"I have already complained about the lack female / women representation on all but one of the pieces of equipment"
"Gym is probably one of the better pure gyms I’ve been too"
"I used to love coming to this gym in my lunch break, there used to be a really good selection of classes during lunch including strength and sweat classes"
"I went to this gym whilst spending time in Bristol"
"Edit: There is a reply from puregym about the lack of cleaning station"
I have already complained about the lack female / women representation on all but one of the pieces of equipment. There is quite a lot of rubbish behind machines and on the floor. I feel individuals having locks for personal use of lockers is highly unfair. There is an unpleasant smell in the women's toilets
Gym is probably one of the better pure gyms I’ve been too. Only thing I don’t like is it’s currently 27 degrees most days and for some reason the gym never has the air con on. When it gets busy the gym starts to smell and it gets so hot in here. This is despite the air on being on all winter.
I used to love coming to this gym in my lunch break, there used to be a really good selection of classes during lunch including strength and sweat classes. For some reason (I think a change in management which is a HUGE SHAME) these classes have been completely wiped! Bring the classes back!
I went to this gym whilst spending time in Bristol. Even for a PureGym the standards are low. The dumbbells are out of order and dotted around the gym, left to be tripped over. This is the same with the plates. People would finish their set
Edit: There is a reply from puregym about the lack of cleaning station. Having to ask the staff to get cleaning supplies for us completely defeats the purpose of a cleaning station. It's not convenient and people clean the equipment if it's
Updated: the staff here are all lovely and doing their absolute best, but a few months from opening and it's got pretty grim. Classes are often chaotic and overfilled, there is trash everywhere and people have stopped bothering to put their
I too am not sure why people are complaining about this gym - this one is much nicer than Barrow Rd and has WAY more weights, weight machines and cable machines PLUS SO MANY squat racks you finally don't need to wait ages to do deadlifts or
Really good gym in terms of equipment, tonnes of racks and benches and lots of space to do everything. This is however, the filthiest gym I have ever seen. Weights and equipment scattered all over the floor throughout the gym. The changing
I have mixed feelings about the experience. On the positive side, they offer a wide variety of gym equipment, making it easy to find the machines you need for your workout. However, I was quite disappointed with the hygiene standards. Many
I visit this gym maybe once or twice a week due to where I’m working, Equipment is good but the place is absolutely filthy, dare walk bare foot in changing rooms, rubbish everywhere, toilet paper all over the floor. Showers are cold if you
Gyms okay I go quite late at night so it’s quiet, I know throughout the day it’s very packed, wouldn’t recommend during the day, the lack of equipment is what gives this a two star coming from barrow road which had hack squat and a precor
Not normally one to write negative reviews but I’m really disappointed that this Pure Gym is my ‘replacement’ gym since Barrow Road closed. It felt so cramped, had barely any cleaning stations, missing some basic weight machines (couldn’t
Pros - the gym is a good size and it’s nice to have decent parking with no charges. Down side is the gym is filthy. Iv been here two weeks and there is still rubbish, dust and debris from my first visit. There is trails of rubbish through
Edited: I am very surprised and disappointed how I NEVER heard back from anyone at Pure gym regarding my messages and reviews here and on Facebook, messenger, etc. with 30+ attached pictures and videos about how filthy, disgusting was the
I don't use Pure Gym. I do use M&S next door. I am disabled and have mobility issues, so use the disabled parking bays. It never fails to amaze me how often I see the gym users with no blue badges parking in the disabled bay's and pop in
Edited because review was first submitted when the gym was just opened. Absolutely rammed even at non-peak times, I can just about get a workout in with the equipment I need if I go during 9-5, but peak times are impossible. Has just one
Edit: I’ve had to take off a star due to how ridiculously packed the gym gets at peak times, and there still isn’t anything to wipe down the equipment like at other gyms. Come on guys it’s not difficult, just get some spray and blue roll
Having moved from Barrow Road due to its closure, I was really disappointed with the location of this replacement gym. As a woman who doesn't drive and works out in the evenings, I feel as if the Eastgate Retail Park location was pretty
It’s a good gym, very large and full of good equipment, not the best equipment but everything you need. My only issue is that the air conditioning is really poor, no real circulation or fresh air so when it gets to peak time it can get
