"Very disappointed with the level of service I received in this location,Very confuse staff, no knowledge of their companies policies, please read all the reviews (Lowest) before you waste your time and money in this location , I wanted to do a price match on a product that I purchased from Grimsby location, no one knows how to price match a product , a gentleman introduced himself as a manager (Allan) he was not professional and knowledgeable person, and very rude, first he didn’t know the other company who was selling the product cheaper than Rona , he was asking me for information ,he wasn’t familiar with the policy’s of the company he’s working for (Rona) he said go back to Grimsby location we can’t do a price match for a deferent location, when I called the head office of Rona they said we all have one system any store can do it, he was keep asking others for information, to my knowledge only the person who has knowledge about management can be qualified for manager position, he was asking others for how to locate the competition company and asking another person for what’s Ronas policy for price matching, and he’s a manager !!!! Very disappointed i am in construction business and I will tell all my coworkers not to shop in that location ( I don’t support a business who has no respect for their customer)"

We often went to Rona when we lived in Parkdale Ave but moving to Stoney Creek and Home Depot and Lowe’s coming on to the scene we drifted away.......wrong. Trying to get the products we really wanted was a big mistake especially at Home Depot..they advertise the fact that there is always someone there to help a give advice, this is definitely not the case and in fact many a time a waste of time especially last week when I needed a washer cartridge for my leaking tap, the only thing I received was wasted time and bull. So I decided to try Rona again...thank God. We were introduced to Nancy who on looking at the photo recognised the part but they did not have it in stock...no problem she said “I’ll have it here in no time at all” and she did. We not only received excellent service but there was no charge as there was a lifetime warranty on the product PLUS we received TWO...one hot and one cold. Thanks Nancy, your a gem. P.S. we will be going to Rona first from now on.
Had to wait outside in the rain - 2 ahead of me. Had to use a buggy. The girl wiped down the top of the handle portion and the tops of the cage with a dirty rag from a bucket - which makes NO sense at all and accomplishes NOTHING. Buggy mandatory for each customer so I pulled it rather than push it. I was only there for the DeWalt 10" saw blade special: 2 for 29.95, usually 2 for 105.95. The blades are locked to the display stand. With levity, I remarked to the sales guy that I assumed the locks were necessary because we were in east end Hamilton. No comment. Just miserable. Like, really, lighten up. Well I picked up the last two blade packages on the rack and left. That visit was out of necessity only. Sales folk are nicer at Home Depot and MUCH nicer at Lowes.
I needed some assistance buying hardware for a project. The employee I spoke with made it seem as if I were interrupting his day. He was not the most enthusiastic fella and looked like he would rather be anywhere but there with me answering my questions. Looking back now I realize he had no knowledge about the product he recommended but I bought it on his suggestion and it was absolutely the wrong thing to do. So instead of admitting that he had no idea what he was talking about and finding someone who could help me, he completely wasted my time and after my project failed due to the wrong hardware, I had to go somewhere else for answers. Pfft!
Curbside pick up is the worst. Make you wait 48hrs to pick up stuff readily available in their yard. Pay ahead online, they already have your money and they simply can't print an invoice and get you your purchase. I was the only customer in the parking lot, if it was busy with other people I would have waited. I canceled my order and will purchase elsewhere. If you have the time to look up the order and then tell me it's not ready when it's sitting in the open, 60ft from my vehicle, that's lazy. Click print, make a customer happy with good service. Yes you the manager are lazy.
Staff always give great service and go above our expectations and they actually know where things are! From treated at the door to finding what you need quickly and a couple laughs on your way out ge door! My only suggestion is get a rental department and give a vip discount rental fee/allow visa debits to pay for rentals .. As for my purchase today! Got my gutter guards and teaches them to the gutters with ease! Thanks again for always helping us save time and money! Keep up the good work! Definitely my favourite Rona to come to in the gta!
I have been here a few times. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Most of the time, I can get what I need in this store. If there is something I cannot get. One of them will look online to see which Rona has the product I'm looking for. They do have Restrooms and Wheelchair Accessible Entrances. They have free parking with Wheelchair Accessible Parking Lots in the front of the store. They have online shopping. They gave us a choice to pick up our order. In the store, Parcel shipping or Rona Truck delivery.
Normally a decent experience I purchased the paint spray gun which turned out to be defective. I tried to return it they wouldn't take it back said I had to contact the manufacturer period was only 3 weeks ago used ineffectively once and clean as best as possible. I spend a pile of money there every week and they gave it up for what probably amounts to a cost of $40. I wonder what their customer acquisition cost is? I wonder what their customer reacquisition cost is? $40 doesn't seem like much now does it?
