Six weeks ago we were blessed to have a lovely boxer "Moe" left in our care after his owner could no longer care for him. I did a Google search to find a vet and found a lot of positive reviews for Queensway West Animal Hospital so I called them up to bring Moe in. Moe's arrival was unexpected and his history was unknown. We had travel plans to the U.S. and needed to make sure he was current in his vaccinations so we could cross the boarder. They were able to see us the next day and were so kind and caring to our new family member. This began a wonderful 6 week relationship with this clinic as we quickly learned that Moe came with some severe health issues. They were so helpful, caring and compassionate in helping us to diagnose his cancer and look for solutions. Our time with Moe was cut very short as a tumour on his back invaded his spinal cord forcing us to make that awful decision but one of kindness to end his suffering. I have never experienced such kindness and support through such a difficult situation. I will never forget how they supported me and cared for Moe. When the time is right we will find another sweet heart to join our family and I will certainly go right back to QWAH to ensure he/she gets the best care out there. Thanks to everyone at QWAH.

My partner and I owe Dr. Morrison, Erin, Dana and Amanda a life debt. We adopted a barn cat who wouldn't sleep-- at all. He would sleep maybe 5 hours a day and would keep us up all through the night meowing. It was like having a newborn, only furry with enormous ears. Nothing we tried worked; play before bed, an automatic feeder, puzzles, night foraging, ignoring him. Dr. Morrison and her team of heroes helped us set him up on melatonin at first and when that didn't work we got him on an antidepressant to help him relax at night. Last night we got our first 8 hour sleep in 5 weeks. The entire team was clear, prompt, understanding, helpful and made us feel better about the whole situation. It was pretty discouraging to see our new cat so upset and agitated and as first time cat owners we thought we were doing something wrong. The vet team made it clear we were doing all we could and that he needed a little extra help relaxing. He now sleeps as much as a normal cat and has even started sharing the bed with us-- something his foster said he never did in care. He is clearly much happier and relaxed. This team gave us our days and nights back and we're never going anywhere else, I don't care if we move to Norway, we'll fly back for visits.

Queensway West Animal Hospital has been taking care of my furry family members for over 15 years! September 2000, faced with a pet emergency, in a new city, I knew of QWAH from friends of ours - the clinic was just closing for the day, and in fact, the Doctor had already left. I presented with my cat who was convulsing - they called Dr. Dunns - he turned around and came back in for a client he had never met before! From the moment we walked through their door, they have provided excellent care and service. They have seen us through heartbreaking illness, and supported us through treatment. Always giving options with the animals best interest at heart. They have grieved with us at the end of a life, and celebrated with us when we have welcomed a new one. They have supported through puppy hood...twice, have made time for those little things that just pop up. They have always welcomed and encouraged my children to be part of the pet care experience. Queensway West Animal Hospital knows that pets are members of our family. And while a pet might not be our whole life, they are what make our lives whole! We always had a positive experience taking our dogs here. The vets and associates were all very nice - and the vets would willingly sit on the floor to check out our dogs instead of asking them to be put on the table... But... we have 3 dogs - one being a new puppy. We didn't notice at first after moving to Kanata, but after a while our new puppy experience illuminated to us to the fact that this is the most expensive vet we have ever been too... and they are not at all flexible on costs. We even came for extra visits because of different issues but that didn't matter. They charged $91.50 every single time the vet looked at our dog. Even if they saw it 2 weeks ago. The whole experience became very confusing because all of my questions were answered in the very first visit and so was the entire vaccination plan. Whereas all other vets we called, or have been to, charge less. Most importantly other vets charge a reduced "recheck" fee that is generally about 2/3 the cost of a regular visit. So in other words - they are the most expensive vet around. Especially for the puppy experience which involves frequent visits in a very short period of time (3 months).

I recently switched to the Queensway West Animal Hospital after many years at a previous clinic. I was having an issue with my French bulldog and this clinic was recommended to me. The service, advice, empathy and understanding I have received from Dr. Morrison has been exceptional. I have had pets my entire life and never in my adult life has a vet been so thorough, so solutions-oriented, and so compassionate. While we are still working on finding the best solution for my Frenchie, I am grateful for the follow-up and level of detail that the clinic is undertaking. Something else i appreciate about this clinic is that it is very respectful of the costs associated with treatments. The cost of certain tests were thoroughly explained to me. This clinic also does not push costly treatments, etc. so you don't feel as though you being taken advantage of or put in a difficult situation. I am so happy I found this clinic and we will be forever clients here. Thank you.

it can't be easy to guide people through losing a best friend but i am very grateful for Dr. Jamieson and her team, who were there for me when my ailing senior furbaby needed emergency care. when other clinics closer to Renfrew refused to accept new patients and especially in an emergency, Dr. Jamieson went out of her way to care for my dying dog -- she arranged additional testing on an urgent basis, answered questions and supported me outside of business hours. she ensured that my dog was comfortable even in extreme distress that was brought on by an unexpected stroke, and i was able to say goodbye. i will be forever grateful for that. Dr. Jamieson also succeeded at wrangling my wild siamese to get a blood test and examining my anxious rottweiler who did not let another vet touch her. great vet, i wish i and my pets had met Dr. Jamieson earlier.

