.
Store is OK, but lacks a good variety of Jewish foods, especially holiday selections. Everyday deli and side choices, kosher cried beef, pastrami, jarred goods like red peppers and some tomatoes are not available. There wasn't any Chanakah gelt either. Very sad and disappointing.
Like most Publix locations this is a well stocked location with plenty of staff. Great Bakery also makes this a must use. Only challenge is parking with spaces but it may be a slight walk. Handicap parking is limited. Also located within an area with restaurants and other stores.
It was packed because of game day. Ordered a sub at noon for 2:45 pickup. Sub wasn't ready until 3 pm. Worth the wait. I was pleasantly surprised a Ultimate full size sub was $7.99 on sale. Even not on sale their sub prices were great. I can't see paying $15 at other sub shops.
Great supermarket. It is busier than most because is located in a very busy and diverse area of Jacksonville, the Southside. The selection of products is great and service is good. I have come to this location for years and I always have had a good experience.
Came Monday for a chicken tender sub. I was helped by Richard and asked him to surprise me. I was gifted with the works. The best sub I ever had. Thank you Richard for the superb customer service as well as sub I’ll definitely be back for more
A friendly, helpful staff. I'd forgotten what it's like to shop somewhere where the people that work there care about you. Ready to help and always friendly. Yes there are businesses that still do this. Let's be friendly to them.
There's no point in ordering a PubSub online at any point in time, they'll always be ten minutes late. With how much more expensive their products Re compared to other stores, you would think they would get more help at the deli.
This particular Publix is as excellent as most of the rest. Always clean and management is usually about making sure everything is going well. Consistently well stocked, with friendly employees. I like going to this store!
I have been going here for years. For me I enjoy my interactions with the staff. Always helpful and friendly ready to give you the greeting of the day. They have great products for BOGO but it changes so keep checking.
Pastry & Cake department Manager, workers very rude. Unfriendly to me. I am Senior woman of color. Nothing else to say good about the coldness of there employee's in that department. Chi Ori …
I’m an instacart shopper, there’s on guy in particular named Adam. Is the best, he’s always happy to help if I need help with finding an item and I always see him being friendly to everybody.
Yep....... you guessed it........ I just had to go and get not 1, not 2...... but 4 boxes of chicken wings....... and yes, I did eat them all... by myself.... Publix chicken is always good.
Everyone is super helpful and this place is very clean. Every-time I go to get so steamed shrimp, they are always polite and even help me figure out what sides I should get with it!
I love this Publix. Employees are always so kind and helpful. This store is always so spotless/clean. Thank you for making Publix my go to for all of my grocery shopping needs.
This store is a little dated compared to others in Jax, otherwise its a Publix they are great and I like shopping here, but this store could seriously use some renovations.
Amazing setting, everything was exceptionally placed, The customer service was simply outstanding. Greatly appreciated you all. For the services rendered.
I ordered my daughters first bday cake and it went flawless. The store is extremely clean and everyone is very friendly. I love shopping at Publix …
Nicole in the Deli went out of her way to help me and accommodate my special request. Thank you so much for being kind and having great customer service!
Costs a little more than Harvey's and more than Walmart but it's a local market and it had everything I needed so the extra cost was worth the visit
Fabulous store. I love Publix ❤. Please and thank you add more salad bars and olive... Staff agreed and were super nice. Cart guy was busybusy.
It's too small. No pharmacy, careless vendors, and below average customer service compared to other publixs I've visited. Good for a pinch.
The people are really helpful but I don't like the there's another store up the street it's much bigger but it has lower prices
It's the only publix that looks exactly the same as when I was a kid. It reminds me of my grandfather every time I go there.
I came. I saw. I conquered when I dropped a deuce the size of delicious Publix sub that are affordable and delicious.
Like every Publix store, staff is always friendly and the store is clean. My favorite is the $5 sushi Wednesdays!
This is a nice Publix with very nice employees. There's decent parking usually, and that's always a good thing.
Gotta love Publix, they mostly always have what you need! Friendly helpful staff!! Best place for groceries.
Tons of stock and great deals as usual. About as clean as they get and the staff are super friendly.
Clean aisles. Super friendly staff. Fresh and hot food at the deli. Prices touched by inflation.
This is one of the nicest and cleanest Publix.I love coming here and the subs are amazing!!
Clean store, very well stocked and easy to locate what we needed! Friendly cashier too.
It was quiet and clean plus has the bang and body armor drinks I was looking for too.
Great location where we frequently pick up food for tailgating before Jaguar games.
Love that place, they have good food but my favorite is the Smokies Cuban sandwich.
This store is so scary is literally dark and gloomy they. Need new lighting system
Clean and very.organized setup. Store is well lite and product.seletion,...Many"
Love my Publix store & Staff! Super customer friendly & exceptional service!!
Don't know her name, but lady at the deli made me best pub sub I've ever had.
this is a well-stocked store, but it’s in desperate need of a full remodel.
I love shopping at Publix the meats vegetables and fruits are always fresh
My go to Publix. Only way it gets better is if they add a hot food bar.
They are really nice in the bakery really loved my son's birthday cake
My favorite Publix on the Southside. Excellent subs and helpful staff.
Provides friendly, speedy and accessible goods for a reasonable price.
Super Super Super Publix, sooo nice I had to say it thrice …
Very clean store and employees are professional and polite
Prices are a little high but the fresh food is amazing!
They didn't greet us. The treat was disparaging.
Great staff. Very nice and helpful. Yummy subs.
I love our Publix, they take good care of us.