Best place to buy lumber, not sure why this location promote it to the public. Not sure, why Rona and Lowes paper ads are same, their ad company should be change. 2 different concept companies. Rona do not hire experts like HD or Lowes, neither their setup is same. So whoever go to Rona with the same impression like other 2 giants came out very quickly. Have you ever seen more than 10 visitors at a time at this place??? Rona needs overhauling toward branding,
Honestly I have never had a good service experience here. Maybe just unlucky. I have been ignored by people at the service desk. Left to wait while they "get a call back". I asked if they could call me when they get an answer. Nope, apparently I am expected to wait for hours at their desk so I can prepay for the thing they can't even confirm they can get. The service guy wandered away to go chat with other employees. Nice.
Nice location close to other home improvement places (Princess Auto, Lowe's on Barton, and Home Depot on Centennial) so I usually make it one of my stops on my journey for what I need. A lot smaller than the Rona in Waterdown, and while staff does not seem to be particularly knowledgeable, but always friendly and courteous. Wish it were open later, as the other locations and other home improvement stores are.
If you ask for assistance a person will take you where you need to go...but in a flash they disappear so your left standing there wondering where you can find another item, it would have been nice of them to ask if there was anything else that I was looking for . So I just left since that person didn't care and I went to Home Depot instead and spent my $1000.00 there instead.
What makes this location special is it has a large lumber yard. Make your order at the desk inside that's maned buy knowledgeable workers. Then drive through yard and either load yourself our have the yard boys find and even load your order. The actual indoor hardware store has most essentials, but is small and select per product is a bit limited.
Donna followed up with my order and called me personally to tell me that my order was ready for pick up. The receiving team was also super helpful and friendly, they asked me to drive to the back and they put the big stuff in my car. Thank you to all those staff for a great shopping experience, definitely the top location I’ve been to!

Lost my credit card there. I called when I got home and Lily, the woman who looked after us there went out and searched the parking lot for it. I ended up finding it under my car seat but I was really grateful for how this young lady went above and beyond to help us. Got a good deal on a patio umbrella clearance as well.
Excellent location. As others noted, it is a smaller store, but packed with all the regular stuff plus some of the more difficult to find items. Staff there is excellent, always offering to help or to let you browse in peace. And the fact that they are dog-friendly makes it my go-to hardware store on a Saturday morning.
Went to Rona on Barton st east yesterday and Jonathan was incredible. He went above and beyond to assist me with what I needed. He was friendly courteous and very helpful and is the reason Rona is my go to store of all the building supply stores. Keep up the incredible service and thanks once again Jonathan!
“Dan” (with a beard) needs to be fired. Three separate interactions with him over the past year, and each time he’s a conceded, rude person to me and my wife. I’m a VIP member here for my business, and I’m not sure I’ll spend money here again as long as he’s employed. Absolutely tarnishes the Rona name.
The staff here are very helpful, and often quite knowledgeable. I like the lumber yard set up, especially during the pandemic as I can be confident that few people have handled the materials I am purchasing. All told this little shop is a gem and I hope it continues to provide this level of service.
If you really wanted to improve customer service, you would read the lowest google reviews. Who cares about 5-star reviews unless you just need an ego boost? This contest you've been running to illicit positive reviews by offering $1000 has been going on for too long and shows your desperation.
Having recently moved into the area, I happened to go to Rona just because it was unhappy with the Canadian tire. And I have to say that every time I go, who ever I encounter has amazing customer service. So even though there are closer hardware stores. I'll continue to go to this Rona.
Fantastic service from one of their yard crew members, Drake. He helped us sort through the mess of inventory to find suitable composite decking pieces. Drake went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with each board - can't say enough good things about our recent experience.
July 29/22. These folks went above and beyond for us. They helped with the online order. Loaded into my daughter's suv for us as I am house ridden due to back issues. I now am a very proud owner of my Pit Boss Pro Series 1150 smoker. Thank you so much for everything yas did.
The new and the old rona are terrible. No one helps, no one. I got sent to each store from each store cause the other store carries that now and neither do.. I won't be shopping with rona again. Lowes was awesome. How quick things can change. I wish I could give -stars.
Unfortunately it was a waste of my time. The store didn't have the gazebo advertised in the flyer. The sales representative was of little help, stating they wouldn't be getting any in and that the company often advertised things they had no intention of restocking.
The staff were incredible. Every single person who saw me kindly asked if I needed help with anything. Rob and Andrew were above and beyond helpful and kind, collecting all of the things for are bathroom renovation and loading it into our truck for us.
It's a little off the beaten path, but people are friendly, prices are competitive and I've found stuff there that no other home improvement store carries or is even willing to talk about. Not a huge selection, but stuff enough for most jobs.