Had a distressing night with my cat and was gunna start my phone call adventures to see what clinic could see him. Thankfully I called the best one first! The staff at Queensway is so nice and amazing. They squeezed my cat in to be seen on their lunches because his teeth were causing him so much pain. Even though they could not book a dental for a few months. they had options lined up that could be done that day to make him comfortable for the wait. I am so relieved and happy they could see my cat and they did the procedure on their lunch time. Which is beyond thoughtful and nice of them to do for me. This is the first time I ever dealt with this vet clinic and it surely will not be the last. Odie thanks you so much for being so nice to him! I cant thank this staff enough <3

We first came to Queensway West after adopting an older dog with separation anxiety in 2014. We moved to another city after a year and missed this place! I am glad we are back as I have always had a great experience here. We bring our dog and our cat and the prices are better than our last vet. I have always found a great balance between price and care here, and Dr. Morrison is so great with our cat when she is nervous. She gets down on the floor to examine her while she is hiding in her carrier to coax her out slowly and talks to her in a baby voice. All the techs we have seen have been great too. We saw Dr. Duns for our dog recently when she was having some vomiting and he was great and didn't go straight to expensive unnecessary tests, which I liked a lot.

I loved having QWAH as my vet. They took wonderful care of our dog, Teddy, who had a pretty uncommon genetic kidney issue. They were there through his three year journey with PLN and were always glad to have him in for anything and everything. When we decided to end Teddy’s suffering they were wonderful and so respectful. When we later adopted 2 cats, they were just as excited to meet our new family members as we were. I’ve since moved (and started my own journey in vet med, thanks in large part to how wonderful the vets at this practice are) and so I haven’t been in to see them for about 2 years. But I know they will always be happy to see my little one if needed. Cannot recommend this practice enough!

My wife was 12 minutes late, sorry, 12 minutes and 59 seconds, according to the receptionist. She wouldn’t take my cat. “We don’t take animals if they are more than 5 minutes late” was her response. There was no one else there. I’m their neighbour. They should be a little more understanding when it’s -25 and the car wouldn’t start. Such a shame. I really wanted to be one of their regulars. I’m not taking this kind of treatment. I’m the customer, not their employee. Taking my business elsewhere. Lots of other options. Sorry for the review. I truly am. But customers paying hundreds of dollars don’t work for you. You should find a better way to refuse service.

First off, I just want to thank all of the staff so far with my experience. My Dane "Gus" had just got in a scrap with our other dog, and had some pretty good cuts. My vet along side alot of other vets suffering through this hard times were not able to see my Gus, and this team came to the rescue!! I already feel like this vet has known gus his whole life, giving him good attention, and actually caring about his well being. Sometimes cost don't mean anything when it comes to our pets, but I have to say... I'm extremely happy to say they are more than fair with the prices. I highly recommend and would give more stars if I could. Thank you guys a bunch!!

We have been bringing our cats here since 2009, when I brought my cat with me upon moving from the US (we acquired two more in 2010, kittens we kept from fostering an abandoned and pregnant cat). The staff has been nothing but wonderful, and while I don't know how their rates are in comparison to others (going by another less pleased commenter), I honestly don't care; it's a good practice with good people and that is worth it to me. I know my pets are in good hands when I bring them here, and when one has to make the tough decision to let go of a sick furry friend, they are supportive and compassionate.

I've never felt so confident with a veterinarian hospital. The support staff are helpful and caring, and the vets themselves are knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to follow up on inquiries about your pet's care. I do find them a little bit more expensive than what I have previously paid but that could be the normal increase of prices over the years; I don't know. What I do know is that I always feel like my animals have been well cared for and I wouldn't risk taking their care elsewhere. Also, important to me, the clinic is clean and smells good. thanks QWAH team!

I am a completely satisfied customer of QAH. My GSD and I have been using their services since 2008. The 1st visit was an emergency - QAH took us in even though we were not yet a customer minutes before closing to help us. Help requiring hours not minutes. Since then we have been through two ACL surgeries and all the normal needs - they - all staff were and are great - I recommend them highly and challenge anyone to find fault in them - all I've ever experienced is professional, friendly, caring, and understanding staff. They are all you and your pet will ever need.

5 years custom of this hospital only because it is near my home. Never late for any appointments in the past. Last appointment I was running late because work meeting and promised to be there within 15 minutes of my original appointment time. The front desk said no to me, she canceled my appointment and charged me $57.75 for the cancelation. She is very arrogant and unfriendly. I know it is a hard time to find a new animal hospital but I still decided to terminate the contract from here right away. And I will never visit here again.

The veterinarians and staff are very knowledgeable and they take great care in keeping your pet health and are quick to diagnose and treat a sick pet, often in a single visit. I took my elderly dog to them when I was new to the city and they suggested a simple $10 injection once a month and that restored his mobility and allowed him to live an extra 2 years. I have continued to take my pets to QWAH as the care and personal attention each one receives has been the best I have ever experienced. Thanks!