Got a membership in this gym after reading alot of bad reviews cause I felt that the opinions are based on people's personal feelings .I'm glad I did this.Very good gym with many advanced equipment. And it was very clean.Thank you
This gym is overall really poor even for PureGym. Cleanliness is very low, bathrooms never have enough toilet roll, awful smell in womens changing room which I’ve reported multiple times and nothing changed, equipment is very fragile &
Smaller than Barrow Road, always packed and no ladies room. People parking in disabled bays with no blue badge. Weird layout. Studio and cycle studio could have been one so that there could be a ladies room. Funny now the Barrow Rd app
I have already tried the city center gym, But I like this gym because There is not much crowd here so I can focus on my workout without waiting for the Instruments to be empty, Instruments are available quickly due to less crowd. The
I rarely leave reviews, but was shocked to see all these bad reviews for this gym! People complaining about the location, I don't it's fair to leave bad reviews for that. It's also very subjective. Its an amazing location for me, my
Nothing to wipe down equipment after use and haven't been able to find a coffee shop within walking distance open in the evening so I can have a caffeine dose which helps me train. Needs more bicycle parking spaces outside
Clean, 24/7, cheap and easy to sign up. However there needs to be a few more weight machines as the gym get busy. For example there's only 1 Lateral pull down. Also the weights in free weight area are never organised.
Terrible smell of sweat as soon as you walk in it hits you in a face like a brick. There is NO VENTILATION and like a hundred of people exercising. I had nausea and felt super weak after my workout.
Been to many puregyms and this has the least equipment, just a handful of useless matrix gear. Decent amount of free weights and racks but only 1 bench. Also always crowded and no cleaning stations.
Decent gym with a good range of equipment and space, the only issue is the cleanliness, it is pretty below par in the toilets and who decided two toilet cubicles was enough for a gym of this size
Pros: spacious, new equipment, tons of machines for upper body. Cons: not enough machines for lower body, NO Music (maybe because I went on Sunday, but it felt like someone’s funeral).
BEST. GYM. EVER! Loads of room, loads of equipment and plenty of room to do some calisthenics and yoga too! More cleaning spray bottles on the support beams would be a good idea tho.
Pretty good for a 24/7 gym - cleaner than most, friendly and respectful, and the trainers aren't showboating for clients. Great range of equipment, not lacking anywhere …
I would like more variery of classes or that they would be longer than just 30 minutes... but I understand that this is the company's policy? Gym a bit small but good enough.
Some rat had his t shirt of, 2ladies walked past, tissue everywhere, 2cans of coke left on floor, an there no staff in there pretty shocked An yet made over 60millon profit
Really good value, clean and tidy equipment, rooms and bathroom areas. V regular classes, and I always find a time that suits me. Diverse and friendly too.
Probably wouldn’t recommend this gym to anyone that’s new to the gym. It’s cheap so you get what you pay for. Some of the male PT’s stare a bit much though
Decent gym but someone needs to sort the cleaner out! The amount of rubbish and dirt ud think there was no cleaner! Bottles everywhere for days! Terrible
Dirty gym. Showers not cleaned for days. For a new gym the lack of cleaning if appalling. Debris and chewing gum left in showers for days!!
I wish Puregym would move back into Barrow Road, its been an empty building ever since it had to leave, I dont mind paying a bit more!
Brand new gym. Very nice inside, clean with lots of staff to help. Machines and benches all brand new, really really nice facilities.
It’s a shame about the location as a car driver this area is too busy to get to and out again at peak times such as after work .
Nice clean gym, not overly busy but I go during the afternoon. Minus one star because it could have some kind of punchbag area.
Extremely old equipment and doesn't work great. Not a single proper cleaning station that I could see in the whole building.
Moved here from Abbeywood Pure. Really good facilities, and plenty of space to train when I go (6AM) weekdays.
EDIT 02/01/23 : PureGym respond asking me to email more information so they can speak with the gym manager.
Not a bad gym just always packed and always have to search for weights... Nothing is ever easy to find
Good gym with a good range of equipment. Still surprised there are no cleaning stations installed!
Edited Review Initially in August 22, I gave the gym 4 stars, only criticism was there were no
It is fine even at peak hours, although they could do with more cleaning stations
Busy place Lots of members So pretty good sign