Absolutely terrible curbside pick up process. We will never be ordering from here again. Ppls who come after you, get their order numbers taken before yours. Just very very disorganized and nothing seems to be in much of a rush to get done.
Great place to shop. Zach was helping me look for a faucet the website said was in stock he looked high and low we couldn't find it but not for lack of trying. He went above and beyond even finding another store that had stock thanks Zach
I would expect that the staff in the window and door department would know basic information. Why hire kids with absolutely no knowledge of the department they are in. Hard pressed to find anyone in store that could help. Went to another
Very poor service.. I bought four by eight Drywall and they over charged me $3 a sheet went back and showed them and they said that they wouldn’t fix the problem! Not place in town you’ll pay $16 a sheet for a 4by8 sheet of Drywall!!!
It's a great little Rona, good people and decent selection for the size. If I wasn't asked to fill out a survey they would have gotten 5 stars, when will companies learn that's a horrible metric to measure stores and employees by?
Amazing customer service! Called ahead and asked for some things to be put aside. Extremely friendly staff! Thank you for the woman that gave us the balloons! Will be coming back & definitely reccomend stopping by! …
We've just had a delivery arrive. The delivery man (Vaughn) was exceptional!! He was friendly, hard working and an absolute pleasure to deal with. Give this man a raise!!! Companies need more delivery staff like this man!
Curbside pick up service is terrible. Waited for over an hour while 6 customers who arrived after me were served first and went on their way. I understand these times but they need better organization at this store.
Irony of ironies the only hardware store in all of Hamilton that carried 30 inch "bow" saws. Friendly staff. Proper floor markings for social distancing and copious amounts of hand sanitizer free to the public.
Unfortunately they didn't have what I was looking for, not the best selection of hose. The staff was courteous, but unable to assist me with what I needed. Lots of other things in stock throughout the store.
Horrible customer service from some older gentlemen that works in the store. The dudes working at the lumber yard were nice. Older dude should take notes from those kids. Never coming back to this location.
I had a good experience with the staff working in the yard but it was kind of weird shopping in store. So many employees but no customer service, it felt like I was invisible to employees in-store.
Excellent customer service, we were attended by John and Mark at the lumber section and they were not only very kind but helpful. The store has merchandise that we haven't found in other places.
Not the best for in-store selection or service BUT great for contractor services and outdoor construction materials My favorite in the area ahead of Lowes and Home Depot etc (I am a contractor)
Went there looking for.a propane fire pit. There were four on display, staff help with carrying out to our car and loading the one we selected. Dealt with 3 staff.all helpful and friendly
I bought space heaters on this day I went and are great thanks for the deal I got on them I gave them away and the people I gave them too love the heat they give . Thanks again ..
They had the product I needed. I ordered on line and chose curbside pickup. They were organized. I did not have to wait long for my order. The staff were pleasant and efficient.
Big vanity medicine cabinet for only $140. I don't think that can find any cheaper anywhere else! 32x25inch. Plus enamel wood toilet seat for $23! You can't beat that price!
Great customer service, and good prices. I went here to buy a door knob, and going in for the first time and seeing the store was welcoming. Very homey, great staff!
Great staff from management down!! Probably the best customer service we have ever received from multiple associates. Made us feel like we were important.
Anton (contractor desk) is the bomb. Good laugh with staff. 1 concern: Their in-stock item selection is somewhat limited.....verses. Mountain location
Efficient service, easy to find products and a smaller scale then the other big box stores. Fast turn around on online curbside orders too.
Store was very well laid out and organized was in and out very quickly with no nead of assistance for finding what i was looking for
Was quite impressed with the manager that was staffing the customer service desk was eager to help find what we where looking for
Absolutely terrible customer service. Will stop trying to support Canadian. Home Depot will get all of my business going forward.
Always a pleasure shopping here. Employees are happy to help and not condescending and the guys at the Pro Desk are legends
Was a poor trip. Found not a very good stock of parts, considering I was only looking a masonry bit and some tapcon's.
Looking for door bell transformer. A whole doorbell kit was cheaper than the transformer itself
Very small location, staff beyond bored and because it’s a small location has limited products
This is the way a store should be operated. Great selection and knowledgeable, friendly staff
A bit of a weird store but they have a great selection of wood products.
Handy and we'll stocked. I go here for my cleaning and painting jobs.
All the guys at contractors desk are great! Mike, Anthony and Anton.
Always an awesome personal experience, support your smaller stores.
Friendliest Rona in Ontario ! Ready to help with anything you need.
Best selection of Christmas trees, good prices.
Great selection of reduced wood. Helpful staff.
Super helpful will be back again