I've been bringing my cat to QWAH for several years now and am always very pleased with the experience. The staff are kind and helpful, and so gentle and caring with my cat. I've seen both Dr. Duns and Dr. Morrison and they are both excellent! During the Christmas holidays I had to take my cat in for a fairly serious issue. Not only did they work through the issue, they called several times to see how he was doing...they go above and beyond! I would highly recommend this veterinary clinic!

Not only are staff members very congenial, they are all knowledgeable. Your pet is warmly greeted and then receives first class care. Our Golden Retriever has been treated here for all of his 8 years. He recently had surgery for cyst removal and tooth extraction. Dr. Steven Duns and the attending technicians are superb practicians. I trust them completely to treat and prescribe all necessary medications for Baxter. You can feel confident that your pet has received the best care available.

We've been taking both our cats to Queensway for a few years now and have had nothing but good experiences. Dr. Duns has been the vet for our special needs cat and has helped us figure out a few medical hurdles. He is incredibly kind and patient, we particularly appreciate how thorough he is in answering our questions about treatments. Dr. Morrison is the vet for our other cat and she is also wonderful! We don't live in Kanata but this practice is well worth the commute.

Great vet. The vets are experienced and caring. They will advise you honestly - not just recommend random interventions that cost money and aren't necessary. We had to put one of our kitties to sleep and they were very empathetic throughout the whole process and took time to explain everything to us. They helped us through a very difficult decision and cared for not just our pets, but us as well. I cannot recommend Queensway West Animal Hospital enough.

I've never had such great experiences as the one's I've had with the vets, vet techs and support staff at Queensway West Animal Hospital. They are always so caring with my dogs, know how to approach my min-pin x who is anxious with strangers and they always take the time to listen to me discuss their health concerns. The follow up emails and phone calls are so valuable and it's so nice to know that the staff really care about the welfare of my pets.

We are so happy that we choose this clinic for our cat! Our cat had cyst next to his nose and I was worry that the surgery will damage his look and of course if the cyst might be dangerous. Our cat got the best possible care with kind, friendly and high professional personal. Dr. Lara Jamieson did an awesome job on our cat's face. The scar looks very small, accurate and sore heals very well. I would highly recommend this amazing team!

My partner and I went in with our 6 month old Kitten this evening. We were met with a very pleasant receptionist who talked with us while we waited for Dr. Morrison. Dr. Morrison was wonderful, she answered all of our questions with great patience and care. As owners having recently adopted a kitten from the Ottawa Humane Society, we could not ask for better treatment and will definitely be returning.

I found QWAH when in search of a vet to help with the very hard decision to put our ailing dog to sleep. What I found was a VERY comfortable situation for my dog in which the staff put him at ease and made the very hard situation bearable. Dr Lara Jamieson and the staff at the clinic are very compassionate, patient and caring. Had an emergency and Dr Jamieson came over to check up my dog even though it wasn't her working day at the clinic. Though she referred us to a specialist for further assessment at the time but she diagnosed the problem accurately, and prescribed medication to help mitigate my dog having further seizures.

Awesome clinic with vets who really care. Would recommend them to everyone. I never feel pressured to do unnecessary tests or procedures. Most of the time they are able to squeeze me in when I need an appointment in a hurry. Always friendly and helpful. I've been with them for over 10 years and even though I have moved to the east end of the city, I still bring my cats and dogs to them.

I am really happy with this veterinary clinic! They have always been compassionate and caring with my dog, and very helpful. They don't push expensive procedures, and are willing to work with you to find solutions to your pet's problems. Sometimes they run a bit late for appointments, but it is nothing unreasonable. I will continue to bring my pets here!

I have been with Queensway West Animal Hospital since January 2007 and found their service to be Exemplary all of the Staff are very pleasant and very caring with the animals and owners and their pricing is reasonable. I would have no hesitation in recommending their services to anyone, in fact I do very often. Also our dog loves going to them.

All the staff at QWAH are amazing. Its clear they love what they do, as well as the pets that are entrusted to their care. My experience has always been fantastic and I know that the well-being of my animals is their first priority. I am pleased with the care my old girl received at QWAH. She is 17 years old and definitely not ready to leave us yet. The clinic is steps away from my house so very convenient. The staff are always very friendly and extremely helpful. They are a bit pricy but I guess I would have to say...Sophie is worth it and the care is great!

I've had to bring in two cats recently for care. They not only fixed the problems but also were able to do so while accommodating my limited financial resources. All the people clearly love animals and what they do. It's not just a job to them, it's an avocation. You cannot possibly go wrong bringing your cat to them.

Dr. Dunn and Dr. Jamieson are amazing veterinarians who really care about the animals. They take the time to discuss your pets health and aways follow up with phone call regarding test results and how to take care of your animal. You can book an appointment for near future. They are mostly available. If your pet has a problem they follow up seriously by emails or phone calls. Very good service. I wish my family doctor would be like this.

Went to have but problem checkes on small dog. The meda given were bot sufficient and the work counst be done. $350 bill was extreme for doing her glands. Probably won't return any time soon

First visit to the clinic. Staff was friendly, vet was amazing. He did a very thorough exam and it was a very positive experience. Highly recommend this clinic to anyone I need of a vet.
